1141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I pay with bitcoins now? on: May 25, 2017, 06:21:51 PM
Not sure if steam is still accepting Bitcoin, but last year it was possible to buy games using it.

I saw many threads regarding this but whose gonna spend BTC on these hardware or digital goods when that BTC will earn for itself day by day in the wallet??
I am searching for stores where LTC or other altcoins are taken as a payment for digital goods.
1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: May 25, 2017, 06:01:12 PM
I believe bitcoin will at least hit 5000 in 2017. If it can move 50% in 1 month like it just did, it has plenty of time to move + 100% within 6 months.

I believe we moved 100% in 1 month. But yeah I am of the belief that $5000 is reachable in 2017, it all depends on what the smart money decides to do going forward. We could just stay around $2000 moving forward until some big news drop or we could go back down to $1000. It sure feels like it's up in the air at the moment.

Right now its on the downwards side on the graph and hitting with a dump. Lowered near to 300$ in just 1-2 hours and lots of people are going crazy about it. I too hope and wish that it will reach 5k$ one day but i dont think it is a possible future in this year.
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale] NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟🌟🌟 Escrows 🌟🌟🌟 on: May 25, 2017, 05:47:48 PM
It was a bad monent when i saw your update regarding delay in crowdsale ! I hope to see its restoration soon.
Anyways, does the delay in crowdsale affect the signature campaign?

Regardless of what happens in the signature campaign, we support you guys at this moment. It is really sad to see this happening, we are experiencing many shut downs and lags in most of the BTC exchanges and betting sites because of this pump. Dumping now.
1144  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price ticker / alert Desktop on: May 25, 2017, 04:57:22 PM
I am looking for a BTC price ticker which has an option to have an alert or sound notification for every hour price change. I tried googling but I'm having second thought on downloading an .exe without a review from someone recently. If you know one, please suggest in the post below.

It is not suggested to download or install any of those executable software's into your system, especially when it comes to activities related to Crypto currencies. They may have bugs or trojans which can spy on you and send all your transaction details to someone or can hack your computer remotely.
There is no free application which does this job.
1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Syscoin is scam - not buy. on: May 25, 2017, 04:35:20 PM

Artificial pumps and dumps are the worst diseases right now for crypto currencies. people are leaving the trading of altcoins because of this and it is a loss for every person who is in this. I heard there are groups of people who discuss this and execute on a certain coin. They are just scamming the poor people.
1146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction confirmed within 20 minutes on: May 25, 2017, 02:54:26 PM
Right now
Quote
167245 Unconfirmed Transactions
and counting.

I dont know how your transaction got confirmation so fast but for most of us its still same or a little less. I was just thinking whether the segwit integration will be a solution for this or not.
1147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you buy Bitcoins using Paypal? on: May 24, 2017, 05:38:35 PM
How do you buy Bitcoins using Paypal? I'm thinking of buying few Bitcoins but I don't have enough funds in my credit card, but I'm having enough on my Paypal account. So I don't know how to buy using PayPal
its actually very easy and you have two options on how to but some bitcoins using this method
(i) if you want come cheaper bitcoins you can provide some form of identification to prove you are the owner of the account used on an exchange like paxful or localbitcoins or get them at a premium without id

(ii) you can use the currency exchange section for this transaction here on the forum--->https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 but most exchangers will be conscious with who the trade with.

Most of the members here and other places too will not accept Paypal in exchange of BTC as scamming using Paypal is too common these days and once the bitcoin is reached its destination and got some confirmation, Paypal can chargeback and scam the other guy. Its better to do a bank transfer or CC buying in your local store.
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: May 24, 2017, 04:56:11 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1919814.0
A airdrop link

donate address:1GAY4waFhGWAreMTaB1CHh3GetR7ReHiwm
 Wink ;)poloniex address

The airdrop is already ended by the devs, They are only sending air drops to the ones who already received once.
It would be great if everyone updates this thread when there is an airdrop of some altcoin. It will be really helpful to popularize some coin as well as for newbies to know about them.
1149  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Indian markets are leading with ~$400 gap. Arbitrage trading possibilities on: May 24, 2017, 04:34:36 PM
OK, the difference is about $700 now. But Im not able to find any source which will sell BTC at the actual rates. Someone please help me out here. I can sell these BTCs at the higher cost since I'm in India and I have a verified account. But I'm not able to acquire BTC at reasonable rates....
I don't think there are any international trading platform that accepts bank deposits or cards from India. You can ask your friends or relatives who are currently residing out of India and can buy bitcoin for you, you can work as remittance agent for them.  Wink

Thats a good idea actually and Indians can easily earn some money with this difference. But I'm afraid the Unocoin or other exchanges may put a hold on higher amount of money and also I have heard that BTC transactions are thought as a negative thing by Indian Govt. So think twice before doing something.
1150  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in as a wallet? on: May 24, 2017, 04:21:31 PM
Would you keep your paper money in other peoples wallet? I don't think so.
If you keep your "paper money" in a bank, it's sitting in an online wallet. There are no private keys for paper money, only the paper money...so if it's not literally in your possession, you don't own it.
Sir, do you live on Mars?
Bank IS safest way for keeping your money and you own it. It is your money.

You can compare it like this:

Bank(paper money) - hardware wallet(bitcoin)
Your wallet(paper money) - online wallet(bitcoin)
Other peoples wallet(paper money) - freebitco.in(bitcoin)

It's my opinion about freebitcoin as wallet, i still like faucet and lottery Smiley

If you read the posts then you will see that it is the opinion of most of the members here. Its not a good thing to store your BTC in these exchanges regardless of how much interest they are going to give. Its just not worth it, and Banks are the safest place actually to keep your money and get some interest at least.
1151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better? To gamble or to invest? on: May 24, 2017, 04:07:30 PM
Gambling has high chance of loosing , but investment on the good things give you steady and stable income

still depends on the type of investment you are entering to.  if one wants to invest then one must be well equip with details about such investment. in order to minimize risk and minimize lose.  meaning with a good knowledge comes a good decision on where,  what and how much you will invest.

Investing in Hyip or a Ponzi scheme is riskier than gambling with 90% loss ratio. You need to do extensive research on all the investment plan's details otherwise its like giving all your money to someone on a golden platter with a note that "Please take it for free".
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watch cinemas using bitcoin on: May 24, 2017, 02:43:37 PM
Back in 2015 this was big news, but things might have changed a bit since then. I know some merchants who started accepting Bitcoin has stopped, because there were not enough business to support for it. If we want services and merchants to continue supporting Bitcoin, we will have to use Bitcoin for their services.

Can anymore say if they still pay for movies with bitcoins?
I doubt there are a lot of people who use Bitcoin for actual purchases, especially now that volatility is so high and you'd pay a couple of dollars in fees alone.
On the other hand, with prices so high, people might be willing to 'cash out' by making some larger purchases with Bitcoin, in those cases even a fee of a couple of dollars isn't too bad.

I would buy movie tickets if they start selling movie tickets for Satoshis not BTC. Seeing the price of BTC, it has gone out of the phase where people will buy things or services from it. It is more of an investment right now, If it reaches 5k$ or 10k$ and gets stabilized then it will be a great currency.
1153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Do You Buy Your Bitcoins? on: May 23, 2017, 06:14:06 PM
I can see now that Bitcoin hits historic all time highs, I think is about time I buy myself a few.

I dont bought my BTC. I create on my own since I do not have money to pay for it. So it is on my own self-reliance.

Do you mine your own BTC??
Or you meant you earn them through different services??

I buy BTC through my local dealer who is a friend of mine who take fewer fees than other local exchanges and he is trustworthy too so buying or selling is easy for me.
1154  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase service unavailable on: May 23, 2017, 06:07:34 PM
Coinbase mobile app is working fine for me.

I do get the error messages, but click through them and you can still accomplish anything needed - buying, selling, transactions.

I haven't tried from a PC.

Btw, their maintenance page is worthless. It doesn't actually provide status (or it didn't yesterday) it just mentioned what issues are going on, which if you're checking the maintenance page you're already aware of the issue.

EDIT: Access via the PC is also working fine.

Maybe they've completely fixed the issue.

Yes, it is accessible now and I think they have resolved the issue for now. There are some error statuses still displaying on the site through PC, hope it will be resolved soon.
1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Directbet.eu - what seems to be the reason for the site closure? on: May 23, 2017, 05:44:59 PM
Directbet is a unique gambling site. We can place our bets without the need to make an account at the site. The reason why this site being closed maybe due to the fact that recently, bitcoin transaction can take days to get a confirmation. Hence the numbers of unsettled bets will grow from time to time and for sure that will be hard to manage.

Its taking weeks to confirm a particular transaction and it is affecting the gambling industry and many other industries. The sites should start accepting other coins too, may be ETH or LTC. Otherwise, it may be a dead end for many websites.
1156  Economy / Exchanges / Coinbase service unavailable on: May 23, 2017, 04:12:35 PM
Does anyone else seeing the same problem in coinbase??
It was just showing an error from a week and now the site is inaccessible.

Is there anyone from coinbase here??
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to start investing in Altcoins on: May 23, 2017, 04:07:49 PM
Start small and do a little research. Now that I have had my first decent investment I am looking into my next bigger one. I am still a bit new but have been learning through some trial and error. Good luck.

Researching on your own and investing based on the analyzation is the best way. Dont put everything at once into altcoins as there is no definitive prediction. Start with small and try to hold the coins which you have and continue to buy the one which is showing potential.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The PUMP/DUMP power of Poloniex on: May 23, 2017, 02:01:09 PM
Hello guys

I recently checked the top 30 coins listed on coinmarketcap and I came to a (rather scary) conclusion. Nearly all of them are listed on Poloniex. All of them with staggering growths. Huge amounts of tradings happen on Poloniex. According to coinmarketcap more than 30 percent of Bitcoin traffic goes trough Poloniex. Siacoin 55 percent. Stratis 62 percent. These are numbers we should not be happy about. Whole the idea of blockchain is decentralisation, yet nearly all traffic goes trough one channel -Poloniex-. The great bitcoin Bubble happened because of the downfall of one trading-platform. One of the biggest at the time. I think it would be of great importance that trading not only relies on one or two platforms. Imagine the idea of a Poloniex fall-out. More trading-platforms are a necessity if we like to have a stable and safer bitcoin/altcoin market. What are your thoughts or ideas about this?

It is always happen that. Is like you throw and snowball down the hill. it will get only bigger and bigger till it will explode.

Polo is trying hard to be smaller. They delis 10+ coins every 2-3 months. I expect that trend will continue.  Many other exchanges stayed only at BTC and only recently started adding others. they stayed way behind

Poloniex was one of the smartest people in the exchange site's competition. They started early and throw that snowball every now and then just to analyze the outcome and testing whether it will be profitable or not. There is no competition for Polo now.
1159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've Had Enough Of BTC - Converting To A New Currency on: May 22, 2017, 04:36:53 PM
i used ltc the last couple transactions. fast, cheap.

wouldnt go so far as to dump all my btc for ltc though. they each have their uses.

LTC is comparatively better if you want to buy and sell stuff using crypto currencies. Lightning fast network and very low fees for now I guess. The price is gradually decreasing and getting stable. Hope it will be used for all the transactions as BTC became totally investment now.
