1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Qmake issue while compiling bitcoin dependencies for windows on ubuntu on: November 24, 2018, 05:50:48 PM
But the local version of qmake is normaly not a problem since dependency bitcoin Makefile download the packages by itself as we can see in the qt.mk : https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/depends/packages/qt.mk

You could try it again with the following  -prefix $PWD/qtbase

What argumets did you pass when attempting.?

Really need a little bit more information.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Zero Zed Ecosystem, Algorithm and Foundation [x0z] on: November 24, 2018, 04:06:26 PM
Just an update. Instead of editing this one to match the new branding New ANN will be made for Zerozed instead.

We should hopefully have some good stuff to show over the weekend.

https://t.me/zerozed_x0z

Keep up the good work!

Once more people see the potential of this i'm sure it's got to take off.
1124  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: November 24, 2018, 12:58:15 PM
Loving the drop in diff though my concern is if the hashrate continues to decline on BTC are we not running the risk of allowing  2nd chain to catch up in Log2(POW)  if an attacker has been "covert" building upon a 2nd secret chain could this not allow for a much easier 51% attack in the future if things continue to decline.

While it might be a good thing for some in the short term the drop in hash and diff I think there is something we are missing here.
1125  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 251 blocks solved! on: November 24, 2018, 11:41:40 AM
That best share reporting on the pool was found very very early on it's not budged in like 3 months!

I think it was simply deleted for not being a very good post. Obviously seems kinda unfair knowing that there are lot worse posts out there that fly under the radar. Don't worry too much about it though, that just happens sometimes.

Exactly.

Seem to be millions of waste and spam posts here every day that fly 100% under the radar.
No removal of Scams, Ponzi, Fake Sites,  But  a simple comment saying bitcoin cash was always dead is removed..

Poor show bitcoin talk...
1128  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: November 22, 2018, 08:50:18 AM
There was also some talk of them reaching out to samsung floating about but again I don't think they will be happy to work with bitmain if there are large bills outstanding with TSMC and now this crazy "hash" wars.

IPO might just be a way for them to clear some of this debts.

Other thing that makes me think that indeed there are some larger shut-down's happening is the hash rate is falling and has been for past 60 days.
People are claiming the hash is going to the "hashwar" but from looking at the numbers I don't see the switch between BTC and BCH or SV.

With the "sudden" release of the asic boost firmware into the public domain and with the S15 only being sold on the bitmain site in batch 1, 2 per customer while the T15 was 50 units tells me they did a limited run of the chips most likely due to the large outstanding bills to the chip manufacturer.
1129  Other / Meta / Post Deleted - Standing up for bitcoin. on: November 21, 2018, 10:08:51 AM
It seems bitcoin talk has a overzealous quick to click mod who is deleting posts that are standing up for bitcoin.

I made a reply in this topic.

The heading.  Is Bitcoin Cash Dead.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5071829.0

now I hate bitcoin cash so I thought I would outline the fact it was dead from the outset for stealing bitcoins name.

It always was.  since they said BCH is BITCOIN.. it died.  Wink

--

Now I do not know if this is taken the wrong way by a mod or was not read correctly. but its clear I was meaning it was always dead as they tried to take the bitcoin name.

I think the mod has been click happy and not read my post and understood what I was meaning by that comment.

The fact It is a stand up for bitcoin and was removed is concerning to me.

I was in NO WAY advocating that BCH is bitcoin.

1130  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: November 20, 2018, 10:26:30 PM
This is fake news. That footage is from the flood that destroyed a Bitcoin mine.

^Damn, HagssFIN beat me to it.

I'm afraid it's not from the floods.

https://www.trustnodes.com/2018/07/02/flood-destroys-hundreds-gpus-asics-china

That is the floods.

also note no water damage to the miners on the ground.. or wet patches that would suggest flooding.
1131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I bought my 1st BTC 2 weeks ago for $6 500 ("Lucky"). Pls recommend next steps on: November 20, 2018, 09:06:02 PM
I'm so "lucky" person:))) I have been thinking about buying BTC since 2016. And then I did that - 2 weeks ago.
I can't understand why the market is falling down and what is better to do in this case.

Please share your thoughts about the market situation.

Damn, should be hard to see how easy you lost $2,000 in two weeks. But you only need to be patient, it will bump again someday, the bad news is it can take years for the bump. A year ago i read an article who tell us the recipe to become rich with btc, first buy bitcoin and then wait 5 years, that's all.

So put that BTC in a cold wallet and let time do the magic.

I second this advice while very tough to see the value fall once the "bch wars" are over things will calm down and you will see your coins value return.
Just keep in mind you have bought something that is a finite resource and as such will only grow over time.

Cold storage would be advisable to store your coins on or hardware wallet.

Would love to pick your brains over the solar array @philipma1957

I would agree it's happy times to see it in relation to diff but sad to see that pile being dumped like that.
Those miners could have a nice home somewhere else.

I rented 12PH for 5 hours.  Best share 75694530195 not even close.

1PH x 6hours. Getting bored to see the same block and doing calculations on it Smiley.

Block finder with M address on pool might need to contact the OP for payment as it seems to have gone to the pool wallet.

If this is you contact loshia and he will sort it out.

1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 📕📙📗Guidebook for ICO organizers and ICO investors📗📙📕 on: November 20, 2018, 01:15:13 PM
Amazing write up I will be sure to send you some merit for this once I have some more available,

I guess the key factor now in ICO's is to advertise and have linking domains to the ICO.
I noticed a lot of people reaching out to professional advertising and marketing company's for this purpose and many of the ICO calendar  sites too.
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is best Dogecoin wallet? on: November 20, 2018, 11:55:53 AM
Why are high ranking members here telling users to use WEB WALLETS!!

Stop trusting you money to 3rd party..

Download the OFFICIAL Dogecoin wallet yes it might take a while to sync but your keeping your funds safe this way.

I am shocked to see members of such a high rank telling people to use a web wallet where there is a QT available for it.

DO NOT USE ONLINE WALLETS -  DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL DOGE COIN WALLET TO ENSURE YOUR FUNDS ARE SAFE!
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: SEGWIT LTC.TBDICE.ORG 0.5% fee SOLO MM LTC/DGE POOL 3K+ LTC/7K+ DGE blks solved on: November 20, 2018, 11:16:25 AM
Not quite sure what is going on but my miners show much larger best share that is ever reported on the site.

Example..
             BestShare shown in L3+  miner GUI

L3+ 1 = 1815132150
L3+ 2 = 2145199059
L3+ 3 = 220385415
L3+ 4 = 437142508
L3+ 5 = 188073408

Best Share from site,
Best Share
3GLXs...kCR1.solo1 = 195933.07632
3GLXs...kCR1.solo2 = 32733.13993
3GLXs...kCR1.solo3 = 3362.81457
3GLXs...kCR1.solo4   =  6670.26532
3GLXs...kCR1.solo5   =  84747.09296

Any idea?  is this caused by the merged mining with Doge?
1140  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: High Reject Rate - V9's on: November 19, 2018, 11:05:04 PM
Thanks for the link to the topic I seem to have done most of what is here actually having a full blown email debate with bitmain over the issue.
No more bitmain for me this really was the last straw with them.

Seems there are lots of people with this issue on the V9's which tells me for sure this is 100% bitmain shoddy workings.
I noticed that the controller boards are completely different from any other machines I have had they do no have any beagle boards on them and seem to be of a new type.

I find it strange there is no reporting of HW errors on the device thought this could also be a dirty trick from bitmain to mask high error rates in the machines as this 45% reject ratio seems to be consistent from the reports.
