121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I fail in trading on: September 05, 2019, 11:24:11 PM
The easiest strategy to make money with bitcoin has not been trading but buying and holding for years. This takes no training, just the discipline to hold. There are advanced technical analysis strategies that have been successful at helping longer term traders move in and out of the market before a large move, when to short and when to buy back in. These models, some computerized are usually held closely. A program that can beat buy and hold is not going to be given away for free:) Most newbie traders fail at it, lose their bankroll and quit.

123  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Special Auction for 5x Denarium Bitcoin Decennium 2019 Gold Bars on: August 25, 2019, 01:11:07 AM
5 of 100 @ 0.15BTC

As I read the OP you are not bidding on individual bars, just the right to claim one of the five offered. Since there is one bid at 0.16 and four bids at 0.15 already any new bid at 0.15 would seem to be not valid. I think you have to bid at least 0.16 now but I might be wrong.
124  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Special Auction for 5x Denarium Bitcoin Decennium 2019 Gold Bars on: August 24, 2019, 03:37:51 PM
1 @ 0.16 BTC
125  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [LEGENDARY] LEALANA 25 LTC on: August 24, 2019, 03:24:24 PM
According to Ahonen the green firstbits make this a very rare coin. The book says there are 5 known, three are buyer funded and two are not. We could use a photo showing the full back of the coin with all the firstbits to check funding and condition.

enky.nakamura developed a useful support and resistance band based indicator called KAMA V1.22 which is available on TradingView. Right now bitcoin tested and held support but is still below the daily KAMA moving average which is at about $11000.

It needs to drop a bit more for me, 9700$ would be good. 10000$ would be OK.

Be careful what you wish for. The weekly point and figure chart shows bull market would reverse to bear if we have a weekly close under $9412:

128  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1.0BTC gold/silver 1oz 2013 Casascius & mint-condition bearer bar on: August 11, 2019, 07:29:14 PM
I doubt it is possible to get a bearer bar graded. ANACS notes in their FAQ what they will grade and a bearer bar is outside their size limits. It is unreasonable to expect a grading service to produce a holder large enough for a bearer bar if they only wind up grading a few but I could be wrong.
129  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Bitcoin SV (BSV) - fake team member and plagiarized white paper on: August 11, 2019, 12:50:56 AM
Jason Smith gives up on BSV, sells for BTC and apologizes in My Conclusions regarding Craig Wright on Medium.

My conclusions led me to divest completely from my BSV holdings, and put everything back in to BTC, where it will remain.

131  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] LEDGER PROTON WALLET on: August 09, 2019, 07:21:03 PM

I am also looking for information on these wallets..should anyone have any info please post on this thread as well. Thankyou Wink

This wallet was first shown at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in 2015.

There is an article in French. And also a video where this wallet is mentioned.

Very nice catch! That video is the only one I have seen of the Proton. I don't think the Proton ever made it into full production, here is the article translated:

I was buying from Ledger back then and never saw the Proton advertised. What Ledger did sell was an NFC card called the Ledger Unplugged which I tried out and found it very finicky about placement to get it to communicate with my phone. Ledger dropped that product from their line I don't think it sold well.

/u/murzika said on r/ledgerwallet back then:

The Proton is a product targeting developers only and won't be released for the general public.

Our next product will be the Ledger Blue and will be available Q4 2015.

If you are lucky some developer might see this and offer you one. Ledger might still have some on the shelf, you could contact them and see if they would sell you one as a collectible.
132  Other / Archival / Re: [AUCTION] 2013 LEALANA DIME - BLACK FIRST BITS - ANACS MS69 #452 on: August 09, 2019, 12:44:38 AM
There's a similar coin on ebay right now, it's got a higher serial number but was funded months earlier.
Ah, so this is actually a buyer funded coin. Thats why higher serials are funded earlier, and why this is funded from bittrex, got it.

All coins from smoothie are "Buyer funded" - You either have to load them yourself before he will send them to you, otherwise they get lasered with "Buyer-funded", which this coin is not. Wink

Also, I believe the serials were never done in any particular order, so that's why you will find higher or lower ones funded on different dates etc.

Good to know thanks. Ahonen lists 490 known black label Lealana 0.1 BTC Silver but only 10 B/F black those must be the ones lasered "Buyer-funded". Good luck with the auction.
133  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2011 Casascius Unredeemed Coin on: August 08, 2019, 04:06:29 PM
Helping out until you get the Copper membership. Tip: you need to use the .jpg image extension if you want to insert images in posts here, the default img.ur link does not work on this forum. Use the "Direct Link" rather than the "Image Link".

Verified funded in 2011. Based on the most recent auction of three ungraded 2011 1 BTC error coins you should be able to get 1.1 to 1.2. GLWS!

I could be wrong but isn't /u/smooth_xmr on reddit smoothie? If so he is active on /r/Monero.
136  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Auction of 2013 Titan One physical bitcoin on: August 05, 2019, 04:08:54 AM
You won't sell it if you hold out for 1.5. Goldines are not that rare or valued as much by collectors as Casascius coins. You need to realize the auction market does not care what you paid. In fiat you paid about $375 and can now sell for 1.1 or about $12,000. That is a nice profit. But feel free to hold on to the coin.
137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 05, 2019, 03:00:41 AM
Tipping point reached bulls in control.

138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 04, 2019, 04:56:41 PM
People tend to forget just how speculative bitcoin really is. Sure it has been around over ten years but it is still a grand experiment and experiments fail sometimes. I tend to think in 5 years bitcoin will be either be worth more than $50,000 or zero. If Wall Street can make money from it that is a powerful force to keep bitcoin alive. Sure it is decentralized but governments can shut down the on and off ramps like Coinbase if they decide bitcoin is a real threat to fiat. Or regulate them to the point price crashes.
139  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Auction of 2013 Titan One physical bitcoin on: August 04, 2019, 03:55:25 PM
Because you have edited the images there is no way to verify funding you should correct that. Last one auctioned here sold for 1.105 see link you could reasonably expect to only get 1.1 to 1.15 sorry about that but GLWS.
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 03, 2019, 07:27:56 PM
I have combined Fibonacci retracement levels from both the weekly and 3 day Bitstamp charts below. You can see we are into a bullish 3 day 50/200 MA Golden Cross but there is significant overhead resistance at $11,400 on Bitstamp where Fibonacci levels from the weekly and 3 day charts overlap and reinforce each other.

I consider $11,500 a tipping point, if price can break that level on volume we have a good chance of making it to $13,880. The weekly middle BBand is right at $8,000 now and the worst case I see is very strong support at $7,000 to $7,500.
