I was expecting a target of 400+ when I saw both the Indian opening pair hammering the Kiwi bowlers. As usual the Indian middle order and to an extent the lower middle order again failed to utilize the start given by the openers. Only because of Hardik & Thakur that India was able to give a target of 389 runs. Again disappointed by the performance of Kiwi bowlers.

You can't beat Djoković in his game which De Minaur proved today. One of the better movers and counter punchers on tour was scrambling to get anything in the match against Djoković. Only way you can win against Djoković in form is to shoot trough him. Rublev on his day can do that and I actually think he could be a test for Djoković, problem is Rublev has troubles of keeping his levels high and once Djoković enters his head it will be all over. Just hoping Rublev will open strong and give us the match and maybe some juicy odds on Djoković. It would be great to see Rublev actually win the tournament, he is such a hard worker and is very hard on himself. His weakness I think is is mental ability....although he showed strong character to come back in that final set today and win....even with a bit of luck with a net ball! First he has to get past Djokovic on Wednesday Of course Djokovic knows all this and will be using it against him for sure. When someone other than Djokovic wins the title the tournament become more interesting. In the present scenario it is really hard for anyone to compete against Djokovic and win the title. i read that the stampede started when ticket collectors turned back fans who had been sold fake tickets by some scammers, if it's true i would say it's the fans fault, if you're ticket is fake you can't come in, and organisers can't prevent anything when a whole crowd decides to go nuts and break the rules. If there is enough security, I do not think ticketless fans will overpower the security. Besides the main job of security is to control the masses inside and outside the vicinity so having a group of aggressive people to overrun the situation means the security isn't capable. Also, the organizer failed to size up the possible number of crowd while the security fail to identify the process of the situation not getting under their control. There might be lack of security as well as corruption as fake tickets were into circulation. After a long this is a bad incident, also people can't be controlled beyond limits when there is no proper planning. The security system will be at the ratio of 2:50 which isn't enough to handle pressure situation. |
