Only one thing is certain: Bitcoin, being not a precious metal, can't be used where gold can. Apart from that, Saylor is simply pumping his investment being the first CEO to use Bitcoin as a reserve asset. Let him do his shilling but don't believe in everything he says. I can't argue with somebody who gives so little value to the immense industrial applications that gold has.

I'm not from the States but according to what it's slowly coming out this has been the most embarrassing US Election in history, even worse than Gore v. Bush 2000. I knew this could have been a contested election and I decided consciously not to bet on this event. Not the Media but the people should elect the President. Even if Biden won correctly, Media attitude towards Donald Trump, being the US President, was and still is disgusting.

I would be rather curious to know how you guys bet and how you make use of singles. Do you really believe in minimizing risk when placing single bets? It's like going all-in, you basically flip a coin, either you win or you lose. If you like that, keep on playing. That's not for me. The risk is always there, you are right on that, but after following this thread for some time, I've come to the conclusion that multi bets are riskier than single ones. And it's not like, the more risky your bet, the higher multiplier you get, no. You are more likely to win a single bet with 1.9 odds, than a multi bet of 3 that gives you the same outcome odds. And the main reason for that is that you can't research as thoroughly about 3 events, as you can about 1 event. Man, betting is not like science. The amount of effort you put into researching what the possible outcome of an event could be will never be enough. There are always unexpected circumstances that will blow away your conclusions. Really anything can happen that you couldn't foresee. And, also, how much money do you bet @1.90? Again, better to flip a coin.

Orbit (and thus Betfair Exchange, except Orbit isn't region blocked) currently has Biden at 1.10 and Trump at 10.5 to be the next president. PredictIt is also showing similar numbers. Prediction markets are generally considered sharp. It's great to see sites like Sportsbet.io and Stake payout early (essentially as a promotion, since there's a non zero chance that Biden doesn't end up being president), but I personally wouldn't fault other sportsbooks for not paying out. It might seem like a clear victory for Biden if you look at mainstream media, but there's clearly a number of factors that somehow give Trump a 10% chance of winning. Besides lawsuits/recounts/direct election effects, there's also the possibility that Biden wins, but dies and Kamala Harris becomes president (0.2% according to Betfair Exchange). In 2000, it took five weeks to know the outcome of the presidential race that saw the infamous Gore v. Bush fight. Over that timeframe, there were recounts and court rulings. The story ended on December 12 when the Supreme Court decision effectively decided the presidential election. Of course, we don't know the end of the story but I guess sportsbooks should have better prepared for a contested election scenario.

I don't understand why some of you are so into single bets. If you place single bets and go all-in I suggest you rather play a single dice roll. At least if you lose you would know that you were playing provably fair. Once, I lost big on a single bet made on a champions league game: I was so sure of one team winning (odds were 1.12 playing home) and they eventually lost. Of course, I lost too. That's when I started playing multi bets only: I play less than $5 and sometimes I end up winning nice amounts. No more single bets for me.

I don't think this is a P&D before the US Election results will be confirmed. Nonetheless, if that would be the case, I would welcome a nice price drop only to buy more as others have thought. We will not have many more opportunities to buy at lower prices in the future, so any price drop can be used to accumulate more. That's what I did in March for example when I was able to buy BTC at $5240.

Michael Saylor is the CEO of business intelligence company MicroStrategy, which is heavily invested in Bitcoin. Today, Saylor suggested Bitcoin and gold aren’t so similar, contrary to the "digital gold" narrative. When Bitcoin is fully realized as an asset class, it will come at gold's expense, he claims. More here https://decrypt.co/47813/bitcoin-gold-cannot-coexist-microstrategy-ceoI wonder if Michael Saylor is on stealth-mode on this forum.

Same issue as before. The uBlock team only removed the filter rule that was blocking the signatures. They still left the one that blocks every span element with the text "Advert". It blocked the element because of this post: Advertising shiller spotted! As suggested before, just disable the uBlock extension on the forum (clicking on the on/off button)... And someone will probably have to go complain to them again. So annoying! I saw that too (always on chrome latest with uBlock Origin activated). I was actually thinking of some funny graphic glitch as I have an old laptop but then I remembered to come here and...bingo! I disabled uBlock on the forum, end of story.

FJ promo! Great one, I have never played there and I guess this is the right time to give it a try. Betnomi review - Betnomi is trying to rise above the competition and they are pushing hard to make it in top 10. They launched a massive game on Nations League with some big prizes https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5287988.0Duckdice - Being scammed big time by their unclear bonus requirements (changed along the way) in 2017 I can only give them red trust.

Holy Gray(l)scale is at it again: trying to own all the bitcoin production! I wonder how much of their activity influences the price and in what %. Thomas Lee saw it before others in 2018: I remember his data got dismissed but they were just a little ahead of times. https://twitter.com/fundstrat/status/988817606604881920

I am under Chrome latest version with uBlock Origin installed. I was getting mad at it without knowing what was the cause. For about a week I supposed it was the VPN to cause that because browsing the forum without it activated I was able to see sigs (but I now remember I was under Firefox with no adblockers). Good to know what happened; I can go back to my fav browsing settings. By the way, thanks logfiles

I hope people realize. My motive for posting these doom and gloom OP articles.
Is to prevent unnecessary human suffering.
If the eurozone is broken, I would like people to acknowledge and fix it.
To prevent tragedies like the great depression and 2008 economic crisis from occurring again.
I hope that makes sense.
The truth is out there in simple and plain sight. It's up to the individual to take some time to learn what might be the consequences of relying on a system that is slowly crashing down. You can show people the way but you can't force them to cross the line and make a meaningful first step. If you take Bitcoin as an example, satoshi was damn right: " If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry." What you say makes sense to those who understand.

Sci-fi mode ON Imagine the possibility to take part in the auction as a community: we could reclaim ownership of those coins and avoid they will enter any institutional hands. Then those funds will go through many anonymity cycles via any privacy tool we prefer and all who contributed will get their share. At the end of the process, we could use some of those funds to support Ross Ulbricht's freedom and that would be a great achievement. Sci-fi Mode OFF just dreaming

This is funny! Like the old telenovelas, the Trump Biden election 2020 will entertain the public for some more time while some can still bet on very strange happenings! Still, my previous thought remains: it would be fantastic for the result to change in Trump's favour just for the sake of the craziness that could create.

I would love to see Trump winning his lawsuits and become president again only to see all those bet results crumble as clearly the way one can bet on events like that must be rethought. Can't wait for it, that would be hilarious!

Another case could be due to VAR, so many penalties and dangerous free kicks have been awarded due to even simple fouls. Such fouls could have easily been avoided in the Pre-VAR era. Since the existence of VAR there have been a lot of penalty kicks and free kicks that certain teams have gotten, but one of the most annoying things about VAR is when the game is over but the referee still decides to look at VAR. The game of football is not as exciting as it used to be where there was a lot of controversy and drama on the pitch, but now football is really closely watched so there is no drama at all in football. This is why team play is not as aggressive as it was before VAR. I completely agree with you. Var killed the intrigue in football. He killed the beauty of the game. After scoring goals, you don’t know to rejoice or wait for the referee’s decision. However, there are some positive moments. There are few controversial moments. But I think they will not be able to completely remove them. Have you guys ever watched a rugby match? In rugby, the main intervention points for a TMO [Television Match Official] are for an act of scoring or foul play. I do know that the tempo between rugby and football is completely different, with rugby aficionados having many more occasions of seeing the game interrupted (for scrums, line outs and injuries). But now that the technology has been embedded in football there's probably no going back. In rugby it works almost perfectly, football should learn a lot from it. Football referees have to become much better at integrating their judgement with VAR calls.
