Question about the stake...

So its 10% annually. And it takes 10 days for the coins to mature... So does that mean that after 10 days, the coins I have put in my wallet will mature and give a 10% return? Then I have to wait 12 months for another 10% return?

Am I understanding this correctly?

Staking is not exactly like an annual interest at a bank. It is more like mining, but in this case staking an annual 10% means that you have to get 10% interest for your stakable coins within 365 days! So you won't get the 10% right at your first stake, but a fracture of it. If you open your locked wallet every month then you will have larges stakes for a few hours then you have to close the wallet and wait 10-30 days to do that again. So that I heard, this is one of the best method to get fine amount of stake...

I dont understand the logic behind this.

The other makes sense now though, thanks.

What is not making sense? Staking is there in pretty much every coin these days.. Its similar to forging in NXT but this is a lot better in terms of actual returns of the coin..

I mean I don't understand locking the wallet and waiting 10 days and unlocking it. It only makes sense to me to keep all the coins in an unencrypted wallet all the time to get the most out of staking.

thanks a lot james6546... now, i understand a bit... just a bit on how crypto currency works... i'm reading, processing so as to better understand every discussion posted here. and yes, there will be always a positive and negative side... but, for our coin (NOBL), personally, what i see is, it would be more on the positive side...

again, thanks a lot for enlightening me on PoS... this is "a knowledge on a day" for me...

Please everyone who is wondering what is PoS, how it will work for NOBL, what should I do, is PoS a bad idea... please come to Noble Stake and either edit or ask question with comment (Insert/Comment).

First time I've seen a google doc in live edit mode like that... pretty cool.

With a net hash @ or around 5gh/s there is no reason why this coin shouldn't be on many exchanges...

net hash @ a steady 3gh today. This is a good sign.

No reason for this coin not to make it to .0001BTC once it gets to a good exchange.

Rofo and other devs,

In keeping a close eye on the markets over the past few months it would seem to me that the feature that is almost guaranteed to skyrocket a coin is anonymity features. This has been the case with quite a few coins lately and there seems to be a huge demand for this from traders and miners.

Maybe there would be a way to incorporate this into the upcoming fork?

Question: How do we get coins out of "stake" to be "spendable?"

Anyone?

You have to wait till staked coins (the coins you get for staking) will be confirmed, after that all your coins will become spendable!

I understand that... What I'm asking is, in the wallet, in the "stake" field. I had 2000 or so coins. They just transferred randomly in there from the "spendable" field. Then I disconnected from the network for about an hour and when I reconnected they were no longer in "stake" anymore (they had went back to "spendable")

I understand we get a stake of coins based on how many we have but what determines how they go to and from spendable/stake in the wallet?

Ok, each coin has to be 24H old in your wallet, to reach stakeable stage. If your wallet is syncronized and open (not lock with password) then all the 24h old or older coins go to the stake field. When you lock your wallet, your coins go back to spendable field. If you staked a few coins then log off and start your wallet again 10-15 min later, your stake coins get confirmed so all your coins will be on spendable field again.

Sorry for the confusion, your stakeable coins will only be at the stake field when they are staking, actually geting some coins for them, and when the stake coins confirmed every coin will be spandable again.

Got it, makes sense now. Thanks!

Okay so I have 20,000+ XGR that are older than 24h.... my wallet is not encrypted... but no coins are showing up as STAKE. They are all SPENDABLE. The stake symbol says 2 hours until I earn a reward.

But by what you said, all those that are over 24h old should not be in SPENDABLE but in STAKE correct?

Wouldn't staking the premine help with 51% attacks? I say do that and do not give it away. The last thing we want is to switch to another algo only to be screwed over by 1 whale that doesn't like us.
