1121  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: December 22, 2020, 09:51:28 AM
Good to know then, thanks for the heads up as I believe these two additions will raise the overall confidence towards the wallet.
When bitcoin is under heavy usage like these days, there are always some window opportunities to send some cheap transactions too (mainly during weekends & holidays). I believe an upgrade like this will bring more users on board.  Smiley
I understand LN requires some more time also because we shouldn't forget that LN itself is in its beta stage.
1122  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: December 21, 2020, 03:04:33 PM
I know bitamps seeds were compatible with Electrum but I created a walelt together with a friend to show him the whole procedure and I confirm everything was good. From my side, as I've already mentioned before, it would be great to be able to set custom fees (and have LN functionalities).

1123  Economy / Economics / Re: A reward system for Covid Free people.... on: December 21, 2020, 02:59:21 PM
I wish we lived in a world where governments could implement a system to reward people that stay Covid free. We see huge amounts of money  being send to people for economic boosters and social grants being paid, but no incentive to reward people that adhere to the rules and those that are staying Covid free.

Now I know a system like this will have several "loopholes" and negative implications too, because some people will try to exploit it ..by not getting tested and walking around infecting others.. to get this reward. (To prevent this, people might get regularly tested before the reward is paid out... but that would cripple the medical industry)  Sad

Currently nothing is done to incentivize people to stay Covid free.... just the fear ... but even that is not enough. (Most young people think Covid only kills older people, so they just ignore the rules to stay safe)

Let's debate this for a while and look at ways that this might work. #(Merit goes to people with the most constructive posts)#

I wish we lived in a world where governments were useless because people would be able to behave and live together.
I wish we lived in a world where everybody's freedom would be taken as seriously as our very own freedom.
I wish we lived in a world where the only currency would be simple respect for each other.
1124  Economy / Economics / Re: Tether's market cap is huge! (usdt) on: December 21, 2020, 02:54:10 PM
You're right. The team has not even disclosed its price to remain $1. Here are a few points to look at the other side:

  • 20B circulation with nothing backed
  • No proof of funds either
  • Banking partner on the Bahamas
  • Lawsuits are pending
  • No physical operation location
  • Without any regulation
  • Prints n x USDT like feds

I am worried about my funds in USDT. I think I have to move to USDC or BUSD.

But still, people use it heavily which is visible in its daily trading volume. I think Moving to DAI, USDC or other stable coins will be great but exchanges need to provide trading pairs with those stable coins too. Most of the exchanges have USDT pairs for every coin but there is not much USDC or DAI pair. That is the reason many traders like me USDT in their daily trading and I do not trust USDT either.
How many people care about Tether's issuance and backing policy? No one cares, otherwise it wouldn't be so heavily used. It's just another way to avoid fiat and to stay in crypto, that's what it is.
If it will collapse, people will cry becuase they didn't know, but the bubble is there in plain sight.

Stake is awesome! I expect to win 1,000$ in the upcoming lottery xD
Good for you, you seem pretty confident about it? How many tickets have you bought to be so sure you are the one that will win?  Grin
I can't keep focused with all the promos here, way too many! Casinos are pushing so hard to get players onboard around Christmas.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria is now the No.2 bitcoin market on: December 21, 2020, 02:47:23 PM
It would be good to compare those data with those from centralized exchanges: that would give a clearer picture about this whole situation.
Anyway, not so long before some wealthy nigerian bitcoiner will ask to buy the whole country if bitcoin keeps pushing the throttle.  Grin
1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OMG !!!!! You BitCoin people were right. I wish I had bought back in March :( on: December 21, 2020, 10:18:38 AM
The BitCoin people...
After a few hours of research Bitcoin becomes a no-brainer investement. It's not about following gurus or geeks or the likes.
To get into bitcoin early enough required a few hours of studying.
I wish you would have bought in 2014/2015... Cheesy
1128  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC technicals are against ATH. Liquidate on: December 21, 2020, 10:13:42 AM
Why is it so hard to understand that we are in front of the best performing asset of all times? I know that for traders can be hard to understand this but after 11 years I guess that should be clear by now, shouldn't be?
Forget about TA and keep stacking satoshis!

I like your optimism, but the things that are obvious now have not been obvious in the past. It is very easy to reason so knowing the past. For example, are you now ready to take out a loan (or sell a house) and invest all your funds in bitcoin? It seems to be promising, but very few people will dare to do this, right?
I don't like your answer, maybe I didn't understand what you wanted to say. “If you don’t believe it or don’t get it, I don’t have the time to try to convince you, sorry.” Someone better than me said that a while ago. You do your own reasearch, there are no shortcuts.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is used all the time even if you hodl. on: December 20, 2020, 02:42:15 PM
Anyone can use bitcoin in their most useful way. I work for bitcoin, I set recurring buys every month and I hold most of them. As long as I will not need to use them they can safely wait in cold storage. And today is a good day for UTXOs consolidation: cheap txs going through. Don't miss your chances to leverage cheap txs.
You have been warned  Wink

Talking about all ahead one third, have you heard that Elwars cruise ship Satoshi is getting scraped?
They couldn't get insurance.

https://mailchi.mp/ba2ecae563e0/satoshis-final-voyage?e=613696359f

Elwar is a likable guy, but I've never understood his obsession with seasteading. I guess that, when you become super-rich, something screws up in your head and you become obsessed with pointless, impossible tasks. Risto Pietila comes to mind. It's sad, really.

Trying to go against nature is a futile, pointless task, as is trying to go against the establishment without a feasible plan. Taking the law on your hands and setting up a seastead in the middle of the ocean is madness and delusion combined.

IMHO.

I tried plinko for a while but never got any decent win. Always hit the lower payout. But seems like plinko is the game for big winners. Few months ago I have seen that someone made 40 btc win in plinko game. And today another user won 43.46 btc in a single bet. Have you guys seen this massive win. It's worth 1 million dollar at current btc rate Shocked

Oh my bitcoin! I wish I could have shared that screenshot! My only question is if that was a lucky mistake or a deliberate attempt to reach 1000x with a big bet. Whatever the case, merry Christmas lucky player  Shocked
1133  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-12-18] BTC bull run to last until the second half of 2021? on: December 20, 2020, 02:13:19 PM
I've never liked predictions. This is the worst form of click-baiting: bitcoin is too sexy now and these guys need to eat. Don't fall for predictions, and keep studying why bitcoin is the best asset to have in our lifetime. If it keeps working this way, you know, the sky is the limit.
1134  Economy / Economics / Re: Tether's market cap is huge! (usdt) on: December 20, 2020, 02:09:56 PM
My take on Usdt has always been the same, I've been consistently saying that tether is a ticking time bomb in the crypto world.
For what it's worth, IMHO tether is doomed. Whenever CDBC regulations will be set forth, Tether is about to explode. Don't worry though, Bitcoin will survive this event too.
1135  Economy / Economics / Re: IF USDT would collapse what do you think will happen to the BTC price? on: December 18, 2020, 02:48:11 PM
I am pretty sure it's fractional.

oh it's provably fractional: Tether Lawyer Admits Stablecoin Now 74% Backed by Cash and Equivalents

tbh, i don't believe the FUD about tether printing though, and i don't think it's fractional reserve by design. however, the crypto capital seizure did showcase the inherent risks underlying tether's dollar peg. a single law enforcement seizure ate up 1/4 of their entire banking liquidity.

that should be terrifying for USDT holders, but somehow they keep the faith. tether's market cap just grows and grows. Roll Eyes
If somebody would ask me "What is the biggest threat to bitcoin today?" I'd say Tether. Bitcoin will, of course, live after a tether collapse still it's market cap will shake the ground like a medium-sized earthquake. We know btc and usdt are a bit intertwined due to the fact that it gives users a lot of convenience over moving funds in and out pretty quickly.
For that reason, I hold 0 usdt. I've never trusted it (let alone the guys who backed it).

I'm not really sure if it's allowed but I saw some groups on telegram about buying and selling accounts.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that selling your stake is not allowed?
For what I've know you have some ways to see whether a certain account was changed in hand right?

If you sell or buy account it will be banned permanently.
Moreover, when you will get a request of proving the source of your funds and you will not be able to comply you can say goodbye to your profit (if any). Apart from being prohibited and against T&Cs, buying selling an account, under those circumstances, is also very stupid.
1139  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock-to-Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity on: December 17, 2020, 02:20:56 PM
Is that magic? It could be!
As of today that is the most accurate model one could have ever produced for bitcoin. We're set to reach the next stage which is $100k.
Look at the bitcoin shortage which is happening in every exchange. Corn hunger.
Unbelievable.
