I just got a paypal shipped confirmation for my order. I guess I should get mine soon.
802  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANNOUNCE GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds on: April 18, 2012, 11:19:14 PM
I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere, so I'm going to point out that I believe most of the numbers on this thread are wrong in one way or another.  For instance, bidding 1.28 would be a losing proposition because of the .5% fee encountered when selling the bond back.  IOW, paying more than 1.2736 for a bond guarantees a loss after counting the current fee for selling.  To the best of my knowledge, the fee for selling applies in all circumstances other than the bank defaulting, but I could be wrong on this altogther if Burt and company have worked with Nefario and the recall option will exist within 6 weeks without a fee.
Good point, I will email Nefario.  I had not thought of the fees in the new "bond recall" function and since it is not written yet there is time to give him our input.

Bond recall should cost nothing. If it costs something, you can always just give a 1.28 btc dividend (no feeds on dividends) and recall all the bonds for 0 btc. Speaking of that, the bond recall time and amount should be in the contrat and enforced by GLBSE so that you can't just recall all your bonds at 0. I guess you guys will work that out with Nefario.

Is there going to be an exact time for the IPO?

Yes, I'm on a Mac too. And I've reverted back to 0.0.4. TheSeven, let me know if there's anything we can do to help get this fixed for the Mac.

Hello Coblee I wrote you several times in the offical LTC thread, then I PM you but you still don't respond. I wrote you private message on #litecoin IRC but you ignored it. Are you that busy or is there some other reason why you ignore me? Thank you

Sorry for ignoring you, I will send you PM.

Hm, that looks like a Python or OpenUSB/LibUSB/PyUSB bug. You might want to try a different Python/PyUSB version.

Ok, just FYI. This worked with the previous version of MPBM. So the new web-based version is doing something different.

I tried both pyusb-1.0.0-a0 and pyusb-1.0.0a2 and neither worked. I switched back to v0.0.4 and my x6500 boards are working again. Any ideas?

Honestly, I like v0.0.4 better. It's much easier to spot if anything is wrong with my miners. The latest has a lot of stats, but most of them don't mean much to me. So it makes it harder for me to find the important ones like hashrate and stales. You should consider make it adjustable so I could hide the stats I don't care about.

No matter what I do, I can't get this to work correctly on a mac. Tried different versions of python/pyUSB/libusb, but nothing. 0.4 runs beautifully out of the box, guess I'll stick with that for now.

806  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BFLS - Bitcoin Mining & Sales on: April 11, 2012, 07:16:56 PM
Why not 1:1 ratio to keep things simple?
807  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BFLS - Bitcoin Mining & Sales on: April 11, 2012, 06:12:51 PM
I will be transferring the 800 manually, not through public sale to assure the same person doesn't snatch up all of the publicly available shares.

I am going to create a new asset called BFLS.FUTURES . This will be a non dividend paying asset that you can trade for BFLS shares when hardware becomes available.  You will be able to trade 1:.85 as new hardware arrives.  So 100 shares of BFLS.FUTURES will get you 85 shares of BFLS.  I will increase the number of shares available for BFLS as new hardware is added and remove shares from public circulation as hardware is removed, so share dilution should never happen as the corresponding hashrate increase will increase the per-share dividend value.  If more hardware comes online than is covered by BFLS.FUTURES, then I will offer BFLS shares for public sale, but BFLS.FUTURES holders will have priority over public sale.

The above is subject to modification as I flesh out this idea a bit more, but I wanted to get it out there to get some comments and see if anyone sees a flaw in this plan.

How would you determine which of the BFLS.FUTURES shares get transfered when you get new hardware? Or will you only release BFLS.FUTURES shares for the exact number of new hardware you have or plan to get.

What would happen with all the GLBSE shares when you decide to leave it? Will you buy them all back at 0.1?

Thanks.

Using the testing branch, I get this error on my Mac:

Quote
2012-04-09 17:26:20.918   [100]   X6500 worker - AH00WI18: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/charlie/Modular-Python-Bitcoin-Miner/modules/fpgamining/x6500/x6500worker.py", line 208, in main
    data = self.rxconn.recv()
EOFError

Any ideas?

The real error message is probably a couple of lines above that.
This one just means that the board proxy connection closed unexpectedly. The proxy should have reported an error before dying.

No other error in log, but my Mac did throw up this dialog with an error in Python:

How about anonymize the data by giving each person a random ID. And only share with your depositors/borrowers their own ID.

Using the testing branch, I get this error on my Mac:

Quote
2012-04-09 17:26:20.918   [100]   X6500 worker - AH00WI18: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/charlie/Modular-Python-Bitcoin-Miner/modules/fpgamining/x6500/x6500worker.py", line 208, in main
    data = self.rxconn.recv()
EOFError

Any ideas?

Try the testing branch. It seems to fix that error.

Yes, I'm not sure about the details of the error, but the testing branch has a fix for this bug already. If you're running from a git clone, just run

Code:
git checkout testing

then restart MPBM.

I hope that fixes coblee and coretechs' problems! I'm sure TheSeven can explain the problem tomorrow, but he's asleep right now.

After getting the testing branch
Code:
git checkout origin/testing
I'm now getting this exception:
Code:
X6500 worker - AH00WI18: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/charlie/Modular-Python-Bitcoin-Miner/modules/fpgamining/x6500/x6500worker.py", line 208, in main

EOFError

I just got latest code and everything stopped working. I couldn't get either my x6500 or my Icarus working. I'm getting the proxy died error for x6500 and "device reports readiness to read but returned no data (device disconnected?)" on my Icarus.

This is quite frustrating. Anyway I can switch back to the previous version?

I'm running this on my Mac. Python 2.7.2.

I'm interested in joining. Does anyone want to refer me? Smiley

first you must demonstrate that you have read this entire thread, by not asking to be referred within this thread.

oops too late.

I figured reading the first page and the last 2 pages was good enough. I planned to read the whole thing later when I have more time.

Yes, maybe my wlalet is full of spam... Well, because I want...  Tongue
I can not leave those coins behind me... lol
How can I leave this spammed wallet with 0.00?

rm wallet.dat

ok, if you really want to collect those spam transactions, it will cost you 0.1 LTC for each spam transaction that has an output less than 0.01 LTC. So if you have something like 1000 of these spam transactions like I did, it will cost you 100 LTC to spend them. So just deleting the wallet is the best option.
