421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another crypto youtuber given a ban for breach of terms of service. on: April 24, 2020, 06:48:02 PM
Funny how none of the BSV channels are being removed....

Just a side note most or all of the above have been a target by a well known figure openly speaking about bout Tone on a number of occasions from the BSV side.

I wonder if they have anything to do with the removals I highly doubt youtube algo's just go bonkers and start removing channels that have for a long period of time been on the right side of youtube's rules.

What is more possible is someone creating a tool that auto flag's specific users content as soon as it's live then continues  to report older videos as harmful.

Something to think about anyway.

I hope the above channels can have manual reviews as many of them have been very helpful and give good advice to there viewers all apart from the above one in connection to the bitconnect he should be banned for life.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Very laggy/choppy running/syncing of Bitcoin Core 0.19.1 on VMware Workstation 1 on: April 24, 2020, 06:33:33 PM
1. I can't find the bitcoin.conf file at the specified folder path

2. What do you mean by (below sample) ?

Thank you

Check this path %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
Or open "start" >"run" (Or press windows key+R) and then type this or copy and paste this %APPDATA%\Bitcoin
It will open the Bitcoin folder and if you can't find any bitcoin.conf under that folder you can make your own or generate a config from here below.

Here's my sample config of bitcoin.conf generated from that tool

Code:
# Generated by https://jlopp.github.io/bitcoin-core-config-generator/

# This config should be placed in following path:
# %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf

# [core]
# Set database cache size in megabytes; machines sync faster with a larger cache. Recommend setting as high as possible based upon machine's available RAM.
dbcache=10000

# [Sections]
# Most options automatically apply to mainnet, testnet, and regtest networks.
# If you want to confine an option to just one network, you should add it in the relevant section.
# EXCEPTIONS: The options addnode, connect, port, bind, rpcport, rpcbind and wallet
# only apply to mainnet unless they appear in the appropriate section below.

# Options only for mainnet
[main]

# Options only for testnet
[test]

# Options only for regtest
[regtest]

You can copy this config since I am basing on your ram memory. Reducing or increasing can affect the syncing process and memory usage as what I said above.

Or just make your own bitcoin.conf(using notepad and save as bitcoin.conf) and only put this "dbcache=10000" inside the bitcoin.conf. restart the syncing process(reopen the bitcoin core)

The above config generator is a fantastic resource thank you for sharing that I had been looking for something like this for some time now really help's to speed up config changes and gives a good overview on what each setting is.

Thanks

Great spot Mikey so it looks like nicehash are again playing dirty tricks in the space.

I'm surprised anyone would even mine there let alone install there tools for mining on there machines after this.

https://krebsonsecurity.com/2019/10/mariposa-botnet-author-darkcode-crime-forum-admin-arrested-in-germany/

The author of a "Botnet" that was taken down in one of the biggest cybercrime forum's of all time Darkode the main author behind the malware is one of the leading guys over at NiceHash.

I don't see nicehash paying back the 18% they owe and I'm almost sure the hack was a inside job conducted with the "help" from some of Matjaž “Iserdo” Škorjanc's criminal contacts from his malware days.

I think if people scratched the surface of nicehash just a little more you would see the dark seedy underbelly of it quite quickly.

Also would you be installing there application made by a known malware developer..Who know's what the nicehash application is actually doing while hashing away on your machine.
424  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wirex- Bitcoin Debit Card | Buy Bitcoin | Mobile Banking | Send Money on: April 24, 2020, 05:37:37 PM
Well I can't really fault Wirex so far I have made banking payments to them a number of times now with quick deposit's into the account I also have never had any issues with them when withdrawing funds or having refunds processed onto my account.

My only issue is there market price is off from the major exchanges if they could make a better price for there coins buying and selling I would say it would make the experience much better.

Been using them now for around 2 years without incident or issue.

Probably one of the best crypto to card providers in the market IMO but that's just my personal take I do know of others that have had issues along the way.

Keep up the good work Wirex.

And what is we keep seeing by these tards?

Clean code and scale?

Some scale that 14 hours for 30 blocks! LMAO.

I wonder if we're starting to see the S19 Pro's hit the network now after the drop in hash past few weeks it seems to be rebounding now so my thoughts were someone turned off and upgraded.

Interesting times!
427  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Over paying for hash power, why? on: April 21, 2020, 03:04:37 PM
When needs must people do crazy things if they are trading they would need clean coins to move into the exchanges they may have thought it might be a idea to mine coins and pay the premium for the clean fresh coins in return.

I could be wrong but can't think of many other people who would have this type of money to burn up like this and not really care as they already made a mint but need more clean coins to move to the exchanges.

Also there "mixing" efforts failed as some exchanges managed to freeze funds previously I read in a news item.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $3 billion in 'dust' to enter the market will push the bull run past the halving on: April 21, 2020, 02:25:07 PM
So they keep the stable coins waiting and instead of buying now while the price is low, they are waiting for .. a certain block to pass in order to buy?
No. If they do that it'll be just a psychological tactic that'll actually do a big scale pump and dump. Which is not unusual at halving events.
Imho the real price growth may happen only when miners will not be willing anymore to sell cheap the much more hardly earned coins.
The exact same thing which is happening to the oil market.
People were waiting for it to reach negative territory looking to reap on an opportunity to get massive gains once it recovers. And it will recover because the world runs its global businesses on it. Sad

I often wonder if small companies sometimes make deliberately outlandish statements just to garner media attention.  It now doesn't matter whether their analysis is right or wrong, they've got their free publicity now.

My personal opinion is that the dollar figure you place on so-called "stablecoins" is utterly meaningless because many of them likely aren't fully backed (as the centralised companies that control them would have you believe).  And even if they were fully backed by real-world assets, it's still just a cheap duplication of the value of the underlying assets.  You're literally trading IOUs for something that may not even exist and have to place full trust in a company that, not only does it really exist, but also that you have a genuine and tangible claim to the funds the stablecoin supposedly represents.  Why would you even get involved with something that shady?

Stablecoins are a scam.  One of the most ridiculous things in all of crypto.

Stablecoins are a scam, as we have all witnessed what tether has done and is continuing to do to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole.
They do cause massive disruptions in the price when there are a sell off and a buy back on a whim. Thus the sharp volatility swings in the crypto market ever since the concept of stablecoins came into existence. Angry

I agree with rdbase on this, I also think 95% of the stable coin's out there are a scam with very little to no backing behind them other that "say so" and speculation.   The amount of tether being printed and passed about to the exchanges is a pretty scary amount also the fact tether is not only on the bitcoin omni layer but spread out over other chain;s too means it's almost impossible to get the accurate number of tether actually in circulation.

There would be nothing to stop a malicious actor crashing the price of bitcoin the scooping up large amounts of coins with this worthless non-backed fantasy stable coin the fact these things have NEVER been audited should sound the alarm bell to everyone I fear we will see one of these stable coins effect the market in a unforeseen way in the future.

Then everyone's jaw's will hit the floor like dam.. didn't see that coming.

Hot tip.. Don't user tether for ANYTHING...
429  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Over paying for hash power, why? on: April 21, 2020, 02:16:36 PM
This could also be the plus token scammers cleaning there coins via mining getting fresh coins out and putting the dirty out to nicehash.  With nicehash's past with unscrupulous individuals it would not surprise me one bit if this is what's going on.

434  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wirex- Bitcoin Debit Card | Buy Bitcoin | Mobile Banking | Send Money on: April 13, 2020, 04:10:12 PM
[I've already argued with them when they've asked again for ID, weeks ago. Now they ask about address documents.

I have got my card last year and for more then a half year they do not accept my address documents which I have send xx times and variations.
I have loadet the card with LTC but now I want it back and do no more business with this company because of incompetence.
How can I get my LTC back?

Ask the support to escalate the ticket I can't say I have had many issues with Wirex and the support are normally very good.

Best bet is to message asking to have your issue escalated to a team leader or management.

Gladly his post has been deleted now. We should report and ignore about his troll. If he come back to trolling about bruno in many times, IMHO he should get banned. This forum doesn't need troller

The post appears to have been removed - you don't seem to have archived it so the poster has gotten away with whatever it was without any proof remaining.

We have @LoyceV http://loyce.club/archive/posts/5421/54213500.html

Yea it's not something I wanted to really quote on as it's very disrespectful but thanks for adding the context of why I wanted to draw attention to this.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is our chance on: April 13, 2020, 03:42:05 PM
I would agree we are also starting to see the emergence of CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency)  The bank of England just set forth there proposal for this fully tracked digital currency people will soon start to realize that they enjoy the freedoms that anonymous payments give them and once they know that they will be fully tracked by the new system people will flock to Bitcoin as the solution.

I already jumped in the worm hole the other side is great!

437  Other / Meta / Re: BAN THIS GUY - SICK PERSON - ADMINS TAKE NOTE!!! on: April 13, 2020, 03:27:52 PM
Just report and move on. Surely the mods would know how to handle this.

Already reported but it's about time this was put out for some support to remove them for good.
438  Other / Meta / Re: BAN THIS GUY - SICK PERSON - ADMINS TAKE NOTE!!! on: April 13, 2020, 03:25:36 PM
Thank you, it's the last straw for me this type of thing and it should not be tolerated anymore if the community do not act on this the we can't call our-self's a community anymore,  It's a downright disgrace to do something like this in my view and I am sure many others will share in this mindset.

It also show's how sick some individuals are like over at that camp.

This type of thing is not what we want to see in our community a lot of members are sad at the passing of this member and we have the BSV troll making out that is "funny"..

Take action Theymos I don't think anyone in the community want's these people here any longer this is the final straw for them I think now is the time to take action...

Disrespectful, Distasteful and a down right DISGRACE!!!!
440  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank Of England (CBDC) Central Bank Digital Currency - on: April 13, 2020, 02:39:05 PM
In the document there is a section that says the bank will assume no risk if they go down this route unlike cash if someone was to take our a fraudulent loan or credit card the back could basically wipe the funds from existence giving them a no risk model going froward.

There are many worrying things that may come from this proposal going forward but why should a bank be allowed to assume a "no risk" position in the market.

I can see bitcoin really taking off if they move forward with this plan as people wake up and see there will be no financial privacy after the cash is removed from society.

I don't think the words "Bitcoin Solves This"  have ever has so much meaning as they do right now in the economic climate we're entering.
