1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kraken has finally crashed on: August 01, 2017, 06:15:12 PM
Yeah... I tried to login to Kraken, but the site is down. It may be due to some DDoS attack, because BCC has not yet been created. If I am not wrong, it is going to take at least a couple of hours more.
1342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Cash was stillborn. (ITS DEAD!) on: August 01, 2017, 06:11:09 PM
Too early to write it off. Any coin, which enjoys the support from people such as Roger Ver and Jihan Wu is not going to die that easily. And the early indications are that, it will be having a market cap of around $6 billion (which would make it the 3rd or 4th valuable crypto-currency). I calculated the market cap based on exchange rates from Yobit.
1343  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-30] Roger Ver Claims SegWit Transactions are “Unfairly Cheap” due to... on: August 01, 2017, 06:08:47 PM
@1Referee. From a financial point of view, what are you saying? That we should not dump our BCC and hold them in case the price will go up? I cannot see a reason why it would go up to more than 30 billion in market capitalization. That would make it no.2 in https://coinmarketcap.com/

You didn't understand what I meant. I was saying that from a financial point of view, this chain split is a smart move for the entities behind BCC as they are extremely large holders. It will gain them millions and millions without doing anything. Negative aspect is that this move isn't morally the best thing to do, as it might potentially hurt Bitcoin in whatever way. In other words, their hunger for greed is so strong, that they take it as collateral damage in case Bitcoin might suffer from their actions.

Till now, the exchange rates suggest no negative fallback for the Bitcoin. But I would be rather careful and wait for 2-3 more days before giving out my verdict. That said, right now it seems that BTC + BCC market cap will be higher than the pre-August market cap of Bitcoin.
1344  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-01] Coinbase Could Face Legal Battle For Leaving Out Bitcoin Cash on: August 01, 2017, 06:05:48 PM
If Coinbase is not crediting the users with the BCC which they deserve, then it is plain robbery. And right now, the BCC exchange rates are going at around BTC0.13 to BTC0.18 in Yobit. That means that Coinbase users are getting robbed of up to 18% of their funds.
1345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The official statement of BTC-E, the crackdown of FBI is a political plot? on: August 01, 2017, 06:00:08 PM
What a load of BS? Now they are saying that Vinnik had nothing to do with BTC-e? Then how did his coins ended up there? Also, how are they going to process the refunds, when all the coins have been seized by the FBI?
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: It Is Now 1st August 00:00 UTC on: August 01, 2017, 04:11:39 AM
Nothing really happen, bitcoin will go strongly from there, BCC is just a small altcoin style fork, I am pretty happen with it. I dumped at Yobit and I gained some BTCs, good job!

This is insane. Right now the exchange rate in Yobit is 1 BCC = BTC0.1410

This almost 14 times higher than the value which I thought BCC would be listing. The trends will be clear only after approx. 10 hours, when the BCC distribution will actually happen. But if the exchange rates in Yobit are anywhere closer to the actual exchange rates, then expect complete chaos.
1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fastest way to Dump BCC tomorrow at 12:20pm UTC? Timing is important on: August 01, 2017, 04:06:44 AM
Roger Ver has already said that he is ready to dump his huge Bitcoin stash (estimated to be worth around BTC300,000) to purchase BCC. If the Bitcoin Cash lists at around BTC0.01, then Ver just needs to spend 25% of his coins to purchase half of all the BCC tokens.
1348  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-30] Roger Ver Claims SegWit Transactions are “Unfairly Cheap” due to... on: August 01, 2017, 03:59:20 AM
Who's this Roger Ver guy Roll Eyes

You know, the next high-profile scammer to rage-quit because he can't force everyone into his scam-coin. Smiley

Lol... I heard that this guy owns around $1 billion worth of BTC, and yet he is supporting the Bitcoin Cash altcoin. I don't understand. Why he is trying to destroy BTC, while holding so many coins?

Owned* and definitely not a billion worth. Assuming he wasn't bsing, he claimed to have sold all of his bitcoins. I doubt anyone believes that though.

If he had sold that many coins, then how much could have been his tax bill? Oh... I forgot that he has renounced his American citizenship, and has moved to Saint Kitts and Nevis. And if I am not wrong, there is no income tax or capital gains tax in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
1349  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-31] btc-e-on refunds the fbi and alexander vinnik on: August 01, 2017, 03:42:57 AM
I don't understand any of this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2056158.0

They claim that Alexander Vinnik was neither the owner not the employee of BTC-e (perhaps a tactic to prevent further arrests). They also claim that all their coins are now confiscated by the authorities. If that is the case, then how they are going to process the refunds?
1350  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2017-07-31 Cointelegraph.com Bitcoin Price is Likely to Surpass $3,000 After Seg on: August 01, 2017, 03:39:00 AM
It is a no brainer. A lot of FUD has been spread around, and that is the reason why BTC is yet to cross the $3,000 per coin mark. But once the August 1 events unfolds without any negative consequences, this FUD will stop and the institutional investors will once again start pumping their money in to BTC. I expect BTC to be priced at $5,000+ per coin by the end of this year.
1351  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-31] Indian Bitcoin Exchanges Announce They Won’t Support Bitcoin Cash on: August 01, 2017, 03:37:00 AM
So what they are saying is that they will steal the free Bitcoin Cash coins from their users and credit them in their own wallets. I knew that many of these Indian exchange owners were crooks. And this incident just confirms it. Also see the timing of the announcement. They made the announcement after the withdrawals were frozen.

Regarding Sweden...

Don't forget in a few years all these "hen" will be under sharia. This is how Nature deals with the deviation of its reproduction program.

This is a part of the natural selection. If the Swedes prove that they are not intelligent enough to live on this planet, then they will be replaced by other people (may be Muslims from the middle east).
1353  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who else thinks that in Russia there is no dictatorship? on: July 31, 2017, 03:19:11 PM
The banning of VPNs and TOR browser is a retrograde step. But at the same time, Russia is not alone in banning their use. Even France has banned the use of TOR browser. Does that makes Emmanuel Macron a dictator?
1354  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next week, is that the last chance? on: July 30, 2017, 12:24:11 PM
People are wondering, the last week of July is the deciding whether you want to make a big profit, or you'll just miss it. For myself, I intend to sell some of my cryptoss, and hope to get a good entry point, but on the other hand I feel that last week's downtrend is the last one of this month, what do you think?

IMO, the prices of BTC can decline during the first 2-3 weeks of August. This may represent a great opportunity for noobs to enter in to BTC investment. I guess $2,000 per coin would be a good bargain.
1355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why BTC will never be over 30K on: July 30, 2017, 12:22:46 PM
Even $30,000 per coin means a ROI of around 1,200% from the current rates. That means an annualized return of close to 28.2%. This is no small amount. The average returns from the United States Treasury Bonds right now is between 2.75% and 3.50% per year (depending on the tenure).
1356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why you should keep hold of your BCC after Aug 1st on: July 30, 2017, 12:19:21 PM
Guys, I am going to hold my coins no matter what happens in August. I will keep them in cold storage for at least 3 months. I will think about selling or buying more, only after 90 days from the date I receive my BCC tokens. Taking some risk here. Either I will get a good ROI, or I will be left with zero returns.
1357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we see $50 ? on: July 30, 2017, 12:17:18 PM
I'm also amused by the fact that some people believe this. You have to be a completely new person in the bitcoin community to talk such nonsense. Bitcoin is a very strong coin and therefore the price will never drop to $ 50

Theoretically I can imagine a few scenarios, but the chances are less than 0.00001%. The OP went a bit too far in debating about a 99% drop in the exchange rates. If he had kept it to $1,000, then there would have been a more positive debate here.
1358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some theories about bitcoin price because of BCC airdrop on: July 30, 2017, 12:14:22 PM
It is going to have some effect and my guess that the BTC exchange rates are going to drop (at least temporarily).

Here is my guess:

1. At least half of all the BCC tokens will be dumped within the initial 30 days
2. The BCC supporters will dump their Bitcoins, and purchase these BCC tokens
3. #2 Will result in a surplus BTC holding for many of the users, who are going to sell at least part of these BTC to fiat.
4. #3 Will cause an over-supply of BTC in the market, dragging down the prices.
1359  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-29] btc-e domain seizure by us law enforcement sparks jurisdiction... on: July 30, 2017, 12:09:49 PM
Result is that thieves (US government) steal from other thieves (BTC-E)

In the end, it is the ordinary user who is going to suffer. I didn't had any BTC in my account, but I was having around 10 LTC, which were worth close to $450. All of that is now gone, thanks to the Americans playing world police.
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-e joint refund group on: July 30, 2017, 12:07:16 PM
Or more like he is running off with the coins now that their criminal activities have come to an end.

I don't believe the US will confiscate bitcoins from anyone who hasn't committed any illegal act as that would be illegal on their part.

I don't know. If Vinnik was actually involved in the criminal activities, then the chances are that Aleksey was also associated with at least some of the crimes. Anyway, he won't be able to stay aloof for too long. May be within a few days, we will hear about his arrest.
