even though <<< whoever you think is to blame >>> almost totally fucked up and killed bitcoin,  it seems like we'll be able to move forward.  Great days are ahead.  Main stream hasn't even gotten on board yet.  I'm thinking Bitcoin will be $100k within 10 years.

HODL!!!
Hope you are right about it,
But for me $100k in the next 10 years seems so unrealistic/

its less than 2 orders of magnitude.    How many people on the street out of 100 do you think know about bitcoin, let alone have any

the correct question is "how many people on the street do you think want to invest in bitcoin"
otherwise many have heard about it, even many have gone and did some research about it but not that many were willing to invest. many are scared of it being unregulated, many scared of it being in a bubble, many fall for the FUD that always exist,....
and that is why the adoption have always been slow.

Mass population will only want to invest in Bitcoins if media and influent people start promoting it (or governments). Biggest part of population are like sheeps leaded by someone who has control over them. It works like this in almost all camps: music, movies, fashion... Just sometimes the establishment loses control over the flock.

i disagree.
the examples you gave are "spending their money" on music, movies, fashion,... and yeah for that they are sheep.
but when it comes to investing their money i have seen people be more careful, although still reckless in some cases. but in total they are mostly scared and not willing to invest when they see the high volatility combined with all the FUD repeating bitcoin is dead, gonna drop, etc.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Considering a Trx Today, What is an Appropriate Miner's Fee? on: May 24, 2017, 03:05:32 AM
you should start using a wallet that gives you two main things:
- an accurate estimation of the fees
- ability to make RBF transactions.

the first one is going to be more than enough, if the wallet is suggesting good estimated fees you would never have to change the fees with RBF, Core and Electrum are the two that i know does this properly. and for RBF the electrum is pretty easy to use.
you just click on the transaction and click increase.

624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convert the bitcoins to USD or any money and load it to a credit card? on: May 23, 2017, 07:55:55 AM
you can use Cex.io and they do support credit cards. you need to make an account and verify your identity to be able to sell bitcoin and receive the money in your credit card.

Tried but unable verify my card yet.
rejected twice.. not sure why..

My card is from Payoneer. May be that is a problem?

according to their website they don't have any problem with "virtual cards" such as Payooneer. they even mention it by name, so the problem must be with your verification process. try contacting their support staff and see if you can fix it.

625  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC be at $5,000? on: May 23, 2017, 04:02:13 AM
if you asked me this 2 months ago i would have said it will take about 2 years to reach $5000 but now with the things i have seen i have to say it is too hard to say when!

the mainstream adoption has became much faster with legalization of bitcoin in Japan and consequently in other countries. and we can see how the price is reacting to the news. but we still have a big obstacle called the block size debate in front of the rise, it can slow it down and even halt it.

so if it is solved within reasonable timing and in best way possible we can see $5000 in less than 4-5 months
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convert the bitcoins to USD or any money and load it to a credit card? on: May 23, 2017, 03:50:45 AM
i have never seen any wallet have this feature built it, that is a little strange to have in a bitcoin wallet!

in order to convert to fiat you need to go to a place and sell bitcoin to receive fiat. these places are called exchanges. you can use Cex.io and they do support credit cards. you need to make an account and verify your identity to be able to sell bitcoin and receive the money in your credit card.
627  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Withdrawal / Deposit issues. on: May 23, 2017, 03:34:47 AM
their servers are overloaded and they refuse to upgrade despite the fact that they are making millions each day! and that is the stem of all the problems this exchange has an apparently since none of their users want to leave the platform they always get away with it.

you can search and find a lot of other topics like yours. you can also find a lot more from older days with same problems, this is not new and people keep going back for some reason that i can not understand :\
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc38 trading above $2000 on: May 23, 2017, 03:27:32 AM
the Chinese seem to be catching up to the rest of the world now. i think it is even possible that because of what Japan did, their Public bank started to speed up the process of regulation of these exchanges so that they can come back faster.
and don't forget that Chinese were never out of the game. the volume coming from China from OTC trading has been pretty high ever since their exchanges closed down.
629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wish I didn't dump at $2000 on: May 23, 2017, 03:09:23 AM
I wonder what John Titor would say about Bitcorns...

In the future the only currency is potatoes, stock up now!

Well played John Titor well played in the future we will all be potatoheads, I wonder if potato based toys count or lay's potato chips to the alt currency market then ^^.
Also that was a fast rise May 13 to 23nd 10 days huh ^^.

no all the toys such as Mr PotatoHead and all side products like chips will be considered as a fork of potato and needs the miner's chef's consensus to be made!
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is worth $2,350 in Japan and S. Korea (2nd and 3rd largest exchange markets) on: May 22, 2017, 03:45:34 AM
As always, Western exchanges would be trailing behind and big market players in the East would be the trend setters. Also, this shows how positive the reception is from the people of the said countries after their governments gave rhe green flag for bitcoin trading. This is a nice start towards future movements.

it is mainly because the eastern exchanges mostly having Japanese demanding customers and that is a large demand and western exchanges still have the same demand which went up a little compared to them.
it will balance itself out though, soon.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I am stupid? on: May 22, 2017, 03:39:17 AM
the transaction fee is calculated based on the size of your transaction not how much you are sending and the size is in bytes as in the data that you are sending out.

your transaction size was big and that is why you had to pay a larger fee it was 3473 (bytes) nearly 3.5 kilo bytes!

and also your transaction won't be confirmed because you are spending 2 outputs that are not yet confirmed! and it gets worse, those 2 outputs are also spending 2 unconfirmed outputs!
so until these previous ones are confirmed, yours wont't.
632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Alt2alt || alt2BTC on: May 22, 2017, 03:24:54 AM
it depends on a lot of things. for example if that other alt is on the rise or not, if i can find an alt on the rise or not and more.

for example if i have ethereum and i feel like it is the end of this pump then i sell it immediately, but the bitcoin i get will remain there until i find another altcoin. if i see another on the rise i will invest in it righ away but if not i will wait until i find it.

but sometimes i also see another opportunity like an alt that has not been pumped yet and has the potential of going up 500% so i dump my over pumped altcoin for example i dump eth and invest in that altcoin to gain the bigger profit.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin & Altercoin under attack by FIAT ? on: May 22, 2017, 03:17:00 AM
The market cap has doubled in less than 1 month to reach 72b$ since Japan has legalized the status of Bitcoin, which produces a high injection of FIAT liquidity. What do you think of this situation ?

Are Banks injecting unlimited FIAT to control limited cryptocurrencies Huh Is the sign of a next financial crisis ?

haha, if they attack like this we will soon replace their system with bitcoin Cheesy

but no, you are overthinking things. bitcoin is growing because as you said Japan legalized it and that led to a massive increase in Japanese volume rushing to buy bitcoin and the rest of the world has been reacting to the news too. they are also buying bitcoin and a couple of other countries are taking the same legalizing path.

and as for altcoins, this happens almost every year when they get pumped and take a lot of money from bitcoin invesstors not anybody from outside, and go up a lot into bubbles. and then they pop and die slowly until next pump round.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should be decentralized even further on: May 21, 2017, 09:43:41 AM
I think the best solution isn't only change algorithm once, but change/update algorithm regularly every few years to prevent company from creating new ASIC. But, i think this won't happen.

Indeed.  But that's not bitcoin any more.  This is a new cryptocurrency, that needs a central hard fork policy.  Ethereum, DASH and monero are such central hard forking currencies.  Bitcoin has no central hard forking tradition and hence has no mechanism in place to "change the constitution", but of course nobody stops anyone from making an alt coin forking off bitcoin.

it has already happened a couple of times actually!
there is one active one currently in altcoins that has forked from bitcoin, the name is even similar it was "bitcoin something that i forgot" Smiley
and the funny thing is that they all fail to exist for any meaningful time.
635  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is exhange the best low fee for trand? on: May 21, 2017, 03:32:24 AM
Do you mean Bitcoin/Altcoins exchanges trade fee (they have like 0.00001BTC on any trade exceeding 0.001BTC, which isn't much),

i think a bit of clarification is needed:
the trading fee (Bitcoin/Altcoins exchange fee) is a percentage of your order size not a fixed amount so if you for example buy 10BTC worth of an altcoin you have to pay 0.02BTC as fee if the fee is 0.2%
and if you buy 0.01BTC then you have to pay 0.00002BTC fee
636  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just Blew By on: May 21, 2017, 03:23:24 AM
this is really unbelievable!
if you look through my post history i have probably rediculed the idea of reaching $2000 this soon and said it may reach in early 2018 or if we are lucky at the end of this year. but it seems like this current rally is no longer stopable!
there is a lot of fresh money coming in, and with more rise a lot more fresh money comes in to buy bitcoin.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This could be big: US Government considering accepting bitcoin payment on: May 21, 2017, 03:09:33 AM
this may be a start though! i wouldn't get my hopes up but i do believe that after what Japanese did and accepted bitcoin as a legal way of payment many countries have become softer towards bitcoin and a couple of them even are considering doing the same. so it wouldn't be such a strange thing if US finally did that someday too.

Call me skeptical but as a rule of thumb it should be safer not to attach your real identity to your Bitcoins or your Bitcoin wallet. It goes against the anonymous or pseudonymous nature of the cryptocurrency. All the beauty and brilliance of the design is gone the moment you surrender your real identity just because the US government requires you to do so.

i agree but at the same time i don't get "why".
because we are already using banks and our identity is attached with each money transaction that we make and this has been the way for years.
now bitcoin is also money, so even if our identity is attached to one of our many bitcoin addresses linked to a small portion of our bitcoin holding, separate from the main stash i don't see any problem with that.

You do not really get it, do you? The United States government could find some things in the blockchain that could put
you in a terrorist watchlist. What if the Bitcoins you hold are a few transactions connected to a wallet that is active in the dark market or a wallet that bought weapons. Not only is this bad for you but also because of public perception on the US government's actions, it could also hurt Bitcoin's fungibility.

no i really don't get it.
because with that logic 90% of the users of coinbase platform should already be on a terrorist watchlist because at some point some transactions linked to some shady activity can be received in their wallets and they spend it.
or worst, buy from from coinbase and spend it somewhere which then it goes to some shady activity!

and the same goes for fiat. the dollar bill you have in your hand could have been involved with some illegal drug cartel so should you really be on a terrorist watchlist because you have a "dirty money" in your pocket?
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: May 21, 2017, 02:53:23 AM
for me the problem is all the people who i once told about bitcoin coming back to me and start talking about their regrets! and i have warned them this day will come and they laughed at me Smiley

but i can't help but find this situation a bit bad because people are showing that their only interest is when price goes up and they can make profit, they don't show much interest in bitcoin sometimes.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should be decentralized even further on: May 20, 2017, 03:17:58 AM
How to forbid people to create big mine businesses as it's decentralized? The decentralization allows people to create businesses strong enough to control the decentralized world... If there is someway to forbid/don't allow this, it's because it's not 100% decentralized...

To say the truth, I never saw anything really decentralized, Bitcoin is the first thing I'm seeing, it's a experiment for the world history to test if it really works or not.

you don't have to forbid it to prevent centralization.
it can be the other way too, like having mining power coming from other places. for example i know that Georgia has started to show a lot of mining power lately and has been becoming big.
imagine if we had mining farms coming from a couple more countries in the world, that would automatically spread things. and it is like this now but the others are small compared to mining farms in China and they need to get bigger.
640  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Place Orders Before Time on: May 20, 2017, 03:07:37 AM
i do all of them!
because it mainly depends on the altcoin that i am trading, for bitcoin i am just buying and holding. but for altcoins i buy at current price most of the time and never place an order to wait, then i wait a short period of time which is usually a couple of hours to half a day and dump them for a big profit and get out before it is too late.
but on rare occasions i hold the altcoin (like litecoin) when i buy at the bottom during accumulation and then dump it after the pump comes.
