IPO funds are used to pay developers for their time so they dont have to get a job and can focus on developing HVC and the community. Yeah there is no way to monitor what they are doing with them, but I would rather have the developers getting paid, instead of working a job or doing client work.

The developers are solid, and nobody should work for free unless you have the luxury to do so...

CGB Core Team Weekly Update – March 18, 2014

With the site together and some final dns and web config left, we are confident that we will be able to announce the official launch tomorrow! Seeing the website almost ready is the culmination of two weeks of hard work for our team and two months of hard work amongst our community. Momentum has been building in CGB since late January as community members, facing an existential question about the currency itself, began working together with a new understanding of the direction of Cryptogenic Bullion. Bitcoin had been taking a hard beating in the media, causing panic selling, while CGB itself tapers off its inflationary phase, causing the miners to lose interest. A monstrous 3-month decline from all-time highs to near all-time lows saw almost 1 million CGB volume traded from weaker hands into the strong at the formidable 0.001BTC/CGB line. With the understanding that this rare feature of low inflation in a crypto-currency protects capital, investors are now being presented with a different Cryptogenic Bullion than the one we've known since last summer's CGB launch.

As our community hopped on to Reddit our number of subscribers there has sky-rocketed to over 150 from the 23 seen in the 3 months prior. We have all been working hard to revive CGB's image and services, while launching a campaign of education as the central focus to our new marketing strategy. Viral marketing is so promising because it can be done on a community's budget. Not only does CGB intend to leverage viral themes in our community produced content, but the strategy of educating each other and empowering each new member to teach others, is a viral method of honest advertisement. With the completion of our new website, it becomes a much more efficient process and as the site is further developed, the true potential of this strategy will become apparent.

Since our last meeting we have been focusing our time amongst development of the next client version 1.1.6.7, and the new website. Even after launch, we still have a lot of work to do on the website to tidy everything up and add illustrations and other elements. WIth our Reddit support base fired up, and community resources coming online, we are geared up for our next primary focus which will be promotional marketing initiatives built on this foundation. Expect many changes on the website over the coming weeks and a greater reflection of community empowerment.
