1381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mineral Oil Mining Rig on: May 10, 2014, 11:44:15 AM
Is it true that putting your graphic card in mineral oil void the warranty? Anybody can confirm that please?
obviously if the card is still dripping oil when you rma the card, that's obvious the warranty will be voided...  Grin
However, cleaning the card with acetone should remove any trace of oil

LOL...That could remove some of the labeling and markings too...
1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mineral Oil Mining Rig on: May 10, 2014, 04:29:40 AM
This has been done in the past. Only issues are leakage, mold and mildew from the proteins in the oil and keeping the oil cool enough to be efficient.

Possible fire hazard, because it's an oil.

AMD GPU miner bounty is slowly getting more appealing...lol...I'm sure this is peaking someone's interest a bit.

But yea, you need to get this on exchange and also promote services/products for it to be seriously considered as a coin with a real future.

madMAx has release the XPM gpu miner as open source now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602292.0 .

So, I did remember the mentioning of open sourcing your miner if someone made theirs faster
[And again:] ... and we are not able to speed-up ours any further. Which is not the case.

I guess, well that was not the point, it was the principal in the mentioning of that. Thanks for doing what you could.

Good luck in the future on money making endeavors.

You are being too nice. Suck it primeGPU .. am I glad not to have put coins into trashbin. Talk is cheap, no updates till now to prove your point.

So now, perhaps you can speed it up with madMax's code.. Congrats.

That's the way I am; civil, honest, humble and respectful.

Lucky I made 4x the XPM when I bought the miner on day 2 of the release. I do feel bad for the late people buying it.

fpga

Where is these FPGA X11 miners?

Great that you embody what cryto currency envisioned in decentralization. Truly respectful and greatly appreciated.
1390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source XPM Pool + GPU Miner (aka. madPrimeMiner) on: May 10, 2014, 12:40:54 AM
If you still produce a miner, you can leave a donation % feature in it.
1391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Primecoin Pool + GPU Miner on: May 10, 2014, 12:38:12 AM
But again, it will be only temporary so there is at least one pool running at all.

In the long run i don't want to be bothered with DOS attacks or manage firewall settings all day long.
I think there should be multiple pools running and then the miner could be auto-switching in case one goes down.
And yeah solo mining of course.

That would be a nice feature of auto switching for pools, that would be a first for a XPM GPU miner. DDoS protection isn't cheap also.

What will the tentative time table when you will release a new version of the miner?
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What's you personal thoughts of the current XPM GPU miners currently out? on: May 09, 2014, 05:27:35 AM
Like the subject title is questioning your personal thoughts. People have conspiracy theories that some of the devs are holding back higher performance miners for themselves and such, just pure speculation at this point. But it begs to differ when madMAx came out with one that run 4.1~4.4 CPD on a 280x/7970 as the other ones are below 3 CPD, that does raise some questions. Also, MadMAx pool had to go down because of DDoS attacks and someone on ypool said that ozzy is behind it, but that could just be rumors.

What's you stance and position on this? Like to see some substantial evidence if any of this is true.
1393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus P5K Pro does not detect 3rd GFX card on: May 09, 2014, 05:20:50 AM
Most of those older Intel mobo's need a jumper on the 1x pci-e slot. I have a mining rig with a p35 with a core2 quad and had to run all 1x to 16x risers on all slot to make all the cards work. I tried to run 4 1x to 16x and one  16x to 16x, only worked for 2 cards.
1394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Primecoin Pool + GPU Miner on: May 09, 2014, 05:14:32 AM
Server is now crashing consistenly. Some bug in bitcoin function ConnectSocketDirectly is causing the issue.

This is just too much, i've been baby sitting this thing for over 48h straight now.

FINAL UPDATE: The pool will close. All balances will be PAID once they are mature. I WILL release a solo miner.

Need to sleep now...

You should just use beeeer or another one like it.
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Primecoin Pool + GPU Miner on: May 08, 2014, 10:16:29 AM
Alright guys, pool works again, this time properly fixed.

All the issues were cause by the ancient ulimit -n of 1024. Basically the server ran out of file descriptors and this caused the blockchain to go corrupt.
This is also why the DOS was so effective and why it crashed again once we hit >100 workers.

I set the ulimit -n now to 102400, more than enough  Grin

It's down again.

Any new news? Updates?
1397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Primecoin Pool + GPU Miner on: May 07, 2014, 10:28:14 PM
You should implement a solo with the same fee as the pool miner, just as a back up for situations like this.
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Primecoin Pool + GPU Miner on: May 07, 2014, 05:34:36 PM
Can please someone give link to catalyst 14.3?

14.4 works with this miner, just download at AMD's website.

2 x msi gaming r9 280x cards

Seems like the Intel Core cpu's have a GMP issue.

I'm having no issues like that with AMD or Core2 Quad cpu's.

Hey madMAX, I notice the share values change. How is that calculated? What's the value of 11-ch/higher or is it the same as 10-ch on the pool?
Yeah they change based on pool luck. They are calculated based on the blocks vs. shares found in the last 24h. Once the pool has more hashpower the share values should stabilize.
11-ch is the same as 10 because they are too rare to make an exception.

will work on catalyst 13.12?
Don't know. You can try, but it might be slower, so compare your results with other miners.

...
Isn't it required to use 14.3 or higher driver, he is using 13.2.
In this case juve4v has the same error and he uses 14.4 ... i'm looking for the bug right now.

That is strange, I've been running 2 hours plus without an issue. Maybe need to know their specs of their setup to see if the issue can be duplicated.
