It's 2 minute blocks ideally (I'd say 90 second average will likely happen due to the retarget algorithm). So that's 960 blocks per day if the trusted blocks take 0 time (they don't but let's forget it for this calc) and the normal blocks take 90s.

960 blocks per day * 1.6 = 1536SC a day, which would give us 1302 days or 3.5 years until they are completely funneled back into CPF. That's if trusted blocks took no amount of time, and with lower than maximum retargets. So fairly on the side of caution.

I can gaurantee you that bitcoinexpress is lying about his SC holdings because of the people who have told me what they made mining on the first day. All the biggest miners I know of made more than 60% of it. Leaving the smaller miners to take their share and then possibly whatever this guy thinks he got.

He doesn't have a significant holding of SC, ask him to prove it and he'll be unable to. Simply ask him to move SC around on the network so we can see it's under his control. Won't happen, like I've said.

I have some bad news. Unfortunately, I need to make everyone download a new binary (or source code) again. I found a flaw in my logic that could lead to a potential attack against the chain. Technical details in the next paragraph. Basically, some people might have been able to start mining on the real chain ahead of time. So I need to patch up the code to prevent that. I will make another post when source and binaries are ready. Really sorry about this, but it's good that I caught this.

Here's the technical details for those of you that understand and care. I locked down the genesis block such that only the genesis hash is checked in and you need to provide the genesis time and genesis nonce in order for the client to run. But if you modify the code, you can easily bypass this check. So you can start working on the chain by building on the genesis hash. I previously thought about this, so I found one block and locked that block hash into the code. Even if you start building a chain against the genesis block, you won't be able to correctly find the first block that matches the block hash in the code. Your chain will be rejected by all the other clients because the block hash won't match. This is all good, EXCEPT I accidentally left a client running on the real chain in the open. So if someone modifies the code to run against the genesis block, their client can request block 1 from me. And once they do that, they can start building their chain against that in secret. I am not 100% sure that someone is doing this, but I checked the logs and noticed a connection from a few unknown IP addresses AND I saw a few getdata calls that were requesting for blocks. Since it's possible that the blocks have been sent out, I will need to patch the code to lock another block in. This time I will find the 2nd block in private, and lock that in. I figure it's better to be safe.

I believe if others scam or harm others in some way then justice should be served. It's quite simple. What else should happen to fraudsters and scammers?

I'm quite big on punishing those that hurt others, if someone finds it HARD not to hurt others I don't think they should be alive. Just my own life philosophy.

This is correct, think of trusted nodes spending money to protect their investment, just like they do in real life with safes, etc.

If making a claim without providing proof is reason to be banned, then surely SC should be banned for claiming SC2 is 51% attack-proof but not not offering proof (e.g. the source-code).

Note: I DON'T believe making a claim without substantiating it is a reason for banning.

Bitcoin is an open-source, decentralised, peer-to-peer currency.
SC2 is a closed-source, centralised, peer-to-trusted node (which may as well be servers for the non-existent disclosure about them), currency.

I guess that it uses cryptography is the only pont of relevance - but when it's not even disclosed what the cryptograph(s) used are then there's really little that can be usefully discussed.  In effect it's a commercial product (you can't get much more commercial than taxing currency at creation - irrespective of vague assertions of "good intent" with the taxed proceeds) using this forum for free advertising - with the stated intent of harming the product this forum was designed to support.

just a note that isn't mentioned in the unix help file, had to in ubuntu 11.04 to get litecoind to compile (fresh reinstall as of yesterday)

litecoin-qt compiled just fine following the debian instructions(this was before I tried litecoind)

BitcoinEXpress made it clear he had free usgae of EC2 for months now, this isn't new and his use of them isnt new either. Just ask Lolcust or Coblee who runs Fairbrix. BCX made it clear before he did what he did, what was going to happen and it did.
