Any human looking at the advert for one second would have seen that it was an obvious scam but I had dozens of them in the past fortnight.
With those huge-ass platforms, they concern themselves more with algorithmic practices for filtration rather than any human-based interaction.

The 'perceptions of scale' concept only applies when the model is trained sufficiently and unfortunately, it's much easier to outpace the current type of moderation that these larger sites are using, especially if you have any amount of creativity at all. Scammers run wild.

I really would have thought that there would have been at least some human verification at some point before the adverts go live just to make sure they're not advertising porn or, you know, blatant scams. This just seems like a massive hole that can easily be exploited by scammers and obviously is being done time after time. Saw another one yesterday with the Winklevi. I can't imagine it's cheap for the scammers to advertise though, especially with the amount of ads I've been seeing. Does anyone know what it costs roughly to do a pre-roll ad there? I guess it probably differs by content and creators but I still would be surprised if they made their money back, but it's obviously something the scammers are willing to gamble on.

Over the past week or two I've been seeing these double your bitcoin scam adverts before youtube videos. Elon Musk, Vitalik Buterin, the CEO of Sony and a couple of others have all been used to try get people to send bitcoins.
Let's look at it in another direction, only an avaricious person would fall for this scam. Anyone who is familiar with Bitcoin in the age and own a Bitcoin wallet should first know that doubling Bitcoin is a joke.

Well I don't disagree with you there and you've got to be pretty stupid and greedy to fall for it, but regardless youtube shouldn't be promoting this stuff.
1222  Other / Meta / Re: self-moderated/locked threads in marketplace section on: July 17, 2020, 10:38:52 AM
Personally I think it needs to be restricted to junior members and up.

 ie no newbies

But it has not happened that way.

I'm 50/50 on that though. Whilst I probably would lean towards restricting it to Newbs and Juniors it could also be then abused by existing users selling the same or similar things trying to sales trash their competition. I would admit though the ratio of older/existing users sales-trashing would be dwarfed by new users trying to scam. Guess weight the pros with the cons but theymos is usually against implementing more restrictions in most cases but at least this doesn't hinder users to post, just self-moderate and maybe you could argue they need to earn that right.
1223  Other / Meta / Re: self-moderated/locked threads in marketplace section on: July 16, 2020, 11:17:31 AM
Yeah, there are pros and cons to it. Usually self-modded and locked threads are a big warning sign anyway so people should take that into consideration from new or low-ranked accounts and use caution with them, but I also think people should be able to self-moderate their threads how they want and to remove shit posters or trolls if they deem necessary. If people are abusing the self-mod feature to stifle criticism or caution then that should be a Reputation or Scam Accusation issue and people should go about it that way. If obvious scammers are doing it then just leave appropriate feedback to warn others.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I'm actually infinite  Grin.

My granddad is in his early 70s and can't even turn a PC on so congrats. Sadly he has dementia now so imagine me trying to explain bitcoin to him when he asks what it is 5 times in a day  Grin

Age is just a number, Its how you feel that counts.

Tell that to the judge, R Kelly  Cheesy.

I just check pool just 2 members favouring Arsenal and I was one of them 3 was on draw its really shocking for me because after Manchester City vs Liverpool I was feeling many will try to select Arsenal instead of Liverpool but no so another shocking day ends now heads up for tomorrow.

I thought Liverpool would struggle hence why I went for the 1-1 draw. I don't trust either team right now. Arsenal are all over the place and Liverpool seem to be getting sleepy and complacent with not much to play for. They can't beat the PL points record now either as they would have had to have won their last three games to do so and there's only two left for them now. I won on my three fold though after putting money on all outcomes of the final game and the other two had already come in:

A draw would have been better though as I could have done with the points on the pool. A Liverpool win would have just got me my money back plus a couple of quid on top but I put that on just in case.

Pretty embarrassing for Twitter, but I suppose it might at least it get bitcoin back in the news, though not exactly in a positive light. YouTube needs to sort their shit out too. Over the past week or two I've been seeing these double your bitcoin scam adverts before youtube videos. Elon Musk, Vitalik Buterin, the CEO of Sony and a couple of others have all been used to try get people to send bitcoins. Does Youtube not even verify the ads they run? Any human looking at the advert for one second would have seen that it was an obvious scam but I had dozens of them in the past fortnight. They should probably get sued. I know Facebook was successfully sued by MoneySavingExpert's Martin Lewis for constantly posting ads featuring him for bitcoin scams a couple of years ago and the same should happen here.

What a unlucky goal in 97 minute to not let Manchester United have a good go for the Champions League. This was the golden occassion they had and they missed it but more of being unlucky rather than playing badly.I should stop giving suggestions on betting on these events as both Chelsea and Manchester United didn’t win their games.

I'd rather see Leicester or even Wolves or Sheffield in Europe than Man United.

Okies

this is a head to head where I am again thinking to look for a weird bet with good odds, like high goals or corners.

Perhaps even an bit of in play if the corners stays low at the start or something.

Should be quite a few goals. Norwich are already relegated and have also lost their last 8 games in a row. Chelsea are still trying to keep their Euro spot as well. I think over 2.5 goals would be a good bet and I've gone for 3-0 on my predictor, but could be more. As for corners they're always unpredictable and I tend to stay away from them personally.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 14, 2020, 10:07:51 AM
Wow, what a round - 8,5 points is the maximum collected so far.
No point for anyone in the last game. What a petty for Utd to drew with Southampton.
The pool is getting more challenging for me. Now MoSalah took my place and ahead by 3 points. I need to do something to have a good round for me. Round 36 is starting with Chelsea match. Are they going to win or we are waiting for any unpleasant surprise?

I'm glad they got the goal for the draw as that means no points for anyone. Four people went with 2-1 including tokeweed and LTU_btc which would have moved the later to one point behind me. Anyone anticipating any thrashings in the next few games? Chelsea playing Norwich tonight who are already relegated and have also lost their last 8 games. Chelsea are only point ahead of Leicester and Man U so need to keep hold of the Europe spots and Wolves and Sheff United are gunning for them as well. Man City Bournemouth tomorrow and that could be a drubbing. They've been playing pretty shit lately except for the bizarre 4-1 win they go against Leicester last week. Away to Man City I don't think they'll be that lucky though.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 13, 2020, 01:07:50 PM
Stayed up to watch the fights. Pretty good card overall.  Masvidal did decent but Usman was the better fighter. Glad Masvidal didn't give any excuses post-match but taking the fight on such short notice should be considered. I'd really like to see him fight McGregor at some point if he ever comes back. It seems so does Dana: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/12095198/conor-mcgregor-jorge-masvidal-fight-ufc/

I think that would be the biggest UFC even ever, unless he fights Khabib again but I think a McGregor Masvidal fight would be a better match up.

Max Holloway clearly won his fight. No idea what the judges were doing but pretty much everyone seemed to think he had it.

Jose Aldo fight should have been stopped much earlier. No idea what the ref was doing. It seemed like Aldo was just waiting for the ref to step in and stop the beating.

Namajunas deserved the decision, though the fight was pretty close.

Paige VanZant isn't very good and I think she's only there for eye candy really, sadly. Will be interesting to see if she goes for another contract. She's not a great fighter but I'm sure she still brings in some eyeballs. Maybe she should stick to promoting shit on Instagram if that's where the money is for her.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 13, 2020, 12:31:55 PM
What the hell happened to Leicester? 1-0 up until the 67th minute and on aim to get me a correct score then they ended up losing 4-1. Anyone going for anything other than a home win on tonight's game? United have been playing pretty well recently and should win but Southampton have had some good results as well including beating Man City.

I watched Tottenham vs Arsenal game, they killed my interest in football today. I'm not sure what their tactics are (for both teams). I hope none of them will qualify to European cups in next season, it will only embarrass Premier League. because of them, I missed an obviously good match between Bournemouth and Leicester. I think, Leicester going out of top 5 for sure. They can't play without Madison and Soyuncu against Wolves and Man Utd.
There are only few teams play seriously with desire to win(Man Utd, Sheffield, Wolves). All other from the middle of the table play just to finish this season, like Everton, Newcastle, Crystal Palace... Really hope, West Ham, Watford can stay in PL.

They don't deserve to qualify for Europe and doubt they will. Hopefully Wilves or Sheffield will instead. Regardless you moved up there places to sixth behind me. It's going to be real hard to hold on to the top 5 spots as it's so close.
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 11, 2020, 02:42:10 PM

Question. Can we change picks for remaining games after first game started?

You can change them right up until kick off as long as you don't lock them.

Gone for 3-0 on the Liverpool game. 1-0 now. I'm not watching it but looks like they're off to a sluggish start.

Sheffield United is in a pretty good shape. Chelsea is quite efficient on the away matches, on the previous duels, they have both been quite effective as well
I think that both could score and I'm giving and advantage to Chelsea - 1:2 is my pick

I think it will be close. Anything could happen. Will probably back the draw though. I'll probably watch this one.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 10, 2020, 07:49:19 PM
^  I think it's going under 4.5.  IMHO.  I already made the bet.

And here's the cage by the beach.  Are they really gonna be fighting there??

The main card is gonna start at 22:00 EST, so that's 6:00 in the morning Abu Dhabi time?  Looks like it's gonna be around sunrise and main event at around 8:00.  Lol.

No, though I wish it was. It would have made it so much better being on the beach. It's just for practising in.The main card is at bout 3-5AM UK time. Shame it wasn't on in the evening Abu Dhabi time but I guess they've done it early there for the US audience. I'll probably just go to bed early and set an alarm for the main card fights which should all be pretty decent.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: July 10, 2020, 03:09:05 PM
I don't think playing one leg is much different. It might make the games more intense if anything as you know you've only got one shot. There's no real need to play two legs in a neutral venue really.

What's annoying though is that they've seemingly arranged all the games to kick off at the same time. What's the point in that? There's four games kicking off at the same time on the 12th. Now we've gotta choose which game. They should have played them all on different days to maximise viewing.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 10, 2020, 10:29:09 AM
Originally had 0-0 for the Spurs game last night but changed it last minute to 0-1 to Spurs thinking they should be able to get a goal. Would have been mad at changing it but I also changed the Everton game from 1-0 to 1-1 and that came in so ended up with the same amount of points in the end regardless of the change. Retook the fifth spot again but it's so close between places 2- to mid table really. Anything can happen. Can't afford any slips ups or the top 5 will be shaken up drastically but I think Tokeweed is safe in the number one spot.

Another great win for Man Utd, they are definitely going to make a CL spot (assuming City are defo banned). Elsewhere Aston Villa are in deep trouble.

They'll find out on Monday whether the ban stays or not.
1235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 09, 2020, 11:18:20 AM
Exciting matches it was yesterday, and hope today is even more exciting

Today's matches
Bournemouth vs Tottenham
Bournemouth is at home to Tottenham, Tottenham who are fresh of a win against Everton would be heading for all three points against Bournemouth whose defence was embarrassed by in form Manchester united.
I predict a win for Tottenham Hotspur
Next match

Everton vs Southampton
The Toffees will be hosting the saints to goodison park, Everton lost to Tottenham Hotspur while Southampton won Manchester city in the respective last matches, but today I think it will matter little, my prediction is about goals. Over2.5 and both team scores

Next match
Aston Villa vs Manchester united
The relegation battling team goes locks horn with in form and UEFA champions league chasing Manchester united who has inform players like bruno fernandes, greenwood, martial and co, I give Aston Villa a little chance in getting anything out of this match.
My prediction a win for Manchester united

Those are fair picks, and I'm bit surprised knowing the odds for Tottenham to win is @1.7 and Man United to win @1.3. By making a parlay of them, the odds becomes @2.2 which I think it's a very safe and great pick imo. I won't miss this chance lol.

I wouldn't go with any of these personally. I think the Spurs game could be close. Tempted to go for the draw, but Spurs should win but I don't have that much faith in them right now.  I think the Everton/Southampton game will also be close. Southampton have had some good results recently but I'm not sure how long that will continue. Both teams to score maybe but I could see a stalemate. Could also see 0-0 though to be honest. Man United should win but Villa are desperate for points so who knows what would happen. I'd probably back a narrow United win though.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 09, 2020, 10:51:23 AM
Edit:  Still..  Sucks with Burns out and Khabib's dad.  You guys think Khabib's really gonna retire?

I don't see why he should retire because of that. If anything he should continue on and do him proud. Khabib doesn't really seem to be all about the money though whereas before his father has said things somewhat contradictory in the media such as that if the money was right he will fight Connor again etc. Khabib doesn't seem to have been active on social media since it happened though so hopefully he will continue on and fight Gaethje on UFC 253.

Didn't realise that the Fight Island was going to be so early in the morning over there. They're roughly on the same time zone as the UK normally so the fights are on at a reasonable time but I guess they're doing it so early for the US audiences which sucks for the Europeans. Would have liked to have watched the card live but I might just catch it in the morning now. I'll see if any other fighters drop out as it wouldn't surprise me if someone else tests positive for Covid especially when Masvidal's coach did which could end up with him being out if he tests positive at some point.

Also looks like Mike Perry has been caught doing a McGregor and taken to OAP boxing: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8505009/Horrifying-moment-UFC-fighter-Mike-Perry-caught-video-punching-elderly-man.html

Didn't do great yesterday but was close on the draw with the Sheffield Wolves game but then they went and scored in injury time. Sheffield are only one point behind Wolves now. Both could still get that Europa spot but I think Man U will likely hold onto it or maybe Leicester will drop some points and get overtaken. No real exciting matches tonight.
Watched some of the Sheffield United match last night - it was a draw all the way - Wolves must be gutted !

I like Wolves and want them to do well. Nice to see Sheffield doing great though also. Pretty crazy since they were in the Championship last year. It's rare that teams move up from there and do well. Look at Norwich. They won the league and now they're rock bottom and are almost certainly going straight back down.

Can’t work Leicester out - they seem to be all over the place, there’s no consistency at all - just like my picks  Smiley

A draw against Arsenal was good for Leicester.

Anyone fancy Bournemouth for a surprise tonight ?

Not for me, though I don't know whether to go for a draw or Spurs win.

1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 09, 2020, 09:44:19 AM

Agree with panjul07 as right now if someone can predict just four of five exact results in single round then surely he can score some good points and have good chance of winning consolation prize as right now going in top five is very difficult but no impossible.

4 or 5 is very hard to do though and is usually rare. I'm not sure how many I got with my highest score as it doesn't seem to say for some reason. All I can see is the results, close scores and slam points. It's not all about exact scores either as you can tally points up easily just by getting right results with close scores.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 08, 2020, 03:56:48 PM
Well, good that I've bet the handicap (0) on Arsenal yesterday, it ended 1:1, and the red card was more than deserved

Today we have 4 matches going on, just made my pics

Manchester City is very convinced playing at home lately, Newcastle plays pretty well and efficiently after the break, I see a lot of goals here, and my pool pick is 3:0
Maybe I will play an Over 2.5 scored goals by City, not sure at the moment

After the restart of the season, Sheffield United haven't seen the net empty, they are receiving goals every match, Wolverhampton can score easily on away games
And in the first duel of this season, both teams scored a goal
My pool pick is 1:2, and a possible bet will be Both teams to score

West Ham has played two good matches in a row, Burnley plays a little bit weaker away games and they seems to be without the right motive as a team
My pool pick is 2:0 and I will bet on West Ham to win this match

Brighton is not playing well at home lately, Liverpool is simply great this season
The seven mutual duels belonged to Liverpool, I'm going with a 0:2 on the pool and will avoid this pair on the bookies

Yesterday I got 1 result and 1 close, not bad :-)
Today is a new chance to grab some more points

I think all the games will be close except for the City game. Should win 2 or 3 nil I reckon but they're coming off a shock loss to Southampton so it might not be the goalfest people are expecting. I wouldn't back Wolves away to Sheffield. I can see both teams scoring though. West Ham and Burnley anything could happen so I'll probably go for a draw. Liverpool should win but I'm thinking not by much, especially after the lucky win against Villa last week. 0-0 up until 70 minutes. If Liverpool had something to play for I'd be more confident that they could win by a few but I think this will be another close one but still a narrow win for them. Brighton need points though to make sure they stay well out of the relegation zone so that's the only thing that's making me think they might have something to play for here so them getting a point or even three wouldn't surprise me though I don't think they'll be getting the full three points.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 08, 2020, 03:17:46 PM
Liverpool ML at 1.60 odds!  Shocked a bit high, and they're facing a team from the bottom half, but considering Pool haven't won an away game in months, i kinda understand why such odds.

I'll wait until the starting 11's are confirmed before pulling the trigger, those odds look like free money, but if Klopp decides to rotate the squad then i might change my mind

City Liverpool Burnley to win 6.33/1
careful with Burnley, they're sitting comfortably in the mid table while West Ham are still not safe from relegation and will be more motivated to get the 3 points today.

Yeah, I wouldn't back this. City should win easily, but I think the Burnley game could be a draw and have gone for that on my predictor. Definitely wouldn't back them to win away. I don't think Liverpool are a dead cert to win either. It was looking pretty dicey for the first 70 minutes of the Villa game until they scored and that was at home. I still think Liverpool will win but maybe only by a goal and I certainly wouldn't put money on it. Maybe draw no bet just in case. Skybet have a price boost for City Liverpool and Burnley to win at 8/1 if you're going to put it on. Burnley to draw instead is 7/1 and West ham to win is 9/2.

nothing to interesting today in Premier league, but City and Liverpool could score many goals, and i will play both over 3.5 on my ticket, would add West ham on another one, since they could clear their status today with a win, and they will probably do it

Are you sure about Liverpool? They only managed two at home to Villa and was a stalemate for most of the game. I think this game could be much closer. Liverpool don't really have much to play for and Brighton aren't safe from relegation yet (though I think they'll be ok) but they'll still be clamouring for points wherever they can get them.
