1181  Other / Serious discussion / Legalization of drugs? on: January 26, 2018, 10:52:19 PM
My vote is yes, for those over 18 years of age. I think all drugs should be available over the counter. Instead of creating black markets for drugs, why not have it open market and just propagandize the dangers?

---
Edit1:
Wow. That's a pretty even split in votes. We're at 2/2/2!  Shocked

Edit2: 20 / 14 / 17. Legalization of all drugs is winning. Noice.

^User has +50 and is looking to buy a hero member account
Tagged. You should watch this user, i.e. where exactly he is going to send his sMerit to.

Is there something in place to show where a user sends merit too? I do not think so yet,

Yeah. Just found it myself; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=408367

replace the u= with the actual user id that you want to track.

Edit: It looks like its in the user's profile under post count now. Woo admins!
1183  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting merited post? on: January 25, 2018, 06:15:20 PM
Is this the new trick to gain merit?

It stays. No need to further test.
/thread.

Damn, saw right through me. Thanks for the reply. Locking the thread to prevent further spam.
1184  Other / Meta / Deleting merited post? on: January 25, 2018, 06:12:38 PM
Do merits stay or go?

If they stay, then merits can be done entirely privately. An example would be using alt accounts to merit a buried / old post, and then delete that post.

If they go, that's neat.
1185  Other / Meta / Re: Merit System Numbers too high to achieve - A Suggestion on: January 25, 2018, 06:07:50 PM
A single thread generated over 500 merit for a single user... I don't see how it'd be hard to earn 1000 merit within a year or so.
1186  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 25, 2018, 05:48:42 PM
I already don't like the way clicking on +merit takes you away from the thread.  Can you please have it open in a new window?

Please no.

Right click and open in new window if you want this feature.

Worst comes to worst, you could write a greasemonkey / some other client side script to modify the target to _blank.
1187  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I change my IP location. on: January 24, 2018, 03:01:09 AM
If I need to relay / hide my home IP address, I normally just bounce through one of my servers somewhere. Cost $5 for a DO instance / month that can give you 1 TB of traffic, which isn't too bad.
1188  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted ? why ? People must see this ! on: January 21, 2018, 09:00:54 PM
I won`t go away because you want to ... why the owner of the site don`t see what kind of person you are .
You can`t be the dictator of this forum.
You have doupe accounts because of you are greedy for air drops and others .

You broke the rules countless times. You still refuse to play by them so you're banned and as a global moderator I enforce those rules and bans. When idiots like you can't follow rules despite several warnings and bans they are no longer allowed to post here. These rules apply to everyone not just you so stop playing the victim.

you are the idiot here not me , why you don`t answer about your doupe accounts and i don`t think you can be the dictator of this forum , you are a simple MOD , not even a ADMIN.

You call yourself a mod ? why you want us to respect the rulles witch you don`t respect them .

1 ) Call me a scammer , hacker , cheater ( without proofs )
2 ) Doupe accounts  : hilariousandco + hilariousetc ( you are use them bouth )
3 ) Bad Language
4 ) You must mediate the situation not to ban everyone.

Hey cuntface, maybe you should read the list of rules instead of making up random bullshit.

1: Fuck off? eh? You're a scammer (those trusts so that) and a hacker (well, probably just a skiddy that downloaded a password dump database). You've abused the trust system, so you're already a cheater.

2. The forums do not have any rules against multiple accounts. The rule you're violating is ban evasion, which is entirely different. If hilariousandco was banned, I'd expect his alts to be banned too.

3. Fuck off cunt, don't even know the fucking rules you fucking bitch.

4. Go to the store, buy the largest catus you can, now take that and shove it up your ass. See? Telling people what to do  is retarded as shit, even more so when you suggest doing stupid shit.

Maybe go read this thread and beg for another chance before you're actually permanently banned? eh? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Then again, you seem to have the reading comprehension skills of a pig. Actually, I bet there's pigs smarter than you out there. I'd say you'd rival the skills of an autistic pig.

Fuck, the fact that you've sold / given away software licensing that was illegally obtained is enough to justify throwing you in jail for the next decade or two by my nation's legal standards. You're lucky a few bans from an online forum is all you got so far.

1189  Other / Serious discussion / Re: generation of cryptographic private keys from personal biometrics on: January 20, 2018, 06:46:11 PM
I hadn't really given this much thought, but it's actually not a half bad concept. But instead of private keys, say public keys.

Maybe for verification of ownership of the keys, but not actually using the seed.

This way, you can generate a trillion random public keys, but you can prove actual ownership of them by providing your unique biometric.

It'd make sense for a nation to use something like this for identification purposes or digital signatures. No one should really have your biometric, and even if they did, they'd still need your private key to prove anything.
1190  Other / Meta / Re: Serious Discussion on: January 19, 2018, 03:42:33 PM
Are you posting there? Smiley

Once in a while. Still writing a fairly detailed topic for it.
1191  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How to end the "BTC Civil War" before it gets worse? on: January 17, 2018, 10:54:45 PM
Hmm, civil war? That's a laugh.

It's crazy how centralized Bitcoin actually is already.

A very tiny fraction of people make most of the choice for the majority currently. It's more like here's several superpower like entities all deciding the fate of this cryptocurrency.
1192  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted ? why ? People must see this ! on: January 17, 2018, 10:50:24 PM
I had 3 accounts all of them banned and Got negative for no reason from Hilarious and co.

i`m a respected and good seller but hilarious had problems with me everytime.

If you want to know my Username , here it is : Steamproject .

So are you complaining about a ban from a year ago when Hilarious left feedback or is this ban recent?
And your other accounts I'm assuming are marius, tberty, Dorkslayz...?
Are you denying the fact that you were fake vouching/spamming your own threads with your alts or do you just think this is acceptable behavior?

1) yeah i complained to Cyrus and he agree with me but Hilarious didn`t want to remove it.
2) Tberty , dorkslayz , i never used Marius or maybe i did in early times.
3 ) I made some vouching but that was because All the members from the market did that and because the admins didn`t give a fuck .

now i have few questions : Why i was the only one banned ?  Why the scammers and cheaters on the market still have accounts ? why No admin answered when i reported ALOT OF MEMBERS FOR CHEATING , SPAMMING AND SCAMMING ? Why i was the only one who got banned without any kind of proofs ?

P.s Like i said earlier i got multiple negatives from a single guy ( Admins can check the ip ) witch it was my competitor.

P.s2 Sorry for my bad english but i am not a native speaker i wish you all to speak my language like is speak english.

IS HARD WHEN I SAY THE TRUTH HILARIOUSANDCO ....and for sure i`ll get banned on this account aswell.

Quoted for reference for trust rating.

Admitting to abuse the web of trust is dumb as fuck, might as well spin up a new shell for yourself.
1193  Other / Meta / Serious Discussion on: January 17, 2018, 10:13:40 PM
Great job mods/admins. Exactly the sort of thing bitcointalk needed.
1194  Other / Serious discussion / Re: IPFS is a Game-Changer? on: January 17, 2018, 10:06:30 PM
This project seems absolutely brilliant. Literally a distributed Git system without having a "trusted" PKI, "trusted" DNS, or any of the other centralized authority bullshit we have on the Internet today.

with what do IPFS users get incentivized?

What incentives are there for torrenting files? Sharing is caring.

Also, if you're a content producer, you can deliver to a world wide population fairly easily and quickly... this is a problem that can costs individuals tens of thousands of dollars to solve currently... or relying on an untrusted third-party entity (looking at you Alphabet).

I've been reading about it but it is still not clear to me.

Check out the Wikipedia page and the git repo. I bet IPFS released on the IPFS network too... which is pretty neat.

i've also thought that IPFS works like a torrent network, but i like how they said that
Quote
Each file and all of the blocks within it are given a unique fingerprint called a cryptographic hash.

Torrents use hashes per block too. You really should read the Wikipedia page and check it out.

It's great idea, but i doubt it would works well if the web have huge content (such as videos or high-res images) or in huge scale.

That's actually a good point I hadn't given much thought. I'm willing to bet large blobs are split into smaller blocks and distributed. It'd be interesting if that were not the case, there could be a lot more optimization for that.

1196  Other / Meta / Re: Farming and Bitcointalk on: January 08, 2018, 08:19:49 PM
So, I started using this forum a couple of days ago. I posted a couple of questions that I really have on the issues that are of interest to me.

Instead of good responses, I am getting real shit posts. here's an example - http://joxi.ru/V2V6ZRyU0Oabb2. I am not trying to be a guy who's annoyingly compaining all the time and I am sure that I would love the years that I will spend here. I am a copywriter and write a lot on crypto and ICO.

I understand that there's some farming going on here. And that's probably OK.

So, I just have to use the "report to moderator" button and move on, right? And it's most definetly going to get much tougher with more and more farmers flocking here within the next couple of years, right.

What's your take? Is there a lot of farming and very little? Like from 1 to 100 scores?

There is a lot of farming going on here thanks to the signature campaigns, these campaigns are the reason the traffic here is so high because Bitcointalk is no longer just a forum, it is an economic marketplace that enables the poorest of the poor a fighting chance to get rich. Quite literally.
And you constantly reporting everything other post to the mod would only slow things down. Report things that are genuinely offtopic & are considered shitposts by the majority here (and not just you).

Are you saying we should accept a lower quality of posts just because there's money to be made from making shitty posts? That's retarded.

OP, I've just learned to deal with it. Report a post every once in a while that is pure spam, but there's no great solution to the problem at hand.
1197  Other / Meta / Re: action=.xml is disabled due to slowness. If you use this, write a post in Meta on: December 24, 2017, 06:56:00 PM
Same, here. Currently you would be required to scrape the website and extract the DOM elements from the HTML. And then parse those. I am very curious if we can get an answer from somewhere. I've found nothing in meta.

Same. Wouldn't generating all that extra shit take more CPU / bandwidth than the xml page? ._.
1198  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel like part of a Bitcoin community, or pretty much left behind? on: December 19, 2017, 01:37:38 AM
Meh. When you're advertising vaporware, it needs to look sexy.

The underlying tech for most ICOs is absolute garbage. I'm amazed half of them receive any funding at all.
1199  Other / Meta / Re: New members should not be allowed to post in the marketplace on: December 16, 2017, 02:28:09 AM
No. New members should be able to make posts. Post count isn't equivalent to trust. You should be wary regardless of the post account.

I think there should be a 1 hour login limit though before making your first post in the market.

I made this:

http://files.falgsc.org/pathfinder/

The number of the .png is the iteration of the world. Take a look at these two:

http://files.falgsc.org/pathfinder/11250.png
http://files.falgsc.org/pathfinder/12250.png

Only 10000 iterations got us this far. It goes up to 110k by 250 iterations per image.
