yeah, looks like the workers are showing up on the dashboard, just no hash yet.
I am waiting for the hash to appear
Thank you

Sounds like you got it then... The slowness of the hash showing up had me all screwed up the first time. You can also set up your account as PPS or PPLNS
122  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: October 31, 2015, 04:32:58 PM
ok aurel, but in the miners settings what do I put for worker and password?
I put the sub-account name ? eg. vortexz.1 ?

ok I have a sub that is aurel so on my miners config page i have aurel_1 for the miner and password can be anything as most pools are.
123  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: October 31, 2015, 04:18:03 PM
where do I get my worker name from ?
what is my worker ?
noob question yes, but I can't see it anywhere on my antpool account

Go to your account settings. I added a sub account of aurel (you may use like vortexz)...add a wallet to mine to there also. Then use that subaccount name (aurel for me) then if you add more than one miner and you want to keep them seperate you can add aurel.1 or aurel.2...ect. (you may want vortexz.1 ) once you have them mining go to your dashboard and check your workers, as the workers are added automatically. If they show up you should be good as it takes a while for the hash to catch up and show anything..maybe 10 mins but if the workers are showing up leave it go for 10 mins. I made the mistake of screwing with it as no hash was showing up and I didn't know it would take a while.
124  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: October 30, 2015, 01:43:14 PM
Just switched to antpool from eligus and I'm having a hard time finding where to view my current status. I have 5ths pointed that way before I turn my other 4ths over but I would like to confirm its actually working.

User interface of the miners say they are hashing.

Antpool

Then log in, look at your dashboard and you will see your hash rate on the chart to the right and also your earned coin on the left. Then you can click on workers and should see the miners.

If you don't see anything and you have given it a hour then you may very well not have your pool info configure right in the miners.

And now a question about flashing the new firmware.  I have to be honest, I don't think I've done this since the S1 days which was a simple .bin file to flash them with.  But the new file is a tarball with multiple files in it.  I have tried linking the tar.gz file and it wouldn't take it, then I just untar'd it and tried, still nothing.  The fully uncompressed file has several files in it, so I didn't want to risk just flashing with the .bin file since there's also a script file and a couple of others...

TL:DR - What's the process to flash my S7 with the 600 MHz firmware upgrade?
There is an upgrade tab on n the system section on the web gui.
You browse for file , select it an click flash
I down load the file to my pc first
Very easy.

Ok, yes, I know where the upgrade tab is in the gui, but do I just use the tar.gz file to perform the upgrade?  Maybe the file was corrupted when I downloaded it so it wasn't working.  I'll have to try again when I get home tonight.
Yes just download it from the website with a browser. Tar.gz is the file it uses. Confused me at first too back in the day.
I have a laptop running at the datacenter that I download it to.
Then I can flash them all from the same file.
I use teamviewer to remote control the laptop, very slick product, free for personal use.

I have used TeamViewer since my USB miner days, seeing that I would have to do a hard reboot of my computer everyday and it works slick. I also use it while on vacation so I can check on web cam at home to make sure it's all good.

Thanks for all the replys that i have.

I read here that there was a problem with the internet going down.
I think that was the problem yesterday...

Since 8.00 AM from today, the miner is working as a bad ass with no worries at all.
I did not see wha was the firmware version, but i'll pass my eye on it.

It was posted that if the internet goes down it could over heat the miner due to the fans dropping down and the miner still hashing away. After reading that I now have a Delta fane about 3 inches in front of the intake fan blowing air into it as my internet provider is crap.
127  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 28, 2015, 06:10:40 PM
OK, another stupid question from someone who is getting his S7 delivered tomorrow.  Since I will be using separate power supplies for the hash boards, is there any concern about overheating while turning them on one at a time with the control board psu being the last one to turn on?

I'm just curious since the worry about 'internet connection' issues and fans not cooling, when they're initially powered up is that any concern?

I am powering my S7 with 1-RM1000 and a RM850. I just left both PSU turned off, plugged all cables in and Ethernet cable then turned on the 850 first as it was just powering 1 hash board then turned on the 1000 as it's powering the other 2 boards and the controller. At first it looked to be about a 1TH short of hash so I did a soft reboot and it came right up to speed of 4.8+
128  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 28, 2015, 05:16:38 PM
Question for S7 -
Bitmain says all three PCIe connectors on each board must be attached.  Does anyone know if miner will work with one open on a board?  In other words is this a hard and fast rule or is this for ideal performance?

I don't think anyone would want to risk trying that since we're talking about a $1600 piece of hardware.

If you lower the freq you could most likely get away with less PCI's plugged in. (Just not sure how low you would need to go)
129  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 28, 2015, 03:28:17 PM
Hello to you all.
Received my ANT7 Batch 1 yesterday.
Also received the PSU from Bitmain.

Yesterday i pluged everything, configured and "voilá"... it was mining...

Everything OK by 2 hours... after that the unit started to beep.. i needed to poert it off.
Connected again... and once again it was mining.

After 2 hours the some problem... the mining decrese to almost 0, the unit started gain to beeb.
Power off and power down again
The unit beeps again and again... works for 3 to 4 minuts until it stops mining

From 21PM yesterday the unit is producing ZERO... its beeping almost shure (i'm in home, and the unit in in my office).
The ANT7 is connected to a swhitch and then the switch is connected to a router.

Im a newbie, and i thought this was power on and let go... i see its more complicated for a 2500€ machine. Angry
Is there any troubleshotting guide?
Help is needed.

Did you configure your pool information on the miner? As it will mine but to Bitmain account. If you did I think I would check the miner status page and watch your temps see what they are. Then if that looks good I would try and use a volt meter and check your voltage from the PSU under load. Watch it the whole 3-4 mins and see if the voltage drops off as the miner drops off.

I would like to see a screen shot of the miners status page.

Say we had a 200 AMP Main Service Panel and every circuit was 240V circuits by using 2 pole breakers...  If every circuit was used at it's max [Not recommended if circuits are inside walls and/or conduit], you could have 10 x 20 amp / 240 Volt circuits for a total of 48,000 watts of power.

If we used 10 x 20 amp / 120 Volt circuits in a 200 amp Main Service Panel and maxed out each circuit to its full 20 amps each [Not recommended if circuits are inside walls and/or conduit], you would only have 24,000 watts available in power.

So, both Main Service Panels were rated for 200 Amps maximum.  However, we can utilize the power much better with 240 Volts instead of 120 Volts.  Does this make sense now?

notlist3d, is right...

It sounds like you need an electrician.  Trust me on what I'm saying about available watts regarding 240 Volt verses 120 Volt.  Your Main Service Panel is rated in Amps and Volts.  It's limited for 120V/240V [Either can be used] and it is more than likely limited to 200 amps REGARDLESS of what voltage (120V or 240V) for your circuits in the home.

dmwardjr your right and and it all comes down to simple math. There is no magic created by using 240v vs 120v other than the use of smaller wires and a slight better efficiency and cost .

I've given up - Antpool and even Slush - better to move around on alts targeting low difficulty IMO

I gave up on slush a while back...but antpool has had some good luck last 24hours. 112%

Edit: just switched pools to dFish to see what I get with the PPS payout.

I think dfish charges a 4% fee but don't hold me to it. Antpool's is 2.5% PPS

Good point. I was kind of wondering about how my hash rate on both pools  compare.

And thank you Bitmain!  Ordered 10-16, Batch 3, shipping today via UPS, I should have it on Thursday.  Only 1 unit, but I've been hurting after selling some S5's to pay for it.

Although it's good to see that bitmain are finally getting their shipping act together, it's very frustrating/annoying that they are shipping B3 orders while many B2 orders remain neglected, mine included.

@ BitmainWarranty/BITMAIN_YHQIN:

What is the reasoning behind this?

What compensation will you be providing to delayed B2 customers?

Why is B3 taking president over B2?

I am thinking the new miners are doing better than the batch 1 were and they are not getting enough 4.6 miners to fill the B2 orders. You may very well end up with a miner that does 4.8+ which will still be a bargain for the price if the wait is not to much longer.

Was there no payout today?

Mine came at 5:16 am EST

Great luck in the last hour ...block found in 5 seconds and just found 2 more in less than 2 mins apart

Edit: and now a 3rd one, so 4 block in about 1 hour ..that should help!

I am disappointed with the lack of respect shown to me in this case.

Really? Bitmain has generally shown a lack of respect to everyone. Why would you expect your experience to be different?

THIS...

Why do I expect respect from bitmaintech?

I guess I just a naive person.

But I did some nice legwork for free on the s-7 because they were good to me on the s-5.

They sent a free s-5 to me for review. So when my s-7's came from batch one I did a free thread to help show how quiet the s-7 can be made.

I also did a fix it thread showing how to fix the under hashing via soft reboot.

This was to be helpful to miners and to bitmaintech.
This was being respectful to both Miners and bitmaintech.

In turn for me respecting them and being honorable to them they have not done the same to me.

Such is life I will check my account and maybe I have a shipment.

No info on shipping oh well.

Now that is why "no good deed goes unpunished" and I know all about that!

Anyone get any of their generous 'Compensation' yet?

Nope not yet. Roll Eyes

It appears that my Sep 29 B3 order has been shipped per UPS 😀
Very good to hear this, anyone else?
Philip you born in 1957? Me too.

Well then we have birth year and mining in common.

Still back to the thread.  My Batch 2 has yet to ship.

Same here.... grumpy old men.. Wink

Batch 3 is back up.

must not have stayed up long as its gray again

So has anyone said how the S7's sound related to the S5's?  I sold off 3 S5's to upgrade to a new B3 S7, and want to know what I should be looking forward to...

The S7 is louder than a S5 with the fans at stock speed but if you turn them down to 40% they are as quite or less than my S5
140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 21, 2015, 06:49:50 PM
Definitely go 220-240.

There are many pretend electricians around here and you will hear all sorts of things which may even make sense or sound true but it is someone you don't know who has an interpretation of the way things should be.
The only type of person to trust is someone who isn't afraid to backup what they claim with facts, pictures, and easily verifiable information. Items which can be verified through multiple sources.

We are talking about something which can burn down your house or business. When someone claims to have a training gig, or they know something because of something someone else taught them, bah, ask for a reference, but better yet, ask an electrician who actually has a license.

There are also electrician forums where those guys hang out and are happy to answer questions with references to back them up.
Be wary of someone who in an argument continues to claim they are right because they have previous experience in that area. To me, that is akin to claiming I am a fireman because I lived through a fire. Not quite the same is it?

I've obviously said things that have rubbed people in this forum [Like yourself] the wrong way.  I apologize to you and anyone else in this forum I have rubbed the wrong way.  As for advice on ANYTHING technical in these forums:  You, or anyone else, should be quite relieved not to hear anymore from me about anything "technical" from this day forward.  I leave that to you "professionals."

I apologized to dancer191 in PM's, deleted previous posts of mine to keep from trashing up this forum.

Everyone have a good day and may the blocks be with you!

dmwardjr I think your a class act and value your input on here.
