We don't want stability. Stability is stagnation and stagnation is death.
Stability is what makes big money feel safe enough putting something big forward for Bitcoin.  If we want some sort of wide adoption then we shouldn't want the price moving around enough that it feels like a huge risk.  Changes over time like in gold are one thing, but the swings we have in the world of crypto are just too crazy to make most people want to have anything to do with it.
122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC now or wait for a lower price? on: April 13, 2016, 01:42:59 AM
Personally I'd wait for some sort of drop before buying back in.  Buy when there's blood in the streets, as that's when everybody else will be trying to get rid of theirs when it's not really a good idea to.

The bigger the drop the better, just don't freak out if it keeps going down after you buy in.  If you're in it for the long term you would have experienced the whole thing anyway Wink
123  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: April 13, 2016, 01:41:15 AM
I don't keep any saved most times, I just buy using Circle when I'm going to have a need for it within the next few days.  Don't see a point in exposing myself to the volatility if I don't have to.
124  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: April 13, 2016, 01:40:03 AM
I'm getting a spinning wheel of death trying to log into the site..
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fasten your seatbelts: now it begins... on: April 13, 2016, 01:30:25 AM
30-day historical window has plunged to the 9th least volatile on record! Only days below this are Jan 3-10 2013. It is going to be hard for 30-day to be more stable than this. It stands at 0.858%.

60-day has made a small drop to position 31. It has crawled down to 1.486%. But in the coming <2 weeks I expect this number to plunge to near record levels due to the tail of the window dropping off a rather volatile mid-Feb.

The lack of excitement is exciting.
Ironically staying stable for a while will make people sitting on the sidelines ready to reinvest, and therefor shoot up and make it volatile again.  It's going to be a hell of a time trying to make the value of BTC stay stable for any decent length of time...
126  Economy / Economics / Re: Spending Bitcoins on: April 12, 2016, 11:08:29 PM
To grow the adoption of bitcoin we need people spending it as a daily currency.
In my country there is not much I cant buy with bitcoins.
Granted not a lot of retailers accept BTC yet but with all the services available now they dont need to.
A bitcoin debit card can be very handy.

Nowadays if I need to pay a bill then I can pay any bill via a site called livingroomofsatoshi

Please list any reasons why you could not use bitcoin for day to day expenses and maybe we can find a way.

in my country there are no shops that accept bitcoin either thus bitcoin can not perish right here and thats a really sad thing for me to be honest, i hope that everything will change in the future

i think that spending bitcoin will be available in my country after around a decade when all people will be able to use it and countries will accept it as a regular currency
In my country bitcoin is not accepted in any places including local stores, malls and restaurants. I spend coins only on online. As you said it can be accepted in future only if it becomes an ordinary currency.

Theres a way to go around the current system.

Most of the exchanges now offer a btc-debit card that funds that card value on what you hold - so you can spend traditionally since its a visa/mastercard.

That requires you keeping funds on an exchange though, and unless you want to wait for confirmations every time you want to buy something you'll have to keep more than you intend on spending on there.  Kinda takes away one of the main benefits of BTC (complete control over your own money) using it that way...
127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senate bill draft would prohibit unbreakable encryption on: April 12, 2016, 11:04:01 PM
Something like this could really hurt cryptocurrency... who's going to want to invest knowing that they won't be able to encrypt their wallet in a way that nobody but them can access?  Privacy should be a basic right, not something we have to fight for...
128  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: April 12, 2016, 11:01:48 PM
I do not actively spend my bitcoins. I sometimes use them for gambling but that is it. I just save the most of my bitcoins for the future. I do not want to spend everything and regret it later on.

No need to regret.

Just focus on getting more fiat to purchase what you lost in bitcoin, then it`ll also help you lessen the gambling aspect since you see how much money you spent too.
I find it ironic that you're saying buying Bitcoin will help him lessen his gambling.  Investing in crypto is pretty much the definition of gambling Tongue
129  Other / Politics & Society / North Carolina Revises HB2 After Fallout on: April 12, 2016, 10:59:58 PM
Just about a week after North Carolina passed HB2, fallout from businesses and residents alike have gotten the state to revise the bill.  While the 'bathroom bill' portion of it is still in effect, gender identity and sexual orientation have been added to the state's equal employment policy.

Don't worry, OP! Price will fall back down to 410 range in a few days, certainly before the weekend starts. We've been in the 410-425 range for a while now. There's nothing to shake it out of the range at the moment. Just relax and ride these small waves, I'm enjoying them, I buy on every dip and sell on every crest, just like taking candy from a baby.
I don't know, things have been looking pretty positive since the end of March.  If we can hit 430 I wouldn't be surprised if we manage to shoot back up to the 440+ range.
131  Other / Politics & Society / Re: College Implements Gender Neutral Bathrooms on: April 05, 2016, 11:18:07 PM
The point is not that it will prevent these things, but having the laws on the books would make it more risky for school administrators for example to stop creepers from trying over and over for fear of being cast as being discriminatory or being sued.

In a school situation there's not going to be many trans people out, maybe 3 or 4 in the whole school.  Somebody that doesn't identify as trans goes in the other bathroom, give 'em hell.  We could even go as far as to make it illegal to go in the other bathroom without a diagnosis of gender dysphoria from a psych.  Carry a little card around showing you've been diagnosed and it's not a part time gig.

There has to be a compromise somewhere in here..

My personal opinion is to simply relax the rules set.  Meaning we don't need jail time for people that go into the opposite sex bathroom, and we don't need high school suspensions for it.

But we don't need a whole boatload of increasingly complex law and regulation either, we need less of it.  So why not just fire all those people who think their job is to make up rules about this stuff all day long?

Legislation in one direction is as bad as legislation in another.  If you think you can figure out "better, fairer law" you have been conned, my friend.
We're on the same side here, I dislike the idea of any new legislation.  Things were just fine when you quietly went in and out of your identified bathroom and maybe got a few weird looks.  Now that all the media attention is on the new law people are a lot more trigger happy to do something about it.

However, anything is better than getting arrested and put on the same list as someone stripping in public for going to pee.

While I wish we could just let people use bathrooms based on gender identity, this seems like a valid option for places wanting to be transgender friendly.

As a trans person currently living in NC, this law sucks ass.  Big burly transmen will be in the girls room and freak them out, transgirls will be in the guys room and risk being attacked.  Either way, police may be called and take time to check ID's, not to mention if you get an officer that isn't TG friendly....

You're pretty much stuck between outing yourself to the world as trans and risking your safety, and risking being charged with a sex crime.

Going to the bathroom shouldn't feel like Mission Impossible to avoid being seen -_-

So what is your issue with unisex bathrooms then?
I don't have one, but I'd rather just be able to use the one I identify with anywhere rather than having to hunt out a 'safe space'.  If everywhere had a unisex bathroom I'd be totally okay with it, but that simply won't happen.

I understand your complaints, but is it not true that allowing anyone to just choose what bathroom they want to use creates problems and conflicts for the vast majority of the population as well? It is very possible people could just masquerade as trans just to get into opposite sex bathrooms for reasons of degeneracy. Why do you think it is ok to transfer your discomfort to others to alleviate your own?
What is to stop some creep from doing these things anyway?  If somebody is creeping around call the cops on them for being a creep or harassing you.

Couldn't somebody of the other gender say they are biologically female but look like a man, and therefor have to be in that bathroom?

Hell, I could go as far as to say these laws make it easier for the creeps to get in, as somebody presenting as a man just has to say they have a vagina.

To answer your questions, the vast majority of the time it does not create a conflict, and what it may create is about as bad as the conflict of allowing transmen in womens bathrooms (and vice versa).

Unless you have a unisex bathroom, trans people that do not pass will inherently make somebody uncomfortable, as will bathroom laws.

136  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How many TH/s is needed... on: April 03, 2016, 03:59:30 AM
Be careful with cloud mining, many times it will come back to bite you in the ass.  Trying to mine 1 BTC over a month means you're going to have to put in a pretty large investment for very little potential profit.

Buying a TH or two for fun is one thing, but dropping a large amount is something you will most likely regret.
137  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How long u use your mininghardware on: April 03, 2016, 03:56:32 AM
Personally I think its best to use the hardware for 2 months or so, then try to time the sale close to when the next gen of miners will be coming out.  If you get lucky you may be able to turn a profit this way, but at the cost of labor.
138  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: April 03, 2016, 02:54:06 AM
Right now i trying to mining a lot of coins, i thinking its mabey its good to save the coins like 6-12 mdr before selling it.

Can orther explain about its a good point else about the risk its to high to lose to lot on it?

well it is risky,  but if you have lots of money in reserve to pay for fees and so, then save moondollars for more as you can, and if you don't have money then you should sell them when you can to get money for fees

I think yes it's risky, but i think you should mine only if your mined coins will be enough to pay for electricity and other stuff for mining.

Which majority cant afford lol.

Which is why most will buy a mining contract to off-set the cost and its why bitmains contracts are bought constantly.

If you can match the same costs as people over in china, then youre in a gold mine.

I do not think you can match the cost as people in China. It is not only the electricity cost, but the labor cost.

What labor cost?

You mean the setup for the miners for 1 time? Once they are the mining racks, I dont see any other labor invovled besides replacing the dead miners which shouldnt cost much.

Also labor is cheap in china..

If only it were that simple.  Miners will have too many HW errors and need to be rebooted, networking equipment will go out, power supplies will die, they will go down for no particular reason and need to be troubleshooted...  Running a lot of miners does take labor.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the 2016 - BTC Price Prediction on: April 03, 2016, 02:49:39 AM
I'm guessing it will either go one of two ways.  Either we will break out into a bull trend and be around 550-600, or go back to the mid to lower 200's
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: sorry what is halving the price will rise e or reduce? on: April 03, 2016, 02:43:27 AM
We already had one halving 4 hears ago.  So just go back and look at the charts.
It's impossible to compare the state of BTC 4 years ago to that of today.  Back then it was still in the cult following phase, whereas now it has broken into the mainstream (and not with the best reputation at the moment.).
