501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 03, 2014, 11:52:03 PM
GPU plot generator v3.0.0

This version comes with a multi-GPU support and greatly enhance the global memory consumption (on both CPU and GPU side). I hope that it will fix the bad performances of NVidia cards (I need some feedback on that point).
This version also add a [verify] command to verify a plotted file against a reference file (a C-plotted file for example).

A big thank you to Palad1n for his help on the qualification phase of this version.
With this new version, we hit the maximum bandwidth of a standard mechanical HDD (around 20k nonces/minutes ~= 83MB/s).
We made a test with a SSD disk too, with only one R9 290x we touch the 33k nonces/minutes.

As the HDD is now bottleneck, there are two options:
  - Use faster hardware (SSD). It is up to you to test it Wink Feel free to share your experience on the forum (hardware configuration, nonces/minutes obtained).
  - Write to multiple disks at the same time (I will put this on the roadmap).

Changelog:
  - Multi-GPU support.
  - [devices.txt] configuration file added.
  - verify command added.
  - list command split in two (listPlatforms and listDevices).
  - More details added in listDevices command.
  - Correlation between <staggerSize> and <globalWorkSize> removed.
  - OpenCL error codes displayed for better debugging.
  - Details added in usages.
  - README updated and improved.
  - CHANGELOG file added.
  - CREDITS file added.
  - LICENSE file added.

Please read the README provided with both the binaries and the sources. As this version introduce new concepts, please read it carefully, especially the [SETUP] part.

Here are the binaries and the source code :

Would it be more beneficial for hdds to run in RAID arrays now, ie. RAID0? As for ssds, that not a very cost efficient alternative...lol.....I'll send you some burst and thank you for all the efforts, more likely the middle to end of next week.

Do you have the passphrase.txt file in the same folder as the poc miner?

Yes its in the same folder however I am generating plots at same time but the passhrase.txt file is in their

Did you run the run_address_dump.bat?

Is there a stable merge plot tool and/or plot optimization tool to change the stagger size?

BURST at 61 on Cryptsy, need more voters!!! Cheesy

Anyone get a similar issue with Blago's Windows miner: I have 3 plot files, but it seems just to use one for mining. Two of them are complete and one is incomplete because of a crash from the java miner cause a system restart. They are all properly staggered to avoid overlap also.

Miner check file name and file size, skipping incomplete.
just rename your incomplete file to correct name.

filesize (in Kb) / 256 = nonces

Ok, I'll give that a try. Thanks

It worked and I found a block just a while ago. Greatly appreciated Blago. I'll send you some Burst later in the week. The miner doesn't crash at all compared to the java one.

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of the java miner vs the C++ miner(s) on equal types of setups? At the moment, I'm doing C miner on 10.5TB and java miner on 14.5TB, so not really an equal comparison at the moment.

yes, Done it with my rigs. It depends on your rig specs.

What's your setup up and results? Just curious....

You people still trying to mine this crapcoin?  LOL.  I have had the most stress-free week ever.  No fighting with mining PCs, no constantly checking this forum topic, no coming home from work to see NO new coins in my account, etc.

My 10900-whatever coins are waiting in C-CEX for a price pop to be sold off, although I maintain that this crapcoin will never get over 500 satoshis again.  It is only the deluded idiots here that are keeping the price as high as it is.

My 10900 coins are for sale at 800 satoshis EACH.

I know this can be really, really difficult to understand but: 800 > 500

.....

I don't care about giving any of you people a good deal.  I only want maximum profit for me.

I know that my price of 800 is higher than my prediction that BURST will never get over 500 again.  I am hoping to find someone who cannot math properly.  Every coin needs a detractor who provides the counterpoint to any positive talk about the coin.  So far, I am CORRECT in my prediction of it never getting over 500 again.

So if you are so certain that this coin will go to 1000+, buy mine up now and be ready to make profits!

I will offer you all a deal.  Someone buys my 10930 BURST for 800 satoshis each, and I won't post in this topic anymore.

Someone said they had me on ignore.  Why?  Don't you value my thought provoking input that has proven correct so far?

People who lack vision should stay out of anything but well-established coins.

People who lack vision should also refrain from commenting about anything but well-established coins.  Because they have no vision.

Oh timk225, how convoluted your ideals are at times? Really, thought provoking or just personal judgement? You know you push more on personal judgement. Until you put up statistics, equations and/or factual facts, then your posts are still just your personal feelings/predictions towards the coin. I am mostly a very open minded person in general to an extent. You sound like the people who use to say that LTC(First Alt of its kind at the time) would never push above 75 cents and where does that coin stand at today? Patience is a virtue in crypto, but you have to balance that with timing/opportunity. Mostly everyone will agree; sell high, buy low on coins that are worth it. I hope you have success in the future without stepping on peoples feet and find that team work/working with people will give you greater gains in this world, money isn't completely everything in this life.

you ARE aware, that you're directly contradicting yourself here right?

First you say that you don't think the price will ever go above 500 (which is purely idiotic to think, if you look at the markets, it's pretty blatant, even to someone like me who doesn't know a shit ton about charts, that the price is going to go higher than 500, easily. In fact, the new base should be close around 500.)

Then you say, you're selling at 800, so by your own admission, you would say that your sale will never happen, right?

Once again, please tell me why you are here, if this is your thought on the coin?

timk225, what is your issue with burst? Do you have a complex disorder and/or bi-polar? If this coin is a crap coin as you are stating, why do you keep coming here? That's a contradiction and discredits yourself for people not trusting you. I get kind of annoyed by your post (so do others) and I have you on ignore, but still see it via other responding to it. Please go seek some help; maybe physiological therapy, take a martial arts class to take frustrations out/meditate, social behavior program and/or anything else to help you, minus drugs.

To buy or sell bitcoin on Coinbase, you must link your account to a US-based bank account, or a bank account based out of the following European countries:

Austria
Belgium
Cyprus
Finland
France
Greece
Italy
Malta
Netherlands
Latvia
Portugal
Slovakia
Spain

Currently it is not possible to use dwolla or Paypal, though we are working hard to expand these options in the near future.

I'm not from the listed country, but right now i'm trying to set up some US bank account through my friend, let see about that later

What country are you based in? It's easy for me because I live in the US in California. Coinbase is located/based in San Francisco, California.

UPDATE miner-burst (dcct, Blago) for Windows x64
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fb1rolahflwahnu/miner-burst-1.140929.zip?dl=0

+ In the log file added output strings sent and received by the server requests
+ Added a check sent deadlines to meet the specified minimum server (targetDeadline)
+ Counter sent and received requests reset after 1000 queries
+ In the log file added output of time reading and processing each file
+ Added correct handling of special characters in the password

Notes:
For MinerBurst's pools (V1 and V2) use parameter "poolV2".
Attention! In solo-mode miner writes password-string in the log file.

In future builds, will you mask the password in the log files?

Why can't you get a Coinbase account? That's what I use to buy and sell BTC.

in 17 days i minted almost 4.5 millions coins

started using 36 tb , arrived to use 667 TB , now i reduced my mining power as the other space is required to other purpose ... today so far (from 00:00 tp 11:27) i minted 4 blocks using 162 TB. Solo mining of course

wich kind of system/infrastucture for reach 667TB?
wich kind of controllers?
i do not think 667TB are linked by gigaethernet.

Wow, must be nice to have 667TB to use. lol

Why does Blagos need the passphrase for solo mining? The yuk's miner in the Guide for solo mining doesn't require a passphrase?

check the Dropbox link in both thread, this is actually both the same miner (from Blago)  Wink

I just notice that...lol

Still strange that it needs to locate the passphrase.txt to solo mine. I would think it just need the account number.
