1281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: problem reaper/litecoin/7970 on: April 07, 2013, 01:29:32 PM
Try using cgminer with an intensity of 13, a core clock of 1022, and a memory clock of 1244.

One question, likely something jasinlee would feel fine disclosing: Do you intend to work with one of the authors of a popular mining program to get bitstream support or are you making your own mining software solution? Smiley

Very excited for this project, the next step for litecoin is far underway Smiley

doesn't seem to want to fire up on my box. No gui, nothing new showing in the task list.

Vanilla Win 7 x64

Do you have Java installed? Try showing hidden files, and launching LitecoinGUIMiner.jar Smiley
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EasyLTC--The Easiest Litecoin GUIMiner! on: April 06, 2013, 09:13:14 PM
I Dled, extracted, Clicked MinerGUI, absolutely nothing happens... (running Win7)

Try launching it a few times, sometimes reaper bugs out on it.
just tried a bunch of times in a row, still failed to open

Do you have Java installed?

If you ever need this again, I have a little over 5.5 mh/s or gh/s depending on what you are trying to mine!

I am interested in some additional power Smiley I've PM'd you.

You don't have to put the cards in crossfire Smiley
The only detriment to performance with a multi-GPU system is increased heat. If your computers don't ventilate well (small areas, etc.) then two cards in the same place might just be too much heat and cause some throttling. If you have good (air or water or oil) cooling, you should be good to go. Smiley

Nice, thanks  Smiley  Can you clarify if I can just keep running reaper with the same configuration when I add the second GPU?  Or will I have to make some sort of changes (like running it twice, or changing the concurrency)?

Yeah, if you used the device 0 setting you will need to add device 1 as well. That's about it for all of that stuff, since they are the same card they should work with the same threadconc. Smiley
1289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New GPU...low hash rates...please help! on: April 06, 2013, 07:57:18 PM
Try a 0.57 Core:Memory ratio (570 Core to 1000 Memory is a good starting point)
1290  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [WTB Your Hashing Power] >150% PPS! on: April 06, 2013, 07:21:13 PM
Hello! I'm looking to buy 1 Bitcoin (and if this is successful, much more) of SHA256 hashing power, paying a little over 150%

Current PPS price: 0.000003546985
My Price: 0.00000533

Which is right around 187000 shares for one Bitcoin. Please PM me if interested.

Hi, I've PMed you to say I've redirected my miners, please check the coinotron end and don't pay me anything yet, wait for them to settle a bit.

Your figures seem a little off. At current difficulty=7673000, the 100% PPS rate should be 25/7673000 = 0.000003258178. Your offer price is 150% of your quoted current PPS price, but is about 164% of the 'correct' PPS (if I'm not doing it rong). Of course I don't mind being overpaid, but I'd be happy to accept an actual 150% rate, which would be 0.000004887267 per share. That would mean I give you 204614 shares for 1BTC.

Thank you, I'll go with the PPS rate I set though, give you a few extra bits Smiley

1292  Economy / Marketplace / [WTB Your Hashing Power] >150% PPS! [CLOSED] on: April 06, 2013, 03:58:21 AM
<now closed>

I am looking to purchase people's shares for normal SHA256 mining, at 150% PPS.

What does this mean? When you would normally get 0.5 Bitcoins mining, you get 0.75 in the same time period. Sound nice? Shoot me a PM!

I'm looking for power above or around 700MH/s, and will start small, then if all goes well likely order larger contracts from you if you are interested.
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EasyLTC--The Easiest Litecoin GUIMiner! on: April 06, 2013, 03:19:46 AM
Yeah Ive been using this a bit, its nice as sometimes cgminer gets cranky with certain rigs so if Im having issues I will try this.

Right now its been running for 24 hours on a 2x6950 rig, no issues, nice and stable. Great work OP!

Glad its working! What hash rate are you getting on each 6950? Smiley
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EasyLTC--The Easiest Litecoin GUIMiner! on: April 05, 2013, 09:26:17 PM
Would people be more interested in seeing a aggregate panel (you could run it on a laptop, and control/view up to 16 different mining sessions from it) or in one window of the miner itself support multiple GPUs? Both will be implemented eventually, but I'd like to set priorities. Smiley

First of all, thank you for this! GUIminer kept crashing my PC and this has been working flawlessly for about an hour now.

I personally would much rather be able to control / view mining sessions from a laptop instead of a window within the miner itself. I use my laptop + remote desktop to do it now, it be awesome if I could just do it from my laptop without having to login to multiple mining rigs.

Hopefully this weekend I will be implementing a remote management tool Smiley
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Go solo or Be in pool for litecoin on: April 05, 2013, 09:13:12 PM
I have two rigs for  litecoin

one hashing 2400 Khas/sec adding another card to get to 3000khas/sec and other 1200Khah/sec

should i go solo or should i keep on mining on pool ....any inputs..

V

On average you'd get a block every 2 days with that kind of hashing power. There is of course inherent risk with solo mining, while a pool tends to be more consistant.
1296  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [WTB Your Hashing Power] >150% PPS! on: April 05, 2013, 08:58:37 PM
Yes I am still interested, but I'm still unclear exactly how I'm supposed to give you 187000 shares. If it's just redirecting my miners to some pool, I can do that!

Yeah, I'll just send you the details for my miner on coinotron Smiley
1297  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [WTB Your Hashing Power] >200% PPS! on: April 05, 2013, 12:56:46 PM
How would this work exactly?

We lend you our rigs' hashing power (how?), you mine 141000 shares with them, then give us about 2BTC.
I can see how we make money on this. How do you? Or are you giving 1BTC out of the kindness of your heart?

ETA: I suppose we transfer the hashing power to you by mining on a pool you've set up?

ETA2: factor of 2 out, unless I misunderstand you. 1BTC is about 282000 shares.

ETA3: oh, you mean, you pay us 1BTC for 141000 shares. So you're 'buying 1BTC'. We would get 0.5 BTC for them on a 100% PPS pool, so this way we get 200%. I get it now. Still wondering what's your upside here. Of course, IF you pay the 1BTC in advance (see sig) I'm happy enough to go further with this.

No more ETAs, promise.  Lips sealed

Just changed my offer, as I redid math and got a lower profit margin than I expected. Anyhow, basically 1BTC will buy me 187000 shares from someone who wants to work with me. If you are still interested at the 150% I can pay upfront Smiley
1298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Litecoin? on: April 05, 2013, 12:54:42 AM
Litecoins bring a few interesting points to the table, namely:
-Scrypt algorithm: If SHA256 is at some point cracked or a reduction function is created for it, scrypt should still be fairly safe (although I understand scrypt has some ties into SHA family algorithms)
-Transaction time: Blocks are mined faster, confirms happen faster. Some will argue that 10min is perfect, some love 2 minutes.
-Hedging against Bitcoin without Fiat: Awesome

Just like people don't have an issue with Euros and USD coexisting, there is no reason that we can't have more than one crypto currency. However, many people are against the idea of multiple currencies for a few reasons:
-Random spam (BBQ coins?)
-Diverges people from a main coin
-Many Bitcoiners feel that it threatens their coin
-Multiple currencies make the learning curve harder for entry into cryptocurrencies

Due to the nature of the Scrypt algorithm, Litecoins are resistant (not immune) to ASIC and FPGA design, and bridge the gap a bit between CPU mining and GPU mining.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 LTC mining on: April 04, 2013, 09:17:28 PM
Hey guys, im about to purchase this card for mining LTC puposes.

Just a few checks I hope you can help me with.

I'm thinking of installing it in an old system :-

Athlon 64 2.8ghz
2.5 GB 533mhz RAM
650W PSU
M2V Asus mobo
case is very well ventilated and will be left open 24/7

I'm wondering if there will be any limitation in terms of mining purposes.  I was told earlier on that the interconnectivity has no real implications in terms of khash/s.  I.E. the fact my mobo is PCI-e 1.0 16x will have no effect on its mining performance.  Any other issues I should look at before purchasing?

You should have no limitations with using your 7970 in this build out that you have described. I just put a Sapphire 7970 into a double case (acrylic full body case to keep out dust, and a NZXT case inside of it), and it still runs around 71C full load, 13 intensity, 24 hours a day with ~640kh/s. I tried with an older board that is PCI 2 (not 1) and saw 0 difference in my stable hashing rates, so I don't believe you will have any slowdowns with that Smiley

Thanks, great to hear from someone with the card.  So I assume your initial build was PCI-e 3.0?  Or am I misinterpreting that, and you moved from 1.0 to 2.0?  Interesting that 13 intensity is optimized.  I take it you've tried higher?  Also, as it's running at 71C, have you thought about OC'ing it?  Looks like a card built for it, I'd like to reach 700khash/s Cheesy:D

Oh and actually, what PSU have you in your system?  I'm worried 650W may not be enough for this beast.

650W should handle one 7970 just fine, I am throwing 3 7970s into a system with 1000W.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of GPU RAM for Litecoin Mining on: April 04, 2013, 12:27:54 AM
You may get better results if you post in Alternate Currencies Smiley

Either way, from what I understand a higher memory clock is much more important than the actual amount of RAM on the card--1GB should be plenty. If you are talking about a 7xxx series above a 77xx then you want to be looking at getting a 0.57-0.6 ratio between core/memory.
