122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ANT • Antimatter • POOL WORKING : NODES ADDED : ANT ALIVE on: February 24, 2014, 04:20:13 PM
It sounds as though it could be a really good coin!

Alrighty, I gotta ask, people posting that this looks like a good coin are looking where?

I am not seeing it any more.

1 or 2 posts a day on the thread.
Small network hash.
No exchange.
And then there the content of the posts on this thread explaining the issues this coin had for weeks.

Weeks...... most coins have an issue and are fixed within a day or so. It took weeks for this coins issues to be solved. Weeks without a pool. Weeks.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TiPS ★ Kimotos Gravity Well ★ World first coin anonymizer launched! on: February 24, 2014, 07:01:02 AM
I just checked a few exchanges, and nope... TIPS is still shitcoin.

Based on what exactly? Having more features than many of the coins on the market? Ya guess you are right. 400 clones and the 1 that has differences is the shit coin....hahahaha

+1  How much is the most anonymous and fast international value transfer technology in the world worth? The answer to that my friends is potentially more than all other value transfer technologies in the world combined.

+2 and don't forget the payment platform nearing completion, it's a new kind of platform, will make TIPS super usable for purchasing,  but hey who wants that in a crypto currency Tongue

Also, are there any game devs lurking around that want to make some TIPS games?
And, does anyone feel like making a gift card template, will help me spread TIPS in the mainstream, my designs seem to always end up looking Windows 95 Tongue
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we STOP Cryptsy on: February 23, 2014, 07:51:59 PM
Oh do not get me wrong. When the boom hit they got flooded and weren't ready, they could not have forseen that. I have still had issues since the new hardware. Not so much on the trading side, since I agree it is way better and faster than it was before, WAY. But I am still having problems.

What happened on this thread is I put and angry sounding title and started off with more anger in the text then was required. I could have gone about this better.

Fact remains many things have exponentially improved, but there are still plenty of issues, and their support times are at best terrible.

Current support times for a deposit ticket during the week is less than 24 hours.

- We have 23 Support agents and we are still hiring more our ticket goal is under one hour.

If your support issue is something out of the ordinary it gets escalated which can add some time usually 72 hours.

What happened on this thread is I put and angry sounding title and started off with more anger in the text then was required. I could have gone about this better.

Change the title its never to late Smiley click edit haha

Title changed Smiley

And thanks John for the added information, I must say though this 24 hours wait time thing must be new, very new Tongue

The team is always available on IRC, not sure if many of them check the thread but I try to keep up with it as much as I can Smiley
But I've been away for the past few days so I haven't been that active here, I'll have to catch up with what's going on.

it's good you're here invisible, we need to sort out some stuff as soon as possible, and there is a good load of stuff you need to catch up with from the last few weeks i guess Grin

most importantly, in the recent weeks the community was very active and there is a lot of potential and skills in the group, like Fayens design skills and jtbcoins marketing expertise and lots of ideas and motivated people to support the coin. we need to find a way to harness that and not let this good energy go to waste, and for that we need to collaborate well with the devs and set some structured way of work to channel the ideas and get projects done, one after the other, like a mad projects machine!!

right now the communication with devs is very bad, and that's why after lots of discussion and developments on this thread somebody had to catch up with the devs on IRC to see what they think, and they didn't welcome the new ideas very much and a compromise was made to keep FedoraCoin while focussing on TiPS for the marketing. but it was not discussed here, only briefly on IRC. and I think the logo of Fayens was not agreed upon or disagreed, we don't know what logo we should take, and there is an article that has been ready and waiting to be sent to interested news sites but we still got no green light or discussion with devs though people here agreed on it.

so I think first, these few things must be discussed and get over with as soon as possible, so that proper marketing with the correct image of the coin can get started. and then we need to set a solid way to get some good synergy flowing, while devs work on new things, let the community support the coin, stay in tune with the devs, let ideas flow between the two and they must work together and communicate all the time. that's what I think is needed.

jtbcoins suggested a good methodology to go about marketing, and I think lots of us would vote for him to be a coordinator of that if he wants. I would also suggest getting a similar structure for bringing new ideas of projects e.g. if there are ideas about features that could be implemented or new markets to penetrate then the ideas can be posted on the main TiPS/FedoraCoin forum in a think tank section, the ideas get refined and when something good comes out they are moved to a next level section to be discussed by devs for example if it's a feature how to implement it, or if it's marketing then to coordinate etc. and this thread here can be for getting the word out and all other stuff. we could discuss such a structure of work here so we can have organized creativity Cheesy.

I think TiPS can be a very successful cryptocurrency and it has what is needed, so let's get it there!!

As far as I have seen this is THE BEST explanation of the world of Fedoracoin TIPs as it currently stands.

If I am correct Invis will be back in full on Tuesday, so we may have to be patient until then, but as is stated above IRC can be a good way to make baby steps until then, with the other Devs.

Also is there a specific signature that everyone is using?
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we STOP Cryptsy on: February 23, 2014, 07:17:20 PM
Oh look another cryptsy hate thread.

Just don't trade there if you hate it. Simple logic

Exactly, it's a shame logic isn't great here, you'd think it would be considering cryptography is logic based.

K.

It's really simple to stop using Cryptsy.

1) Let go of the keyboard

2) Back away slowly

3) Don't come back.

~BCX~

For those of you that have had no issues with Cryptsy and all that then all the power to you.

As for not using it, for the most part I do not any more, take your stupid comments about logic and keep them to yourself.

If you want to talk logic.

You people clicked on a thread about stopping Cryptsy to hate on the thread.
So here are some steps folks.

1. See a thread you have nothing to contribute to.
2. Don't click the thread
3. Don't click the thread
4. Don't click the thread

WoW funny how logic works both ways isn't it...... morons
You're new here, you can tell, creating a thread in the first place because you're a total dick with bad investments doesn't mean you gotta hate on cryptsy.

Making a forum thread to unite the knights of the realm against the exchange is rather more moronic than using common sense to not use something you don't like.

Make sure you pick up your fedora when you leave.
[/quote]

Are you guys for real?
As for investments lets just say I walk away with a smile on my face every day Smiley
As for time, has been going on now for about 4 months, give or take, being a Full Member does not make you a seasoned vet.

It was stated earlier from someone else that we must demand better of our exchanges and this is exactly what I mean. I can honestly say I have had many, many trades on Cryptsy that have worked, usually my problems happen in chunks, the fact is as an exchange you are dealing with people money. For this reason, large amounts of missing deposits and screwed up transfers is unnacceptable.

You feel I should just not use it and keep the thread to myself? Think of it this way, I stop using it and 1 person stops using it. I make a thread, a couple people see my thread look into it and decide against using Cryptsy, now more than 1 person will be using a different exchange.

I could go the other way on you you know that right?

I had problems with them and feel they shouldn't have such problems, I am a hater (sorry let me quote "total dick").
You feel that even with the problems they have we should keep our mouths closed, you are a fanboy?

AND

With all that is happening with Bitcoin because GOX the big exchange had unresolved issues and never dealt with them properly, I cannot believe any person can be angry for the things I am trying to get across.

do we actually have any devs here on the forum other than Invisible?
we've been discussing fiercely for 2 weeks and got the cryptocoinnews article ready and everybody is ready to go out and spread the word, yet we have to get the green light from devs who we never hear from. this is kinda getting me demotivated and disappointed, and i'm not the only one.

Invisible has been busy recently, but what about the other devs, why don't we hear a word from them? why can't they discuss this stuff with us or give us their opinion and let us start our work finally? if they want to wait with marketing then they should let us know, if they don't give a shit about TiPS getting a wide audience or about a passionate community supporting the coin, then they should also let us know so that we can find another project. we've been the first currency with working mixing service for some time now, but no body knows about it outside this thread. guess why..

That's kinda the same what I was thinking. So many contributions from talented and motivated people. Tips could really fly, yes, they're gaining value, but they could really get big, if we would promote them more. But instead, it kinda feels like we would been hold back. So I agree with id10tothe9, the devs need be more often around here, and get things done. Decide. Give the green light. For me, this signifies a bit of poor leadership. I like this coin, but that's also demotivating me.

The team is always available on IRC, not sure if many of them check the thread but I try to keep up with it as much as I can Smiley

By the way, I'm offering a 5 million TiPS bounty to whoever can design the best thread starter OP (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=391192) since IMO we need to make it look a bit more professional.
Just post it up as a regular reply here. Bounty ends when I get back (monday/tuesday), whoever gets the most votes from people here wins!

If you have any suggestion, link, dice game, fedoracoin community link, block explorer, fondation... please replay to me with link of all info you have! Thank you.

EDIT: I put my logo for test thats all!
Whoa that looks great, the logo is very nice too. Pending other entries (has there been any other entries? I haven't seen any) I think you're the clear winner Smiley

Other logo entries - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421662.0
Plus there are 3 or 4 going back a few pages in the thread here.

I didn't see the link to this poll posted on this thread. And I don't think the other either because there are only 43 voters.

Plus I thought we finally came to an agreement here choosing Fayens logo ?

Invisibel had asked if there were any other entries. I was just reminding him that all of those existed.

And I agree 43 votes is not much but as for Fayens logo is there a number as to who agrees or is it all just what has been posted on this thread? Because if there is no number then how can we know if more people like it then the others.

Also, having people in this thread say I like the logo is  great and all, but at the end of the day if they do not know the other options then how can they make a choice which is better?

Until a vote takes place I don't see how you can go forward with Fayens logo, or any other logo for that matter. Unless Invisibel goes authoritative and makes the choice on his own, and even then I doubt that choice will be based on just seeing a single logo.

Not knocking the logo, I have said before it is a beautiful logo that i'm sure took plenty of time, I am not a fan of the colors chosen for the coin but it is still a fine design, but side by side who knows which will be the favored design.

And hey if there was a vote and I missed it then *Insert foot in mouth here* my bad folk, just my two TIPS as always.

Also, I don't mean to come across rude here Fargusson, just trying to figure things out as well.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZEU - ZeusCoin - New PoW coin with random blocks | No Premine on: February 23, 2014, 05:23:38 PM
Yeah I can only imagine how big CENT would have been if it were not for that unfortunate staking bug.  There is still trillions of them, and huge xpm walls between each price change. However with that said it was amazing to see how much xpm was being used to push cent its quite remarkable.

Watching many of the coins at certain times is amazing. It can look like shits about to crash to the ground and then BOOM, money from everywhere pours in.
The trick now is seeing the cryptoworld for what it is. A stock trading game. Sure a few coins will eventually come up from the dust but essentially right now the game is buy whats cheap, sell when the inevitable pump comes. Buy again if you trust the coin when it drops back down.

To be honest as I write this I am wondering why I have not bought mass amounts of zues at these prices. I think i begin in this thread scared for the coin and I have, with your help, almost convinced myself to get buying Tongue

EDIT: I put my logo for test thats all!
Whoa that looks great, the logo is very nice too. Pending other entries (has there been any other entries? I haven't seen any) I think you're the clear winner Smiley

What happened to all the entries from the other logo contests exactly?
You had them posted on the other thread and there are a bunch on the old community thread.

And here I was worried the people in the thread were throwing out the old ideas and the Dev is too, what is happening, looks like a big F U to those who put in work when the coin was young.

Love all the development updates though Smiley

Our next step is to attract more miners (imo).  When difficulty is up it becomes harder to mine, and usually follows to a price increase.. .I hope at least!

There will be lots of selling at low prices i am sure due to 5 months of mining with no exchange!

Price is quite low right now so i reccomend buying some up if you can! Tongue

Low based on what?

This coin sat here with little to no activity, no website, no exchange for 5 months during the massive influx of scrypt miners and crypto currency awareness. If the price does ever go higher then where it is now it is going to take a lot more then being on an exchange and a new website.

To be honest I was one of the first person on the exchange trying to get rid of my coins. I mean jeeze look at that first ticker on the chart.
Looks like it started high at 900 but really it took 250 coins for the price to drop from that 900 to 3. lol

Well by low i am saying that at the prices it was trading at 3 satoshi you mentioned, the whole coin supply if fully mined (which it is not) would be sold at close to 10 btc, almost 20x lower than anything on coinmarketcap which in all honesty is quite low no matter what the coin has or does not have.

If i can say anything about crypto is you never know what will happen, so in terms of risk vs reward its quite high if you were to get a substansial amount of the coins if the price.. even doubles which to be frank would not be hard yet almost inevitible

Very true.
Anything could happen at any time and ya in terms of market cap I will give you this coin as a good investment.
Myself, I am almost seeing it like CENT, which is a bad way to see it anyway. I do hope the coin grows for the bit that I do have and for the rest of you that have put in the time and effort.

Mine on.

Oh look another cryptsy hate thread.

Just don't trade there if you hate it. Simple logic

Exactly, it's a shame logic isn't great here, you'd think it would be considering cryptography is logic based.

WoW funny how logic works both ways isn't it...... morons

And I don't get why people think a massive dump is ok when a coin hasn't been on the exchange.

How people look at it.

Many people have large amounts so they will sell for lower.
Ummmm.....

This doesn't make any sense.

With this logic making 1 BTC in 1 day is the same as making 1 BTC in 3 months :S

No Website
Instamined
Terrible spelling/grammar/wording
No real sign they have ANY plans
No Source code

Why do these people do this stupid shit. The worst part is people are actually mining it.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ANT • Antimatter • POOL WORKING : NODES ADDED : ANT ALIVE on: February 23, 2014, 03:23:50 PM
Confirmation is very slow -> mined for half a day.. no coins confirmed yet

It's alright, I was skeptical at 1st, but my coins have been confirmed. I'm surprised that more people haven't jumped on board yet.
Whoever is in charge of antimatter, do yourself a favour and promote the coin more! Your facebook page is bare!

From what I can tell this coin needs more than some promotions to get back in the game.

1. Bad launch.
2. Incorrect rewards to pools for WEEKS.
3. 1000 coins per block for the first 20 blocks.
4. Listed on an exchange and then removed. Yes thats correct, Ant has already been listed and delisted.
5. Minimal thread activity.

To be honest I was hoping this coin would go somewhere but I am doubting it now. I mean, thinking about it, has all the red flags of a scam really.

Ah well maybe I am wrong, but that steadily garbage network hashrate tells the story by itself. Hell, at the moment when a miner with 3 or more Mhash leaves the network the block time triples.

The thread literally states Zero reason for Worldcoin to go up in value at all.

LMFAO
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we STOP Cryptsy on: February 23, 2014, 02:57:33 PM
cryptsy has shit support and lots of bugs, also probably quite corrupt ie listing coins they mine and buy cheap before better coins.

HOWEVER

I still trust them above all the other alt exchanges. We need them to improve not take them down. When they work, they work great.

I do like coinedup now they are faster, and coinmarket.io too.

But cryptsy is big and we know who is behind it that counts for a lot. They like to make money , but i don't think they would actually steal your actually coins you deposit.

Cryptsy makes a big bucks now and needs to hire some more support guys.

I see your point, more support staff would definitely be a must, and your correct, when Cryptsy works it works well. It is the getting it at a time its working that seems to be my issue.
The fact that it takes days, and I've waited up to a week, just to be acknowledged for a ticket for lost coins is what most bugs me. This tells me either ....

1. They are totally understaffed at the best of times.
2. Many many many many others are having the same problems as I am, otherwise support staff would be available.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptsy Discussion - We should only let them be #1 if they can provide. on: February 23, 2014, 02:44:00 PM
So this is just me here but they need to be stopped.

Issue 1. They have bugs with the coins they have.
Issue 2. They keep adding more coins.
Issue 3. People still use them.
Issue 4. The larger volume then other exchanges is keeping them thriving.

Every second or third transaction I make on Cryptsy leads me to talk to customer support.

When I say transaction, I mean....

1. Deposits.
2. Withdrawals.
3. Orders.

They have issues everywhere and are still the biggest exchange. We need to change this unless we want to see what happened with MtGOX happen to us at Cryptsy, utter failure.

Hell, half the time when they take a coindown for maintenance the coin goes down before any information is even given.
We must spread the good word about other exchanges, will continuing to get Cryptsy to fix pending issues.

I will start here, these are all alt-coin exchanges that have more than 1 BTC daily volume.

http://bter.com
https://www.coins-e.com/
http://coinex.pw
http://cryptorush.in
http://vircurex.com

http://coinmarket.io
https://www.atomic-trade.com
http://openex.pw
https://crypto-trade.com
https://www.poloniex.com/
https://mcxnow.com
https://www.swisscex.com'
http://c-cex.com

Bter has many options and is a great site, but it is a bit harder to navigate than some of them.

Crypto rush has a massive collection of coins, as well as many different trading pairs. Most coins can be traded for BTC LTC DOGE DGC or POT.

Happy trading, lets show Cryptsy that they are an exchange and as such need to step up their game.

Also I conducted a small experiment.

I have asked 300 people hat they think of when you say fedora, or fedoracoin.

The answer shockingly was "I think of the hat"

I can honestly say only 6 out of 300 people even mentioned the neckbeard nonsense.

So just so everyone knows, the big marketing choice to change it to TIP's clearly had no real world research to it. You guys are just taking the coin and going in the direction YOU all feel is right. I started on this thread with constructive critisism but it was left unheard. Keep up the shit work. I hope when invisibel gets back he demolishes these nonsense plans leading to nowhere for days on end.

Normal people, I can believe this.

Unfortunately, the crypto-currency community is full of 4chan users, 9gag users, and people like that. They only understand the meme.

TIPS works.

And this is where the problem is. If we want TIPS to be widespread then we have to think about the normal people. Cryptocurrencies have been around now with Bitcoin for a few years, it was only when the mainstream started to hear about it that we started seeing payment platforms, many exchanges, stores and services accepting crypto, the works.

Also,

You can believe me or not to the person who stated where is the proof. There is no way I could legit prove it anyways to someone who does not want to believe, so no point.

But I will say also, that I spread TIPS to every person I can convince to download the wallet. Would be easier with an android wallet but shit happens. The point is the 4chan and 9gags and those people have already had their chance to see Fedoracoin. If they believe they believe, and if not then they do not. The way to convince them is not to change the name and everything about the coin, but to show them that everyone else is interested. True success for a coin cannot be determined by the people on the internet. It will be determined by the people that try to stay away from the internet. Swaying them should be our focus.

We can do that by standing behind the coin and the development team. As I stated before, criticism does help but going ahead with completely changing a coin because it has had a bad few weeks is crazy. If that made sense almost every single coin out there should be changing there name because 99% of them are following that downhill tend. I have said before though, TIPs has the functionality and features to back itself up, and in the end that will be what prevails.
