1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LN+segwit vs big blocks, levels of centralization. on: April 29, 2017, 01:45:45 PM
LN is currently aiming at 60$

so there is your micropayment upper limit  Wink

I believe as long as on-chain transactions over 0.05-0.1 BTC are affordable (fee no more than 1/10 %), there is no need for larger blocks

I always ask this question:  why not let the free market decide?  Why not give users uninhibited access* to both on-chain and off-chain solutions
and let the LN hubs and the miners compete for the fees?   I say we should.  I say if smaller transactions become problematic on-chain, they will become naturally slower
to confirm and more expensive on their own...and there is no need to force miners or users to behave a certain way for the good of the network.

* meaning any blocksize limits must be well beyond market demand for space

The market has already decided: Majority of nodes support Core software (and segwit ready Core software). Most people running services already are 75%+ pro segwit and 70% are rejecting BU. Futures in bitfinex for BU dumped below $200... what else do you need?

If people really wanted what you want, they would use an altcoin that has those features.
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RLC] iEx.ec blockchain-based distributed cloud announces its Crowdsale on: April 28, 2017, 11:33:17 PM
You got my interest with this but im going to need more to invest:

1) What are the differences from this project compared to Golem? Because this sounds like Golem. What does this that Golem can never do? and what can Golem do that this can never do?

2) What is the final total supply?

3) Is there any inflation?

4) Is there anything that holders can do to get more coins? in the form of masternodes, mining, dividends, whatever

Lets get those basics cleared out.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: April 28, 2017, 10:21:59 PM
Im looking forward Fernando Alonso's Indycar venture. He has been scammed again by his team delivering him a car that looks great, but performs like a GP car. So he got tired of the bullshit and now he's going to try to achieve things outside of Formula 1. Im looking forward to this more than F1. Alonso is one of the best pilots if not the best in F1 and he is not performing due the car.
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PoSW may be the rare opportunity to get rich by entering early on a coin on: April 28, 2017, 03:37:47 PM
The countdown for the dividends has begun:

http://posw.io/

The dividends get paid with the revenue the site makes, to incentivize people to hodl the coin, without having to resort to a limited deflationary supply like bitcoin.

Remember to have your coins in your PoSW wallet, either the windows client or at the poswallet.com wallet, but remember if your coins are at the exchange either in open orders or not, you will get paid. So to guarantee you get paid just put them to stake.

There's alot of FUD going on for this coin order to crush the price so whales obtain more dividends, so be warned.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 211: Miocic vs Dos Santos info and Prediction Thread on: April 28, 2017, 02:45:35 PM
Miocic vs Dos Santos for me is a good fight and it can go either way. Maybe Junior Dos Santos has been in so many fights, but I still believed he still have some in this tank. Although Miocic has improved a lot, Junior Dos Santos I believed some something to proved that he still got it. My bet JDS.

I'm also eager to watch  Frankie Edgar vs. Yair Rodriguez. Yair is one of  the rising star in the UFC but I think I have to go with Frankie Edgar here. Frankie is still a legend for me and I love watching his in and out movement. This fight will end in a decision, but this time it is Frankie's hand who is gonna be raised. My bet Frankie Edgar.

Would you make a bet for JDS at these present odds given? They look very low now especially if you saw how high they were when the betting opened.

Im pretty sure that Junior Dos Santos is going to lose, so im not going to spend any money on this bet, you must say "buy why, go with Miocic". Well, even if in my opinion this is an easy win for Miocic, im not going to risk it, JDS got too much experience, he may be out of shape and out of his prime but he is thought and may get a lucky night and defeat Miocic.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spotify aquires blockchain startup on: April 27, 2017, 03:23:06 PM
Spotify aquires startup  Mediachain. Link: https://venturebeat.com/2017/04/26/spotify-acquires-mediachain-to-develop-blockchain-technology-that-matches-royalties-with-rightsowners/

Who is Mediachain ? Well, they are a startup build on top of ethereum http://www.mediachain.io/

Many companies tinker with blockchain technology today, probably the top 20 crypto projects at some point were experimented on, but most projects seem to build important things on top of ETH (ethereum), wether is on public chain, private chain, or a public-private chain. Any thoughts ?

Should have bought yesterday, I knew it would pump, investors love this sort of hype. Now it looks like the hype is calming down so i'll wait for the correction to happen to get an at least mid term ETH position. Any new exciting news on the horizon that could make the price pump anytime soon??
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antbleed: A remote shutdown backdoor in antminers on: April 27, 2017, 02:00:56 PM

Lmao. This pretty much invalidates anything jonald the troll says from now on. The blocksize obsessed trolls/paid shills can't see beyond what number the blocksize has.
A guy has a mining monopoly capable of killing the network? Who cares, just raise the blocksize!!
Those trolls should be banned.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning developers already moving from BTC to LTC on: April 26, 2017, 02:18:28 PM
but in real life alternative to BTC is ETH not LTC at all. ETH have 16s blocks not that slow 2.5min Cheesy hahaha...
ETH also have better volume - in LTC in charge ar 12 miners in ETH Vitalik that is not that big diffrence at all

and have many scam icos on chain too to pump it price while LTC hmm noooothing really interesting besides it have ported BTC segwit. Without segwit noone would ever pump LTC.

PS: ETH will also have its LN (Raiden) I don't see any advantage of LTC over ETH as alternative to BTC.

Anyone who values what Bitcoin stands for would not make the switch to ETH. It may have a great future. It also has already shat and pissed all over itself.

ETH may be a good short to medium term speculative move before the smart contract's bubble bursts. Other than that, BTC (and now, LTC too) are the good long term hands in crypto. Everything else is a gamble where you may or not make a lot of money.

LTC is undervalued as long as BTC has no way to get segwit enabled.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 211: Miocic vs Dos Santos info and Prediction Thread on: April 26, 2017, 01:36:10 PM
I think Junior Dos Santos is past his prime so is Fabricio Werdum, they have recieved too many hits to he head and need to retire. Miocic has improved a lot in the past years in his technique, his genetics make him a total beast, he will be a thought match an I think he will win JDS and continue reining the division with an Overeem that is also past his prime and definitely can't fight without steroids at top level.
The heavy weight division is filled with people who are really old,the average age is above 35 years and in the future if they could not find any real talents then it will be a boring division and that will be the case with light heavy weight division too as some of the top fighters have moved on to Bellator and with the retirement of Anthony Johnson the division has become shallow.

I think Stefan "Skyscraper" Struve can become a dominant force in the heavyweight UFC division. He has insane height, reach, and power, he needs to put work in his technique to use physical superiority over the rest, otherwise he will be a useless lanky easy target.

the only good prospect at HW is Francis Ngannou prob will be champ soon

my pics

Stipe Miocic
Joanna Jędrzejczyk
Demian Maia
Yair Rodríguez
Henry Cejudo
Eddie Alvarez

Francis Ngannou is a solid competitor but he hasn't shown yet enough to become a champion imo, but yeah, considering Daniel Cormier will ignore anyone that isn't Jon Bones Jones at this point since he has beaten everyone else, Francis has no shot against the best HW fighters. The best fight I can see in his portfolio is beating an out of prime Arlovski.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What happened to battlecoin.org? on: April 26, 2017, 12:47:43 AM
I tried it and nothing works. It doesn't show the replays of previous games and if you start a room nobody joins.
Some game rooms have error message blinking, what's that about?
The project looks nice, very old school console style, shame it ended up like this.

Yes the layout was fantastic, nice art. I think the servers might be down, find one that works, if no one works try a single player game (im not sure if you could do this).

I've looked at the chat and there's still people playing, recent logs.

The development is abandoned as I said, anyone can buy the site and continue developing it.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PoSW may be the rare opportunity to get rich by entering early on a coin on: April 25, 2017, 06:00:56 PM
I can't see that the pumping has already started, this is a group pumping take your profit and run, you don't want to be a bag holder like Gulden. it is now on the top 100 coins

wrong. this is a pivx type opportunity

obvious buy and hold for a couple months

This is not revelant to talk about the total coin supply to estimate a coin rise. This is typical from shitcoins. According to me it can at most just be useful to get more detailed predictions, but basing it all on it is not leading you to good estimations.

Did you even take the time to read my post? I explained why PoSW offers a service that is actually useful for the common person wanted to get involved in crypto. People love making some beer money on the internet and getting coins on faucets and staking hundreds of them at the same time is a cool way to get started. Also speculators that don't intend to hold PoS coins for a long time now they have a all-in-one wallet where they can stake without having to download tons of blockchains. It offers an actual service, to opposed to PIVX. Who cares about PIVX? it has no actual usage. Brings nothing new. Yet, it pumped to $2 with an higher circulating coin supply.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / What happened to battlecoin.org? on: April 25, 2017, 02:59:56 PM
www.battlecoin.org

Anyone remembers this one? It was the best game ever in bitcoin, fun matches with 4 players, winner-takes-it-all system, very simple. Needed to improve the lag to become more playable but the idea was great. What we have now is a stagnant project with no updates and no new users, very sad to see.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading of LTC, ETC and other altcoins might be halted in China on: April 25, 2017, 02:11:39 PM
You guys need to check the news more often, it just got confirmed as fake news. China is spreading FUD to cause panic so inside traders can buy a lot of cheap LTC before it goes to the moon after segwit and coinbase news become official:

1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / China spreads fake news about halting LTC and ETH withdraws to buy cheap LTC on: April 25, 2017, 01:28:13 PM
It's confirmed now:

https://twitter.com/cnLedger/status/856826710314045441

They all know Litecoin will pump hard and will never stop going up as long as Bitcoin cannot scale, so they want to get in as cheap as possible before segwit locks in and Coinbase news become official too. Don't fall for the FUD, they will use all tactics possible to buy cheap BTC from you.
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The impossible has been reached: LTC has 100% SW support! Can BTC ever do it? on: April 24, 2017, 06:53:51 PM
With ViaBTC on board, LTC will have 100% support from miners in this activation period.

Amazing! I thought I would never live to see such a moment.

Now, the question is, can BTC ever reach enough consensus to make it happen? Is UASF really the only way? Do we really want to UASF?

There are so many questions and LTC segwit has a big direct impact in the BTC ecosystem. The price will eventually react positively to the new dimension of possibilities unlocked in LTC.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC is 74.86/75% to segwit but price is decreasing? on: April 24, 2017, 06:34:12 PM
Price is probably at the top for now.
Everyone is already reacting to the news so I doubt it will go any higher.
I predict price to dip a bit and then stay flat for a while. Could definitely go higher in the future, though.

People will doubt miners until the last minute. Not until segwit is actually activated it will pump higher. How many hours remaining for segwit? Im tempted to sell now, buy on a possible dip before it locks in, and buy before the news of "segwit activated in litecoin" officially hit worldwide press and price explodes.
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PoSW may be the rare opportunity to get rich by entering early on a coin on: April 24, 2017, 03:43:24 PM
If the devs dump this coin they are morons and the community will revive it within the week.

This has the potential to be the next polo with its own tradable currency that returns dividends.

The monthly statements from April will show that there is huge benefit for them to maintain this coin and continue its development.

Just so any bias is known I do have a small amount of posw (<10000)

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

I would worry not about any exit scams, they benefit more by acting accordingly and racking up all the passive income from millions of coins being staked and running masternodes. Also, consider this coin has it's own exchnge with #1 volume for the coin, which means there are no fears of it disappearing due it getting delisted from other exchanges.

We are seeing a dip, which means is a good opportunity to enter anywhere from 15k-10k before growth continues.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unlimited and Segwit are both terrible ideas on: April 24, 2017, 02:42:46 PM
The price of LTC pumped because it was already rock bottom and it was too easy to pump from the ground, but LTC will not need scaling for years, so watch the price of LTC not go significantly higher as it has no real use. Speculators can only pump so much. LTC has no safe haven status, it has nothing to lose.

BTC will dump if either Unlimited or Segwit is activated, because uncertainty they will bring. BTC has everything to lose, its safe haven status is its only advantage.

BTC users will see the need for LTC with segwit + LN once they realize paying the high BTC fees for everyday transactions is stupid when you can just buy a bunch of LTC and use them instead. Sooner or later LTC will shine to an ATH because BTC will never reach mainstream usage status. LTC is the only altcoin that will be backed by the good Bitcoin Core code armed with segwit and lightning networks. If you still don't see how LTC is undervalued once segwit kicks in you are stupid.
1259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unlimited and Segwit are both terrible ideas on: April 24, 2017, 02:23:34 PM
We all know why Unlimited blocks are a bad idea.

A set of articles to learn why Segwit too is a terrible idea:
https://medium.com/@SegWit/segwit-resources-6b7432b42b1e

The only competitive advantage of Bitcoin is its safe haven status, gold standard of cryptocurrency. Unlimited blocks and Segwit both will bring too much uncertainty and will remove the safe haven status from Bitcoin. Investors will run to other coins because those will offer the same level of (un)safety as Segwit/Unlimited Bitcoin, but compared to Segwit/Unlimited Bitcoin these altcoins are more advanced technologically.

Bitcoin should be left alone as a crypto reserve and crypto settlement network, as is, only bugfixes should be done on it. Do not let the only advantage that Bitcoin has be taken away with protocol upgrades of any kind, they will ensure Bitcoin's demise if they are allowed to happen. And I don't care how much testing goes into Unlimited, Segwit, whatever. This will not be the old Bitcoin, and it's bad bad bad, Bitcoin as an investment class will evaporate. Let them developers play with altcoins, there is a ****load of them to show their skills. Leave Bitcoin alone.

Well, we are about to get segregated witness on Litecoin via mining consensus, so no UASF drama. The price will pump, that's for sure, but most importantly, we will get to see segwit in all it's glory in a real life scenario instead of testnet only. We'll see the advancements in lightning networks too. So as LTC keeps going up in price and in usefulness without any technological disasters, proving segwit to be safe and generally beneficial, how will anyone still be anti-segwit with a straight face?
