121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 23, 2024, 02:46:13 PM
I don't think so because think about other investors who were already positioned before the Bitcoin block halved
Bitcoin block or Bitcoin block size does not halve. Its block subsidy halves after the halving from 6.25 BTC for one block before the halving to 3.125 BTC after the halving.

Quote
these people or some may add some Bitcoins to their bags.
So for me, overall it's all good in the hood right now, even Bitcoin block halving is already done, we still above $60,000 and it's more likely gonna create new all-time high again this time.
People who see good technology and security of Bitcoin blockchain, believe in bright future for Bitcoin, and already purchased bitcoin before the halving, will likely buy more after the halving if they have more money for investment.

How long will they hold their bitcoin after the halving will be different by investor to investor. Each of them have difference source of capital and different taste of risk acceptance and price target as well as available time for holding. They are part of the market and a bull run actually need new capital from new joiners.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Runes push fees as high as 900/vbyte or $196 US on: April 23, 2024, 11:33:19 AM
There are periods of time when it becomes very expensive to send small amounts of Bitcoin. It does impose a kind of 'mandatory HODL time period' for small-scale Bitcoiners.
I agree that with Bitcoin, a longer holding time, a better chance for a holder to get more profit but I really dislike situation when we have to hold our bitcoins while we don't want to hold it with a funny reason behind. We have no other choices because of very expensive transaction fee.

It is not a good advertisement for Bitcoin because we have keys (private keys), we have coins and we have need to move our bitcoins whenever we want. Can not do it because of expensive transaction fee, is a big barrier to bring more new people to Bitcoin community. It's big fear that you have bitcoin but can not do it, because if you do it, when transaction fee is unrealistic expensive, you will convert your bitcoins to satoshi dust.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Doesn't higher bitcoin prices more than compensate for reduced block reward? on: April 21, 2024, 06:02:05 PM
The value of bitcoin can be expected to at least double with every new cycle, along with the number of people using bitcoin.
So miners will also be receiving at least double the volume of transactions fees as bitcoin becomes more popular and more users are entering the space.
You have many things wrong here.

Bitcoin miners do math computation for two main tasks, finding a new block and confirming transactions for Bitcoin users.

By finishing these tasks, they will receive rewards in two types: Bitcoin block subsidy; and Bitcoin transaction fees.

Bitcoin block subsidy surely halves after a halving.

Bitcoin transaction fees is what never sure for Bitcoin miners. It can be high or low depends on time and how Bitcoin users choose to use their fee rates for transactions and demand on Bitcoin mempools.

Bitcoin price does not x2 for each past Bitcoin halvings. It increases with higher ROI than x2 but nothing to be sure it will be higher than x2 in this halving and future halvings.

Glassnode has a weekly report months ago about Ordinals' effects on Bitcoin transaction fee and income of Bitcoin miners.
Inscriptions, Mempools and Miners

Halving is only an event and between two Bitcoin blocks, before and after a halving block. Between two halvings, there are 210,000 blocks and time is about 4 years. Many things can happen during 4 years for Bitcoin adoption, mempools, demand and transaction fees.
124  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: April 21, 2024, 05:52:21 PM
No, like I said I don't like slots and I don't play slots, I never do.
Just tried it once for the free spins promotion and got what I expected, money to be thrown out the window. Slots are the biggest nonsense in the gambling industry, also the most dangerous one.

In the future I just ignore promotions with free spins since they are just a waste of money and time.
If you use free spins to play like for entertainment and play for fun, I don't think it is waste of money and time. Without free spins, you will have to spend own money to play, so now with freespins, play for fun is not too bad.

If playing free spins to win and have to do extra wager requirements to claim your win from free spins, it will be different things. It will bring risk of losing your own money. If the ultimate purpose is to get money and withdraw it, a gambler must consider more about risk but it is not main purpose of using free spins for playing.

I agree with you, slot games are very addictive and risky to lose gambler fund.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this madness or what? on: April 21, 2024, 05:40:48 PM
They haven't paid to to transfer 70 cents, they've paid to create this:
https://ordiscan.com/inscription/70279589
it's a rune
https://ordiscan.com/rune/DECENTRALIZED

And they paid that much to make sure that it gets minted on block 840 000, that's for bragging rights!
It looks like the very high transaction fee paid for it is not from a mistake or a wallet software bug.

In the past, if it is an individual mistake when making a transaction, a wallet bug, mining pools can allow that sender some days to reclaim their paid fee back. It will be refunded after the mining pool get agreement from their miners.

With this intentional expensive-fee-paid transaction, there will be no refund in my guess.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Taproot Update : Ordinals are killing bitcoin use case on: April 21, 2024, 05:30:58 PM
The devs seem very reluctant, but they will definitely have to do something about it. I just hope by the time a decision is made, it's not too late. If I have to pay fees $100 just to transfer $200 worth of BTC, then this is not a good alternative peer to peer electronic cash system.

People are going to try to look for cheaper alternatives and the growth of the Bitcoin network will reduce.
What cause reluctance of developers to fix holes that are exploited by Ordinals and Runes?

There is idea and proposal from Luke but it is a type of censorship that is not supported by Bitcoin developers. I agree with fight for freedom and against censorship because it is core value of Bitcoin and vision of Satoshi Nakamoto. We don't live our life with Satoshi Nakamoto's vision but if it is good practically, it can be continued. In contrast, if the vision is no longer good practically, something must be done to fix exploited holes.

Europa League Semifinals:
Benfica / Marseille vs Liverpool / Atalanta
Milan / Roma vs Leverkusen / West Ham

If you are sure that Leverkusen will win the Europa League, it is better to bet from now and get 2.25x odds, because the odds for Leverkusen in the final later must be below 1.7x.
My prediction for the final is Leverkusen vs Benfica, or maybe Liverpool if they can create a miracle by beating Atalanta with a 3 goal difference tonight.
My prediction for Europa League semi finals.

Benfica vs Atalanta
Roma vs Leverkusen

Final match prediction: I am not sure about it but here is my prediction.

Atalanta vs Roma / Leverkusen

I believe Atalanta will be able to beat Benfica in semi finals but I am really unsure about winner in Roma vs Leverkusen in semi finals. It's not easy for either Roma or Leverkusen to beat each other in semi finals if they meet again in Europa League.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this doesn't wake you up and make you do the RIGHT thing... on: April 18, 2024, 01:19:28 PM
Another interesting observation by one of the users is that the pools started doing this in November to January [3] so it's likely either miners selling bitcoins to prep their post-halving warchests, feeding the ETFs or both.
Bitcoin miners had to sell considerable bitcoins before the halving actually are not big miners. They did not do anything wrong because with their financial budget, not deep enough, they must to balance it to keep their mining operations continue after the halving.

In contrast, if a Bitcoin mining farm is big and has good financial budget for their mining operation, they will keep their bitcoins and wait for higher price after the halving. Selling bitcoins like this will not help them to maximize their mining business but nothing is right or wrong, it depends on their business model and finance they have.

After the Bitcoin halving, if price won't rise quickly, small Bitcoin mining farms will have to stop their mining because they will get negative net mining income. The rich will get richer and big Bitcoin mining farms will get richer with halving effects.
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Bitcoin be a full time career for investors? on: April 16, 2024, 02:34:39 PM
As we all know there are many investors that doesn't work for anybody rather than relying on their businesses and investment as their full time career and as well as depend on the return on their investment for the sustainabilities.
Before I answer you, I would prefer to tell you a basic principle of investment.

You must reserve some money, beyond your investment. This mean you don't use all money you have for investment and this mean you can live with reserved money or can use it for emergency.

With investment, it is risky, even the investment is in Bitcoin. You can lose your bitcoin by storing it on centralized exchanges [1], by hack of your non custodial wallet or anything else. Another risk for you, if you entirely depend on Bitcoin investment for income, is Bitcoin has bull and bear market. You can rely on your investment in bull market but in bear market, you will need money from some other sources.

You can apply
[ANN] JJG Sustainable Bitcoin Withdrawal Strategy
https://bitcoindata.science/withdrawal-strategy

My advice is continue to work, for salary and use it for your own life. Don't rely on investment for income to use as you will never be able to hold your bitcoin long enough to get good profit.

All deposit bonuses/welcome bonus at any casino will definitely have wagering requirements and additional rules/T&C so that the promo is not cheated by abusers.
I have to admit that there are still some casinos that do not write clearly about these additional rules, but CoinRoyale has clearly listed the terms and conditions for the promo here https://coinroyale.com/welcome-bonus
They have a long lived business so they have enough experience to know about cheating habit and they do good things by composing detailed terms for their Welcome Bonus Program. It is good to avoid cheaters come and test their platform, bonus and end up with non sense accusations against their business. It's what CoinRoyale team aware and they avoid it by the program terms.

Quote
If you say some of the terms are unfair, that is your own opinion and does not represent everyone.
When terms of a program are written clearly and announced publicly, it's user's responsibility to read it and decide to join or ignore the program. If they join but don't read terms, their accusations later will be non sense.
132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tutorial: Order Book, Lquidity, Market Maker on: April 16, 2024, 11:28:36 AM
It is important to help newbies for differentiation between Market Price Order and Limit Order.

If they don't know this difference and use Market Price Order, they can potentially get unwanted loss when selling a cryptocurrency with low volume trading pair. More severe effect will be seen with very low trading volume.

What's difference between Market Order and Limit Order
133  Other / Meta / Re: Sorting Search Results - Basic search limitation on: April 13, 2024, 04:43:08 PM
I can see Advanced Search has an option to select the search order, which works fine. Is there a feature planned wherein users can with a single click rearrange search results, rather than to have research after waiting 90 seconds?
Forum has limits on a member rank and activity point. I am not sure 90 waiting seconds here means that you can not search in shorter waiting time than that.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);
I am unsure I understand your issue correctly. At your activity point, I believe waiting time can be 360 seconds, for posting and can be the same for searching. It will become 90 seconds after your activity point is 15.

Even if we have UCL last 2 days , it was kinda hard to catch a bet right ? full of surprises but a lot of goals.

Instead today we do have Europa League with very appealing game like :

Ac.Milan vs As.Roma = a derby from Italy with a very high stake for both teams to actually qualify further

Benfica - Marseille = this one is a bit tricky but I think overall , Benfica should be the best team here.

Leverkusen - West Ham = that type of game where I can't take anything besides Leverkusen and I also have them as my winners.

Liverpool - Atalanta = should be the trickster game tonight where anything can happen.  Cool
It's quite strange that quarter final matches in Europa League and Conference League have less goals than quarter final matches in Champions League. Biggest clubs participate in Champions League have more pressure to win because it relates to their club finance flow too. It makes more sense if they focus more on defense and avoid loss but this week gives us something strange.

Clubs in Europa League did not want to play attacking like clubs in Champions League or results in first leg matches come from lower quality of clubs in Europa League and Conference League. With worse player quality, they have less capability to attack well and they struggled to score many goals like clubs in Champions League.

We will soon know about it with their second leg matches as they will have to spend their best for second leg matches, that decide who will go to semi finals.

Quote
Benfica - Marseille: 2 - 1
Leverkusen - West Ham: 2 - 0
Liverpool - Atalanta: 0 - 3
Milan - Roma: 0 - 1

Plenz - Fiorentina: 0 - 0
Olympiacos - Fenerbahce: 3 - 2
Aston Villa - Lille: 2 - 1
Brugge - PAOK: 1 - 0
135  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Risk of import wallet seed to a new web wallet, to chase airdrop on: April 12, 2024, 02:48:51 AM
Besides I was not aware of the sweep private key option, but you said it is for Bitcoin wallets, but I don't think if it's for BTC wallets then it is of any use to the airdrop hunters. As there are no airdrops that need such a wallet.
If you can not sweep, you can simply do two separated steps: Create a new wallet (not import current wallet seed); Move part of your fund to a new wallet. Then you can do airdrop's proactive and predictive tasks without fear that you will lose all fund in your main wallet.

Moving fund between two wallets with altcoin blockchains is not too expensive, except you do it on Ethereum blockchain. It worth to pay like few cent or even $1 to save your main fund like $500, $1000 or even bigger.

That's important not to use your main wallet for joining such airdrops.
Thanks to be straight and to the point.

Use main wallet for airdrop is very risky and import your main wallet's mnemonic seed from old wallet brands like Metamask, Myetherwallet to new wallet brands will increase your risk. We can not conclude what wallets are better and more secure than others. With new wallet brands, we have very little information about their quality and security.
136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Risk of import wallet seed to a new web wallet, to chase airdrop on: April 09, 2024, 11:33:23 AM
Is something happened with the wallets you have mentioned? As I did not hear any news that either of these wallets (web wallets) have scammed people's money when they imported their wallets.
I did not say anything bad already happened with those wallets.

It's my reminder that don't import your mnemonic seed from one wallet provider to another wallet provider because it's risky practice.

In Bitcoin wallets, we have options Sweep Private key and is recommended because of risk of import seed to different wallet softwares.

I think this is a bit paranoid imo.
I don't think so.

Quote
Metamask is not better than phantom or mew etc...
I did not say what wallets are better than others. I only say that be more careful with new wallet brands because they can have flaws in code and can be exploited. I have more reasons to trust long existing wallets than brandnew wallets.
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Risk of import wallet seed to a new web wallet, to chase airdrop on: April 08, 2024, 02:48:27 PM
I knew about this risk but forgot to create a topic to warn newbies.

Today I replied in a thread about Bitget wallet and remembered about that risk, this time I don't forget to create a warning thread for newbies.

If you want to join airdrop, create a new wallet. Move your funds from your current wallet to a new wallet, with value you want to join airdrop and on chain interactions.

Don't (never) import wallet mnemonic seed from your current wallet like Metamask wallet to a new web wallet like Bitget, Phantom, OKX. Some wallets have that import feature for you BUT NEVER choose Import.

If a new web wallet is bad, has back door, you can lose your money.

It does not take many time to create a new wallet with a new mnemonic seed. Don't be lazy and take big risk.

Read wallet reviews there

138  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitget Wallet Reviews on: April 08, 2024, 02:40:42 PM
Bitget is actively promoting their products in all platforms but I find their approach is kind of shady, even in this forum they used newbie account to constantly shill their names instead of promoting in the right way so I don't find their products trustable.
They can hire a third party marketing company to shill Bitget on many platforms and Bitcointalk can be one of destinations from their marketing propaganda.

They are a big exchange, has deep budget and they can use their marketing budget very ineffectively as one of careless ways to spend money.

Also, is Bitget Wallet Open Source?
People answered above that Bitget wallet is close source, that is true.

You can read reviews on Bitget wallet and confirmation that the wallet is close source.
https://walletscrutiny.com/?platform=allPlatforms&page=0&query-string=bitget

If you don't know where to check, you have to be cautious with wallets built by any centralized exchange. The possibility that wallet is close source, is very high.

SquirrelJulietGarden, in argument you can be called any name and I have seen it in many occasions whereby people called different kind of names of they disagreed with their opinions. In this forum I have corrected many people and I have not called any a shitpost because calling someone named is not part of me. And they are two things everyone in this forum do and I believed that is one of the objective of creating this forum. Those who don't know learn from those who have learned and when you have known then it is your turn into teach others. And I always start on that theory here. Bullying someone is not part of me. Even one of the quote you dropped here, he made a shitpost but I over looked it because I believed nobody above mistake. We misunderstand each other concepts and ideas. By the way this should not make me to write a bogus write up to create drama.
Who bully you, Agbe?

Community told you to improve your post quality but how many times you ignored it.

If you have good mind, you will see people are helping you, to improve and you should say thank you than calling me or any people are bullying you. Click on your post history and you will see what you need to improve.

If he does bet on Manchester United, then he is surely going to lose his money. I wouldn’t bet on this United side even if they are playing at Old Trafford. I have lost all confidence in the team, home advantage doesn’t count with Manchester United. I can’t wait to see who the fans will blame when they lose this game, probably the Glazers lol.
It was risky to bet on a big match like this and when Manchester United played at their home stadium, they can make more challenge against Liverpool. Liverpool are stronger, dominated the match, created many opportunities but it was not a day for them.

Their defense player made a big mistake and attacking players wasted many good chances. If you bet on Manchester United, you already won but it is risky to bet on a team that have been in troubles recent matches, even with weak opponents.

When I saw the market for Manutd vs Liverpool, for some reason I immediately thought that @icopress would most likely bet on Manutd.
He always loves to bet on the big odds like that lol
There are many gamblers at CoinRoyale.com platform, not only @icopress so please don't summon him all the time.

Guys, aren't you ashamed to wake me up? you mention my name so often  Smiley
