1321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Pure Bitcoin Speculation Dead by 2023? on: January 02, 2023, 11:41:04 PM
This is why I don't always believe in what the people that only know the theory knowledge about cryptocurrency say. Speculation was basically an act of predicting or guessing the market's possible next or future price and no matter what he used to back up his claim speculation can never be separated from the Bitcoin market because its volatility in nature has already made it a subject of speculation.
Let's use gold as an example. Despite it, the strongness of its industry and global adoption of its market gold is still speculated.
Regarding speculation, I think as long as the BTC community is still strong and they still believe in the value of Bitcoin we don't have to worry. Because it is the best fuel of Bitcoin and crypto. Although adoption or whatever is done for the near future speculation will remain. Unless Bitcoin becomes a stable asset.
The Bitcoin community is stronger than how we think if not when the SEC planned to FUD the market in the year 2016 we won't have seen what is called BTC.
Having said that, Bitcoin may be volatile in nature but there's no asset in the world that's stable in price and this is the reason speculation can never be separated from every asset market.
[/quote]
Even at that time period the community is strong. Think of the present situation. The number of users and the market available have increased drastically. To destroy bitcoin is not gonna happen. The market being volatile is the best part and no asset have got high volatility as cryptocurrencies. It is high risk asset than the stocks and other forms of investment. The market by development is speculative.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: January 02, 2023, 11:35:44 PM
every investment is the responsibility of each and they themselves will bear the risk and we as people who know these investors are enough to tell the truth about the meme coin hype that has ended, but if they still believe in what he thinks, so be it. because he has the right to choose where they dare to take risks when investing in meme coins.

and I also have never invested in any meme coin. because for me there is still something that is more profitable and has more value in the future in the coin that I have chosen and am currently holding.
Not investing in any memecoin is a smart move, not many people would be smart enough to stay away from the latest hypes and for a while memecoins were the biggest hype of the crypto world and too many people got into it.

People who have absolutely no idea about crypto got into dogecoin for a while, and not like they lost money neither, they made a lot of profit from it when the time came and that caused them to believe in it a lot more. The ones that sold and took their profit are happy and they think they did the right thing, and if they stayed in profit then they really did do the right thing. But many that kept on holding lost most of their money and that's a trouble for the market.
There are successful people out of investment on memecoins. A market shouldn't be of a same product, it needs to provide variety to its users. One such variety in cryptocurrency is the memecoins. These are for short term, if lucky you'll be profiting and if not you just need to ignore. Dogecoin to be used by Elon Musk might happen, but this isn't gonna make big push in the market.
1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Memecoin and utility - impossible or next stage of crypto development on: January 02, 2023, 11:31:55 PM
If you talk of the utility of memecoins, it is very rare to see something perfect. Same time it is possible to see few of the memecoins having its usage on some needs. The most used being the dogecoin and Shiba. Dogecoin have got its history, but Shiba reached the market and the hype have good return. Further the team along with the community worked on development and now Shiba is used widely on different needs.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: January 02, 2023, 11:00:43 PM
Majority were in favour of bitcoin for what it have come across over the years. Next to bitcoin we can add a big list of altcoins, but the recent issues with different altcoins have kept people away from prioritising altcoins for the high profitability.

In all market condition it is good to buy altcoins that are very minimal in value, because if lucky the user gets good return. If not, the investment won't hurt as we'll be able to receive a good volume of tokens for small amount.
1325  Other / Archival / Re: Long-term Bitcoin accumulation continues on: January 02, 2023, 10:55:10 PM
As much as people may claim that 2022 was a disappointing year for cryptocurrencies, I beg to differ. I'm not actively purchasing Bitcoin, but I'm saving each signature campaign payment I receive, which is pretty much the same thing.
(...)
Bear market is perfect for accumulation by buying or by saving from your signature campaign payment. Imagine that now we can receive our payments in bitcoin with 3 times more than when Bitcoin was about $60,000. It is a great time for working and saving in 2022 and 2023.
(...)
This is already proven in every cycle. Just like before the 2019-2022 days when we see a very long period of a bear market and we saw multiple dumps happening the Bitcoin. And that's the time I keep buying Bitcoin at cheap prices.
I didn't regret it before, and that's why this 2023 - 2024, I'm looking forward to doing it again and accumulating Bitcoins at low prices.
Very long term of bitcoin bear market, but there is regular price fluctuation happening. We need to act wise and make use of the fluctuation. It is time to accumulate as much possible, and never intend to wait for the low bottom and invest. Because, we don't know what is the low bottom. In the event of waiting to invest at the bottom we'll miss opportunity. Good is to do DCA.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 02, 2023, 10:49:01 PM
New approach and fresh squad but they still neglected Prithvi Shaw in T-20 tho.
He has proven in domestic cricket that he has the ability to score runs at a good rate but still the selectors have neglected him for both T20 & ODI series with Srilanka. I guess they are prefer players who have done well in IPL and are not considering those who have done good in domestic. Last IPL I do not remember Shaw doing good.
The kind of cricket Prithvi playing in the last 2-3 years (domestic +IPL). His name should be on the T-20 team's roaster every single time. He didn't make many runs in the last IPL but his strike rate is way too good (average of 28 with 150 SR) and he's an opener, miles ahead of Rohit/KL/Kishan as far as attacking cricket goes.
Average does matter but SR is more important in T-20 and the way T-20 cricket is evolving, you can't afford to bring 3-4 players in the team with 40-50 averages + 130 SR. At best you can have only 1 anchor in the team.

I believe it is time for Prithvi Shaw to be given a chance. As far as I am concerned, I believe this guy is doing well at the moment, and he has also proven his worth in recent times. In any case, I was quite surprised to learn that he did not get any chance in the upcoming Sri Lanka series that is going to take place.

There is also another thing that is always perceived to be more significant in T-20 cricket than in regular cricket, and that is the strike rate. Although 130 strike rate is actually very favorable, so I have no idea why he didn't get the chance that he deserved, as 130 strike rate is actually very positive.
We see it in one way, but the cricket board looks the same thing in different ways. Prithvi Shaw is good with his performance, but there is no one to support him. The selection committee has to pick his name, but the politics might've denied him the opportunity. Until the start of the match it is possible to make changes to the squad. Lets wait and see who are all getting into the match.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 02, 2023, 10:44:11 PM
If that was your won stand, then so be it. Mind your own business and don't bother with other people who prefer to gamble at casino games instead. No time is being wasted as these people really prefer online casinos instead of sports betting. Not all do have an interest in sports betting.

About your question, there are lots to choose from; Duelbits, Stake, Sportbets - you can refer to their respective ANN threads for discussions.

Goodluck with your betting with that decent capital. Prove to us that sports betting for you is sure money.
For users who have got good knowledge about different sports it is good to go with sports betting. People have got different preference. Most of the time people switch between sports betting and caisno games for specific reasons. The prime reason for which this happens is the immediate settlement. With sports betting it requires more time whereas the same won't happen with casino games.

As said it is our choice to go with rather than considering someone's choice just because it have given the convenience and the increased winning.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 02, 2023, 10:31:04 PM
This is actually what makes gambling a funny activity. It's the sensations and feelings you get while you play whether you lose or win, happy or frustrated.. However, frustration should be temporary and don't last for long otherwise gambling won't be funny anymore and you may start making bad decisions like trying to chase losses.
Somehow I never found this gambling funny. I've always been serious about gambling, but of course I've also had a lot of fun. Frustration and chasing losses are bad for those who gamble responsibly, but both feelings are always there for those who are addicted.

Oh wait, I'm an addict too and sometimes I get upset over losing but it seems like that feeling only lasts for a few minutes before I do anything else.  Wink
If we've understood about gambling in the right way we'll console ourselves not to get upset or frustrated on losing. When I was new to gambling I've cried for days with the doors locked. Those are days when my mind had a thought we'll win out of gambling and the loss wasn't acceptable. Slowly I understood the reality and got adopted to the situation.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing national lottery smart or waste of time? on: January 01, 2023, 08:58:06 PM
I always believe that lottery is made by the government to profit, or fund some projects, or charities.  There is two stance I have here.

1.  If the proceeds of the lottery profit goes to the right party such as economy development or charity support fund then I will say, it is a smart move of soliciting its citizen to support the government projects and acts of kindness and in return reward the lucky winner of life changing aount.

2.  If the lottery profit fund goes to the pocket of the corrupt officials then i can say it is a waste of time.
Agreed, in my country particular state have got national lottery. The fund is being used for the development of medical infrastructure and for the cancer patients. Everything is transparent and no corruption in the fund. Some interesting incidents happen often, recently an person aged 80+ won the lottery and the thing is that he had saved each and every lottery he had bought regularly till date. What he have spend on buying the lottery tickets till date is something close to his winning money.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: January 01, 2023, 08:53:07 PM
For people who are very competitive, gambling is never for fun.
It is either they win or win. Before you know it, pour all their emotions into it.
When they lose, their day is ruined. They become passive aggressive and will most likely transfer that aggression. I just feel that not everyone has the capacity to gamble for fun.
Absolutely true, the behavior of a gambler should have towards gambling when it is considered as fun may be different from that when the gambler takes it seriously. When a gambler loses, he or she will focus on that loss and want to gamble more with the goal of getting it back which would have no way of being considered as fun. In my opinion, a gambler can control himself after losing, he can really consider gambling as fun. It is usually a difficult task which is not possible for the most of the gamblers.
Gambling can be considered as fun by a very small percentage of gamblers. These gamblers never mind about the win/loss as they've got more to spend. Majority of the gamblers were with the focus of multiplying what is being deposited. When they weren't able to do it, gamblers just get emotionally down and look for the ways to recover. Here very few succeed whereas the majority loss more and more.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 01, 2023, 08:49:08 PM
Pakistan's contribution in the first test was not good at all. But some of their batsmen managed to hold wickets on the pitch to draw the match at the last stage. Pakistan could not be satisfied with the current performance of the team. They want to ensure victory in the next match but is it easy? While New Zealand have been in great form in recent times, their players have been performing admirably. Their only thought is to winning the upcoming match. Because by winning the match, the series will be won in favor of any team. Therefore, every team will enter the field with utmost importance in the upcoming test.
Agreed, the focus will be to win the match. For Pakistan this will be a pressure as they're in the home ground. If the first match have been won by New Zealand, now they could've felt a lot. By their luck they were able to draw the match which was supposed to be an easy win for New Zealand.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: January 01, 2023, 08:45:20 PM
Personally, I prefer higher odds to win, but smaller winnings, than low odds but big winnings. In my opinion the lottery game has too negligible a chance of being involved.

A few years ago I stopped buying lottery tickets, although I used to buy them from time to time. There were times when I won, but it was ridiculous money, which barely paid back the tickets I bought.
...

The same here. As much as I understand the appeal of lotteries and why people play them, but for me it's all about the odds (maybe with the exception of some charitable lotteries/raffles with funds going to a good cause).

I've started a separate topic with a poll relating to national lotteries, if anyone's interested and want to vote and contribute to the discussion, you can find it >here<

I used to bet with lower odds before but I didn't think it was all worth it. When I tried betting with higher odds I had a better hope of winning. Well, we all have different preferences based on the risk that we could take and the target profit that we want to gain. Some gamblers prefer to win big rewards despite the higher risk but what important is we could handle things as well as our emotions wisely.
What does this mean, maybe in the next match going with the higher odds will loss. Because, it is not about the odds it is about the luck. Risk is part of gambling, and without risking it is impossible to experience the outcome of gambling. One thing important is the emotional control, whether we're on the winning/losing streak we should have the emotional control. Only then we were able to have good gambling experience amidst the loss/win.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: January 01, 2023, 08:40:57 PM
If you have a look at the scam accusation section, you will find that no casino has a good reputation there. Each and every casino which has their ANN thread here, has at least one complaint against them; sometimes confiscated funds, delayed withdrawal, not paying the winning, freezing account etc. Why this is the principal of all the casinos? Why they can't operate without having any issues? They always do this shit; who knows what has been done with people who don't know how to deal with such a casino. Can you show me a thread that never had any reputation issues on this forum?

Well, not to be a victim blamer or anything, but you have to take some of these accusations with a grain of salt.  I'm aware of at least one active member of this community, who is in the default trust network that lies about these sorts of accusations to try and extort money from projects here.  Of course the casinos seem to be the easiest targets because some of them may be willing to pay off troublemakers.  At least the smaller ones trying to establish reputations.  So if you come across someone frequently complaining about casinos, take a moment to consider if all the casinos are the problem, or if it's the user...
This is the reality, people always look for a way to make money. Whats been said had been tried by many users. They just make compliant over every casino without any proof. Having some acquisition truly disturb the casino and these people demand with the gambling platform for the removal of the thread. We the users need the understanding and clearly go through the thread to know the reality behind the acquisition
1334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino bonus is it worth it? on: January 01, 2023, 08:36:34 PM
Casinos put wagering requirement for players to withdraw their prizes in promotions because they knew if they won't, people will just create multiple accounts to get as much money as they could and want, due to the system's shortcoming. Meanwhile, KYC was also made to avoid multiple accounts as well and to avoid abusing the campaigns and bonuses intended for new players.

Not all promotions comes with wagering requirement, promotions such as wagering contest, vip reward, multiplier contest, or some other promotions has no wagering requirement. Only promotions such as deposit bonus, no deposit bonus or free spins bonus comes with wagering requirement. Coming up to KYC, we should never worry about it as long as we do not do something against the terms.
yes, that is true. we don't need to be afraid when asked by KYC to take advantage of promotional bonuses as long as we don't abuse these promotions. but some fraudsters in gambling sometimes they force themselves to do KYC just for the sake of a deposit bonus to get profits and take advantage of the bonus.
The deposit bonuses always have the wagering requirements, so it is not an easy winning one. Bonuses were really important and a must one with gambling, because gamblers easily loss their funds and it is the bonuses that keep them little pacified. Last month most of the Stake users have received two monthly which is really big and the Christmas Days went good out of it.
1335  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your takes on revenge gambling? on: January 01, 2023, 08:32:58 PM
When it comes to gambling, the addiction happens when you expect good winning and loss is the end result. The lookup for recovering the loss is the major reason, another thing is the greed. Even when you're winning good the mind never accepts, but it moves forward with big bets where loss happens easily. Later the recovery turns to be difficult and look for sources where we need to deposit big money to recover the big loss. So, revenge gambling shouldn't be followed.
1336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 01, 2023, 08:28:44 PM

Any of you guys uses the responsible gambling feature? If so, what do you think about it? Is it helpful or does it only gives you a sense of control

i don't know what is the responsible gambling feature.
i am very interest to know how it is works,
bcoz i have a bit gambling addiction btw i am not experienced gamblers provably i lost lots of money in gambling because i haven’t any control,
can you tell me how to use this feature?

Through this feature one can self exclude or they can limit the spending. This is like having speed imitation on vehicles. We were able to set speed limit and the vehicle can't move beyond the speed set by the user. Here the same applies with gambling. We can set our limits and beyond that user won't be able to spend.
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: January 01, 2023, 08:21:57 PM

He deserves such an award because he played vital roles that made Argentina win the world cup. He didn't allow all the efforts of Argentina players to go in vain just like the goalkeeper of France who was not able to catch up most of the game. Martinez Emiliano deserved to be the best goalkeeper of the world cup.
There were other goalkeeper too who did so well during the world cup - although the players played so well. and at the last moment the whole burden in on the goalkeeper. luckily Martinez won.
Emiliano Martinez has played one of the roles behind Argentina's victory. He made a great save in the last minute of extra time. In view of which the game went to penalty shootout. And finally Argentina secured their dream final victory.
Martinez did the best and he's a key player for the winning of the World Cup. He had made big thing and for the same he should not hurt the opponent. During the prize distribution ceremony what he does is really bad. Same as that he did something worse when he's on the welcome rally. These activities could lower his game performance in the future.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers that don't understand basic gambling concepts. on: January 01, 2023, 08:18:02 PM
...
I am sure that some of those who think they understand these concepts but in reality do not will comment on this thread Grin.
...

We see that all the time... in many gambling-related threads. How many people who actively comment in the gambling section actually gamble? Even more interesting are people that make comments in poker threads, I guess most of them never played poker, or they played just freerolls.

Many people just talk, but when the time comes to stand behind what it's said many will just move away and pretend like it never happened. Welcome to the real world.
This is true, myself too doesn't have much idea about poker. My game is Dice and sports betting, also I didn't try to learn other games because I've fixed it is difficult. I know the basics, because when I was to end my entire funds I used to play on each and every game. Whats been said is true, first of all many doesn't know about different games available.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: December 30, 2022, 11:58:32 PM
1.Why are you making a forum thread about an event, that is about to happen after 4 years? Isn't it too early to discuss the World Cup 2026?
Why don't we discuss Euro 2024? Grin
2.I like the idea of the next World Cup tournaments being hosted by several countries, instead of one county. This will cut the costs and there won't be any unnecessary investments in new stadiums, which won't be used that much after the World Cup ends.
However, the distances in the USA, Canada and Mexico are quite big and the teams will have to travel a lot.

Well... it is true that still we have 3.5 years to go for the next edition (next world cup will be held during mid-2026). But the qualifier matches will be starting sometime soon, and especially with confederations such as CAF and AFC, there are multiple layers of qualifying tournaments. Therefore I don't find anything wrong with this thread being created at this point. Also, the tournament format is not finalized yet. We can discuss about the qualifiers and format until the tournament starts. Also, construction hasn't been completed for all the venues.

Even before the 2022 World Cup is over, the 2026 World Cup is being discussed, which suggests that the 2026 Football World Cup will be organized in a grand manner.
The involvement of three countries to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup might make it a grand one. However, what Qatar had made in this world cup push them to do better. Qatar have done the best of its ability that none thought about. The oil money and the proper planning help them achieve it and the government worked on it for years.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: December 30, 2022, 11:54:59 PM
Everyone says that they gamble for fun. The real fun when they were able to win and make some profit. Myself too have the same thoughts on gambling. Even when we start to play with the amount that we could afford to loss and end up empty it hurts and the mind thinks of way for recovery. So, fun is just a word but every gambler will have the vibe to make a win to enjoy.
