KNC refunders... beware of new , intense "Know Your Customer" (KYC) verification on Bitstamp for Americans...
After enduring KNC's slow refunding process, I encountered a week of dialogue at Bitstamp... and eventual approval a day ago, but the funds have yet to be credited to my account. Might look for another exchange....

*Two others I know had the same issue
I wonder if it has anything to do with FACTA/ H.R. 2847 coming up in July?
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE on: April 10, 2014, 01:47:44 AM
Dogecoin will be huge!
Just look at this growing community with lots of new ideas.
Now its not good time for all cryptos, but some day Doge will explode.
Dogecoin cannot survive without a strong network.  And if Doge does not either move to a merge-mined model, or adopt a new algorithm, the network will get attacked into non-existence with upcoming scrypt ASIC equipment.

Litecoin holds the crown for scrypt - that's obvious by both market cap and network hashrate.  Unless the dogecoin community honestly thinks it can surpass Litecoin's hashrate and marketcap this year, or doge moves to being merge-mined, it will die.

I have a feeling the Dogecoin dev's are going to learn a lesson with the upcoming block halving.  If we don't see a merge-mined doge soon, it will be a huge waste to watch the dogecoin network and community die this year.

Doge wont become mainstream, forget bout dat. Theres no reason to be.
Doge has attracted some "mainstream" people who knew nothing about Bitcoin.
"Mainstream people" doesn't make sense - how can a person be a common thought of a majority?  That makes absolutely no sense.

And, who cares?  Some small-time low market-cap adoption isn't going to help anything.
merged mining is the way to go in order to stay relevant and more powerful against network attacks, especially since Litecoin has about 2 or 3 times the hashing power dogecoin does.

1 vote for merge mining here. It was good for namecoin, so shall it be for dogecoin
130  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S1 Issues on: April 10, 2014, 12:40:22 AM
Hey quick question. I have an AntMiner S1 and its not letting me access it via the address on the sticker. I just got it from a friend that was having some issues with it and trying to help them out. I have reviewed over the troubleshooting techniques and nothing has worked. I have pressed the little black button for 3 seconds, nothing. i tried it for 5 and still nothing. i tried the paper clip and still didn't work.

I have uploaded a small video of what lights are flashing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzPJt_gczQc

Thank you for the help.

demon, sometimes after a reset, I have to kill the power and then power it back on then it will reset to one of the default IPs.
I usually open a command prompt, ping -t 192.168.1.99 (or 2.99 on older ants), then hit the reset button, some units pop right back up after a reset and start replying to ping request, others don't, so I power off/on, and presto PING REPLY.
131  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: EMPBitcoin 2TH/s Miner - Escrow Only [No Preorder] on: April 10, 2014, 12:29:54 AM
Confirmed SCAM?? I think so
.... no? They've said:

1) No preorders. None.
2) Escrow.com transactions ONLY, the most respected escrow agent in the world.
3) They'll confirm hardware when its ready.

How is that a confirmed scam?

We have sold over 525 units via escrow service 4/9/2014. Some of the clients are from bitcointalk and will review/feedback our machine soon.
Currently we are closing all buying options until we receive more stock and open our LA office to public.

Cheers

Don't worry about others. Its all scam to them. Escrow service with guarantee product and quality service is what people looking for. They jump into conclusion without investing. If it was direct sale/preorder then i would say scam too but 98% of the bitcointalk users are computer geeks/students that are broke. They want to make money from 0 investment.
Anyways, i will update once we have new stock again.
OK, let us know when you LA OFFICE is open, and will go there no matter where in LA COUNTY you are...PALMDALE, POMONA, LONG BEACH, MABLIBU, SANTA CLARITA, SANTA FE SPRINGS or anywhere in between, I will go check it out, just let us know when and where!!

thanks. sbfree

sacko, can u give a reason why you think that? Maybe i am seeing this wrong?
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE on: April 09, 2014, 08:37:17 AM
Should Dogecoin Merge Mine with Litecoin, AND have to be the one that Hard Forks??

I say we should. I think this will only take dogecoin to the next level of exposure. For example:

When the pool I mined btc on commenced merge mining of btc and namecoin, I mentioned that this was great for namecoin as it would give it a large base of exposure and use and ultimately value. And sure enough more user, exposure and value, at one point it had gone from .30 cents to $8 dollars. I think the benefit to dogecoin would be great that what it was for namecoin.

1 vote for merge mining.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 09, 2014, 05:01:56 AM
But that's not any fun.  Now is it?

Trust me. More BTC = More Fun.
actually making roi btc then reselling the hardware for the same you paid or more is actually the greatest Grin

and I play with KNC hardware to keep it on topic....geez.

Just Checked my order history with KNC, and it is now officially changed to 3TH Jupiter instead of Neptunes. It is happening.
Yes its really happening you can now buy a 3 TH Jupiter for what you would get 4TH from most anyone else.
Antminer, Cointerra etc and all you had to do was wait for KNC to fall on their faces and/or buy too many Jupiter modules to fit in their data center.
You are buying their crumbs.
Joe, it is what it is. I have done well with KNC, and all this for me is really added bonuses, especially since I didn't consider the overclocking that padrino mentioned.

You are getting 18 Jupiter Modules (166gh each) are they new Modules? If so how much more do you expect to overclock out of them?
2nd batch (November) were the same chips no? So isn't 166gh per chip the top end already?
I could be wrong but you may want to double check your math.

Extrapolating from my November Jupiter, which uses 820W at wall using Platinum PSU to provide 760GH/s (190GH/s per board overclocked to 1000MHz) - so 18 boards = 3420GH/s @ 3690W.
Personally I would go with 4 x 1000W PSUs, but 3 x 1250W should be possible if you like running close to the wind.  Smiley

thanks for that, so they shall actually be 3.4TH Jupiters (AKA FrankenJup) @4000W

LOL you just paid for NRE costs on their 20nm product while giving you a product with NRE already paid for close to 10k. You just got ripped.
FUKT, I have stopped putting up cash for hardware for what seems like a long time ago and have done well, so whatever comes out of this from KNC is really an added bonus for me. I have plenty of hardware present and on the way and it is all paid for with an initial cash investment made last year under $20k, it has been an incredible ride.

Avenger, before you go, re-edit the picture please.  Make it Frankenjup, lose the 'iter', sounds better without extra syllable. thx Cheesy Grin Shocked

I meant the 3Th Jup's are bonuses, at least for me, even if they aren't overclockable. And it was padrino's math, I'm too lazy to do it myself.
