Indiegogo was selected to do our first crowd funding effort because I've had some success with them in the past and they are tops (#2) in the industry. Kickstarter is #1 however their platform does not facilitate this type of campaign. The Einsteinium foundation is a non-profit organization domiciled in Canada. Indiegogo has a discount fee structure for non-profit organizations based in the US with verified 501.c 3 status. I sent them a letter asking that they consider providing us with a discount considering that we are a non-profit org just not US domiciled. In that same email I asked if they would provide for acceptance of cryptocurrency considering that we intend on doing many campaigns and many other CC will want to participate in our campaigns -- three have already signed on as sponsor-perk providers. Here is the response we received: Lauren, Dec 23 11:40:
Hi Armis,
Thanks for reaching out and checking in about this. Unfortunately, we are only able to offer a discount on Indiegogo's fees for verified 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in the United States. This is because we use a separate payment processor for these campaigns that only allows tax exempt status to US nonprofits.
We are also unable to accept ay crypto-currencies at this time. Campaigns on Indiegogo can only accept Paypal and direct credit or debit cards for contributions. We use certified 3rd party payment processors that are not working with crypto-currencies at this time. This is great feedback however and I'll be sure to pass it along that there is a request for different currency types. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Cheers,
Lauren Customer Happiness Indiegogo (www.indiegogo.com)Please keep in mind that with community engagement on the issue eventually cryptocurrency will be accepted.

The fact you attempted this makes me very happy Kudos emc2 group Well done on the reminder what cryptos can do, man if indiegogo take coins .. we are going to tell everyone you did it This project fundraiser is bigger than EMC2 potentially, indiegogo do not need to take coins for it to work, I am sure we can rustle up a few thousand bucks in a month to go with the other donations from any willing party in whatever coin they like. Doge being No 1 target really, shibes are nice. if a 100 people can spare $5, that's a start already

As for the The Havekes Project crowd funding campaign if anyone wants to take a look at the campaign page as it develops just send me a PM.

Use this link to see the campaign page coming together: http://www.indiegogo.com/project/preview/f5c49cabHere is an opportunity to promote your coin as a sponsor of the campaign. Merry Christmas to all." feel free to encourage other coins to participate as well. feel free to encourage other coins to participate as well. please comment on the video and 'like' (thumb's up) the video so that it could get more attention in youtube's search system, over 300 views in 3 days do exactly that. received the following response moments ago: EMC2 is working on a crowd funding campaign to help raise funds for scientific research, it will start soon. HYPER is pleased to sponsor the EMC2 crowdfunding campaign for the Havekes Project to the extent of $100 USD of HYPER. While gaming is awesome our currency also wants to be socially responsible and help in the creation of a better world. Disruptive gaming cryptocurrency HYPER running over 10 game servers. Win, spend, play and earn with HYPER! Bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624651.0 Wiki: http://hypercrypto.com/wiki Follow HYPER on twitter to win $100 steam game codes and more: http://twitter.com/hypercrypto HYPERfuture and HYPER Community; Thanks for your support of The Havekes Project. Indeed your donation, your campaign participation, as well as your coin's impact on the CC world and gaming industry should be recognized and appreciated, keep up the great work. The official HYPER address for Havekey Project donations is: HE1EdHGs2WcAk8doDeqMMkjFyL4eiCvVy6. Considering rate fluctuations over the campaign period we maintain values in native currency, in this case HYPER coins. Also, please provide a link to the image you want included in the your sponsor logo area of the campaign. Dear Einsteinium Community; It was recently reported that over the past 2 days the Havekes Project video at youtube registered 300 views, 3 comments and 7 likes. This is really good news, this activity places our video higher within the 'science' search matrix at youtube. The target is 300 views in 3 days, that was accomplished, where possible 10 comments and 10 likes in that same period of time will add another boost to our ranking -- let's reach that too. Now when someone searches for "Einsteinium Foundation Science Research Grant Application For Robbert Havekes PhD" or portion thereof this video will be on the search list, additionally our keywords will also be factored in. Given that youtube is part of Google and Google is the #1 search engine, that also means if you do the same search in any search engine our video should return high within the search ranking. Here are 3 distinct ways to help the campaign by way of the youtube video: 1) View it, 'like' it, make a comment there, like any other comment, favor it too 2) Connect it with other relevant videos at youtube. If you notice, at the end of every video you watch you are provided with other videos to view next. That list of suggested videos is based primarily on what other viewer watched after viewer the subject video -- that is how the connection was made. So it would be great if after watching this video that you then searched for another video having to do with science research, cryptocurrency, sleep disorders, science philanthropy, the University of Pennsylvania, (you get the idea) so that the Havekes Project video has good connections. and 3) Do a general search (not a video search) in google, yahoo, and bing for: Einsteinium Foundation Science Research Grant Application For Robbert Havekes PhD, then click on the link that is associated with our video even if it is not presently at the top of the ranking. This campaign is experiencing early successes it would be great if we could get some more volunteers.

Hey! i would like to point big hashrates at emc2. therefore i need a pool with a fixed high diff ( like 65536 ) and proportional payout.. any idea? p2pool - pplns and low diff carbon.basshash.com - pplns emc2.suprnova.cc - vardiff emc2.botpool.net - vardiff emc2.mateloft.com - vardiff i even tried to create my own stratum pool with coiniumserv or nomp - but they reject every block ( "The stratum implementation for EMC2 differs slightly due to our donation/block system. " - https://github.com/zone117x/node-stratum-pool/issues/55 ) so does anyone know where i can mine? or how to get nomp working? simply donating 2.5% in every block to EKnqTC9XEuucZEhD3miDGnbJxBptcxhByA will not work.. ( https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal/issues/358 ) i think the solution is somewhere here, but i do not understand the code yet.. https://github.com/einsteinium/EMC2-Stratum-Mining/blob/0402833ec347819948b19b241aae454883040188/lib/coinbasetx.pyit is kind of hard-coded.. so can someone explain how to implement it? ( def getCharityScript(): return b'\x76\xa9\x14' + binascii.unhexlify("1864597a1e6f7e83555b4ec5913d455f4a5002a5") + b'\x88\xac'; )

I cant help you beyond what the github documentation say, and it is definitely hard coded. But I was wondering, I dont really understand why vardiff isnt suitable? I am pretty sure most vardiff implementation now have a high enough range for anyone But nonetheless, you can create an account on the pool you prefer and contact the admin, he can definitely lock your diff. (Maybe contact all of them for prompt response)

_____________________________
Recently I was asked 'what's the purpose of the campaign', 'where is the money going', and 'how will it help something that is widely known in the medical world'?
These are great questions, the answers may differ slightly depending on the audience, or the perspective of the questioner. so I thought to share a portion of my response here.
There are different ways of viewing this campaign, the first way is from the crowd funding community (not associated with cryptocurrency), a second way is through the cryptocurrency industry, and a third way of viewing this campaign is by a science research audience.
We are are connected to the cryptocurrency industry so I'll start there. This campaign is being conducted at indiegogo the second largest crowd funding campaign in the world. The campaign will have many eyes on it. Indiegogo does not currently accept any CC on their platform our ongoing campaigns (this is the first) will very likely change that.
The Einsteinium Foundation has a mission to raise funds for scientific research, our mining tax creates a pool of funds that provide grants to deserving applicants. Recently we intergrated crowd funding into the process to likely enable the grant beneficiary to receive more money than we could immediately supply. This enables us to market the project, our coin, our sponsor items, and crypto to benefit everyone involved.
From the perspective of the science community this is a science research project seeking funding for two things, to provide funds in appreciation of work done, and as motivation for more work to be done. More specifically, in 2009 the Abel lab made a great discovery, that lack of sleep triggers a chemical in the brain that causes memory loss. Recently, the lab with Dr. Havekes created a method to interrupt that trigger in mice to reduce or eliminate memory loss due to lace of adequate sleep. Our grant seeks to reward that success. Dr. Havekes' intention is to apply his knowledge and methods to humans such that people who often get low levels of sleep ("shift workers and doctors") may suffer less memory loss due to sleep deprivation. Our grant seeks to motivate him to move forward with that intention.
Often times when dealing with scientific research its very difficult to see all of the connections, but as one person who commented to this video at youtube said: "Suffering from diagnosed insomnia myself, this research is great and will support", clearly this research has meaningful purpose.
The largest audience is the general crowd funding audience, the purpose of this campaign is to make them aware of some problems caused by sleep deprivation and the work Dr. Havekes is doing to solve the cognitive problems associated with sleep deprivation. A secondary purpose is to make that same audience aware of cryptocurrency, and that there is an org in that world that, 'in some small way', is doing what they can to fund scientific research.
