Hey guys, I have a few questions on two separate matters. Maybe these have been answered, but it's challenging to load every page of the forum on my remote rural connection, so you'll have to forgive me if these have already been covered.

1) What inroads have been made in China, and what legal challenges might we face? What kind of opportunities can DNotes provide the people? Will DNotes help provide a third alternative to government run or private pension plans (I know they are having a serious problem with embezzlement of employer/private pension plans)?

2) If a group decides to fork DNotes, let's say to create DNotes Cash (like Bitcoin Cash), and it gains popular support, will DNotesVault ever offer them services? If DNotes doesn't offer support for the forked currency will there be a way for DNotesVault users to claim their stake on the fork chain? It's not a matter of if this situation happens, it's when...

I'd like to know too.

Mercatox DNotes withdrawals still unavailable. It's now been more than 24 hours...

And... my wallet went off on another fork around midnight last night. I discovered it and reset it just now. So I lost 6 hours of staking rewards. The current number of coins staking is only around 25 million, though that is higher than what it was last night. So whatever the problem is seems to be a recurring one.

For Mercatox, they have not responded directly to me as of yet.

For your wallet, a couple of questions. Is it synced or out of sync (green check mark at the bottom of the application)? What version of DNotes are you using (click help > about DNotes)? Is the time on the PC correct? How many connections do you have to the network (the wifi looking symbol at the bottom)?

Right now my wallet appears to be running correctly. It is synced (with green check mark) and the block heights of my wallet and the explorer match. When my wallet is on its own trail, the green check mark will still show, but when I mouse over it, it will indicate a block height that is usually about 20 blocks behind what the explorer says, and that's how I know something isn't right.

I'm running version 2.0.2.1-g13c7a92 (that's what my wallet "about DNotes" says. The time on the PC is correct, and I haven't noticed it not being correct ever. I currently have 25 active connections to the DNotes network.

If the wallet "forks" again, I could send you that same information again if that helps.

And I don't want to bury Brandon's questions. They are good ones, especially the one about inroads into China. On the forking question, my personal opinion is that without a complete ecosystem to support it, any fork of DNotes won't go very far. The reason Bitcoin Cash happened was mainly because consensus on appropriately modifying Bitcoin core technology to keep up with the needs could not be reached so one group went off and forked Bitcoin cash in the hopes of addressing some of the issues. Since DNotes is taking leadership in keeping the coin up to date, there isn't a need for one group to fork it, plus that group would basically have to re-invent the wheel (all the surrounding infrastructure that makes DNotes what it is).

I've got two wallet issues to report which may or may not be related. The first is that Mercatox DNotes withdrawal is still unavailable, for what seems like a very long time.

The second is that my own wallet went off on some sort of fork and needed to be restarted and then re-opened twice today. The number of staking coins has been very low--right now less than 10% of the total DNotes supply is staking, so predicted and actual reward intervals are much smaller. I've had two occasions today (and one a few days ago) where my wallet appeared to be getting a reward on every block. That would make me suspicious so I'd check my wallet's block height against the explorer's and would find that my wallet was 20 blocks behind. So I'd close it, then restart it, then reopen it for staking and it would be up and running properly again.

So I'm wondering if there might be some issue creeping up with the wallet that is causing it to go out of sync. My current wallet is running on a very old laptop that's about to bite the dust. I'm looking to transfer it to a brand new (refurbished) system I just got, so I'll see if the condition of the computer has any bearing on this. It's possible that it's just my computer giving me fits, but then I'm noticing how long Mercatox's DNotes wallet is closed for withdrawals and now I'm wondering if they've detected an issue that they're trying to troubleshoot. Hopefully if that's the case they will reach out to the devs.

The low percent of coins shown to be staking could also be an indicator that a number of wallets may be off on their own little trails.

Anyway, just passing along the info and hope that any genuine wallet issues will be resolved promptly.

It appears the DNotes wallet on Mercatox is offline as of 2345 EST. Can anyone confirm this, I'm trying to do a transfer to my vault account.

Yep, I've got the same from my end. Withdrawal not currently active. Deposits seem to be fine. Most likely maintenance or update. I will check again tomorrow as well.

It's still down for me too. I'll put in a support request to get an ETA on when it will be back up.

...and their reply was just an appeal to be patient!
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - 4/2/2018 Now Live on: July 05, 2018, 08:19:50 PM

I'm finding Mercatox to be a rather enjoyable exchange to use. Not too cluttered, easy to navigate, not overly complicated. Processing seems to be fairly quick as well. What does everyone else think about them?

It's OK, though it has some glitches. Sometimes I get the impression I'm not seeing all the orders and they don't necessarily fill in a logical order. For the first time, today I have a DNotes withdrawal that has been stuck for hours. Support has been responsive, though haven't yet resolved the issue. I'm also waiting ten days now to get verified so I can withdraw more than 0.5 BTC every 24 hours.

Other than that, it's fine.

I dream of having DNotes listed on Bittrex, as I think that is my favorite exchange to work with.

Please update:

Q: When will I receive CRISP payments?

A: The next payouts are as follows:

May 1 - Ends first CRISP period.
May 8 - Payout starts. (Virtually no one will receive this payout)
June 2 - Ends second CRISP period
June 10 - Payout starts

Roughly.

Hi AlCamus,

We are currently at block 128,003
The CRISP period will end at block 129,600
Roughly 26 hours from now the CRISP period will end.

You can check the current block any time here:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/note/

AlCamus (and anyone else who would like to follow it), I worked up this very simple spreadsheet that lists the upcoming cutoff and payout blocks for the CRISP program. It doesn't tell you an ETA for when these blocks occur, but you can compare them to the current block and make a good estimate knowing that each block interval is roughly one minute long. I may add that functionality later if I get a minute Smiley

Kraken Issues Forceful Response to Bloomberg Report

https://dcebrief.com/kraken-issues-forceful-response-to-bloomberg-report/

I don't think Kraken has anything to worry about. They're an American exchange and doing things on the up and up with all their coins including Tether. My understanding is that most of the funny business was associated with Binance, which I believe also has a controlling interest in Tether. I still want to know exactly where the US Dollars to back up Tether are really coming from.

I tend to agree with you about Kraken.  As far as the Tether/Bitfinex controversy, I would just add a qualifier to your statement: "alleged" funny business. So far, we have people who have examined trading and raised questions about what they are seeing. And we have allegations of market manipulation. The reality, though, is that we don't know whether there is actual funny business, and won't until there is more transparency from Bitfinex and Tether. There have been arguments countering the wrongdoing claims, and those arguments may be accurate - if Tether can back up all its claims. For now, however, they're practically inviting allegations by refusing to be transparent. And we all know how the media can be once it senses blood in the water...

We're all fortunate that Alan's experience and business acumen have resulted in DNotes taking a different approach to its participation in the industry. Rather than being opaque and mysterious, DNotes is dedicated to being verifiable, transparent, and responsive to its stakeholder community. Alan's recent update on funding efforts are a great example of that, and once again demonstrate DNotes Global's total commitment to being a truly trusted, accessible, and inclusive digital currency solution for the world.

You're right: "alleged" funny business. There are actually two issues with the Tether/Bitfinex controversy. One is the alleged market manipulation as circumstantially evident by unusual trading patterns. The other issue is the question of the origin of the USD backing the tether. If it's all investor funds (as in investors traded their USD for tether, or indirectly by trading BTC for tether), then there is no issue on that front. However, there have been allegations of the source of funds coming from elsewhere, as is circumstantially evident by rather odd banking patterns. You're right. Bitfinex and Tether lead teams could easily clear all this up with a little transparency, but they've chosen to go the opaque and mysterious route.

I agree about Alan and DNotes. I LOVE the transparency and commitment to excellence at every step of the process. This past week has been exciting Smiley

I'll buy a DVC bag! Between spending on tokens and useless coins, I'll spend on something of history and value! Yes, DVC has value, an old coin and with history, moreover, it has 15 billion of supply, it's inflationary, but as some people argued above, turning 1024 DVC into 1 GDVC would not be bad! People complain about the lack of liquidity for the BTC, if DVC has the basics of the BTC, why could not this be one of the pleasant solutions?
The exchanges list BTC without charging fees, the same has to be for DVC!

DVC is a better investment than about 97% of the ICOs out there.

I am noticing a glitch with your bulk and API import functions. I tried a number of times to import an excel and csv file and the import indicators tell me that it was a successful import. Then when I go to dashboard, the trades recalculate (since I added new ones), but the import has no effect on the balance. In the case of this import, I added substantial amounts of DNotes to my wallet, and those additions are not registering. Then I can't find the transactions which should have imported into my account when I look for them on the "enter coins" tab.

I also have one other coin which through mining consistently produces more coins. The API appears to have imported yesterday and today's recent transactions, but they have no impact on the total amount of coins. It's the exact same both yesterday and today.

Bottom line is that right now the system tells me import was successful, but when I follow up on it, it turns out nothing actually was imported Something's buggy with your import system. Can you please fix it ASAP and let me know when you've done it? I have also put in a support request for this issue.

Thanks!

There's a glitch on CoinGecko. It's showing DNotes price of $0.120550, a 24 hr trading volume of $37,771, a low and high price, and a market cap of 0.

I will also chime in that it will make my life much easier once DNotes has accurate listings on both Coin Marketcap and World Coin Index. Those are the two indices whose APIs my coin tracking program uses, and they're both wrong, which means all my data pertaining to DNotes is also wrong. I'm also hoping that once those listings are updated and accurate, that they will work retroactively. The main thing I need to be able to do automatically is establish an accurate basis for all the DNotes that my wallet is minting as well as when the CRISP rewards come in. This will be very helpful for when I have to file tax returns at the beginning of next year. So, any and every effort the core team is putting in to getting these listings properly updated is greatly appreciated.

As long as DNotes Global is working on providing real services within the cryptocurrency industry that work consistently, I was wondering if any thought has been given to perhaps running our own coin index (like Coin Marketcap and Coin Gecko, etc.). And while we're at it, why not also try to develop a good coin tracking subscription service that can help people track all their transactions for tax purposes (as well as monitoring), similar to CoinTracking but with more flexible options (such as the ability to choose which index you'll use for each coin to assess its day to day price?

I know there's already a lot going on, so don't want to suggest these projects become the new priorities or anything, but it seems to me that adding them to the long term to do list would be in keeping with DNotes Global's overall vision.

Edit: I just noticed that CoinMarketcap's DNotes listing is finally current, though it only includes the Mercatox markets (BTC and ETH), but not the other four exchanges that support it, and it also includes Trade by Trade's data, which is not a real market, from what I understand. At least it's closer to the truth! It is reflecting on my CoinTracking data, though not retroactively.

Edit 2: I took a look at the historical data for DNotes on Coin Marketcap, and so far it's only showing data up until May 6, 2018. I assume today's the first day that the listing has been active, so it's not yet included in the historical data but will by this time tomorrow. Either way, there is a gap of no data from May 6 (effectively May 2 since the last four days of data were completely off) all the way to July 2. Since DNotes has been trading on Mercatox for some time, I'd like to see the CMC historical data at least grab the Mercatox data since DNotes' listing there--I'm sure that data is available. It would also help if the other legit markets could be included even if only for DNotes. I know there is a legitimate gap where no trading of any kind occurred for several weeks, so I'm hoping that will be the only gap we see once it's all said and done.

A tracking solution is something we have put a little effort into between high priority projects and the subject of discussion on occasion over the last few years.

By the way, the electrum wallet is much better at reporting and exporting data you may need, setting up a watch only wallet in electrum is likely a decent interim solution.

Also, some of your wish list have already been implemented:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dnotes/#charts

They should also be adding Stocks.Exchange market data. They are very responsive!

I am glad to hear that CMC is being very responsive, so this issue should be fixed soon. Look closely at the 3 month chart and mouse over between May 3rd and July 2nd, and you will get a dramatic visual representation of what I was telling you earlier about the gap in daily historical prices from May 3rd to July 2nd. What I am really hoping for is that as CMC fully updates our listing and includes the other markets, they will add historical prices in between those two dates, so that the only gap we see is the actual time during which no trading was happening.

I intend to try out the electrum wallet--a watch only wallet will be great especially once deferred staking is rolled out. However, I have no issue with the transaction data I'm getting from the qt wallet. It's just that once I import that data into my tracking program, it as yet does not provide accurate tax basis for May 3rd to July 1st because CMC currently does not have historical prices for that time period.

Recognizing the considerable exposure opportunity and their interest in DNotes and DNotes Global, we made the difficult decision to go ahead despite our already over full plates. They are very interested to feature DNotes along with other solid blockchain projects that deserve and need to be highlighted in our industry. It is very clear they have a deeply rooted interest in the industry and wish to make everyone aware of the amazing things that are happening in blockchain.

We are currently in the process of working with their team and filming the interview segments. As soon as we have more information to share, we will let everyone know.

I agree it was a good decision to go for it. I think it will give DNotes and DNotes Global the type of exposure beyond the current group of people involved in cryptocurrencies, and that will help pave the way for mass adoption worldwide.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - 4/2/2018 Now Live on: July 01, 2018, 05:08:58 AM
I see that sharing my experiences with Mercatox has generated some discussion. I just want to clarify that what I experienced (good and bad) is real, but I don't feel I have enough information to make any kind of accusations. I saw what seemed to me to be strange trading patterns and I certainly wasn't used to them. But I don't know the reason so don't want to assume.

I am looking to switch all my webhosting needs from the rather large hosting company I've been using for years to a smaller local business owned by a good friend mainly because I've come to value the personal touch and I also have been experiencing weird technical glitches in the service provided by this company that was negatively impacting me (and the technical support people didn't seem willing or able to try to actually solve these problems). Anyway, so as I was talking to my friend about the issues, he said that it's very likely that the "under the hood" stuff just isn't built optimally, maybe kind of cobbled together a bit as the company scaled up and that sort of thing can lead to all kinds of interesting glitches. Pretty much what Joe (DNotes) said in response to me sharing my unexpected Mercatox experiences and insinuating that maybe there was something not on the up and up.

Well it turns out that with computer stuff apparently this happens a lot. As a non-coder and non-programmer, I tend to think of any service involving a computer as something mathematical, that if it works a certain way in one situation, it should work that way consistently across the board, and that it should work regardless of the scale. It turns out in reality that's simply not true. Depending on how you set up your web-based platform, scaling can be very easy or it could be a literal nightmare. I've seen scaling issues pretty much everywhere I've looked in the block chain world. I sometimes write on Steemit, and it has a number of apps built on top of it. I've used a few of them and they're glitchy. They don't always work and there doesn't seem to be an explanation for why they don't always work. Ask anyone who's tried to run a token on another coin's block chain, and there are often issues that need to be troubleshooted. Maybe this is common with a new industry and the technology will improve over time. DNotes Global will certainly do their part to raise the bar on how the technology works. Currently there is a lot of room for improvement.

With Mercatox, I have never had an issue with withdrawing my funds (other than the 0.5 BTC daily limit which is currently a pain in, well you know where). I feel like I've more or less adapted to the unique quirks of the DNotes/BTC market on Mercatox. I basically have to be willing to pay more than the highest bid for my coins as there really aren't a whole lot for sale at any given time, and I'm also dealing with a rapidly increasing price (which in the long run is absolutely wonderful, just makes buying tougher now). So, regardless of the reasons for the weirdness I observed, I believe I have adapted and am still successfully buying DNotes on Mercatox and hope to be finished with that soon.

I just wanted to post my thoughts as I really don't intend to start any sort of anti-Mercatox movement. I think scaling issues is the most likely explanation for what I've noticed.  And I think the efforts of DNotes Global to run an exchange that doesn't have those issues will be a huge step forward for everyone.

Hi guys! Have you heard of Paytomat? Everyone is talking about it now. Paytomat is a Decentralized System for Cryptocurrency Payments. It's unbelievable thing brings cryptocurrency usage for everyday life... And they just started a beta-version of their own e-wallet! Sounds great, yeah? You should try it! But firstly it’s necessary to send a request on their email: ios@paytomat.com

I saw your message on two of my threads today. I really hope you're not spamming the forum with your advertisement. It reflects badly on the product.

Mercatox is shady. No bad experiences with them myself as I have avoided them based on the experiences of others but mercatox has a long history of shady practices that are well documented especially when the price of XRB (now Nano) climbed exponentially in December. People had their coins locked up for months on there. I would not be surprised at all if what you are noticing is very real. I would also advise not using mercatox moving forward.

I'm bummed to hear that. I really hope that it can all be explained by scaling up and other technical issues, but I hear you. I'll keep watching as long as I'm trading there. It still has the best volume for BTC/NOTE. However, I have found that with patience I can buy DNotes a lot cheaper on Stocks.exchange. I'm trading on both.

My verification on Mercatox is pending so I can only withdraw 0.5 BTC every 24 hours, but other than that, I have had no issue with withdrawing either BTC or NOTE. Right now BTC wallet is in maintenance.

What’s really exciting is that, IMO, most of the Dnotes float is being held tightly by serious investors and will more than likely stay that way until market buys reflect what Dnotes is truly worth.  If I’m correct, we could see a major upswing in the worth of Dnotes relatively soon.  With almost 100 mil coins in the Vault, 20 million held by Dnotes Global and most likely a bunch of coins tucked away in personal wallets, leaves maybe 20 million on exchanges.  If deep pocket investors want to buy Dnotes, which I’m sure they will, they will have to up the buy price quite a bit from current levels to get them.  It’s really been quite a ride owning Dnotes for the past couple years, and it is just getting started!

Since DNotes introduced proof of stake and CRISP earnings about three months ago, there's another DNotes investment model to consider: DNotes holders hang onto their "principal" DNotes and only sell the earnings from staking and CRISP. And it would be those "interest earnings" that the deep pocketed investors are all competing for.

And this isn't even taking into account the solid future plans of an entire ecosystem where DNotes can be spent to buy real products and wouldn't even have to be exchanged into fiat first.

So I had another Mercatox moment today. A few hours ago I placed a limit buy order of 25,000 DNotes for 620 Satoshi. At the time there was a standing sell order of 400 DNotes for 620 Satoshi. So as soon as I placed the order I immediately bought 400 DNotes and that eliminated all sell orders for 620. Not too long after that, A sell of 25,084.1 DNotes at 620 Satoshi executed. But not one bit of my standing limit order at that price was filled. It still sits on the order book at 24,600 DNotes for 620 Satoshi and it might never fill because the price has been going nowhere but up all day. Since placing that order triggered the standing sell order to fill, I would think that meant my order was first in line. But instead, some other order filled first, and mine still sits there waiting.

How is this explained by technical difficulties?

I see no other orders for 620 Satoshi and haven't for hours. As far as I know, my order is the only one, and if there were invisible orders, mine had to be first. And yet, it wasn't the first to fill when someone else sold more than the amount I'd ordered at that price.

I feel like I'm playing by a set of rules I do not understand. Is anyone else trading on Mercatox? Could you share some insight?

Depends how orders are filled. If you don't specify in which order orders are filled, they could fill in any order or default to newest to oldest. However I'm not arguing your issues are technical, the only ones who would truly know is mercatox. I do not see how an exchange would benefit from doing this intentionally either. I am just offering an alternative explanation that may not be so nefarious.

I would recommend opening a support ticket to explain your experiences. This link seems to be working.

Thanks for the insight, and I'm really not trying to be a party pooper. Just observed some strange (to me) exchange behavior, and I will choose to take the view that these are unintentional technical things. I hear what you were saying earlier about it taking a lot "under the hood" to make an exchange truly work properly especially when lots of people are using it at the same time. I'm really looking forward to the DNotes Global exchange Smiley

There was a very brief flash crash before the price just went up by another 100 Satoshi, so in the end I got those orders filled and I'm already in profit.

Thanks for the link to support--it works. I will open up a ticket if I have any more trouble.

ANOTHER large order at 620 Satoshis just executed and my limit order was again untouched!

This is crazy!

What is Mercatox up to?

EDIT: I cleared my history and 7900 of my order filled. So maybe all the imaginary buyers ahead of me have their orders filled and it's really my turn now?

I would contact support except that the support page won't load. I'm going to later try a different browser and see if maybe it's just not working as well as it should with chrome.

These are just new problems for me and it's not like I'm a novice trader!
