Ledger and other hardware wallet manufacturers need to get some global reseller cooperations, for example with local electronic shops. People don’t like to buy from resellers, but I think this would be solvable with a secure and tamperproof packaging. Also Colcard and others are very hard and expensive to get if you don’t live in Canada.
In Indonesia, there are still very few official hardware wallet distributors or resellers. Besides beli-bitcoin.co, one is ncrypt.co.id, an authorized reseller for several hardware wallet products, including ColdCard Mk4. The price (if converted to USD) is around USD 181 - USD 200; it is a little more expensive than the price listed on the official website, which costs around US 148. But I think it's reasonable, considering there are shipping costs from the manufacturer and taxes that apply in my country. |

Btw om Husna apakah ada rencana untuk memperbarui list reseller HW resmi di Indonesia? Mungkin bisa membantu buat yang ingin beli HW tapi masih kesulitan untuk mencari secara mandiri (mengingat yang di hyperlink hanya pencarian online store biasa dan redirect ke berbagai toko). Walau ane pribadi nyari reseller resmi juga agak kesulitan sih. Yang ane temukan hanya Beli Bitcoin untuk Ledger, dan N-Crypt untuk safepal dkk. Apakah nanti akan ada mixer-mixer legal ber-KYC?
Suatu hal yang bertolak belakang dengan prinsip Bitcoin mixing itu sendiri sekalipun layanan tersebut merupakan Centralized Mixing Services (CMS)* seperti pada beberapa layanan mixing yang ada. Kalau KYC diterapkan logikanya untuk apa susah-susah mixing bitcoin disana jika ujungnya identitas pemilik koin tersebut tetap saja dikatahui. I still remember when I got accepted to CM, I was a part of another mixer's campaign run by Hhampuz, and he went out of his way to ask DS if we could finish the week so that he could pay us before changing our signature, he was very professional and showed no signs of being mad at me and the other two guys who moved from his campaign, I am sure the other folks like Royse, yahoo and icopress and the rest would act as professional, so all in all, nobody had lost anything.
I was one of those who were accepted into CM, and I can still find the Hhampuz post you mean: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935179.msg50637155#msg50637155. Even though the beginning of the period in CM could have covered or exceeded the previous campaign, I preferred to complete the campaign professionally until the end period. And from what I experienced in the Hhampuz and DarkStar_ campaigns, they also worked professionally. I'm sure other campaign managers like Royse777 also have their way of being professional in their movements, including creating sensational events so that the campaigns they manage have their history. Although personally, I don't like lies. One last piece of advice to everyone is to stop taking signature campaigns as a main source of income, there is nothing more stupid than that, we all love the forum and love posting (I posted here for years before even applying to any campaign) but then I figured out if I can get some little extra income while doing something I already do, why not? but you should still treat every week as if it's the last week, make zero plans on what you are going to do with the payment for this week or next week.

Ya itu point pentingnya, seed adalah sebuah nyawa dari semua ini, itu sama pentingnya menjaga hardware wallet itu sendiri, kadang banyak yang meremehkan hal ini dan lebih mementingkan keamanan HW, padahal induknya sendiri ada pada 12/24 kata yang walau pun HW rusak, tetap bitcoin kita masih bisa diakses lewat wallet dan media lainnya jika seednya masih aman,
Ya, bahkan untuk keperluan penyimpanan aset kripto jangka panjang sebenarnya tanpa hardware wallet pun bisa saja dibuat hanya dengan create address yang digunakan untuk keperluan deposit dan seed phrase yang disimpan di tempat aman dan terbuat dari bahan yang cukup tahan terhadap kerusakan semisal ketika terkena air, api, karat dan lainnya. Semisal contoh, wallet dibuat pertama kali dengan Electrum, kemudian diambil seed dan address yang akan digunakan tersebut setelah itu uninstall wallet Electrum sehingga tidak ada interaksi transaksi keluar dalam kurun waktu tertentu yang melibatkan wallet tersebut. Sebelumnya ketika saya mencoba membuat wallet multi signature dengan menggabungkan Electrum dan Trezor T dengan Electrum dan Ledger Nano X ( Multi-Signature Wallet using the Electrum and the Hardware Wallet), bahkan di board luar sampai ada yang menyatakan seperti berikut: -snip-

Sehingga jika mau update firmware yang Seed-nya misal berada tidak dalam 1 tempat penyimpanan yang aksesnya semakin ribet tentu harus mikir beberapa kali.
Bagi yang menerapkan metode ini, setidaknya mesti dibuat juga rencana untuk memeriksa update firmware dari hardware wallet-nya misalkan dalam kurun waktu tertentu. Karena bagaimanapun juga hardware wallet membutuhkan software sebagai penunjangnya termasuk diantaranya firmware untuk kelangsungan penggunaan hardware wallet tersebut juga. Contoh Cobo Vault, setahu saya sudah tidak bisa mendapat firmware terbaru lagi meskipun sekarang sudah beralih menjadi Keystone, namun saya belum tahu persis apakah user Cobo vault masih bisa menggunakan HW mereka atau tidak. Ini yang dimaksud Mobile Banking di OP apakah aplikasi yang dikeluarkan oleh Bank atau lebih ke penamaan lain untuk Wallet aset kripto? Kalau definisi yang dimaksud adalah yang pertama, maka eksplorer mana yang bisa digunakan untuk cek saldo pada rekening bank tersebut? Kalau region akun Apple yang logged in diubah apakah marketplacenya juga bakal berubah om? Ane pernah mengubah registrasi/lokasi ane ke China untuk menginstall/login app di Macbook ane, tapi ga pernah nyoba di HP iOS. Kalaupun bisa, bakal ribet juga untuk update dan login, belum juga bisa berdampak ke penggunaan apps lain yang mungkin lebih penting dari dompet Bitcoin. Kecuali VPN yang dipakai bisa selektif hanya aktif untuk satu atau beberapa apps saja.
Setahu saya jika iPhone nya sudah masuk Indonesia, mau tidak mau imei nya harus sudah terregistrasi (untuk iPhone baru) terlepas itu awalnya beli dari app store luar negeri sekalipun. Karena jika tidak, maka sinyal seluler setahu saya tidak akan muncul atau diblokir. Dengan kata lain untuk iPhone tidak bisa semudah di MacBook yang bisa saja ketika install OS nya untuk region kita memilih yang luar negeri. Jadi AppStore yang ada tentunya versi Indonesia, dalam hal ini wallet Bitpay tetap tidak bisa digunakan. Dan memang akan ribet jadinya jika memaksa ingin aplikasi wallet tertentu tapi malah mengorbankan app lain yang bisa jadi lebih penting, dan lagi masih banyak opsi wallet Bitcoin lainnya yang tersedia seperti BlueWallet, Coinomi, sementara saya sendiri sudah lama tidak menggunakan wallet di smartphone untuk keperluan menyimpan aset kecuali aset BTC Lightning. I've seen some of the videos on the links the OP listed. The conclusion I got from several tests, especially for minor incidents that usually occur, such as falling or being splashed with water, is that the hardware wallet in the form of a smartcard is more durable. That's because it's not really a hardware wallet. It's a debit/credit card with hardware wallet functionalities. It's an unfair comparison from the start in weight, design, hardware components, everything. You don't throw a human and ladybug off of a balcony to see which one suffers the most damage. We now the winner beforehand. Yeah, it's not fair to compare it from one side only because there are still other features that can be compared. Each hardware wallet certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. It's pretty scary to see some hardware wallets like the Trezor One being deliberately tested by being hit with a hard object like a hammer. I haven't seen anyone test the Trezor T like in the video link in the OP.
Looks fine to me, which leads to the conclusion that you know how to take care of your belongings. And I did not want to test my Trezor T by hitting it with a hammer or poking it with a screwdriver because you can guess the results. |

If I'm looking at the nice History tab with all transactions - to top line of the rightmost column, named "Balance", is how much BTC I have in my wallet. Also, down at the bottom in the "status bar" there's my BTC balance too (and conversion to fiat).
But it's misleading. Though called "Balance" it is not my balance at all as it is missing amounts in change addresses.
How do I get it to be the true actual balance of my wallet?
The balance in the receiving and change address is your asset, and the amount of balance information is shown at the bottom left of the wallet window. You can use all the existing balances at the receiving or changed address. Receiving addresses are the ones you hand out to people who want to send you money. It is best to get a receive address from the receive tab. You can also set a label there and save it so that when you receive money to that address the label shows up on the history tab.
Change addresses are used internally by electrum to send change back to your wallet. You could still give out a change address and receive bitcoin but it's better to just go with the flow and use receive addresses instead.
Meanwhile, if you are uncomfortable using the receiving address, you can disable it in the Preferences of Electrum; uncheck the Use change addresses option on the Transactions tab.  |

The idea to test hardware wallets for durability isn't bad in itself. But I don't agree with the notion that a hardware wallet is supposed to be designed to survive fires, water, crashing buildings, and the like. I don't expect that of my laptops, my phones, or my hardware wallets.
I even keep the Trezor T and Ledger Nano X in a safe box (the Ledger Nano X is more often used and rarely stored in the box) with water and fire resistance because the main feature of the two hardware wallets is not to be resistant to it all. I wonder how long will hardware wallets, such as ledger, last.
For the time being I favour a non custodial wallet, pc and/or Phone based.

As far as I know, hardware wallets like Ledger Nano X, in terms of battery, will only last a few years (on their website, it says about five years). But of course, it depends on how the user uses it, where it is stored and other factors, including the quality of the product itself. But what's more important than that is how you can keep the seed phrase safe and use it to recover to another wallet when whatever hardware wallet you are using is not functioning. The reason being that SSD has a limited lifespan and I've lost a fair share of flashdrives due whatever mishap.
Regarding the SSD or hard drive installed on the computer, I usually use the time machine (macOS) feature to back up data on another hard drive. So that when an error or damage occurs on the main SSD, I can recover it from the backup hard drive. You might be able to try some backup software that supports the OS you are using. |

-snip-As far as I'm aware Beli Bitcoin is the only official reseller available in Indonesia. They are available at popular marketplaces but there is no way you can use your Bitcoin to pay them. I assume because it is illegal to pay stuff with Bitcoin, so you're out of luck if you don't want to use fiat. You can pay someone with Bitcoin to buy and delivers it to you I guess if that is a reasonable alternative for you. Try to make a post on the local board and see if anyone is can help you do that. In the past, Beli-Bitcoin did not sell one Ledger Nano X for retail. So you have to buy a certain minimum amount. Of course, the price can be lower than other sellers. If it's for personal use only, some hardware wallets can be resold or invite some friends to buy collectively (although this might be a little difficult). Now I see they accept purchases even if it's one pcs. But the selling price is higher than at ledger.com. However, as mentioned above, in Indonesia, Bitcoin is not allowed to be used as a means of payment. So if you buy from an official distributor, they don't accept payments with Bitcoin. |

I'm from Indonesia too. I buy Nano X at a local marketplace with a good reputation. I have no experience buying directly from the official Ledger site and don't know if buying using Bitcoin will cause problems when dealing with taxes on imported goods.
It seems that the " Crypto.com Pay" option is also available [IIRC, it doesn't have any limits for Indonesians, but do some research before using it]: As mentioned earlier, Bitpay wallet is not available in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Crypto.com application, as far as I know, is available for Indonesian users. But at Ledger, there is no payment option using it for the Indonesian region.  |
