Changing the symbol from BCC to BCH on the client and websites would help the brand as BCC is already taken. ViaBTC can't just expect BitConnect to go away just because they would rather use BCC for Bitcoin Cash. It looks like several exchanges are standardizing on BCH (BCash). Trezor has also. Having the brand consistent across exchanges is good for business and avoids confusing buyers.

This would be a quite interesting auction without that high starting bid. No offense of course. A seller is free to ask what he wants.

Surprised that Coinbase did not reject the withdrawal outright. Their automated systems should have told you 'sorry that is more bitcoin than you have in your account try again'. Servers must be overloaded.

Maybe use the S7 on BCC while difficulty is low.

Hi All,
I mostly use my hardware wallet to save most of my bitcoins where I have access to my private key.
However, I also keep a good amount of bitcoin in my online BlockChain wallet for quick trading transfers.
my question is, do I need to worry about my bitcoins I hold in my online wallet? Will it be safe? What can be the consequence of of August 1st network split on my bitcoins?
Can anyone please give me an answer?
If you are using a Trezor or Ledger Nano S move your bitcoin from Blockchain to your hardware wallet. Both those manufacturers have stated they will have a splitting tool so you can claim your BCC. But you need to move the bitcoin now before the hard fork. Keep up to date by browsing the Trezor and Ledger Wallet subs on reddit.

Just hold both your BTC and BCH. If there really is a back room conspiracy for BCH to take over from BTC you will be able to see it coming, just watch the hash rate on both chains. Since the Chinese mining cartel controls the majority hash rate you can not rule out a black swan event.
Ya try to hold you Btc after August 1.Why because, anything may happen. No one know that.Either may increase in bitcoin price or else the bitcoin may change to BCC.I.e ,Bitcoin will be replaced by another altcoin. Their is a possibility for both. So keep calm till August 1. You will need to sit on your BCH for a number of months most likely. Patience.

I am a newbie. As I am trying to figure out the best wallet to use, Copay seems pretty attractive. I am not sure though: Can it support cold storage?
I presume "supporting cold storage" means, among other things:
- Sign a transaction on an off-line computer, transfer signature information with USB stick, and broadcast the transaction from an on-line machine. - Being able to transact with keys important from a paper wallet. - Create a 'watch wallet' to follow what is happening at the public address of a paper wallet.
Can Copay do the above, and/or support cold storage in other ways ?
You can't do cold storage with Copay that way. What you are describing is how Electrum supports cold storage using two computers, one always kept offline. Both Copay and Electrum also work with hardware wallets. But when Trezor and Ledger Nano S came along they pretty much replaced using two computers for secure bitcoin storage and transactions. Costs less for a hardware wallet than dedicating a second computer; there are some fans of Armory who still use two computers for cold storage though.

This is a no brainer. Hold both your BTC and BCC.
This is true only if you value fiat more than bitcoin. If not, only important consideration is how many BTC you'll buy by selling your BCC. If BTC appreciates faster than BCC then your "hold both" strategy is losers choice. If you can predict BCC and BTC price 6 months out you should already be a rich retired trader who does not need to hang out on crypto forums:)

Well, I have a dilemma about what to do with the BCC that we will receive after the HF, and those are the options i can see:
a) Dump the shit for real BTC, ASAP!
b) Wait a little, until (...) happens, or markets stabilizes, and then dump the shit.
c) Hodl. Elites want BCC to be the new Bitcoin, and it will absorb almost all the market cap of the real Bitcoin (ok, yeah, sometimes i have conspiranoic nightmares with all this kind of stuff). Or simply hold because it is free.
What would you guys choose?
This is a no brainer. Hold both your BTC and BCC. Remember ETH/ETC fork. Holding both gives you the perfect hedge. If BCC crashes and you want to pick some extra up cheap your call but I would pay with fiat, not with your BTC. You should be able to buy BCC with cash on Kraken.

So move your bitcoin to Kraken or a Trezor. Get busy.

I think VirusTotal is throwing a false positive. Malwarebytes Pro has no problem with the portable version nor does HitMan Pro. The developer of Electrum has said previously "Note that Electrum binaries for Windows are not created on Windows, but on a Linux computer running Wine. Thus, this machine cannot be infected with Windows malware."

please to tell, where is this BCC dump?
Those crooks that decided to fork into Bitcoin Cash know very well that this unit will be sold into oblivion and will not exist for a very long time. What they bet on is stealing bitcoins from illiterate noobs that can't correctly split their wallets. That is their game. Act with extreme care and follow split manuals only from verified sources! You should have read the outrage and whining on the Bitcoin ABC slack when two way replay protection was added to the client:)

|
|
If you are going to transact with Bitcoin ABC you need to download the client and make sure it uses a different data directory to save the blockchain if you also have Bitcoin Core on the same computer. After the fork you will have two different data directories for the blockchains, one for Core and another for ABC. Since both clients listen on port 8333 you can only run one at a time if you have the port open. Just make sure after the fork if you want to receive Bitcoin Cash use an address from the ABC client and if you want to send Bitcoin Cash use the ABC client of course. If you are using a Trezor the online web wallet will do the work for you. For every bitcoin you own you will also be airdropped one bitcoin cash.

BCC or BCH whatever won't even exist until Aug 1 once you have some you can sell at the exchanges that support trading like Kraken.

courboy sorry you are still having a problem. Has Ledger support been of any help? As last resort you could always wipe your Nano S and restore from your seed. It sounds to me like Ledger is having a problem with their back end server. I had an Ether transaction lost for 48 hours once until they got the backend working again.

|
|
Would you be concerned at all if private keys to Bitcoin Cash were on a Trezor or Nano S? Both hardware wallets will support BCH.
