1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][INTRO] VEIAG IS THE FIRST REAL HARD ASSET BACKED TOKEN ✅ GOING LIVE ✅ on: July 21, 2018, 07:27:29 AM
Sooo......VEIAG.

In the spirit of the (surreal) white paper 1.3:

V is for Verbiage.
The whole thing reads like an incontinent bot, programmed to string together meaningless buzzphrases. Does a white paper really need an eighteen bullet point analysis of the steps necessary to run a dairy farm? I think not.

E is for Ethics.
Yeah, the UN thing. This "Global Compact". Aspirational phrases galore, high moral ground, all very UN. And all it takes to grab the credibility of "membership" is a registered company (in Russia in VEIAG's case, why that?) and a meaningless letter and BAM, you can flaunt the UN logo as much as you want.

I is for Impenetrable.
Strip out the wordz and "Where's the beef?"
Where's the core profit drivers?
The plan is they're just going to parachute into some of the biggest industries in the world (pharma, farming), analyse shit with their reams of experts and watch the profits roll in? Where's the CV's of the "Team" to give any confidence that they have any experience in these sort of global industry initiatives? Is some Russian hasbeen ex bureaucrat 'advisor' their farming expert?

A is for Ambition.
A $200,000,000 ICO, that's some ambition... Nearly $35 million of it being spent on buying land and building a "Research Institute" and "Headquarters"? Where and why?
After all the "allocations" only 39% of the ico amount will actually be left for project implementation. Sounds like one of those charities that actually eats more of their income in overhead than they use on the ground. The sort with $$$$ CEO packages and fleets of limos. Top heavy NGO flavor bureaucratic corporate structures are sooo 20th century.

G is for gold.
They make a big play of this, this "hard backed" by gold thing. (Once again, see "Verbiage", an anal obsession with the redemption process minutaie. RBR, CBR, VDM, BRA, VRB, WTF?)
But of course, the idea that there is some link between a crypto token and the mighty security of gold isn't a new idea. The most memorable would be Ruja Ignatova and Aurum, that ended well lol.
Truth is, it's meaningless. IF this thing ever functioned and became profitable it would be irrelevant and if/when it doesn't then it doesn't matter anyway.

Tl,dr: Right from the pseudo Masonic, old school "official" flavor of the VEIAG logo and acronym thru the Bullshit Baffles Brains White paper and the meaningless UN "accreditation", to the large Bounty/Airdrop prioritization even before a website or white paper, to pics of the CV-free guyz posing by a boat, to the illiterate ALL CAPS ranting, this whole thing smacks of massive cognitive dissonance.

Yeah, not bots, but made by the much maligned, young, poor English speaking but definitely human, newbies.
We all know them, the irritating kids who are enthusiastic about crypto for all the "wrong" reasons, according to their elders and betters with their elder and better elitism; reasons like wanting to actually possess something of their own.
Very definitely elder myself, I find it rather poignant to read a "pajeet" chat sometimes.
In a bounty summary thread recently they were doing pragmatic mutual support, mixed with moaning about how many times they never got paid or the tokens were worthless, but they're going to keep on trying.
They have no idea how "Merit" works, much less the surreal Trust System (me, neither) and enduring ritual abuse if they ask about it means time is better spent retweeting for a new ICO, or ten new ICO's because that means ten times the chance of adding to their proudly accumulated "portfolio" of alt lottery tokens.
These "morons" and "idiotic weaklings" are the grass roots of future cryptocurrency.
Their generation is likely to be the first one to live in a world of widespread adoption, with all the possibilities that can bring and these kids will drive it.
Early adopting Geeks, idealists, whales and speculators, who are all of a sudden fiat millionaires should count their blessings for being in the right place at the right time, not assume they have the keys to the Crypto Kingdom for ever and ever.
This BCT forum is a broad church, all human life is here, including the young, poor, uneducated and unwhite.
By all means kick the ass out of here what you perceive threatens your forum needs and values, spams, scams, whatever, but don't chuck the babies out with the bathwater.

Involved in the launch of that ridiculous crap VEIAG and now copy pasting Arbitao's bullshit despite them pulling their ICO date.

And it's *pooling* not *pulling*.

Guys, it's really SCAM-project. Look at the team, members of the team are working in another projects and they have nothing to do with V.E.I.A.G. Be careful

I don't think so, I really trust the project as I have not noticed any signal to make me believe it's scam

Hahaha, Mr. 28 minute old newbie, so that's your default approach is it, you "really trust" anything and anybody until you "notice a signal"?

Tell me what you "really trust" about VEIAG?
For example, do you "really trust" that there is a person called Daniel Mahmeg and, if he exists, then he runs this scheme?
What else do you "really trust"?
Airdrops?
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][INTRO] 🌎 VEIAG IS THE FIRST REAL HARD ASSET BACKED TOKEN ✅ GOING LIVE ✅ on: July 07, 2018, 11:24:33 AM

An interesting picture from one of your Indonesian shills.
Tell us, Daniel Mahmeg, "CEO and CEO Executive", how many failures have you had so far?
I detect one:
1) The failure to be a real person who has any internet presence whatsoever.

Or maybe, Joseph Tartamella could help.
How many failures, or successes, have you had OPERATIVE OPERATION CHAIR COO Joseph?
Or are you aother "person" in the VIEAG hierarchy with no internet identity of any sort?

Possibly your "Creative Director" Thea Wigglesworth has created them?

When she isn't being a choreographer in Brooklyn, anyways....

Just in case you're not getting my drift, I think that VEIAG looks like a pure scam, using an easily obtained registration with a UN Agency for credibility.

1129  Other / Meta / Re: Idea: Courses on: July 06, 2018, 08:43:34 AM
My initial reaction is along the lines of "Wow, massively ambitious, good luck with that".

As you raise this structural problem regarding the current forum format, it has to be asked whether the new forum software could be more suitable for this?
Could there be a way of getting something up and running by using the current resources, i.e. authoritative existing posts, collected together by some mechanism (maybe a use for the merit system?) into something akin to a dynamic "Read this" sticky for each sub forum?
Just a couple of thoughts.

How many people are working this project full time currently?

Dear okspam, that's a good question, we currently have a team of 38 in 4 different countries working full time!

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate in asking. Thanks

Best regards,

How is this large overhead cost currently financed?

Maybe you missed my last question, I'll repeat it

Hello everyone, My name is Daniel and I would like to welcome everyone to the VEIAG Intro thread.

Please don't hesitate to comment ask questions or just simply give us your thoughts.

Best regards,

Is that Daniel as in Daniel Mahmeg, the CEO?

Another Press Release, from the same wire service that gave us Big Ben, seems to indicate confusion in the Arbitao ranks regarding their location.
Maybe Mr. Bratcher has been partaking too much of the sweltering London sun, or has read about it in his boiler room.

Edited out the fluff, apart from the bit which still says that distribution of tokens will start the day before the press release.... I mean, didn't they read about their own "crypto winter" postponement? Too much winter sun?

Arbitao, Groundbreaking Cryptocurrency Trading Arbitrage Solution, Launches ICO
Posted: Jul 03, 2018 4:55 AM BST
LONDON, UK – Jul 2nd, 2018 – It’s a great time to be a cryptocurrency investor: Arbitao, the brand new arbitrage trading solution for cryptocurrency markets, is proud to announce its ICO for its proprietary token, ATAO.
The Arbitao ICO is set to commence on July 22nd, 2018, and conclude on September 9th, 2018.

<snippety snip snip>

A total of 800,000,000 ATAO will be distributed starting July 1st, 2018. The Arbitao ICO’s timeline can be viewed on the company’s website.

<snip>

Media Contact
Company Name: Arbitao
Contact Person: Stefan Bratcher, CMO
Email: Send Email
City: London E2 7DP
Country: United States
Website: https://www.arbitao.com/

In that little snippet we have four different locations.

1)
NEWS25 is in Texas. That's in the USA.
Of course, we live in a global community these days, but what is the point of using an American press outlet unless you are targeting American suckers investment?.
I don't know if Mr. Bratcher has noticed but at this point in time, the fascist pig Zionist Conspiracy SEC is not well disposed to get-rich-quick schemes involving ICO's, pretend currency tokens and passive investment.
This Arbitao scheme doesn't just fail the Howey Test, it never got thru the door for the interview.

2)
Headline: LONDON UK
Impressed.

3) A detailed zip (post) code, London E2 7DP.
This is an area of London called Shoreditch which, after many twists and historical turns has been subject to large scale gentrification this century.
E2 7DP refers to Redchurch Street particularly, a not very attractive thoroughfare of hipster shops, graffiti, "ethnic" influences and large scale building work, essentially a mix of ground floor retail with seedy (or megabuck gentrified) apartments above.
It's walking distance from the City of London "Square Mile" and half an hour's taxi ride from Big "Scaffold" Ben.

There's a good crawler site in the UK called 192.com, usually contains up to date info on addresses and occupants.
They list twenty businesses in Redchurch Street.
No Arbitao amongst them.

4) Country: United States.
Well I know the old Mother Country's having a hard time just now, but when did we become the 51st State?

That Arbitao may have some form of London presence is, however, possible. Everyone needs a back office, even people with dishonorable intentions.
There was a job advertisement with some London agencies a while back.
(This also brings in a fifth location, postcode NW1)
The extensive requirements specified

For a wage that, in that part of London, would require sleeping under cardboard and eating out of bins

may have been a contributory factor in the abandonment of their BitcoinTalk campaign once real questions needed answering, along the lines of

H/t to suchmoon for cat memes.

1135  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Cloud bitcoin mining with no minimal withdrawal amount [Official Thread] on: July 04, 2018, 01:06:57 AM
Not only is the price of the bitcoins increasing, but also the complexity of their mining. It is much safer to invest in bitcoin, it will still grow in value in the near future. I have contracts in cloud services, for today they are all unprofitable.

Can't fully agree with you.
Let's imagine the future: you invest now 6k$ in 1 BTC and hold that till it's become worth 100k$, lets imagine that in 1 year period, what means after 1 year you will have the same 1 BTC.
And another option: you invest the same amount of money in mining powers, so in 1 year period your 1 BTC will turn into 1,2 BTC (120k$).

That is specious.

Quote
you invest now 6k$ in 1 BTC and hold that till it's become worth 100k$, lets imagine that in 1 year period, what means after 1 year you will have the same 1 BTC.

You will have invested dollars originally so you calculate your profit in dollars, which would be $94k, ROI of 1566%.

Quote
you invest the same amount of money in mining powers

You are not "investing in mining powers", you are paying 1 BTC 'rent' in exchange for hash proceeds. so at the end of the contract your original 1BTC is gone, all you have left are the accumulated payouts.

Quote
so in 1 year period your 1 BTC will turn into 1,2 BTC (120k$)

No-one knows what eye watering difficulty there would be if BTC went to $100k, or the cost of profitable mining equipment, so how can you possibly say this? Where do you get these figures from? Show your calculations.

Your ROI calculator is misleading and meaningless in its headline numbers, because of the all important electricity cost (hidden in small font). Why do you default it to a Bitcoin price of $11,516??
This is the real situation as it stands

Fwiw, I have some sympathy for small miners in the current circumstances, but misleading potential investors is wrong.
No-one knows what the future will bring, including you.

Browsing around on this forum, I have to wonder why one would bother with a mining ponzi these days. Seems like the hot new get rich quick scam is promoting nonsense ICOs by paying off shills to post fake reviews on reddit/telegram/facebook/twitter. Its so blatant and even institutionalized on this forum, that this is condoned just boggles my mind. It does remind me why I turned my back on this forum and it explains what Im seeing on the other places.

Yes, I had about a year away from here too, it gets to you after a while.
It was good timing, in hindsight, as I walked away from most everything else as well, then came back to "civilization" and my trusty paper wallet to find BTC was in five figures and the tabloid newspapers, so it was quite a logical thing to do to sell it. Didn't buy a yacht tho...

But yeah, I also came back to the tsunami of ICO's and airdrops and bounties and thought WTF?
