I think proudhon is a HoDLer. A big HoDLer. Bigger that the average WOer.

And he's laughing his freakin' pants off right now...

To be fair, i was thinking for quite a long time that R0ach was also kidding and secretly hodling cornbags.

Probably more effective then saying you lost it in a boating accident.

Perhaps, Mindrust didn't sell his stash either.

Meh, there will always be idiots... the world is full of them

No problem with that, but the concept of democracy gives them power at hands, as well as making more and bigger idiots to our leaders.

https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/bitcoin-embracing-congresswoman-wins-wyoming-senate-race-2020-11-09

Quote
Amidst the chaos of the U.S. 2020 Presidential election, former Congresswoman from Wyoming Cynthia Lummis won the race for a Senate seat, making her the highest-ranking elected official in the nation’s history who is also an outspoken advocate for Bitcoin.

This Republican politician has based her campaign largely on a self-described alignment with Trump’s camp, espousing a firm belief in “an America first style of politics.” However, Lummis does break from Republican orthodoxy as an outspoken supporter of bitcoin, which she has held since 2013.

That's usually a proven sign of a multi-year downtrend top, so I expect another 2-3 years trend toward $250 or so. Excellent shorting opportunity if you know enough science and math.

In case anyone may wonder at my fondness for art involving Venus (Aphrodite) with an apple, I am what men sheep call “evil”.  A wordy-man post with philosophic PROOF of my evilness is forthcoming in the discussion thread for the poll where you can VOTE, VOTE, VOTE for me as the forum’s “Antihero”.

Hey, goddesses, Eris was only trolling you!

Subject:  [WO] Bears, bulls, mellivores, and Venus contemplating a shiny fruit
Always timely.

An inadvertent riddle, which needed some explaining:
European culture in 1808:  Pauline Borghese (née Bonaparte; Napoleon’s sister) poses as Venus with an apple.

Fun fact:  Pauline had an affair with Paganini.

* nullius carries on simultaneous affairs a ménage à trois with Eris and Aphrodite—whilst courting the virgin Athena Pallas.
Athena Pallas: Virgin goddess of War and Wisdom
Nietzsche:  She and her sister Truth have rejected the advances of the philosophers philosophasters.

Photo: Jürgen Howaldt
I did not mention how hard I searched for a semi-nude of this virgin.

Whoopsie!  Troy got rekt!  Time for the goddess of sex to send forth her Trojan son to become the forefather of Rome.  Nobody accords to Eris the proper credit for starting this chain-reaction of creative destruction.  Poor Eris. :-(
Upon his arrival in Latium, Aeneas, blessed for victory by his goddess-of-sex mother, won himself a wife the old-fashioned way:  Killing his rival.  He then became the Latin king.

Protip:  When a nice guy wants a princess, he buys her diamonds

Hail Eris!

On a separate note: do you rember the conspirancy theory about Pfizer coming out with a vaccine news just three days after the election?

They are a complete nonsense.
Proof:

Pfizer's CEO cashed out 60% of his stock on the same day the company unveiled the results of its COVID-19 vaccine trial

Quote
  • Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla sold 62% of his stock in the company on the same day the drugmaker announced the results of its COVID-19 vaccine trial.
  • Bourla sold $5.6 million in stock on Monday as part of a predetermined trading plan adopted August 19.
  • His stock sale was carried out at $41.94 a share. The 52-week-high for Pfizer stock is $41.99, which means the CEO cashed out his shares at close to their highest price this year.

You greatly overestimate the importance of the elections:

What's up WO ?!

I come to share with you two interesting charts i enjoyed watching this morning. Both point to a continuation of btc's bull market.

First graphic presents correlation between btc price and volume of deposits towards exchanges. According to this data we are currently in a relatively high buying zone.

Well... Unless he also bought soon before the news came out OR he knows the vaccine doesn't live to expectations I guess there's not much to see here. Surely he will be watched closely anyways.

Also... only $5.6 millions? Bleh.

We are talking about an "insider info" worth countless billions globally.

fillippone, I had no doubt that there was anything other than quick earnings behind this news. The media did a great job, people reacted as if we had the vaccine today, and as we see those who had privileged information benefited from it. In the end, it may happen that someone else's vaccine will be the first or better effective - but if you can't sell the product, sell the story that you have the product.

I don't understand the point in maiking the vaccine available, after the pandemic is controlled. It is needed right now, not after 6 months.

How do you expect the vaccine to be distributed when the clinical trial has not yet been completed and production has not yet begun? Also, this 90% success rate may be premature because it’s actually about incomplete results, and it’s really not clear to me why they posted this other than inflating their stock prices. Even if they get a manufacturing license, they could only produce about 50 million doses by the end of this year, and each vaccine will first go to the most vulnerable groups, meaning health workers, police, the military, people over 60 and so on.
