261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin and Crypto Really Like the Early Internet? on: July 04, 2021, 06:15:15 AM
This is an interesting thread. A stumbled upon a chart recently made by Documenting Bitcoin, taken from research by Crypto.com, which seems to suggest surprising growth. The premise of the analysis is that Bitcoin users are roughly the same as the Internet was in 1997. According to this research if they were to maintain these growth rates, +80% annually approx, by 2024 cryptocurrencies will have about 1 billion users. Over the next few years, it is assumed that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency users could reach 3.7 billion.

262  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should we do in the sideways market of Bitcoin? on: July 04, 2021, 06:11:35 AM
I used to have an old strategy that I used during the last big crypto winter and it was quite simple. My aim was to get as many as btc as possible out of my trades (RISKY!!!). I used to place an automated stratefy that was selling and buying in 5% range: buying on the way down and selling on the way up while keeping track of those prices. For a while it worked but with huge and quick changes you can lose a lot. Beware.

First in or out game in the thrilling Conference Finals between Milwaukee and Atlanta. And the first match point for the Bucks: tonight they'll have the opportunity to become the Eastern champions and launch a challenge, in the upcoming Finals, to the Phoenix Suns of Booker and Paul. The Arizona franchise, in fact, two nights ago definitively filed the Los Angeles Clippers' case in the other Finals, the one in the West, and now awaits, without haste, its next opponent. Milwaukee, therefore, is just one victory away from the goal that the city of Wisconsin has been pursuing since 1974. Thanks to the 123-112 obtained in game-5, when they seemed hopeless after the injury that put Giannis Antetokounmpo out of action.
The feeling is that everything depends on the presence on the court of Young and Antetokounmpo, both in doubt for tonight. Milwaukee, in any case, seems to be in much better shape and should not fail this match point, in a contest of at least 220 total points.

Messi has the objective of winning a major event for the first time with his own national team, of which he's just become the player with the most appearances, rising to 148 overtaking Javier Mascherano. In the match against Ecuador, Messi should be joined in attack by Lautaro Martinez and Nico Gonzalez.
Ecuador doesn't really look like a problem for the albiceleste and I expect quite a clear win from them, maybe 2-0 or 3-0

I'm sorry for the Ukranian supporters but their team is very bad. If we take out a few great names the overall team is bad, very bad. Reaching the quarterfinals was already too much for such a team. England, on other hand, may think that they're strong but they're not. I believe Spain and Italy to be much superior to them, but the English now have a huge big plus which is the fact they're gonna play in Wembley both the semi and (maybe) the final.
That's a bit too much.

Today Novak Djokovic is on the green again. The Serbian champion has practically done an ordinary job so far, if it hadn't been for that first set lost against the number 253 in the world Draper. Two days ago he was perfect against the South African Anderson, who on a fast surface such as grass could have been a real obstacle. Now another round not impossible, against the specialist Kudla, who eliminated Seppi.
Nole is already leading the game and will win without issues.

Djokovic didnt have much problems in this match only in third set where he was down a break. But won in straight sets again. Was even thinking that Djokovic was gone a knock him out badly because Kudla plays from the baseline but he holded himself really well. Djokovic vs Garin should also be an easy win for Djokovic,Garin is a clay type player so not expecting much from him
With this Novak Djovokic only those players who are super strong on grass can do some harm to the Serbian. In fact, so far, the Serbian's been a great profit machine for me. Probably at some point he'll find tough opponents but if he's in the state of Roland Garros he might win Wimbledon as well.

Both Spain and Switzerland are two selections that, before the end of the group phase, seemed to be one step away from elimination. Luis Enrique's Roja, after two disappointing games against Sweden and Poland, was forced to play a final against Slovakia. Vladimir Petkovic's Swiss, on the other hand, was lucky enough against the Turks, in order to hope to remain among the best third teams and get the ticket for the round of 16.
This is not the Spain it used to be a few years back, many of his players are fading away and Swiss doesn't look like a phenomenal contestant.
Still, I believe that experience will prevail and that Spain will proceed forward.

I mean, the comment on the California Lottery tells it all. This people will always have a pre-determined agenda to respect and in fact they don't actually care about the underlying value of bitcoin.

Jeebus that was bizarre. How is people wasting time on the lottery better than investing in literally anything?? I know that the government gets funding through the lottery, but recommending the people to go with lotteries instead of investing? That's definitely one way to make sure the masses stay poor.

You hit it on the head with the comment above.  They want the money and the power that comes with distributing it.  People like Sherman (and his party) want the power to control everyone by controlling their financial lives.  His attitude is that he doesn't believe people are smart enough to make decisions for themselves, but are smart enough to vote dunces like him in to do it for them.  And his "something for nothing" mentality where "someone else" is going to pay for everything is the same mentality that the Democrat slave-owners in the old South had:  I have the right to dispose of the labors of your life merely because I want to do so.  Talk about an evil and immoral philosophy.
Defending their own garden, that's what it's called. The annoying thing is that these people are being paid with taxpayers money to go out in public saying these sort of bullshits.
Great job done by coincenter, I did my small anonymous contribution. Thanks for sharing them mk4, I forgot about them completely.

Ok China left a bitcoin mining blackhole upon us.
But I ain't see any disruption.
Let's move on.

We're once again remembered how technologically incompetent the committee is, and that Brad Sherman is a worm.
I mean, the comment on the California Lottery tells it all. This people will always have a pre-determined agenda to respect and in fact they don't actually care about the underlying value of bitcoin.
Tom Emmer was more pragmatic when he stated that:“Over the last few years I’ve been fortunate to meet with many great crypto and blockchain innovators. A common refrain during our discussion is that they so badly want to develop their crypto and blockchain ideas right here in the United States. But they don’t because of continuing uncertainty with crypto regulation.”
That's the thing.

The Atlanta Hawks won without too much effort game-4  (110-88) of the NBA Finals in the Eastern Conference, bringing the series with Milwaukee to 2-2, with the Bucks deprived in the final of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who left in the third quarter due to a knee injury. On Twitter, the team talks about "hyperextension of the left knee". Antetokounmpo had not given his usual contribution even before the injury, but not even Jrue Holiday (19 points) and Khris Middleton (16) did better with six successful shots on 17 attempted. The two teams will meet again tomorrow in Milwaukee: let's see if the Bucks will get ahead again.

If English supporters have thought about the quarantine problem beforehand than they could have reached Rome in time for the match against Ukraine, otherwise the Italian
"I am very clear: English fans will not be able to come to Italy to watch the England-Ukraine match." This is the categorical comment of the Italian Gov Health Official Andrea Costa before the game scheduled in Rome on July 3 for the quarterfinals of Euro 2020. "There are 5 days of quarantine, the rule must be respected. We cannot take risks. If an English fan leaves today, he will not see the game. Same for those who left yesterday and those who leave today. No English fan arriving in Italy today will be able to go to the stadium to watch the match between England and Ukraine".
I wonder how many English supporters will not respect that rule Cool

Remember Hamsik?
He's a pretty good Napoli midfielder. Today I read if Hamsik officially joins Trabzonspor from Turkish.
He is a Napoli legend who is quite diligent in scoring goals.
Talking about age, Hamsik's no longer a youngster but his qualities are certainly not to be discussed. At Napoli, he's been loved by the fans who have given him several nicknames.
I think in the Turkish championship he can have his say and show his qualities. I don't know if his physical fitness can be considered adequate after several years of Chinese soccer that has certainly not improved him. We will see what Marek can do.

Manuel Locatelli, thanks also to his excellent performances in the European Championship, has become Juventus' number one target in midfield. The negotiation with Sassuolo, however, doesn't look to be easy and quick: after the first meeting between the two Italian clubs there will be at least another soon (it could possibly slip to next week), but Sassuolo's representatives have already made it known that they aren't interested in long-term loans.
The message between the lines is: Juventus, no games, get the cash out.

Camila Giorgi admired in Eastbourne should have no problem getting rid of the Swiss Teichmann in two sets. She won the first set without any problem and the total number of games will probably be less than 22.
Watching it live I can safely recall that it was a safe be for some small profit.

After the game with Germany, even though I don't like England and the way they play, I think now it's one of the favorite teams for winning the cup. Their path towards the final in Wembley is now anything but difficult while on the other side of the table Italy and Spain will have to fight hard to reach the final.
The home advantage could play a crucial role at this point.

I don't think it's about being a newbie or not. It's a matter of being conscious (and cautious) about what we do: if there are pages of T&Cs they are there are for a reason. Most of the time those get written to safeguard the platform itself but reading between the lines and making sure the most important info (kyc, bonuses, country restrictions etc.) are clear it's very important.
Like I said, we don't need to read everything but at least what it's truly important.
280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gresham's law and Bitcoin on: June 29, 2021, 03:39:33 PM
I haven't thought much about this situation, but an interesting thing is happening.
The more Bitcoin gains popularity, the more people will keep Bitcoin as a store of value, because the amount of Bitcoin is limited.
Therefore, the number of coins on the market will decrease.
In recent years it has always happened like that and looking at the data on Glassnode it is clear how the shortage of bitcoin on the exchanges in favor of the long-term holders brings the price to rise inevitably.
Among the exchanges, with the next bull run be prepared to see some blowing up because many operate in fractional reserve. And when the market will bank-run the balance sheets of the exchange (mostly fake) will not be able to honor the positions of customers (most of them).
So hold on to your keys (better multi-sig).
You know we always talk about it.
