1381  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: June 04, 2019, 01:31:12 PM
I don't think you understand what this thread is about. Yes, we see you're a shitposter. No, you cannot nominate yourself as writing shit posts so bad they are funny. Somebody else has to be the arbiter of that.

The Alien ships use sound to clear the path for their ships, it is kind of like how bats travel, it is really cool stuff they can tell if there is physical objects in front of them, They can go faster than light speed but run the risk of hitting objects if they do in non mapped zones. There is certain paths in space where they can hyper jump past light speed with the cone effect. Most of the time they travel a bit faster than sound speed like 2-3x sound speed as their sonar can register objects before they collide kind of like how bats and dolphins do. They have sats out in space mapping every bit of dust for their hyper jumps when they need to go faster than light.

At least he knows he's shitposting. This guy is either a troll or a nutter. Just go this in a PM:

Hey just curious why did you remove my post about bitcoin being traded for bits? It pertains to the bitcoin discussion

You know we just saved the entire race from slavery right, well can and will? Gave people the right to vote for themselves and stop being slaves to the banks, made duration/time cash able to be traded for btc, when we don`t even need btc but give Satoshi credit. I should not say we actually it was all Paul Busch from Bitswift and Lior Yaffe from Ardor. Sure I might of came up with the time/duration thing 5-6 years ago and the simulation of the ending of bitcoin/gold and why we need time as money but I did not code anything tho, just the messenger.

Don`t censor me please, When you see me in person you will have 0 chance to silence me. In fact I will yell louder the more you try to cover me. In the afterlife you will have 0 chance to silence me.

You may mod me here for a bit, but I mod you there forever.

Thanks.

He also has been able to produce the specific posts that have been reported when people are asking about their ban.
I assume hilariousandco can just view all reports, which makes it easy to find the specific post.

Bingo. I don't message anyone, but I'm also  - arguably - the most active moderator, or at least the one who is active in posting publicly, so people tend to go to me rather than the admins or anyone else.

1383  Other / Meta / Re: My account got banned and I want to know the reasons on: June 01, 2019, 06:38:41 PM
Asking the same question multiple times isn't gonna give you a different answer. Why don't you close your farm and leave this forum for good.
I am not seeing my problematic posts were pointed out there.
Instead of linking me with other accounts, why not you just give me what I exactly look for ? I am already out of this forum.

I believe knowing why I got banned is a basic right and it may hardly consume your one or two minutes. It is just like a last wish for a dying man.

Too find out more about Bitcoin, its uses and how to use it in my company aha. Also to talk with other Bitcoin users Cheesy
Yes me too. i have seen bitcointalk in my google search results but truly i found bitcointalk through a friend who introduced me to bitcoin and this forum. and now i am here to be involved in the bitcoin world and also find out about cryptocurrencies in general.

~snip~
First I can't stop laughing at the Huge Member - to good.

It was either that or Large Member. Now that I've thought about it maybe Massive Member would be even better. Alliteration always wins.

I'm not surprised it's been thought of, you tend to find a lot of the opportunities for improvement.

I am the smartest person. My uncle was a great professor at MIT for 40 years...but I'm smarter than him, I'm smarter than anybody*.

*Donald Trump quote. Don't ban me.

If the feature was to be implemented, It should also be limited to some specific boards as I see a situation were some users might misuse the feature as advert opportunities (i.e selling the pinned message spot to advertisers) I do observe same issue with platforms like Facebook and telegram with this feature.

I suppose that could happen, but I would find that not many people would have a thread that others deemed worthy of being advertised in, but if they do then maybe just allow it? Theymos already allows users to advertise in threads of importance so this would likely be a good barometer of that without him having to get involved on deciding what is and isn't notable. Alternatively, adverts could just be reported and staff remove them just like we do with off topic posts or ads. Users who repeatedly abuse the position could even be banned from doing so.
1385  Other / Meta / Re: ]Feature] Ability to Pin a message within a thread. on: May 31, 2019, 02:43:49 PM
Requested it before as have probably others. It would be helpful to pin rules of certain giveaways or threads (enforcing local rules and so on) to avoid unnecessary spam. For instance, I have a thread for the Bitcointalk Premier League pool with the local rule that only people who paid to play in it can use that thread as it's for discussion of the pool and results, but you obviously get people posting in there that didn't read the op. It would be helpful if that info could be pinned to the top of every page.

Please note: This thread is only for those who have paid to play in the pool.

The user that asked about his ban is also doing the same:

uts good project
, are you in touch with regulators and will you be granted the necessary licenses? I can imagine it is quite tough to get all the paper work done  five days when regulators are quite strict.

As for the fiat trading pairs, are you in touch with regulators and will you be granted the necessary licenses? I can imagine it is quite tough to get all the paper work done these days when regulators are quite strict.

but sometimes a member is permanently banned. I think without a reason.

I was invited to join the forum and I always follow him and I do not find any irregularities that belong to the forum. He
has been banned for some time and has sent the mail in the ban message many times without an answer.

There is no solution to this problem. ? And why the reason for the ban is not mentioned to

They were probably banned for the same thing you've been doing:

1389  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos - Request: Multisig addresses for treasurers on: May 28, 2019, 02:10:25 PM
What could be the reasons that Theymos and Cobra may disappear? I read in this thread and in the contract about the word "Disappear (if)"

Dying is a natural thing - what else?

Theymos has control over the server, Cobra has control over the domain if I'm not wrong.
Who else has access to this domain and server in absence of Theymos and Cobra? Shouldn't be there a plan B at least for the natural cause?

Moderators replied on almost all of ban appeal thread and reply the reason of ban. But wondering why moderators are silent on "tvplus006" case. At least we could see the plagiarism post that OP got ban for. We can't judge before know the mistakes. So we want to know what was the post/mistake ?

I don't know what it's for as there's no handled reports in the queue but I'm guessing it was probably for plagiarism.
1392  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal for over 5-year old account on: May 25, 2019, 01:48:57 PM
There's a fair few reports on you for plagiarism. Some are actually sourced like these:

Decred Team Announces Future Cross-chain Atomic Swaps With Litecoin
It is only a matter of time until we see the first cross-chain atomic swaps take place. By the look of things, these first trades may very well include Litecoin and Decred. It is evident the desired team is very excited to work together with Charlie Lee in this regard. Multi-chain atomic swaps will be implemented in the very near future. Good things continue to happen for Litecoin, although it will take some time until these creations come to fruition. This is also positive news for Decred supporters, as the currency can become a part of cryptocurrency history. More on  NewsBTC

Venezuelan Central Bank convened a symposium in which foreign exchange representatives, known as DICOM, and blockchain private sector experts took part. The discussions covered a wide range of topics ranging from the technical aspects of blockchain to practical guidance on the implementation of tokens.
One of the speakers was Ángel Salazar, CEO of the Venezuelan blockchain- OnixCoin company. He explained that the motive behind organising the meeting was to find a way of using the technical capabilities cryptocurrencies in order to strengthen the state economy. He suggested that the bank should issue cryptocurrencies as a strategy to alleviate the fiscal difficulties affecting society.

But most others aren't:

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has released nine more blockchain-related patent applications filed by Bank of America.

Data collected shows that the applications – which relate to conducting and settling transactions within a payment network – were all filed February 22. To date, Bank of America has filed more than 30 known patent applications related to the technology, including as many as 18 during 2016 alone.

Combined, the breadth of the applications suggests that work is being done on blockchain-based payment systems within Bank of America. At the same time, the bank has issued no definitive statements on the subject to date, and it's not clear whether any of the proposed inventions will see the light of day.

The mining process forms the most crucial part of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, as it is necessary to maintain the network and process transactions over it. However, profitable mining requires specialized hardware, loads of hashing power and electricity which is not affordable to everyone.
While setting up a mining farm, two critical things should be considered –the hash rate and cost of electricity. These two have continued to weigh down on investors and miners who would want to make profitable returns.
Mining using hydroelectric power seems to be the most efficient way to not only keep the electricity costs low but also to ensure impressive returns on the equipment used. In addition, hydroelectric power is considered to be one of the cleanest sources of energy which helps the mining operation reduce its carbon footprint, particularly in the time when people are concerned about the impact of cryptocurrency mining on the environment.

One of the biggest asset managers in the United States and major investor in the gold market, VanEck, is now entering the Bitcoin. The investment giant is currently managing an estimated amount of $38 billion in assets. The firm which was founded in 1955, has offices in the United States, Germany, and Australia, which in recent years has focused on precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum.

The market capitalization of Gold is about $7 Trillion, compared to the market cap of Bitcoin which is a little over $71 billion, Bitcoin appears relatively small. But VanEck believes that there still a lot of potential in the Bitcoin market.

Ethereum's Raiden Scaling Solution Just Passed Another Milestone

A test network has been deployed for the Raiden project, a proposed scaling solution for ethereum designed to allow faster payments and lower fees.

Revealed on the Raiden GitHub page yesterday, the testnet is a major milestone for the project, one that will lead to the next phase of development before the code is ready to launch on the live ethereum network.

As with bitcoin, scaling is becoming an issue for the number two cryptocurrency by market capitalization. As more users make more transactions, the amount of traffic has the potential to slow up the network. Compounding the issue is that many ICO tokens are being launched on top of ethereum, bringing in sudden floods of traffic as sales take place.

Great news! Swarm City is now on blockchain. After a recent hack where over 30 million in ETH were stolen from multiple blockchain projects, one project called Swarm City has started to get some recognition for having its wallet drained of 44k ETH. Mainstream media and lots of other press outlets have now shared the project’s name all over the place. I’d like to take the opportunity to provide more information that I’ve gathered about the project and its path forward and why I am excited to use its technology for our company Chasyr.

It's obviously not the worst kind of plagiarism and taking into account the other factors I'd say you're probably a net positive for the forum so I'll change the ban to 60 days and one year sig ban.

1394  Other / Meta / Re: Why were these reports marked bad? on: May 25, 2019, 09:52:08 AM
this post as belonging in currency exchange.

Is this guy actually selling physical cards? If not then they belong in Digital goods. Either way they don't belong in Currency Exchange. As for the first report it's probably better in Goods as he is selling two different things but that's a report I probably would have just marked 'handled' and took no action rather than marked it as bad.
1395  Other / Meta / Re: BAN Audi_A6. Cause? on: May 24, 2019, 01:13:13 PM
You did not ask the simplest question - Why should I make excuses? Where does this arrogance come from? What is my fault? Is everyone guilty and must prove the opposite? You have not heard of the presumption of innocence? This is the basis of the law. Very sorry. In vain lost so much time. And now you put me in the position of a fraudster who must be justified. I have nothing to justify. If I am guilty, show me this and close this topic. Please unlock my account or show me my guilt. Where can I turn with this question? Isn't this topic enough? Please give a link. Thank.

Where does your arrogance come from? This isn't a court of law and we're not going to give you a jury trial. It's a forum with rules and rules you seemingly broke or didn't read. You were caught ban evading with the proof above and have been punished for such. If you want to appeal then do what I said. Not going to argue with you about it.

1396  Other / Meta / Re: BAN Audi_A6. Cause? on: May 24, 2019, 12:47:00 PM
Thanks for your reply. This is really fun. I remember this guy from our student hostel. He told me about crypto.

We've heard all these excuses a thousand times before. Contact an admin about it as they have access to more info to investigate it and maybe they will unban you.

Hello. I created another account to contact the administrator in the META section.
Please indicate to me the reason for blocking my account. Thank.
Hi, I see the profile you are still installing signature,

AUDI_A6

It looks like your account is not blocked or banned.

From where do you know what your account is blocked, there is a sending of gmail to you that your account is banned by: theymos.

The way whoever issued the ban didn't do it the standard way. They issued a temp ban but set it to never expire so the signature will still show.

Every investment opportunities that exists in our society today involved risk and no system of investment that existing is as good as bitcoin today. Bitcoin has proved to be a very good way to make serious money as its represent the future of money. If you put few dollars into bitcoin today there is no way you will not double your investment in no time.

It is true but if you are in for bitcoin in a long run, that risk is nullify.  If you study the market and how big bitcoin market is, the saturation and the number of people getting involved, I do not think that Bitcoin posses a risk if we hold it long enough to multiply its price value.  Looking back at those days when bitcoin is just 100 USD or when bitcoin falls down after the 2013 bubble, if people just hold and did not sell their bitcoin, they should have taken 400% profit if they sold it now.
Bitcoin is not without risk. People in bitcoin who are in for long time understand that there is a big risk. However with big risk there is big profit. The amount of profit or return on investment from bitcoin is unparalleled.  Nobody knows what would happen in future either crypto may get more momentum or it may lose its existence as well. Who knows? But people are bidding on bitcoin will continue to grow further. Thus any time is good time to invest in bitcoin. Just make sure to HODL long. You are referring to the mt. gox incident where  bitcoin lost it valuation. As you mentioned bitcoin came strong will continue to grow strong. Given the situation the bright perspective.
Risk is in every business but here in bitcoin margin to the loss is bit low, the main thing is bitcoin is not dumping every time and this happens in crypto no one can predict future but bitcoin give guaranty to the profit so it is more wise to invest in the most profitable and valuable coin of the era so invest without hesitation and keep faith you will be blessed.

Saw today how I was banned for "spam/plagiarism". No further details.

Im not very active anymore but I need to answer PM's... I have no idea what's going on.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=381086

Permabanning and blocking all pm's... a bit extreme if you ask me. No mercy for people that posted here for years? I reckon I never had any problems with anyone.

I unbanned you and issued a year sig ban instead. I'll give you the weekend to reply to PMs then issue a 60 day ban (which is pretty much normal practice for plagiarism cases now).
