You don't need to have a good looking website to have your Adsense account approved, you need good original content.

Depending what country your are from it may require that your website is a few months old.

I advise everyone to check out Westworld, it has been amazing, great actors, great plot, HBO quality.

Links are legit.

You might want to put more information about those markets and how to access them, website is too poor, and make links clickable.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Currency v Property on: October 24, 2016, 12:49:39 PM
It's in our best interest bitcoin being treated as a currency, usually property and property sales is subjected to taxation, that would make bitcoin exchange and using it as a means of payment very hard and much more expensive.
1285  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How would YOU handle this idea? on: October 24, 2016, 11:01:07 AM
If you start with $1000 and compounding daily that's something like $100000 in a year...

You have the best job in the world there, don't tell anyone, it can ruin your strategy.
1286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long does it take recieve Bitcoins? on: October 24, 2016, 10:49:23 AM
Yes, it is common, the number of transactions is way above capacity, long confirmation time is an inevitability.

You can use off-chain services, like Coinbase or Xapo, or other currencies like litecoin, if you need fast transactions.
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the corner bitcoin guy? on: October 21, 2016, 05:01:41 PM
So there's a guy on Black Market: Dispatches, Dark Web, who takes cash from people, and on his phone transfers bitcoin into people's accounts, while taking a 15 % cut. All this in an effort to add another degree of anonymity for his customers who you would assume are planning to use the bitcoin for nefarious reasons. This episode was filmed just about a year ago. So is this happening in larger cities, the emergence of the street corner bitcoin guy? Or did I just see places on the net already offering bitcoin anonymization services that do the same thing for much cheaper?

It's a trap.

1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vault proposed by Emin Gun Sirer on: October 21, 2016, 02:26:27 PM
This is an amazing idea, it would make exchange thefts useless, no more hacks life Bitfinex would happen.

And also very useful for holders, it would prevent the majority of thefts.

Hope to see this implemented as soon as possible.
However this idea may get rejected by majority of community members as this involve reversible transaction and all love bitcoin because bitcoin is untraceble as well as non-reversible.

People should actually read what this is about before saying stupid shit.

It seems only OP and I have read what 'Bitcoin vaults' is about, everyone else just shitposting in this thread.

1290  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Secure e-mail over blockchain on: October 21, 2016, 08:01:48 AM
Hhahahaha no.

To send a message through the blockchain, you would need a means to store it - A transaction. To create a transaction that will probably get through to the next block, you'll need a transaction fee usually more than 20 cents. I wont pay 20 cents for an email.

In addition, it will take 10+ minutes on average to send an email, and your message will be public, but encrypted (hopefully). What if someone decrypts it, huh?

At least no more boner pills emails.  Cheesy
1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin smackdown coming on: October 20, 2016, 12:48:02 PM
I still don't think that ECB is really taking virtual currencies serious.
Maybe some people way down the command line have a realistic view on what a crypto currency can or can not do.
But for the level where decisions are made, crypto is still too small by far.
I can not imagine that they would use their time to even debate about it.

Although it's a cool name, I don't think that articles written by a guy who calls himself Tyler Durden shuold be considered to be a realistic scenario of the future.

You should read the original document:

https://www.ecb.europa.eu/ecb/legal/pdf/en_con_2016_49_f_sign.pdf

BTW, there's nothing in there about banning bitcoin.
1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Unconfirmed Transactions Increase? on: October 20, 2016, 10:46:45 AM
There are still blocks mined without adding all the possible transactions.

The last number is the size in kB.

The pool software or something needs fixed/optimized along with the increasing tx fees.

That happens when a block is found immediately after the other, I don't know if it can be fixed.
1293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Unconfirmed Transactions Increase? on: October 20, 2016, 09:56:08 AM
Anyone else notice an increase in unconfirmed transactions?

https://coincurrencynews.com/2016/10/20/blockchain-unconfirmed-transactions-increase/

Any idea why this could happen?

Well, I haven't noticed any delay today. I made a transaction around 30 minutes ago and with transaction fee just slightly over 20,000 sats it took less than 5 minutes to get confirmations.

So I'm wondering are all those delays happening because very low transaction fees were included or you might have a delay even with higher transaction fees?

Well, it's an auction, if you pay high enough fee you'll always beat everybody else, but they cannot all win the auction.

You can check stats here:

Thanks for your reply and thanks for the great link, I have bookmarked it because I think it's really helpful. But I can't agree that this is like an auction because in auction only one person wins a lot, so to win you should pay more than others. Here we have a slightly different situation - to be the winners, or in other words to have our transactions confirmed fast, we just shouldn't be among those who is paying much less than others.

It's an auction and there is more than 1 winner because there is more than 1 position being sold...

Because of network limitation the maximum transaction capacity has been reached some time ago, the network has been congested and huge delays in confirmations occur since then.

Every time a lot of people have to transact using bitcoin this kind of stuff happens.

The following chart illustrates whats happening:

1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why it was completely irresponsible not to increase block size limit on: October 20, 2016, 08:00:27 AM
People in charge made their choice, the stagnation and congestion of the network have been quite visible we don't need yet another chart to see it.

BTW, we already have a bitcoin with bigger block size, it is called litecoin.

Yet, nobody gives a fuck about Litecoin and everyone uses Bitcoin (Bitcoin Core software that is).

The market has spoken, no one wants a team of amateurs increasing the blocksize. You can keep crying about it as much as you want.

Bitcoin will lose their position of gold of cryptocurrencys, this is just the beginning of this era, let's wait some decades and see all holders crying. A lot of new alts will appear, hope one can be good.

The market will choose Hilary Clinton as the next president of the USA, that doesn't mean she is the best thing ever, bad choices are made all the time.

Here's the document:

https://www.ecb.europa.eu/ecb/legal/pdf/en_con_2016_49_f_sign.pdf

And an interesting paragraph:

Quote
Second, given that virtual currencies are not in fact currencies, it would be more accurate to regard them as a means of exchange, rather than as a means of payment. Additionally, the proposed directive’s definition of ‘virtual currencies’ as a means of payment does not take into account that in some circumstances virtual currencies can be used for purposes other than that of a means of payment12. As noted by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the distributed ledger technology underlying many digital currency schemes could have a much broader application beyond payments13. In this respect, the FATF has noted that non-payment uses of virtual currencies may include store-of-value products for savings or investment purposes, such as derivatives, commodities, and securities products14. More recent digital currencies, which are based on more sophisticated distributed ledger and block chain technology, have a large array of uses that go beyond payment purposes15, including for example, online casinos In the light of the above, the ECB suggests that the proposed directive also refers to other possible uses of virtual currencies in the proposed definition of that term.

The ECB suggests adapting the definition of virtual currencies under the proposed directive to take the above points into account.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Question on: October 19, 2016, 08:26:06 AM
If you want fast transactions you need to use some other payment method or other currency.

Bitcoin network has been congested for a year or so now, it is not reliable.

1300  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Web wallets with no transaction fees charged, for how long? on: October 18, 2016, 04:12:35 PM
Yes, you can be asked to pay fees at any moment:

Does Coinbase pay miner fees?

Aug 23, 2016
Yes, Coinbase pays the miner fees on external transactions in order to ensure these transactions propagate throughout the bitcoin network quickly. For very small transaction amounts you may be prompted to pay the transaction / miner fee.

Miner fees are a small amount of digital currency that is included in transactions as a reward/incentive to the people who operate the network. They help the network continue to grow and provide an incentive for your transactions to be verified quickly.

Remember, Coinbase to Coinbase wallet transactions are always free of fees, no matter how much you are sending.
