1161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exciting Bitcoin Projects! on: July 12, 2016, 10:55:31 AM
oK so the reward halving has happened, whats your thoughts on it. The inflation rate has halved, i think the bitcoin price will slowly climb back up now.

Bitcoin has by far the lowest inflation rate of all currencies therefore the capital should come into it anytime now.
The rise up in value would take several weeks, months even. If we look at the first halving, the price really doubled. But it actually took roughly two months for that to happen. I'm not sure whether that would apply to today as well, but maybe, just maybe it's going to need that much time as well.

I agree that the price will eventually start to go up but I think it might take a lot longer that last time for it to double. The halving has come and gone but it didn't bring a massive boost in adoption. We'll have to wait for the Bitcoin adoption rate to continue its own natural evolution.

I'm not sure if you can compare first halving to this one.
During the first halving bitcoin was not very famous.
Now it's know by a lot of people, speculators and gamblers among them. And that changes the price developement compared to first halving.
1162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Misinterpretation about halving. on: July 12, 2016, 10:49:26 AM
After the halving, only half as much new bitcoins are generated than before.
With the assumption that the demand stays stable, the price should rise in the near future.
Mabe this effect is already included in the price rise before halving, but sooner or later I expect it to be visible in the charts.

The problem with faucets is that they generate bad traffic.
The real humans who visite those faucets, the just want the satoshis and do not care about ads.
And the many bots who visit faucets even care less about ads.
To me it makes no sense to advertise on faucets.
1164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Anonymous Enough For You? on: July 12, 2016, 10:24:58 AM
To me it's anonymous enough.
Usually there is no connection on the first sight between my wallet and my real name.
That is enough for me. Of course if somebody is capable and has taime, it might be possible to make that connectin.
But who would be bored enough to do so? and why?
1165  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Ethereum future on: July 12, 2016, 09:10:59 AM
If that hack a month ago could not take ether down, and the planed hard fork does not either, what should stop ether?
I mistrusted it in the beginning, thought it was a pump & dump alt.
But recent developement made me believe that there is an actual future.
1166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee will start BTC Mining on: July 12, 2016, 09:05:36 AM
If a billionaire is interested in bitcoin, why not.
All those resources and connections he brings along surly won't hurt bitcoin.
Might lead to another rise in price. I welcome that.
1167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another newbie! have a few questions on: July 12, 2016, 05:39:20 AM
Blockchain.info is a good wallet and I have some wallets there too.
But do not forget to make that 12 words recovery phrase.
Otherewise it could seperate you from your coins, if you lose your password or so.
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If u were Warren Buffet would u buy 51% of Bitcoins? on: July 11, 2016, 07:29:30 AM
Warren buffet is 85 years old.
I'm sure he is one of the best managers and investors there is, but I do not think he is much of a computer tech guy.
I think he is underestimating the potential in bitcoin.
Besides, if I was him, would I buy 51% of the coins?
No, I think that would ruin the worth of those 51% I would posess then.
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's Halving Day! What Can You Say? on: July 09, 2016, 03:11:02 PM
A few months ago I thought halving will bring price increase, but I think that already happend.
Then I thought, price will drop the nearer halving comes. Obviously it does not do that.
Now I'm pretty confident that today nothing big is going to happen.
Maybe in a few days we will see fluctuatuins.
1170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving event: expectation vs. reality on: July 09, 2016, 01:25:15 PM
I think the real effect of halving will show up in two or three days.
When the miners have sorted things out how much they still earn for their coins in regard to electricity cost.
Everything befor that is speculation.
1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Etherium price is decreasing day by day ? on: July 09, 2016, 06:46:00 AM
Well i think it is because of DAO issue thats why the price is decreasing day by day and also thats why the price is decreasing its because ethereum investors are converting their eth to bitcoin because block halving is nearly come..

I do not think the Ethereum holders are converting the eth to bitcoin. If so, the bitcoin price would not drop 10% yesterday.

I could imagine that it is the other way round. Btc users are converting into ether, at least the next few days. Till after halving.
To avoid the uncertainty of the upcoming halving.
This could give ether another push!

Given all the coins in this space, ether might literally at the moment the most uncertain bet you can place your value into. If I had to choose between a halving event that has already elevated the price from 450 to 650, or a hacking event that has recently devalued a coin from 20 to 10 dollars, hell, I want the first choice.

TLDR: ether is not a 'haven' asset for bitcoin holders, ESP in its present condition.

It's like acknowledging the uncertainty of the Halving, but ignoring the elephant shaped Ethereum hard fork in the room.

Yeah the hard fork is a big uncertainty, but I don't think it will come before halving...
By the way, when are thy planing to do so? is there some sort of time table?
1172  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your least favorite thing about Bitcoin? on: July 08, 2016, 07:48:46 AM
I do not like the fact that Bitcoin is used by many scammers, using the fact that sent the transaction can not be canceled. And as they rob those who only learned about Bitcoin, beginners. And also, a complicated process output in paper money. Many exchangers give it a very big percent commission.

Unfortunatelly scammers are a necessary evil in the way bitcoin operates.
There will be always those who try to exploit the others no matter what.
But here in betcoin you can minimize that chance by simply using your head.
If somethins sounds too good, it mostly is.

1174  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: July 08, 2016, 07:25:22 AM
As long as there are ways to convert bitcoin into fiat and back I believe in bitcoin.
The whole technology, as good as it is, would turn useless if I was not able to draw some money out of it.
That is why I hope, gouvernments do not have the idea of turning the use of bitcoin into something illegal.
1175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase banned Germany & Luxembourg on: July 07, 2016, 01:59:07 PM
Germany is putting up some laws against money laundry right these days.
Those include terms regarding buying & selling of crypto money.
I think coinbase does not want to have any legal trouble there and sort things out first if they can fulfill those restrictions.
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - Time to buy or time to sell? on: July 05, 2016, 06:05:31 PM
Leaning towards staying away from Eth right now, long term still good prospects but for the moment enjoying being a spectator.

I think the Ethereum will go no where within 27 days of the initial attack. It might change violently after that time.

The price is dripping at the moment. People are waiting for the results of the soft fork and see the effect.

I will wait for a few weeks to see the effect of the soft fork. If it is very good, I will start buying Ethereum.

The Ethereum price has dropped below $10 for the first time in many months. It seems some people are selling.

From what I understand is that the hard fork would take away all the ether that was taken in the hack from the address where it is now and put it back to another address.
Really, if they make that once, who says they can't make it a second time?? It would be an invasion in the blockchain.
That destroys a lot of trust, so people sell.

That could be caused by the discussion of the hard fork in the reddit. That caused some kind of uncertainty.
1177  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: July 05, 2016, 03:37:15 PM
I would accept about 25% of my regular income in bitcoins.
If it was all bitcoins, it would be just too complicated.
They have to be exchamged in fiat, that mean complications with taxes.
Then there is the volatility thing, which means I might have to sell at a low price if I urgently need money.
1178  Other / Off-topic / Re: Steady Way To earn Bitcoin Online... on: July 05, 2016, 03:04:13 PM
There is only one way for steady earnings in bitcoin which is in this forum when you join a campaign signature, twitter and avatar campaign. gambling and trading is not steady earnings. In trading you need to wait for the time before you had a profit. In gambling  most of the time lost than wins so theres two is not steady and chanceof lost

Yes signature campaign will allow you to earn steady income and it is the best way to start off with bitcoin, trading and gambling involves risk and there is no guarantee that you will earn every time from it.

I can confirm that. With signature campaigns I can at least earn a little.
That little I use for trading, but without much success.
Usually a coin decreases in price after I buy. Clearly I am doing something wrong but I have not found out yet what that might be.
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Etherium price is decreasing day by day ? on: July 05, 2016, 02:54:54 PM
As etherium is decreasing, so can we have a reason behind that and what are the future expectations.

I am sure it is of the soft fork.
They did manipulate the price of ETH and the DAO last week by pumping it.

But let's be real, if you are an holder and you know about decentralization, would you trust ETH now?

From all I have read today, they have stopped the soft fork plan and moved on in doing a hard fork.
Does anybody know when this is going to take place?
1180  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie need a good advice on: July 05, 2016, 08:26:01 AM
what will you do when you have no money or anything to get bitcoin? I know faucet, but I was not interested.
I also know the signature campaign, but it is not worth for currently, and I also do not have any skills? advice a good website to get bitcoin? or learn how to get a sklill so I could sell my skills?

Honestly: if you have no skills, no money to invest in trading and no time to wait to get a highere rank here for signature campaigns, I do not see a way for you to earn.
I would advise you to keep your account here in mind, get a higher rank as soon as possible and use your time while doing so with learning about bitcoins.
