NO!!! NOT A GOOD POOL!!! It has over 50% of the network hashing power. Its obvious neither you, nor the pool operator cares about the future of DGC. I can't believe that site still takes registrations. It's crossing the border between reckless and malevolent. dgcepools stats currently according to its own page: Network hashrate: 1039.13 MH/s Pool hashrate: 583.94 MH/s Edit: Nothing personal, I'm just a dick and throwing things from up on my "Spread the hash" soapbox. (see previous page if confused, pg 172) I use multipool.in digitalcoin pool. Around 25 mhash right now. I also dont like to use pools that are over 50 percent with no regard to limiting at all. I think its reckless and an attractive website for devious people to focus on. |

Here would be a huge leap of innovation:
if they could so much as give you the choice of locking your account down to a single bitcoin address (or a predetermined set of addresses) so thieves who successfully break into an account can't clean it out. That would instantly wipe out all of the newbies who come to the forum complaining they've been robbed and told by mtgox support to file a police report.
I know, I know, that's extremely difficult, which is why my suggestion is more than a year old and hasn't been implemented. But adding Litecoin support is so much easier and will really be a new leap in innovation!
Casascius, could you point to a thread where you/anyone discussed a process "of locking your account down to a single bitcoin address" to be used by exchanges, to manage thefts issues. Its already utilized on several pools. Not a hard concept and works wonders. |

Honestly,
With block reward of 1-5 a 200k premine is fucking hilarious. It makes ever premine so far seem like chicken feed. Hell 200k @ 2.5 avg block reward is the same as almost 20 MILLiON premine of FTC.. Why do people not learn not to be so fucking greedy that they kill coins before they are even launched.
What are you gonna do with the premine? You going to offer a 10,000 block equivalent for a faucet and some shit exchange? What a fucking joke.

Mincoin was worse, and IDGAF if you want to argue all day that Mincoin wasnt a premine.. I dont actually care because it doesnt matter if you have a premine or superblocks at the start... a select few got a LOT of mincoin at the beginning.. i dont care if it was the OP or not. Superblocks are much worse than premining to pay bounties as long as you actually pay bounties. And I dont think he was trying to say that the coins would NEVER be sold EVER... he was more or less inferring that he will not sell the coins personally. Not claiming that this is correct or honest, because I don't know.. just pointing out theres much worse premine/superblock coins out there with Mincoin being the most obvious. Anyone else? -5mil |
