1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-E HACKED on: August 05, 2016, 09:21:44 AM
nothing wrong with BTC-E as an exchange service they are safe so far.

and the same thing like OP has happened to me before, it is our own fault. i was using a simple password (something like 123) and i used it in a lot of other places and my reason was that i wasn't using BTC-E back then so i used a fast simple pass.
the funny thing is that the hacker was loging in every day to check my balance lol and each day he was disappointed becasue it was the same as yesterday: a big fat ZERO
1382  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be sure, this will drop hard soon... and here is why... on: August 05, 2016, 09:18:00 AM

yes, you are right, yesterday when I saw the price at $516 and I found that t is because of bitfinex hack, then I thought that it will once again rise sooner and so I bought some bitcoins at that price, I was a little worried about my investment also but today when I visited to price i saw that the price is now at$536, that is a very good news for me and I earn a profit even in a bad situation for the bitcoin market

Today, the price is $570. I think there is nothing wrong with the bitcoin itself, just one exchange, so the price will rise again.
You are right, this panic is not real, that is just one exchange and it will not affect the majority of users as we also have a lot of reputable big exchanges. Actually, we are going to be back to $600 shortly and I hope it will not stay on that price as the halving is not giving us a positive result.

I heard the hack was due to a bug in the use of the BitGo wallet. Many exchanges use the same technology.

many people are only speculating about the situation with bitfinex's hack but i have not seen any proof of thing you hear around the internet. i personally suspect an inside job was the reason for the hack and that wouldn't be the first time either.
1383  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price drop on: August 05, 2016, 09:10:42 AM
I do not see any price drop at the moment. The price of bitcoin is very stable. It is preparing for the next rise.
because there is no price drop at the moment, in my opinion the price of the bitcoin is going to go up only right now, though anything might happen

I believe the bitcoin will consolidate at the current level for a few more months. After that, it will rise further.

The bitcoin price is consolidating around th e$570 range now. It might rise faster after the exchange hack.

yeah the buy power is there but unfortunately there are sell walls that are preventing the rise. and these sell walls are of the kind tha whales put up not normal sell walls because of bigger supply. so i am expecting a big breakout soon.
1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] How Manipulated is Ethereum ? on: August 05, 2016, 09:02:22 AM
ethereum has started as a huge manipulation from the start and continued to be in this way up until today.
i sometimes even get the feeling that ETC is the same (follow up) manipulation by the whales.
who doesn't want to markets to pump and dump. today they pump ETC and tomorrow they will dumpt it and move to ETH and the next week back to ETC and so on until the coin is dead.
1385  Other / Off-topic / Re: What can i do with 3 Bitcoin? on: August 05, 2016, 08:56:43 AM
you should tell your friend not to give you his money because you obviously have no idea what to do with 3BTC and how to earn a profit on it in one month.

you should first try and learn how to make profit with your own money then take other people's money to work with.
1386  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kim Dotcom Predict 2000$ per Bitcoin ??!! on: August 05, 2016, 08:50:25 AM
He has almost 500k Twitter followers, so wether or not his new idea succeeds, it's very good publicity Smiley
No guarantee of course that anyone would use his service, because of what happened with Megaupload..

yeah it is always good to see good publicity like this instead of all that negativity that the media is spreading all around about bitcoin.
and i agree that there is a breakout coming and yout should make sure to get in on board before it happens because when the price goes up it will be quick.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton Pledges Support for Blockchain on: August 05, 2016, 08:45:14 AM
She didn't say she support bitcoin.

Not sure if she understands what blockchain really means, but I think she was just expressing her support for the development of new technologies, which include blockchain technology.
Yeah, I think this is pretty much the case, this doesn't really have anything to do with Bitcoin.
Blockchain =/= Bitcoin

I'm not a fan of her (also not a Trump fan), but I'm not able to vote for her anyway since I'm not in the US.

yeah, people like to exagerate the news most of the time and believe that government is on board with bitcoin and what it has brought to us. but they have not shown any interest in "bitcoin" itself and instead have been trying forever to seperate the technology and use it for their own good.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitfinex Hacked] So , learned the lesson ? on: August 03, 2016, 05:26:36 PM
i can never undestand how these exchanges lose this many bitcoin all in one place. i mean 119000 bitcoin is not a small amount.
if they have lost thousands or even tens of thousand i could undestand it, but how can you keep 119000BTC=75,000,000$ in one place and not protect it with all your life.

unless of course this is all a show, and there was no hack. they simply moved the funds to their other pocket and said we were hacked haha.
1389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you be happy repeatedly flipping a coin with an opponent to gamble? on: August 03, 2016, 05:00:33 PM
i find it interesting enough that i want to actually try it.
and mostly because of the 50/50 chance and only two results of head or tails unlike dice which has a lot of numbers.
i would like to try martingale strategy on that system to see how it is going to work on suck restuls.

i feel like it may not be that different but i am intrigued to try it out.
1390  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: bitcoin hyip are they a gamble? on: August 03, 2016, 04:56:47 PM
all the bitcoin hyips are out there and people are afraid to invest in them because " its too good to be true" ?

Well let me share with you that i have made alot of money on these hyips because you need to know when to come into them.

Let me give you an example with hashocean , they operated for a long time . I made alot of money with them because i was there in the beginning i deposited a bitcoin over a year ago there , and everyday i would get 0.02btc for over a year thats about 7 bitcoins .
I always new they were a gamble but lets face it everyone knows . Its just about getting in at the right time.

Once i made my initail bitcoin back everything afterwards was just pure profit.
I never reinvested because i did not know how long it would last .
Most good sites last quite awhile especially the ones that have advertining as well on there sites.

I found a new one that came out a few days ago and has paid our everything so far .

Is it a risk ? for sure , but there are good odds of it making you money because its so new .
***

it IS a gamble.
and it IS high risk
and no it has terrible odds.

both HYIPS and cloudmining that you mentioned are the same risky business and has terrible odds of winning. becasue they are scams whether you like it or not they have made these websites to rob you blind.

it doesn't matter if you have made profit on hashocead (if you are in fact telling the truth), it doesn't change any facts. you were lucky as in winning the jackpot.
there were hashocean, blahblah-hash, blahblah-mining, and many more but the first one could fool more people so it could stay alive longer and that is something you never know when going in so you are taking a huge risk.
1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Bitcoin price is going Down....Any changes in your plan? on: August 03, 2016, 04:51:36 PM
Hello Everyone,

Since last 1 week, The Bitcoin price is going down. Last week it was 650$+, Now 550$+. I don't know for what reason it is going down. So because of this price down, is there any change in your future plan?

you should visit some other places instead of just gambling day and night, and you will undestand why price has been going down.
besides this downward trend has been happening less than 24 hours not since last week. the last week was a temporary drop which was normal the big drop of today is because of bitfinex hack.

and to answer your question. there is no change in my plans. i will continue earning bitcoin and i will continue spending it based on how much i earn.
1392  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do with my signature campaign earnings ? on: August 03, 2016, 04:48:14 PM
You can earn more by putting it on some of the sites online who are offering added profit every day or every hour. They are called HYIPs. The only problem on these sites are after some amount of time, theres a tendency that they will scam you. Every HYIP do that. Even the top HYIP online. Even the highest profit given every hour. You can also invest your money on Trading sites. The best place to invest. The higher the capital, the higher the profit.

sadly this forum allows investor based games aka HYIPS which i don't really get why and it makes some people think they are really an investment. but in fact they are bad because they are all scams. and it is a simple thing. they are created by the owners to scam people, to take your money with the lie that there will be profit daily, hourly,... and they take your money and run away when they could gather enough.
1393  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to keep safe when verifying ID? on: August 03, 2016, 04:41:56 PM
You could try watermarking your ID. But make sure you use an application that will make it irremovable. You could even go to their customer support and ask them to generate their own passphrase that you will watermark with.

if you want to do this one, just make sure to first check with the site that you want to send your ID to . because most of them are sensitive about these stuff and don't like any edited or distorted scans. and adding a watermark to your scan may be considered an edit and reject it.
1394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ALTCOIN? on: August 03, 2016, 04:38:00 PM
I am a newbie, just want an overview of what altcoin is and how can we earn thorugh it?

you can use google to find better answers and faster answers to these general questions: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+altcoin

but in short, altcoins are alternative+coins also known as alternative cryptocurrency which are altenate to bitcoin. you can mine and also trade them on different exchanges just like bitcoin (mining has many differences though).
generally since it is an open source community anybody can copy bitcoin or other altcoins code and make changes to them, or even start their own new project based on others and create a new coin.
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHo will win - ETH or ETC? on: August 03, 2016, 04:31:28 PM
neither, both will overstay their welcome and are just becoming tradable shitcoins which will just be used for riding waves, with no actual real world usage.

That's what I am thinking too.

It seems to me, that the only thing keeping ETH/ETC hot right now is the battle between them.

i agree, that and also the huge pump and dump which is going on right now with this massive trade volume has created a lot of heat which obviously attracts a lot of attention from investors since nobody dislikes a big pump like this!

1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex - lost 65m (£49m) in HACK on: August 03, 2016, 04:22:51 PM
why do people keep saying 65 million.
bitfinex was hacked (or stole) 119,000 bitcoin which was nearly 75 million by the time of the hack. even with $600 it is 71.4 million.

Unfortunately it's highly unlikely that the Bitfinex users will receive back any significant amount - unless someone finds 100k+ BTC under his sofa... Wink The most realistic scenario for Bitfinex is bankruptcy. I doubt that it will be possible to find a buyer that will reimburse the losses. The amount is too high and the Bitfinex trading system has been now been proven to have security flaws. Nobody is going to pay $60m for that.

Even if the CFTC regulations prohibited cold storage that's no excuse for the security practice at Bitfinex. They could have used a proper multisig setup - apparently they did use multisig indeed, but they did not effectively oversee the safekeeping of the keys.

nobody is going to do anything for bitfinex sine they were just another unlicensed exchage site opperating without any legal license!

Quote
Now most likely another wave of media FUD will start, portraying Bitcoin as unsafe and a hacker's paradise. However I doubt the consequences will be as bad as after the Mt.Gox disaster, since the number of informed people is a bit higher now and the losses are less extreme. Hopefully all other exchanges will improve their security measures as a result.

the media is going to have a field day with their click-bait articles but i don't think they have any effect any longer.
and i also doubt that other exchanges will change anything. because it is not the first time a hack like this happened!!
1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or a gold bar with the same value? on: August 03, 2016, 04:15:10 PM
i will always take bitcoin for sure.
because unlike gold i can store 10BTC or around $5500 worth in a small piece of paper but i can never store $5500 dollar worth of dollar in my pocket and it will never be safe Smiley

and not to mention the bitcoin price has a lot of room to grow in the future, unlike gold which is not really going to the moon.
1399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this true? beginners in gambling are the luckiest? on: August 01, 2016, 12:33:33 PM
Hi, friends my first told me that he was a first timer in gambling and he won 2 times in a row and i was amaze because he's only a beginner and won easily  Huh Huh beginners luck is true or not?

if you are thinking about it logically then this should not be true. it means in a provably fair system and on a casino that is not robbing you, you should have the same chance as an old gambler or a new member. and maybe the new members don't feel the loss when the lose in gambling, because they are still fresh.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What stuff you buy when you win gambling? on: August 01, 2016, 12:28:40 PM
it really depends on how much i am going to win in gambling, so far the amounts that i have won aren't so big to buy anything big so i have only transfered them to my wallet and they got mixed with the rest of the coins and the only thing i have bought with bitcoin is games so far.
