1181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new malware designed to beat 2-fa authentication on: February 01, 2019, 03:06:24 AM
It is very alarming news for the general people who use Internet from PC, or Android. If Google Chrome isn't enable to protect such maleware, it is shocking. I think Google Chrome will detect this maleware soon.

Looks like it's more about Mac. It steals cookies, quite smart but it will only work if users choose to save cookies or something similar. A way to protect from this attack would be to always disable cookies, and avoid any malicious software. Let's hope Mac will be able to solve this issue soon.

Btw, this makes me think switching to GNU/Linux is one of my best choices in life.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Pindify Token Blockchain Platform A Market Place For Content Creators on: January 31, 2019, 06:27:34 AM
Why would PDI integration be essential for Pindify? It's something being worked on, but I would not say it's essential for Pindify to operate.
Of course, it's essential for the value of Pindex Wink

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say. Unless of course, it's not the priority.

1183  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency and regulation, do we need it? on: January 31, 2019, 05:42:15 AM
Quite the irony. While I don't believe Bitcoin is created to create and ditch government, but somehow more people believe government approval is needed to grow ecosystem. I believe government will eventually accept the fact that it's impossible to ban crypto, and they'll regulate it in order to make sure nobody will fall for scams, but the pessimistic approach that crypto won't grow without government help is a little annoying.

We've grown so much right now, without any help from government. Peer to peer exchange is almost impossible to stop, and government certainly realize that too.
1184  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why signing same message with same private key is yielding different signatures? on: January 31, 2019, 04:39:51 AM
However some software will, instead generate the random number by hashing the private key and the message being signed. This will make a number that is random enough, secret (because the private key is also secret), and extremely unlikely to be seen in different signatures. This will result in the same signature when you signing the same message multiple times.

CMIIW, does this mean it's better to use a wallet that can produce the same signature for the same message?
I'm also curious what wallet has been used by OP, would be great if he can answer it.
1185  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: January 31, 2019, 04:05:21 AM
If we run their program or vanitygen on it, how many keys/s can it archived?

The best answer would be to try it by yourself. Theoretically, it should be faster than CPU/GPU though. Personally I think OCL is fast enough to create an address/key pair. On top of that, we can use split key too. Loyce has a nice tutorial about this.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoin-Backed Stablecoin (WBTC) Has Launched on the Ethereum on: January 31, 2019, 03:46:56 AM
Seems like we can audit the collateral publicly. Still, it would be great if they prove they really control the Bitcoin address being published for the audit though[1].

The only possible use-case for WBTC that I could think of right now is for multi-collateral DAI on the MakerDAO platform; beyond that, I really don't know.

It's add more trading pairs, at least. Even though I personally won't use it.

1187  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Q&A][TIPS] Seputar Bounty/Airdrop Di Sini on: January 30, 2019, 06:14:16 AM

Sekedar menambahkan jawaban agan mu_enrico.

1188  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia has been in "maintenance" for the last 14 hours! on: January 30, 2019, 05:04:25 AM
I doubt the police cyber-crime division even knows how to secure and sweep wallets.
Lets hope they sweep the remaining un-hacked wallets into a police wallet at least or get the right people to deal with it well assuming that cryptopia has the keys ...

I'm more surprised that Cryptopia doesn't tell them how to do it, or why don't they notify every user (if it's true that the wallet address is refilled by the users) about the hack. Seems like Cryptopia's game over will come very soon.
1189  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think, will running a site like this be profitable ? on: January 30, 2019, 04:17:19 AM
Seems like this is a daily lottery site where you'll pick random address to give them Bitcoin. Tbh, it sounds too good to be true and you don't explain how you get that Bitcoin. Let's say you plan to add ads, so every day user must visit some site while you earn from that. But it stills doesn't sound so convincing. What if you use the email data for your own purpose, like selling it? It's risky for users I believe, and maybe only those who doesn't care about their own safety will use this.
1190  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin lock if (time == 5years || price == $50k) on: January 30, 2019, 03:49:06 AM
Let me try it if anybody has successfully made the apps. Cheesy
I'll unlock it when 1 BTC = $1 million.

We can also use this to ensure that whales or big players won't dump their Bitcoin by daring them to lock their Bitcoin and unlock it when the price reach whatever that they predicted. I'm sure McAfee won't use this though.
1191  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost all funds after wallet open (v.3.3.3) on: January 30, 2019, 02:59:59 AM
EDIT: and now it is redirecting to electrum.org... either my DNS provider has just caught up, or they're doing something clever to avoid users figuring out that they downloaded from a malware site... work once, then redirect requests from the same IP? Huh

I tried to access it and got redirected too (for the first time). Maybe the DNS provider has caught up, or maybe they decide to stop it to make sure they can scam another one? Who knows. At least we know that whatever happens verifying the signature is important.
1192  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [SOLUSI] Indodax Kebobolan !!! on: January 29, 2019, 06:32:55 AM

1193  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-28] Galaxy Digital Seeks $250M To Fund Crypto-Collateralized Loans on: January 29, 2019, 06:09:09 AM
Seems like lending will be the new market to be penetrated by institutional investors. There's already several ICO aiming to tackle the problems there though, such as BridgeX, Ethlend etc. Not sure how they will compete but pretty sure it will provide more competition.

But seriously, do we really need $250m for this project? Looks like big players are throwing around money here and there with the aim to find the next hectocorn.
1194  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Liqui.io shuts down on: January 29, 2019, 05:00:56 AM
Last year there's a lot of new exchange coming up too, I wonder how many of them will face the same fate as Liqui (or maybe just disappear). It's probably best to hold on their launch (while their token price dumped of course) before they get rekt. Telegram group is full of angry voice here and there, quite sad to see but it's unavoidable given the market conditions.

If any of them survive, they should be an alternative in the middle of South Korean and Malta exchanges.
1195  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-29] Binance: Decentralized Exchange Will Connect with Hardware wallets on: January 29, 2019, 04:01:24 AM
Part of a broader project dubbed Binance Chain, Zhao previously said he foresaw the platform fully replacing the extant Binance exchange.

Translation: Let's hype this now the Justin style!

I'll use this DEX as long as they don't require KYC, 2 BTC withdrawal limits is okay for me. If that's not possible, bye-bye Binance.

1196  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: (DISKUSI) Akankah Cryptocurrency Menjadi Sistem Pembayaran Global di Masa Depan? on: January 29, 2019, 03:06:48 AM

1197  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Report: In Indonesia legal Bitcoin is based on commodities on: January 29, 2019, 02:28:10 AM
On the other hand, I'm actually glad that crypto as it is hasn't been the currency we want and expect it to be. I prefer to see it gain more adoption in the coming years and then explode in their face.

Adoption is ongoing, more government have open up their stance to crypto. Indonesia is one of those few countries that does that. Even though Bitcoin is not legal yet as a medium of payment, but there's no further hostility about them. Cryptocurrency in general is viewed as speculative investment too.

That might change when there's enough supply and demand, when ICO product is working properly (maybe only a few of them) and when the majority of people know and use it on some degree. Like it or not, the average Joe in Indonesia knows about crypto due to bounty and stuff, so ICO play some part in it. But it might change sooner or later.
1198  Local / Mining (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [FAQS][Tips] Tanya Jawab Seputar Mining on: January 28, 2019, 02:42:51 PM
Setau saya hampir semua not yang ada memakai/mengarah me sistem referral.

1199  Local / Mining (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [FAQS][Tips] Tanya Jawab Seputar Mining on: January 28, 2019, 03:02:05 AM
Sebelum saya tersesat terlalu jauh, saya mau tanya seputar mining bot di telegram. Apakah mereka benar-benar terbukti membayar?
