Hardware is better
Yes, if you have the means to support it at home hardware is better.
Unfortunately some people live in apartments or have unstable internet connections.

Not only is ZenPool experiencing a temporary drop while we renegotiate terms with a few investors,

The smart money has done its DD and realized this is a ponzi and drawn down their investment.

Yea I used to be a koolaid drinker... Now I'm super skeptical.. To the point I sold off some of my primes to at least break even. I mean GAW is this big company with all this purchasing and hiring power but they can't get simple everyday things like a payout system to work... Or simple technical support... I just don't get it...

LTCGear is ran by 1 person, yet they almost NEVER have issues... It's because he didn't add all these stupid gimmicks to keep your miners profitable... That and he realizes simpler is better...

Maybe that's why he still has cash to pay people, because he doesn't have any employees, but this can quickly turn around.
I think mining is runing on fumes since BTC went below $400.

Wait, your GPU went over 102 F and that's a lot? They can take much more, believe me, unless you meant 102 C. My old radeons were reaching 100 C when gaming and nothing happened.

Yes, "trust me" GAW sux, I'm an LTC gear affiliate, use the link in my signature.

Quote
An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a form of criticism directed at something about the person one is criticizing, rather than something (potentially, at least) independent of that person.  When used inappropriately, it is a fallacy in which a claim or argument is dismissed on the basis of some irrelevant fact or supposition about the author or the person being criticized.
  Wikipedia definition here

For example, it is an ad hominem fallacy to argue that one should ignore the very relevant concerns about GAW that I have expressed, on the basis of a link to a completely different company in my signature.

Of course rational thought is not big in the GAW camp these days so maybe logical fallacies don't bother you.

His comment was relevant in this situation, because you're not making a point, you're ridiculing the situation.
Your every post is advertising a competing cloud mining am I right? So even if you write something completely pointless it's all good, as long as the signature is visible.
You're also citing ad hominem, but writing in the same manner: Of course rational thought is not big in the GAW camp these days so maybe logical fallacies don't bother you.

LTCgear has unknown owners, never reply to mails etc - their offer is too good to be true

That sould be similar to PB mining, nobody knows who and where they are and people are sending them money just because they "had steady payouts".

When choosing a mining company the first thing you should ask is what do I know about the owners and will I be able to contact anyone if they bail.
The more personal details they disclose the better, but these of course have to be verified. So if a company doesn't give out their address and name of the owner, you shouldn't even consider investing.
It doesn't matter if the site is paying out, most of these sites aren't paying for more than 2 or 3 months, so you can't really call them stable.

This is completely irrelevant when you have essentially waived all of your rights in the terms of service. I suggest reading it - knowing the operators does not help if you have zero legal recourse if they shut down everything tomorrow.

-Sahra

If you have the name and address, at least you know where to look, like that guy that went to Mt. Gox (not that it helped him).
Those, who paid Lunamine, would welcome the opportunity.

I am still avg about .04 per day after costs with about 135 mh/s with mostly zenhashlets....but it was .06-.07 just last Friday...

LTCgear is the way to go right now...are they holding up in payouts?

I considered LTCGear how are their lower end offerings doing? (ie: FarmShare, ASIC share,Mod M1s)

I dont want to hijack this thread. But it seems that the general consensus, even on Hashtalk, is that LTCGear (which, strangely enough is allowed to live on HT) is the go to place for diversification alongside of GAW.

LTCG is amazing but there are a lot of unknowns just like GAW. Pretty much all of these cloud services should be taken as gambles, some are less so than others. Because of the payout at LTCG I'd put them as a higher risk investment than GAW but I'd put GAW as higher than say Genesis because the latter is more transparent especially when it comes to showing the actual hardware.

Spread your risk accordingly.

I got some hash at genesis too just 20 mh/s but genesis is stable and predictable unlike gaw. Gaw use to be predictable...I want to know if LTCgear has stable payouts like genesis?

1149  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What can you say about Cloud Mining? on: October 21, 2014, 02:42:04 AM
IS there any ROi with cloud possible ?
Try cloud GH's that charge no more than a 30% maintenance fee (equivalent to 0.12 kWh) and hold on for 365 days and you will ROI. If you want a quick ROI then buy your own hardware.
Not really. You don't have to look far to find people who got ROI after 3 months of cloud mining. But it already happened, and may not happen again Wink

Can you show some math behind this?  I cant think of any cloud services that ROI in 3 months is normal.

Right now, many people claim that LTCGear ROI in 2 months. But I won't want to risk my money..

I haven't invested so I can't show you the math, but I've seen posts or even whole threads of people who claimed to have reached ROI in the last 3 months.
If I'm not mistaken most of these people used sites where it was possible to trade contracts.

when i joined this project these days i see those rates better but i were at cex.io and there were a bit worse as i were making around the same ammount im making at zencloud ,with those money i moved into genesis mining as zencloud till now my investment is getting better results as cex.io high fees

Cex isn't worth it, same as PB mining and all other runner ups. It looks as GAW is paying best if you mine Bitcoin, just a bit more than Genesis, and LTC Gear is best in scrypt coins.

I had the "stun" issue dogie mentioned a few times and strangely turning off the PSU with a switch didn't help. I had to unplug it completely and start again. Looks like some of them have built in breakers that get stuck in an off position as long as they detect current.

The paper clip is probably ok, because he said the PSU turns on and then off after a few seconds, so you should look for the problem in the miner, or the PSU is just "too sensitive".
1154  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: October 20, 2014, 03:14:40 AM
I went to your site, hashie, and there are some typical red lights: no information about the owner, no address, not even a country of origin, the site is plain and gives no factual information, that would not only be helpful, but in this case (cryptocurrencies) essential for a potential client.
1155  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitmain - Prices are Ridiculous on: October 18, 2014, 01:48:19 AM
NO HARDWARE WILL ROI.

That's what people were saying when the first ASICS came out.
This can be quoted along with:
Bitcoin is dead.
Mining is dead.
We will never break $100
We will never break $1000
And many other.

Some of these banned people are trolls, and looks like the mods overreacted and banned some decent users, who made a mistake of bumping posts made by those trolls.
Troll account: https://hashtalk.org/user/nupapa
Normal user, who supported troll's thread: https://hashtalk.org/user/deeneendo

Anyway, since it's not a typical public forum they can ban as much as they want. It's the same as being refused service in a restaurant. You don't go home and cry in a pillow.
They're not the only restaurant in town Wink

Are you suggesting that bumping posts is a bannable offense now? Smiley Come on... was there anybody banned for any of those inane "First" and "I love GAW" posts in every thread? Rules are fine, if they are reasonable, enforceable, and applied consistently, which doesn't appear to be the case on HT.

Trouble with this "ban as much as they want" attitude is that the forum is the only place where new features and other important business decisions are announced. There are no e-mails, nothing on the GAW site, occasionally you may get a popup on ZenCloud but I don't think there is a "News" page or something like that there. Ok, you can probably still read the announcements on HT even if you're banned. But you can't post in the support section if they neglect your ticket for 3 weeks. Kind of rude to cut customers off support for committing some made-up forum offense, wouldn't you agree?

I can't say much about that first part, I've been following this whole thing since last week. To me this ban (deeneendo) looks like a misunderstanding, unless he posted something more ofensive that was later deleted.
Forum support section can't be the only means of contacting them besides the tickets, they have a phone and I saw them respond to bitcointalk posts.
This whole thing could be easily fixed if they wanted to. They could set up an online helpdesk in a form of a chatroom or a teamspeak channel, where people could get immediate attention and/or create a trollbox or a jail, a section of the forum without any rules, or maybe a two level ban. First offense would ban the user from posting in most sections of the forum, but still allow to post in the support.

What I meant by "not the only restaurant in town" was that hashtalk is a part of their company. If someone doesn't like how it's run and can't come to terms with its rules (or their lack) he shouldn't struggle and move on.
I've been banned from a number of forums in my life, KNC being one of them, and It never bothered me.

Peanuts, not worth it, get a job in McDonalds, its more productive.
"Go, flip a burger" is indeed my default answer when someone asks wheter faucets are worth their time...!
A very good answer.

You can earn more posting with a signature on bitcointalk then you will in a year of using faucets Wink
