Sergio Aguero has a calf injury right now and he is going to be out until Oct 16, 2021. So, it is normal that you don't see him even registered to the squad.  Grin  It's really an unfortunate injury for him. I'd also like to watch him now. And maybe Barcelona are regretting to buy him now.
Are you serious if Aguero gets injured? because according to some news that I read, currently Aguero cannot be played by Barcelona because Aguero and several new Barcelona players have not been registered with La Liga due to financial problems that are still hitting Barcelona.
But if true as you said, of course this will be detrimental to Barcelona, because after losing Messi, of course Barcelona hopes that Aguero can replace Messi possesion as their mainstay striker.

You can access the injury information about him here:

https://www.transfermarkt.com/sergio-aguero/verletzungen/spieler/26399

So unfortunately this news is true. He will be out for around 2 months and he is expected to miss 8 games. It was a big coincidence as Aguero was unhappy after Messi left the team. Because one of the reasons why Aguero came here was Messi's existence here.

I don't understand why there are still rumours about Ronaldo to leave the team for joining Manchester United or PSG. It seems really clear that he won't be leaving this summer. The new season in the Serie A is starting this week. Juventus have Allegri from now on. The conditions seem quite good for Ronaldo. If Juventus still continued with Pirlo, then he would most probably leave.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/12/manchester-city-ready-to-pay-150m-to-sign-harry-kane-from-tottenham

The Guardian claims that Manchester City are finally ready to offer €150m to Tottenham's great top striker Harry Kane. This might stir Kane's mind before the game between Tottenham and Manchester City in the EPL this weekend. But I assume that Kane wouldn't perform worse just because he got an offer from their next opponent.
I do not know if this is true or not, but if they are doing this just to boggle the mind of Kane before the game, that is not going to work. On contrary I think he will try to play as great as he can so that he can show City that he is what they are paying for, and scoring few goals would mean that City would want him even more, and that is why this will only make him play even better.

However, if they are serious about this, then it is going to be even worse for them, 150 million dollars for Kane? I mean don't get me wrong he is a great player, but 150 million? That’s just way too much money to pay for one player, maybe I am an old person who is still used to seeing players at lower levels, and in today’s industrial football age we get to see more and more 100+, but that is a very rare situation that I do not think we should actually consider as viable for these teams, then they end up being in financial trouble and become very bad in a decade because of all these silly transfers ending up on top of each other every year.

Normally, I would say that you are right about the $150m part. But football has changed I'm afraid. Big teams are pouring incredible amount of money for qualified players. And they don't even care about it. They just want to have the player, that's all.

I can give the Jack Grealish transfer as an example. He is absolutely not worth £100m. But City had to pay the transfer fee to be able to buy him. And they didn't see it as a problem.

Even though Messi left, Barcelona still played with their style, yes, I mean their possession of the ball. They had 62% of the ball, while Real Sociedad controlled 38%.

And don't forget our MOTM in this match is Lord Martin Braithwaite with 2 goals Cheesy
~snip~
Actually I want to see Aguero perform. But it doesn't seem to be in the line-up against Sociedad. Are Aguero's administrative problems not resolved. The last news I heard he was not yet registered with the club administration in La Liga.

As for Braithwaite, he's been outstanding. If he can appear stable like that maybe messi's role can be replaced by him. Maybe Aguero can also be a cover if he can't play well.

Despite losing I still think that Manchester City will win the league. Their bench is worth over 300 million and their on field players are closer to a billion. No other team in the league can compete with that and they will probably add to their team before the transfer window closes.

The quality of a squad is not the only thing that is important for success. The management of a team is more important than it actually. But we know that their manager is Guardiola and his system has been marvelous so far. Maybe they still haven't won the CL title. But they have been doing great in the EPL. And I agree with you on that they will still become the champions this season despite losing against Tottenham. It was already a tough match and not a surprising result. Tottenham have been beating them here for 3 games in the end.

Juventus are going to start the season with their new manager Allegri this week. Juventus were doing really good with him before. But after Pirlo was brought to the position, everything has changed for them. His management was not good enough that they ended the season far away from the champions Inter.

But now, I believe that Juventus will gain his old strength again and start destroying their opponents one by one.

We are in the last phase of the qualification round now. Still, there are strong teams in this round. It must be really unfortunate for Celtic and AZ Alkmaar both that they have got a draw against each other. We will see which side will be more eager to win. Honestly, I think that Celtic are more capable of moving on to the group stage. But AZ Alkmaar won't give up on the draw easily. I'm expecting enjoyable games in the 1st and 2nd leg both.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-tottenham-inter-martinez-transfer-24752295

Mirror claims that Inter's young forward Lautaro Martinez has decided to stay at the team despite Tottenham's and Arsenal's interests in him. But this is just a rumour until Martinez says such thing. We'll figure it out in the coming days.

Some other sources were also saying that Tottenham were very close to ending the deal. It's really hard to believe a news source.

honestly I think Lautaro Martinez shouldn't think about leaving for clubs like Tottenham or Arsenal because they are teams that don't earn anything, he would just be someone who wouldn't be being well used in these two teams that don't earn anything, the best thing he can do do and look for good teams like juventus, or real madrid or manchester united or chelsea or city, but he shouldn't go to Tottenham or Arsenal, it wouldn't be beneficial for him in the long term

I agree. Because Tottenham and Arsenal are both loser teams right now. They are struggling about finishing their league at a nice position. But Inter are a winner team. They are the last champions in the Serie A. Maybe they've sold Lukaku but they are still very strong. With Martinez, they can still have a good season even if they fail on becoming the champions.

And Dortmund don't make me surprised in their game against Frankfurt now. Dortmund ended the first half 3-1 ahead and it is going on like that. Haaland is playing awesome again as he has scored 1 goal and made 2 assists so far. This young lad is a very valuable player. Dortmund must be very grateful that he is still at the team.

Liverpool have also started the season and now they are playing against Norwich. They are 1-0 ahead with the goal D. Jota scored. Liverpool have been dominating the game so far. I think that they will score 1 or 2 more goals and get an easy win. Norwich were the champions in the Championship the last season. But in my opinion, they don't have much chance in this match.

Union Berlin v Bayer Leverkusen game can also be very exciting. Bayer Leverkusen ended the last season at the 6th place being only 2 points ahead of the 7th, Union Berlin. So there is no need to underestimate any of these teams. As it is an away game, Leverkusen can have a hard time to beat their opponent. And they have important players missing like Alario and Bellarabi. I think this game will end in a draw but both sides will score goal(s).

Times says that Tottenham are ready to make an offer for Villarreal's 24-year-old defender Pau Torres. It could be an offer around 55 million pounds. Manchester City, Manchester Utd and Liverpool have also been after him for a long time. But if this is true, Tottenham are going to sign him. As they are likely to sell Harry Kane to City for a great deal of money, they won't have a financial problem on paying for Pau Torres.

Tonight, Real Madrid are starting the season by their match against Alaves away. But they have a lot of injured players now. Carvajal, Ceballos, Kroos, Marcelo, Mariano and Mendy won't be able to play in this match. But Benzema can still carry them to the victory. Alaves are not a very tough opponent so it shouldn't be so hard for Real Madrid to win this.

Chelsea are going to play against Crystal Palace home. Ziyech is injured and Kante has an injury also but his condition will be clear before the match. Lukaku is able to play now but he is lacking match fitness. Even if he doesn't play, I think Chelsea will beat them easily. But I would like to see Lukaku in this game really much. It would be good if he enters after the 60th minute at least.

Tonight, we are going to have Lorient - Monaco game. On the first week of the season, Monaco drew with Nantes 1-1. And Lorient also drew with St Etienne with the same score. But when we compare these two teams in terms of strength, Monaco are way better than their competitor of course. They had a great season last. They ended the league at the 3rd place. Now as they didn't have a good start, I assume they would like to obtain a victory in this one. I think that they will win.

I'm expecting Monaco to beat their opponent in this match. They are a way more qualified team than Lorient. Lorient barely were able to stay in the league. They were only two points up the risky zone. Monaco beat them 5-2 in this stadium in the last season. They can get another comfortable win in this one.

According to AS, PSG are looking for signing Juventus centre-forward Cristiano Ronaldo next summer. Because Mbappe can be signed by Real Madrid for free in the next summer. Mbappe has been thinking of leaving the team so he doesn't intend to extend his contract anymore. Maybe Messi transfer can effect his decision but I'm not sure about it.

Manchester Utd are going to play a home game against Leeds tomorrow. Both teams are capable of scoring easily. Leeds have players like Patrick Bamford who can be dangerous for Manchester Utd. But I think that Manchester Utd side are closer to getting a win. I suppose they can have a good start with a nice victory.

When we think that Messi was ready to agree on a deal even though he would get a 50% pay cut, it seems like Messi won't be hard on Barcelona too much over this matter. But then, his father comes to my mind. As far as I know, he is not a very understanding person. So, maybe he can convince Messi somehow to go after his money immediately.
You guys did not understand the story. Messi agreed to cut his salary to 50% and he can not cut it more because of La Liga rules. 50% reduction between two seasons is the maximum. La Liga does not allow more than 50% reduction of salary between two seasons.

Barcelona can not meets La Liga's Financial Fair Play rules if they sign a new contract with Messi, with 50% salary reduction. It adds their total salary budget up to 110% of the club income.

Messi can not do anything in this case. Barcelona can do it better and I don't know they really want to renew the contract with Messi or not.

I didn't mean that Barcelona were able to buy him either. I know that the La Liga financial rules didn't let them. By saying that, I meant Messi was ready to sign a new contract accepting even 50% wage cut. This shows clearly that Messi is not after a very big amount of money when it comes to Barcelona. He can tolerate it for some time.

So, maybe he doesn't go after his loyalty bonus immediately.

https://www.90min.com/posts/barcelona-lionel-messi-owe-39m-contract-loyalty-bonus

According to the source, Barcelona still owe Lionel Messi €39m as part of a loyalty bonus included in Messi's final contract. As Barcelona are still in a financial trouble, I think that they wouldn't be able to pay this amount easily. I don't know if they have this amount of money to spare now. Maybe this could lead to a tension between Messi and Barcelona in time.

It is true that Barcelona still owes a loyalty bonus to Messi, but it is not possible for Barcelona to pay it in the near future. And I'm sure there won't be
any tension between Messi and Barcelona over this matter, because Messi will give Barcelona time to pay. That's because Messi is also aware of
the financial situation going on at Barcelona, I'm sure Messi would be wise not to demand that Barcelona pay the loyalty bonus now. This loyalty
bonus issue may be suspended until Barcelona's financial condition improves.

Dortmund v Frankfurt match will also be very competitive I believe. In the last season, Dortmund ended at the 3rd place and Frankfurt were the 5th. And there was only a 4-point difference between them. As both sides are really powerful, it's not too easy to predict the result of the game. First of all, I expect both teams to score. When it comes to which side will be victorious, my favorite team are Dortmund. As long as Haaland plays in this one, I think there is no way they are losing this.  Grin
