1141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 10, 2023, 09:22:47 PM
I don't know, what's weird to me, is that Fulton is playing the race card here? or the article was put to be like that?

In any case, if he thinks he can beat the Monster to gain the respect from America then yeah, he needs to go to Japan and fight him. I like his mindset though, he thinks Inoue is small and so he can take him out. Also he mentioned that he has been in this kind of crowd, they are totally against him but he won (against Figueroa). Wherein the crowd was pro Mexican Brandon but nevertheless he did everything to win in the judges scorecard.

It seems that Fulton is underestimating Inoue but he will surely be needing enough time to prepare to face a monster. I hope he wouldn't be surprised with Inoue's punches as what Inoue did to his previous opponents. He should grab all the chances to prepare because Inoue is honestly hard to beat.
It will be a big hit if he will knock down Inoue but will also be a big challenge for him. Inoue has been consistent and dedicated and that is something that Fulton must be aware of.
Without doubt if Fulton could beat Inoue that would be a huge upset and will give Fulton a great deal of the credibility and the respect that he is looking for, however after reading the interview it seems to me that he is too fixated on the fans and who they support, fans like who they like, I am not from the Philippines and yet I never missed a fight of Pacquiao so his arguments ring hollow to me, if he wants to be a superstar then he needs to prove he is one and he has the perfect opportunity against Inoue to do so.

That will give him the respect that he wants if ever he will manage to beat the Monster,  we all know that Inoue hot a huge amount of fans all over the world because of his showed greatness.

Same with your statement, if Fulton wants respect and recognition  this will be a perfect timing for him.

Winning against  the fans favorite will hype his name and will established his supremacy in this weight division.

He can try and have a bite of the monster's power punches but that's not easy to do and that means that the respect and recognition that he wanted won't come easy. He should earn those first and defeating Inoue will be the answer to his wishes.

Fulton asked for this fight too, right? Then I bet he already know the challenges he will face once they are both on the same ring fighting for the title. This will be a good one!
1142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: February 10, 2023, 08:55:09 PM
Shakur will be the favorite here, its also a home court advantage so this will be a big challenge for Yoshino, both boxer are undefeated so this will be a big pressure to them. Shakur seems to be more fit and active though, if you’ll see his previous matches his aggressiveness is there and a deadly punches are there as well. Who ever wins here will face another big challenge on their next match either with Haney or Loma, so better for them to do their best on this match.

Not sure if there is pressure on Shakur, yeah, he needs to win this fight because it will be in hometown, but he will be facing a somewhat unknown boxer from Japan. I'm not saying that Yoshino is not going to win, but basing on the experience alone of Shakur and Yoshino not exposed, it might be very hard for him to win in US, in my opinion. Yes, whoever wins here, is assured to face the winner of the Loma vs Haney fight. So this is in the mind of Shakur since he wanted to break into the picture and become a champion in another weight class.
Actually both are having 'noisy' names, there's just this barrier between local and international viewers. Yoshino quite had a good record for being undefeated in his local while Shakur is as well but with foreign fighters. This is where difficulty with bettors measure comes from. In general, the japanese boxer's statistics would be somehow set aside since international record is believed to be having a bigger weight not only in sports industry. But this is boxing we are talking about and anything could happen once both fighters starts in the middle of the square. Both has their own trainings and tactics to win over their opponent. So what's more likely to happen , and as we can see in this topic, Shuichiro is just the underdog in this match.
I'm not seeing it as a difficult though, for sure it's easy for bookies to make Shakur their favorite even if the Japanese is also a champion. It's been gauge on their experience and again, Yoshino might be good in Asia but the centerpiece of boxing is in the US.

Underdog means that you are treated to have low chance of winning.

And even in this community, we all know that Shakur will likely take this W.

And also means that Shuichiro Yoshino chances are not that good against the world champion who vacated his belt because of weight issues, actually, I see this fight as more of Shakur's debut and highlights before he go and pursue the generals of this division. It's no doubt already that Shakur will get defeated in this bout before he can chase titles.

No offense for the Japanese fighter but this bout looks like a good tune-up fight to prepare Shakur for a much bigger bout in the future. In short, just a stepping stone.
1143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: February 10, 2023, 08:31:45 PM
^^ It's good that he is back in the gym, boxers need to really try and keep their body moving so to speak. So that if a fight presented itself, then they can go full steam ahead of that training and go 100% on it.

As for his next fight, I doubt that it will be Canelo. Alvarez is still undergoing rehab and there are news that he will fight Ryder next in his next fight. Beterbiev shows intention, but still up to Bob Arum. So it might be Joshua Buatsi, maybe this is just a get busy fight for Bivol, just make him active and not have a long layoff.

Even if the opponent is not yet determined, boxers are already expected to make their own preparations and trainings to get their bodies in shape as they already have a schedule and before going into a much extensive preparation where the opponent is already known. For Canelo Alvarez, we may get another news from him in the next couple of months after his tune-up fight with Ryder, after that, I guess there will be another evaluation to see if his wrist is ready for chasing title fights with heavy opponents.
1144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 09, 2023, 09:10:28 AM
After I took control of my gambling addiction, I had imbibed the culture of gambling occasionally that is when the opportunity avail, thus there isn't any reason to completely stop gambling because my area of interest in gambling is soccer thus I bet on few matches with a reasonable odds while staking with small fund i.e money I can afford to lose having known the implications of gambling addiction, when you know what you are going as a gambler whether win or lose I move on and I always tried to be profitable in a long run bearing in mind that losses is inevitable.
many gamblers have a hard time getting out of their addiction. even spending more on assets owned than what they produce.
that is a bad example, and you are an example that has gotten better at managing your interest in gambling. self control will be very important for gamblers. play consciously and not out of control. now everything is very accessible. with money in hand and online tools, everything can be gone in a matter of hours.

That is the sad thing right there and it's much easier to say things than doing it as personally, I had the same experience way back almost a decade ago. I used to do almost every sorts of gambling and haven't reflected on myself much earlier that's why I haven't notice that I was already too deep than what I expected because consciously, everything is normal to me but in reality, it isn't.

Just don't give up mate, there's still a light at the end of a tunnel. We all have our downside and it's much better to seek help to help us save ourselves.
1145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 08, 2023, 08:50:20 PM
With 20 points at halftime it’s looking like LeBron is going to break the record tonight. When they were showing all the celebrities in the house for the game I had a feeling I was going to be wrong. After missing his first two shots he’s been on fire. 16 points in a half is still no small feat, but I feel like he’s got a chance to get it done. Hopefully he can find a way to get a win also.

I got no doubts about him that he will really break the record in the game earlier, right after the game commenced, I know that he will do it even if 36 points sounds big and that would mean that he should carry the ball mostly. I just had a small heartache when his eyes were slightly injured by the one of the Thunders elbow when he drove the ball towards the ring. Fortunately, what happened wasn't that big of a deal and the historical game went smoothly.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 08, 2023, 07:16:08 PM
Luckily, I chase my losses betting for the Grizzlies and it won. Congratulations to all the winners.
I called it a lucky bet, I've been in that situation many times and mostly the result is not good. Now, I'm not chasing much as I don't want my emotion to get over me, you know, they said discipline is very important but sometimes we break that rule. congratulations mate.
It's not that high of a profit so it's okay, the odds that I got were just @1.69 so it's a high chance it will hit.  Wink

9 games tomorrow. Another perfect parlay would make this a yummy treat.
Early bets.
Washington Wizards - Charlotte Hornets - Washington Wizards (-4.5) Beal already practiced but he is still in questionable status. The same goes for Kuzma. 12-12 on home games while Hornets are 8-23 roads. I think KP, Avdija, and Morris could somehow work out to win this one.

Cleveland Cavaliers - Detroit Pistons - Cleveland Cavaliers (-10.5) Cavs is just too strong against the Pistons, this will be an easy win for them. Their twin towers are not that easy to D. Expecting a blowout.

Miami Heat - Indiana Pacers - Miami Heat (-5.5) - Bam Adebayo vs Myles Turner, sounds exciting. Oladipo and Lowry are still out.

Houston Rockets - Sacramento Kings - Sacramento Kings (-10.5) Kings all the way!  Grin

Good luck guys.

It seems to me that there were a lot of bettors here who fell into the Lakers trap because like me, I'm also expecting that the Lakers will push their luck and win the game today while they are also celebrating Lebron for taking Kareem's throne as the #1 All-time scorer. Sadly, the opposite happen as it looks like they were just focusing on the history alone and not on their present game.

Anyway, I'll tail you with the Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers, good luck to us.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: February 08, 2023, 04:33:35 PM
It seems that this Shuichiro Yoshino is decent enough to face Shakur Stevenson in his debut, looking at the Japanese boxer's stats and recent fights, he is quite good but all of his fights are somehow irrelevant when it comes to the main ring because this Japanese boxer is more of a local boxer who keeps fighting inside his nation and his compatriots, just like Casimero's recent opponent.

Decent but I will say average when he face the likes of Shakur. And no surprise here, I mean Japanese fighters started their career home grown and then venture out of the country if they gain enough experience.

That's why I said his experience are irrelevant because all his fight are just local and this Japanese doesn't have any experience nor heavy names on his rapsheet that is saying that he defeated them. Unlike Shakur, if it wasn't for his weight issue, I bet he can have that undisputed title on his past weight class.

Still, this will be a good test for Shakur for testing the new weight class. I'd say that this fight will highlight Shakur before he goes for a title attempt against the winner of Loma-Haney fight. If I'm not mistaken, Haney wanted Shakur to be his opponent because their camp is quite underestimating Loma already and they want a good fight.

Shakur has been calling out a lot of names in the 135 lbs, that includes Haney and Loma and even Tank Davis.

He is willing to test this skills against this boxers and it will be a great fight to see him against those names in the future.

And has been privileged to be called out by the undisputed champion, Devin Haney, because his camp wanted to test his skills rather than fighting Lomachenko on a mere money fight. But I guess, Bob Arum doesn't want that scenario for now and would like Shakur to test the water first before fighting a champion directly that belongs on the same stable.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: February 08, 2023, 04:08:16 PM
~snip

For Bivol, I have no doubt against that man's dedication and talent because he is so humble that he just lets his performance wins do the talking for him. It's just too unfortunate for him because the pressure towards Russia is not yet lifted and fighters like Bivol are heavily affected even if they have nothing to do with war as that was their president's sole action. That's why now, there's a very high chance that the unification fight between Bivol and Beterbiev won't happen anytime sooner.

Sad news for the Nets, although they already know that Irving is not willing to stay, at least Irving should be traded with a superstar that could help Durant still make the Nets a playoff contender. Now that no more Irving, I'm pretty sure in the NBA Championship odds, Nets odds will also drop just like other teams that has a little chance of winning a championship.
That's expected, the only thing that makes the Nets being a championship contender is because of Durant and Kyrie, though before it was supposed to be a big 3 since Harden joined, but he got traded for Simmons which basically not a big factor for the team. If you bet on the championship odds prior the season starts, you cannot hedge it now, so just ride with it and hope for miracle to happen.

Quote
I'm curious about how Dallas would create a good chemistry to make Luka and Kyrie blend perfectly.
We are gonna find it out together, there's still plenty of time, so hopefully Luka will understands the attitude of Irving and they'll good friends on the court.
1151  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: February 06, 2023, 08:58:24 AM
Money is very influential and much more if you are in politics. Rich people can manipulate someone to do evil things. But I don't think this applies to all rich people, becoming evil is an individual behavior, and we can't generalize it. Of course, I will agree that money can change a person and extend his/her power but if you really have good deeds, I don't think it will work.

Greediness - I was certain of this. A person who carries such things in their lives will lead to committing evil things - criminal and illegal activities just to reach their ambition.
1152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to buy bitcoin. on: February 06, 2023, 08:27:54 AM
The best time to buy Bitcoin is when the time that you are ready to face the consequence and are willing to take responsibility as a holder, not a panic seller.

Buy Low and sell high - it doesn't really matter if you as an investor are impatient and too emotional that for sure you ended up selling low due to panic. Like if you have a plan to investment just make sure that you ask yourselves first if "I am really strong enough and will adopt to the market condition". Otherwise, we don't need to be stupid to invest just to lose our money.
If you are not panicky and willing to HodL for the long term then you can buy Bitcoin at any times by doing a DCA strategy. There is no need for you to wait for the price to drop to buy at lows but to be able to sell for profits, we will still need to wait for the price to rise. For someone who has a doubt of themselves if they can be able to HodL for the long term or not, they can always start at shorter terms first.

We can't always be a pro at investing if we are still a starter but it can also be done in process just like on any other things. After so many trials and errors, we will soon figured out the pattern and that was the time that we can improve ourselves.
Besides, it was not really hard to analyze the market trend if we are willing to learn. Because many people had bought Bitcoin without understanding the market that is why they easily got panic and sell their Bitcoin is a losing price. I'm not this will never happen to a person that is certain of his/her goal - 'to earn a profit". FUDs are a big factor that could affect our decisions, most of the time this is the reason why we lose as it triggers our emotions.
Nothing will lose from investing in Bitcoin if we know how to manage ourselves and knows our goal.

tell me if i am wrong or right experts
Even experts can't tell what will happen in the coming days but what we only have is market assumptions.
It was the majority believes that the bottom is already done but not the bear season as we are still too far from getting passed of it. What we have experience since the past two weeks of incline, it was something a good indications that we are recovering slowly. Though it wasn't really satisfying, at least we have the seen the market price moves high a little bet making people breath as well.

1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: February 04, 2023, 08:53:35 PM
I wouldn't actually say the Beterbiev dominated the rest of the fight, Yarde has some rounds under his belt and at the time of the stoppage he is ahead on points on 2 judges.

It's that that he is slowing down and getting tired as the fight goes on. Although he said that he is reserving his energy because he wanted the fight to go into distance so that he will have a chance. However, Beterbiev has other plans and just like that, one punch and changes the complexion and he secure a big victory in front of Yarde's home crowd.

Fair enough, Yarde isn't really turned into a free punching bag. He did great at the early rounds and Beterbiev even admits he feels those.

However, a champion is a champion and we clearly see that stamina plays a big role here. While Yarde is giving Beterbiev some hard punches, that wasn't able to keep up the entire fight. Beterbiev surely feels that those hard punches in the early rounds become lighter in the later rounds to the point that he can now withstand it even not in pure defense mode.

Beterbiev is really to the highest level and Yarde isn't the one who can bring this guy down.

Yarde did really well in fighting against Beterbiev and I admit that I'm surprised about his style against the champion because he really owned the first few rounds before he almost gassed out from all the effort he did because apart from doing offense, he still need to be keen about his defense as he could be sleeping on the canvass if he's not careful enough. But I guess that was Yarde's main and only option because I bet he knew that he can't keep up in the late rounds if he will wait for Beterbiev to adjust.
1156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: February 04, 2023, 08:27:43 PM
Shakur Stevenson is back on his hometown, this time he will be fighting Japanese Shuichiro Yoshino in April 8 at Prudential Center In Newark.

This will serve as a title eliminator, winner of this fight will get the winner of Haney vs Loma.

https://twitter.com/IFLTV/status/1621943799952850945

No odds yet, but for sure Stevenson will be the favorite here against Yoshino. If I'm not mistaken, the Japanese is a WBO Asia Pacific and OPBF lightweight, so this guy for sure will give Shakur a good fight.

So just imagine if Shakur will win this one, either of the winner of Haney vs Loma against him will be a banger fight.

1157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 04, 2023, 07:04:09 PM
Yes, the experience and the money that goes fighting Inoue in his hometown. And maybe his pride as well to test himself against the best that's why he can't get away from this opportunity to fight. As compared to his rematch with Figueroa who he has beaten already, although this time it will be on the contested weight of 126.

So it makes sense for Stephen Fulton to just go with Inoue, even if he is the big underdog, at least he will have his time and see if he can pull the biggest upset in this division if ever he can break Inoue.

That's the right mentality of a real warrior, he is always up for a new challenge, Inoue might be a very good fighter, but as long as Fulton will work hard to prepare for the fight, I'm sure he has a chance of pulling a big upset. They haven't fought yet, so we have no idea what will happen, our only basis for our predictions is their respective past fights and the quality of their opponents.

Inoue has shown us a lot during his previous fight but if we know Fulton, he also gives his best shot inside the ring.
He shouldn't miss this chance to prove himself again because it's another huge opportunity for him to showcase his capability because Inoue will be his big challenger.
It's hard to predict actually because it seems like they are both preparing hard for this upcoming fight.

Both fighter are good, both fighter showed us how they play and without a doubt Stephen Fulton. Is a strong guy he is a good boxer with a good record his previous fight is good as well he do his best. While in his opponent we all know who is Naoya Inoue when you see him for the first time you can say that he is a loser because of a humble and face and have a natural body bit in the ring he prove that we are all wrong. And he release the monster inside his body any shock the world .

Indeed mate Grin I can't help but laugh because I share the same sentiment that if you are seeing Inoue for the first time, you will have that impression that this man might not last eight straight rounds in the ring especially if it's a toe-to-toe fight because he's body built is somehow different. But when the fight starts, you will notice that his punches are so packed like he's having Beterbiev's power inserted in his small body.

Back to the topic, this will be a fun fight and I hope this will be a slug fest to see who's who as soon as possible. Both fighters asked for this fight and fortunately, it's going smoothly.
1158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2023, 06:44:35 PM
They are inconsistent yes, because we are expecting them to lose and yet what we had witnessed was the opposite of our expectations.
Big win by the Suns, they really have that pride that they are a good team, sometimes they lose big, sometimes they win big, and it happened in this game.

And that's the usual Phoenix Suns being themselves, inconsistent and unpredictable, that is why they are able to win big time sometimes as teams in the league could be underestimating them because they are out of synch and rarely in a good condition. Still, I'd classify them as a risky team when it comes to betting on their games.

Sharing my picks for the games later,

Los Angeles Clippers -2.5 vs New York Knicks
Atlanta Hawks vs Denver Nuggets -6
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 04, 2023, 06:15:52 PM
That's for sure because this is a rare scenario and probably one of the most memorable play in the league because there will be another player who will pass Kareem's scoring title and that would take a lot of time before LeBron will get dethroned by someone in the next generations.

May take a while but maybe sooner. The way the game is being played right now, the scoring title can be over took sooner. We are seeing high scoring games lately and I barely see games with scores under 100. Stars are shooting 3s like it is just a perimeter shot. If this kind of game continues, a prolific scorer with a durable body will be able to do it.

Aside from that, the league is now improving and even the big guys now are shooting beyond the arc with high percentage. So different from what he saw back in the day because the big guys are focused to guard the center and doing the most physical play. And, I almost forgot, this season alone, it's quite unexpected that players are now easily putting 40-50 points in any given game.

Probably but the key is how consistent they will be in the future in order to beat that record to be set by Lebron before he retires. Even if this guys are scoring 40-50 points in any game but they are not that consistent, missing games and injuries it will be hard to break that record.

There are no one in the top 10 of the scoring leaders that are active, the closest is #14 who is Kevin Durant, and then Harden and Westbrook #27 and #28 on that list.

Yes, that too will determine if the next generations can somehow break LeBron James's record but I think that would take at least a decade from now because just like what you've said, the active guys down the line are far enough to even approach the Top 5 while Durant may be situated at the 10th place before he retires, still up to him if how consistent he is when he's much older later on.
1160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 25 in Saudi Arabia on: February 02, 2023, 08:36:54 PM
I think I’d rather be betting on whether or not this fight takes place. Tommy has ducked Jake so many times now, it seems more like he’s trolling Jake by accepting these fights. If they do fight though, I don’t think Tommy has a chance. I was watching some of his fight videos and he really doesn’t look like a pro fighter. Jake will probably be able to knock him out at which point I think KSI or Nate Diaz would be the next fights to make.

Fair point, and for that, Tommy still has another month to decide if whether he will continue to fight Jake or not. I know that this fight has been inked already but considering Tommy's past decisions towards this fight and Jake Paul in particular, it's not that far that he will make a run again and leave Jake in the air with the thoughts of finally having a bout with Tommy. But in any case, if this fight really pushes through, Jake Paul will eventually defeat Tommy Fury, no doubt.
Tommy is nothing compared to Jake Paul, so I’ll be rooting for Jake Paul too and leave Tommy in defeat. But if ever he’ll pull out from this fight again, that will only tell how coward he is so I guess he will really pursue this game especially that he’s now more motivated to fight because he’s now a father to his newborn daughter. Still, despite of the obvious result for this game, I would still love to watch these two inside the ring.

Expected for many fans that they choose Paul over Fury because he is famous also to many hype videos spreading about his trainings that's why they think about he have great advantage on this fight. But we shouldn't forget that Tommy Fury is experienced fighter as well he trained very well so we cannot take this easy including Paul because he might get defeated for expecting to much and taking this fight for granted. Maybe he's inspired about his daughter but it could also a distraction since maybe that can affect's Paul's training.

I got your point mate, Jake Paul is indeed too hyped enough and that's because he got a huge fan base on the social media which explains why are we seeing some reels about him and about his recent fights, even trainings. But c'mon, Tommy over Jake? I mean, that's possible though but Tommy's chances are actually slim than the latter to win the fight. Apart from that, their power difference is quite evident enough to see who got the upper hand.
