1141  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: December 26, 2014, 12:13:58 PM
as soon as we clean up the crypto trash (scams, schemes, and foolishness) we will produce billionaires, trillionaires, and quads (quadriliionaries).

So essentially get rid of everything this community is made of.

Typically that's the way things grow, just after the 'new world' is discovered, often times bad guys get to rule freely in this new space until such time that they realize that in order to make this space worth having you've got to protect it (security), value it, own it, and have rules of ownership, and enjoyment.

As long as things aren't safe investment will continue to go elsewhere.  2013 showed lots of promise for the cryptocurrency world, 2014 lost lots of those gain financially and more importantly in terms of hope.   All because of security issues.

Warren Buffet saying bitcoin is a scam:

http://www.businessinsider.com/warren-buffett-money-tips-for-2015-2014-12

How is this going to affect price?

Does Warren Buffet go in for surgery and tell the doctor where to make the incision? No.

He knows absolutely zero about Bitcoin. Wtf makes you think his opinion matters? Because he has money?

I know some fucking complete fucking retards worth a lot of money. People with excellent business sense...but that doesn't make them experts on everything, now does it?

People tend to give their respect to people solely because they have money. It's quite sad.

You, yes YOU, solely being a member of this forum, already know more about Bitcoin than Warren Buffet.

You, yes YOU, solely being a member of this forum, already know more about Bitcoin than Warren Buffet.

100% agree
1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: December 26, 2014, 05:33:08 AM
...it simply doesn't fit his investment profile or personal character.

No.  There are many things Buffet doesn't understand or invest in.
His taking the time time to comment on Bitcoin & call it shit shit likely means just that--he thinks it's shit.
Don't overanalyze Smiley

Clearly Buffet is speaking of Bitcoin more out of ignorance than intelligence:

“Stay away from it. It’s a mirage, basically. … It’s a method of transmitting money. It’s a very effective way of transmitting money and you can do it anonymously and all that. A check is a way of transmitting money, too. Are checks worth a whole lot of money just because they can transmit money? Are money orders? You can transmit money by money orders. People do it. I hope Bitcoin becomes a better way of doing it, but you can replicate it a bunch of different ways and it will be. The idea that it has some huge intrinsic value is just a joke in my view.”

He's comparing bitcoin's system to checks and money orders instead ACHs and wires.    Nevertheless it cost more to process a $5000 check than $5000 worth of BTC, a postal money order cost more, a bank money order cost more, an ACH cost less but is faster, and a wire cost more than them all and faster than them all but still not faster than a BTC transaction and yet the btc transaction goes far faster.

Based on that alone, his intelligence about the value of BTC falls flat on it's face.  Everyone know time is money, which is the only reason why people are willing to pay so much for a wire transfer, or a cash advance on a credit card.

BTC is not a consideration for Buffet because its 'none of his business', it's not what he does, and he could do without it -- for now anyway.

Cryptocurrency is making its way around very fast, anything tied to the internet has a way of doing that. 2015 will be a better year for crypto, but as soon as we clean up the crypto trash (scams, schemes, and foolishness) we will produce billionaires, trillionaires, and quads (quadriliionaries). No other industry can produce such wealth.   All we need is security, real security and mega wealth is on the way.

1143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: December 26, 2014, 05:03:43 AM
He's been saying bitcoin's shit for ages. His 2015 advice is no different to his 2014 advice.

AGES?  really, "ages"?   come on ...  Bitcoin is barely 5 years old, only really active for 2 years (2013 and 2014).
BTC nor the internet has been around for ages, heck not even electricity has been around for ages.

As for Buffet,  if he has the pleasure to enjoy another 20 year of sanity, by that time BTC will have become
a stable, reliable, safe, and responsible currency worthy of a Buffet nod.  Until then, there's no need to look
to Buffet for his blessing; as indicated above, it simply doesn't fit his investment profile or personal character.

1146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~Many Game Servers ~ Disruptive Game Currency ~ On Bloomberg ~MMO on: December 25, 2014, 03:49:35 PM
Dear HYPER community,

On behalf of The Havekes Project, The Einsteinium Foundation, and EMC2 (the coin) thank you for supporting our crowdfunding campaign as a donor sponsor.

For those who may be unfamiliar, EMC2 is working on a crowd funding campaign to help raise funds for scientific research, it will start soon.  Use this link to see the campaign page coming together: http://www.indiegogo.com/project/preview/f5c49cab

Hyperfuture recognized the opportunity to promote your coin as a sponsor and signed onto the campaign early (before the start).   Now your coin not only received the benefit of recognition during the campaign but also during the run-up as well.

You are encouraged to also write a 200 to 1000 word article about your coin or community for inclusion into our intercoin publication The Einsteinium News (www.Einsteinium.biz) .

Thanks again for your donation and campaign participation, please call on us when you feel we can strategically support your coin in your upcoming projects.

Sincerely,

Armis
President
Einsteinium Foundation

HYPERfuture and HYPER Community;

Thanks for your support of The Havekes Project.  Indeed your donation, your campaign participation, as well as your
coin's impact on the CC world and gaming industry should be recognized and appreciated, keep up the great work.

The official HYPER address for Havekey Project donations is: HE1EdHGs2WcAk8doDeqMMkjFyL4eiCvVy6.

Considering rate fluctuations over the campaign period we maintain values in native currency, in this case HYPER coins.

Also, please provide a link to the image you want included in the your sponsor logo area of the campaign.

Dear Einsteinium Community;

It was recently reported that over the past 2 days the Havekes Project video at youtube registered 300 views, 3 comments and 7 likes.

This is really good news, this activity places our video higher within the 'science' search matrix at youtube.  The target is 300 views in 3 days,
that was accomplished, where possible 10 comments and 10 likes in that same period of time will add another boost to our ranking -- let's
reach that too.

Now when someone searches for "Einsteinium Foundation Science Research Grant Application For Robbert Havekes PhD" or portion thereof
this video will be on the search list, additionally our keywords will also be factored in.  Given that youtube is part of Google and Google is the #1
search engine, that also means if you do the same search in any search engine our video should return high within the search ranking.

Here are 3 distinct ways to help the campaign by way of the youtube video:

1)  View it, 'like' it, make a comment there, like any other comment, favor it too

2)  Connect it with other relevant videos at youtube.  If you notice, at the end of every video you watch you are provided with other videos to view next.  That list of suggested videos is based primarily on what other viewer watched after viewer the subject video -- that is how the connection was made.  So it would be great if after watching this video that you then searched for another video having to do with science research, cryptocurrency, sleep disorders, science philanthropy, the University of Pennsylvania, (you get the idea) so that the Havekes Project video has good connections.

and

3)  Do a general search (not a video search) in google, yahoo, and bing for: Einsteinium Foundation Science Research Grant Application For Robbert Havekes PhD,
then click on the link that is associated with our video even if it is not presently at the top of the ranking.

This campaign is experiencing early successes it would be great if we could get some more volunteers.
1148  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to Fight a PayPal ChargeBack scam? on: December 25, 2014, 01:36:52 AM
Did you send the item to his address listed on his eBay and PayPal and was it verified? Sadly it seems with PayPal anyone can say they didn't authorise the payment whether they did or not and get away with it.

Nah, his PayPal account was non-us verified.

He had 5 feedback on his eBay account. I thought having a tracking number could save me from this however it seems like he used a fake address. There was another seller that also got charge backed scammed from the same buyer.

When the claim is for an unauthorized purchase your saving grace is 'Seller protection'  if the address is indicated as 'confirmed' by Paypal then you have permission by them to mail to that address even if it is "fake".   Now depending on the amount of the item you need delivery confirmation and or signature confirmation.

But like everyone else has told you, try not to deal with Paypal, that is the smartest advice.

I searched up the address on Google this time (not google map) and it showed a business with the buyer's last name. I'm just hoping that "Registered Post International" has signature on delivery included.

What would be the best form of payment to accept on eBay?

Again it doesn't matter if the address if real or fake, the only thing that matters is how Paypal recognizes the address.  Go to the paypal transaction. look at the area above the shipping address, if it says: "not eligable" for seller protection, then you won't win.   If it says: "ok to ship"  or "confirmed" (in green) or "eligible"  for seller protection  the next step is making sure you have shipping confirmation and/or signature confirmation  depending on the value of the goods purchased.

As for ebay, essentially the recommendation is not to use ebay.  but if you do use ebay read and understand all about your rights, join the groups there to expain things to you in terms you will understand.  otherwise you will pay via the school of hard knocks  either way you will learn.

I'm guessing the merchandise was insured, from what it sounds like the intended receiver didn't get the merchandise, as such you might have an insurance claim.  Read your insurance coverage policy then make a claim that fits.

good luck and merry christmas

1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Crowd Funding Perk Sponsorship. An Excellent Opportunity To Promote Your Coin on: December 25, 2014, 01:21:41 AM
Sponsor Perks are opportunities for coins and businesses to promote themselves within our crowd funding campaign.

EMC2 is working on a crowd funding campaign to raise funds for scientific research, http://igg.me/at/The-Havekes-Project/x/1532302   The campaign is designed to include sponsor perks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5NOAuyPqL4).

Clearly, this is an opportunity to promote your coin or business as a sponsor of the campaign.   Take a look at the sponsor logos and the perks to see how your entity would be promoted.  Let me know if you are interested and to what degree.

To get started please issue a 'pledge post' here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.0 indicating that you are willing to sponsor the crowd funding campaign for the Havekes Project to the extent of ________ [coin to promote].   Also include a link to your logo image, and up to 50 characters of text to be added to the perk listing.   That is were your coin or business promotion starts.

I will reply with an official donation address specific to the coin you indicate; your donated CC will be placed in a native wallet, and a perk will be created for the donation.

All coins will listed and ranked according to combined donation worth.

At the end of the campaign all funds are distributed as perks to donors to to the campaign beneficiary as a donation.

We will mention your coin and or business multiple times throughout the campaign, it will be mentioned here, at the EMC2 bitcointalk page, via EMC2 twitter, facebook, reddit, IRC, in The Einsteinium News.

Greeting Hyper, thanks for responding to my invitation to sponsor our crowd funding campaign.

Here's how it works, you supply items that you wish to donate to the campaign, upon receipt we will create a perk for the merchandise and include your entity name and perhaps some text info to the listings connecting your entity to the perk.  We will also add your logo to the campaign.  The greater the value of the donation the higher your logo will be in the sponsorship logos image.  What would you like to donate and which of your entity images would you like to include in the campaign?

is there anyone can take over this coin.just like faircoin.

We offered to take over, the developer responded to our submission but didn't follow-up.  We followed up numerous times, including now.

We are currently revitalizing EMC2, it's a slow and steady process of building floors instead of taking moon trips.  When a coin crashes such as EMC2, EBT, or Community coin, the community loses faith, hope, and trust in the coin.  Redevelopment isn't easy or fast as such is far less attractive than most other coins, even new ones.  We know this and we work though the healing process.  This doesn't happen just because the clock ticks it happens because good admins take the time to shore up things that are actually meaningful to a coins longterm development like utility.

Let me know when you are ready for us to work with you.

Indiegogo was selected to do our first crowd funding effort because I've had some success with them in the past and they are tops (#2) in the industry.  Kickstarter is #1 however their platform does not facilitate this type of campaign.

The Einsteinium foundation is a non-profit organization domiciled in Canada.  Indiegogo has a discount fee structure for non-profit organizations based in the US with verified 501.c 3 status.  I sent them a letter asking that they consider providing us with a discount considering that we are a non-profit or, just not US domiciled.   In that same email I asked if they would provide for acceptance of cryptocurrency considering that we we intend on doing many campaigns and many other CC will want to participate in our campaigns -- three have already signed on as sponsor-perk providers.

Here is the response we received: ...

The fact you attempted this makes me very happy  Kudos emc2 group

Well done on the reminder what cryptos can do, man if indiegogo take coins .. we are going to tell everyone you did it  Grin

This project fundraiser is bigger than EMC2 potentially, indiegogo do not need to take coins for it to work, I am sure we can rustle up a few thousand bucks in a month to go with the other donations from any willing party in whatever coin they like. Doge being No 1 target really, shibes are nice.

if a 100 people can spare $5, that's a start already Smiley

Eventually Indiegogo WILL incorporate CC into their payment option system, with the combined strength of the cause-coin consortium (inter-coin committee) it will become a reality sooner rather than later.

As for the The Havekes Project crowd funding campaign if anyone wants to take a look at the campaign page as it develops just send me a PM.

Lauren, Dec 23 11:40:

Hi Armis,

Thanks for reaching out and checking in about this. Unfortunately, we are only able to offer a discount on Indiegogo's fees for verified 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in the United States. This is because we use a separate payment processor for these campaigns that only allows tax exempt status to US nonprofits.

We are also unable to accept ay crypto-currencies at this time. Campaigns on Indiegogo can only accept Paypal and direct credit or debit cards for contributions. We use certified 3rd party payment processors that are not working with crypto-currencies at this time. This is great feedback however and I'll be sure to pass it along that there is a request for different currency types. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Cheers,

Lauren
