145  Other / Beginners & Help / How much has the lock-down due to the pandemic been able to benefit you? on: April 05, 2020, 06:42:56 PM
it's no longer news that most countries are still experiencing the lock-down rule, most especially for those that are trying to curtail the further spread of the COVID-19.
Those who want to be busy still, even while trying to stay safe are staying glued to the internet trying to learn one or two things and to probably work from home.

This is a period where we now have more time to learn new things, most especially those who still need to get accustomed to how this forum works.
Since I am not going to work offline for this period, I have been able to have more time for myself, to move around this forum, visit different sections and threads, to read more than typing. So, that when I later get busy with my offline work, after the whole pandemic might have subsided, I would be able to find things much easier than I used to.

Time management, therefore, is very essential.

So, as a newbie or an already established member, how have you been able to manage your time on this forum?

However, I would like to use this opportunity to show my sincere concern for those who are already affected by the pandemic, I wish you all quick recovery. One thing I want you to know is that there is nothing without a beginning that does not have an end. There will surely be an end to COVID-19 soon.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is What Vitalik Sees For Ethereum in the Years to come on: April 04, 2020, 04:14:18 PM
It is good to plan ahead, but I am still dazed at what made him to give the initial promise of launching an Ethereum 2.0 since he knew he was not ready. I believe most of us know what that led to, particularly in late 2018 and early 2019. A lot of people were expecting it would actually be launched, but unfortunately, we heard it had been postponed. the coin pumped at that time, whales took advantage of the moment and some accused that Valik sold most of the ETH he was holding. I just hope he will hold unto his word because that is what lovers of ETH will be earnestly expecting to happen.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will this have any impact or not? on: April 04, 2020, 03:06:28 PM
What's going to happen if CZ and binance start getting rid of some projects on Coinmarketcap? Especially those with bad volume and Liquidity and also dead projects, because many are on coinmarketcap, what do you think this will do for crypto space? Will it have any impact or not?

CMC requires a cleanup exercise. The platform needs to be sanitized of projects that are not contributing anything meaningful to the crypto space. Some of them are adding volume and they are fake. So, we need a situation where there will be real volume and real market cap, with functional projects and exchanges.
In a bid for newbies and new project team not to be deceived, there is a need for it.
When CZ final gets it, he knows what to do. Using his centralized power is what I will not support.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A statistical table of bounty campaigns run on Bitcointalk on: April 04, 2020, 02:52:29 PM
At this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5235688.0 the OP assume (no evidence provided) that 90% of bounty campaigns are scam. Most of comments agree with OP but there are still against opinions. Why we don't create a statistical table of bounty campaigns run on Bitcointalk to see the truth? Honestly I'm not good at mathematical statistics and don't know how to start with it, but some of you can do that. Guess that you will have free time to do that when you stay at home because of the virus ( i don't want to talk about it anymore).  A table like that will stop the debate and maybe we will have some solutions for bounty campaigns, such as if a bounty manager had  90% of his campaigns scam, we put negative trust on him and call people don't join his campaign. not work.

I respect that opinion. Also, as far as I reckon with what you said, I can assure you that it is never going to be an easy job. Whoever does it need to be well compensated because, he would have to spend a lot of time and energy on it, aside from other things that may not be mentioned.
See, there are lots of bounty campaigns on this forum, both past and present and it is a long history.
I would suggest you also learn how to do it. Learning the process is not difficult and there are different statistical methods that can be applied. Doing the job itself is the real work.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying low selling high ain't always successful on: April 04, 2020, 09:34:27 AM
It's really easy to say but executing that very desire is harder than you could ever imagine I remember when I venture into this space earlier 2016 my mentor then was always giving signal and then he said buy low and sell high but I always buy low and sell lower lol

That mistake occurred probably because you bought a total shitcoin. buying low and selling high is very possible, particularly when you are dealing with a top coin. there are top altcoins that you can deal with, successfully, even while still practising how to buy low and sell high. Also, you thought you had bought low, but you never waited to see the price stabilized before buying.. A coin might be low and in the next few minutes or seconds, you see it going lower further. It means going into that might be a grave mistake. Wait to let it stabilize around a particular price, but not when it has really gon uptrend.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto currency ready for next season??? on: April 04, 2020, 08:46:51 AM
After some surge in price value from the past few weeks the price is slowly increasing, Is that a sign of Bull??

BTC showed some positive signs followed by other altcoins, lookalike this is the best time for Investing before halving and we are almost nearing it. Guys if ETH goes above $150 I am sure it will bounce back harder...

Hey! Never see a market that is moving uptrend as the best time to buy, except you feel like taking the risk. What were you doing when the price was low, most especially when the market was red. That should have been the best moment for you. It is better you see another red, some even heavy red before buying, else you might end up not getting what you desired If you buy a pumping market and the price comes down again, you will start feeling the pain and that might cause you to take another wrong decision if care is not taken.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Ethereum Wallets on: April 04, 2020, 06:40:33 AM
MEW used to be the best Ethereum wallets, specially for those we can't afford hardware wallets. And with the split, MyCrypto takes over. I guess we can't categorically call them best wallets, I mean it is still up to us on how to learn how to protect them. We can used the most expensive and sophisticated wallets out there but if we don't practice safe security, our tokens can be hack or stolen by cyber crooks.
MEW has never had a security issue and this wallet is always the first choice for all investors in this market. In addition, I often use the Trust Wallet at my phone for easier management because this is the safest wallet protected by Binance and I have used it for over 1 year.

Of course there are many options for you and should learn to protect your own property.
I think this is one of the biggest news in 2018, Myetherwallet warns that a couple-of its DNS-Servers have been hacked.

So I wouldn't say that there have been no security issues in the past. Although is it still the most widely used wallet for a lot of us, but it is good that we are aware that it could be a target for hackers or scammers.

The announcement did.t mean that MEW itself was hacked, it was the DNS server. While it was announced I was still using MEW with no fear and I never got hacked and till today I, I am still happily using MEW. Perhaps the reason I did not fall into such trap was that I already bookmarked it and there was no cause for me to use a phishing site of MEW.
I can still ascertain that it is of cause one of the best ever.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toilet Paper Token in Yobit on: April 03, 2020, 09:32:05 PM
This exchange is a joke. It is not funny anymore, some guys are literally buying this token and yobit is making money on it. It costs several bucks to create an ERC-20 contract, but to fool yobit users for 1000 time is priceless.

I am not surprised that Yobit could come up with a thing like this, taking advantage of the undue circumstance. Those that initiated the Toilet Paper Token only took it as a joke, but here comes an exchange, taking it seriously and extorting people. I still do not know those who are trading on Yobit and are courageous enough to trade their BTC against another shitcoin that has been created by Yobit. We can never see it trade on any other exchange aside where it is created because it is useless.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm concern for this family on this covid-19 pandemic on: April 03, 2020, 08:42:47 PM
I discovered that the interface of the forum looked unclear and I called a friends attention to it, however, before that, I was sensing it was intentional and now everything is clear. Which is to show that April is over. So many people did not talk about it and were going on with their normal activities on the forum, believing it will soon be rectified or over.
We should all be grateful to our maker that we are hail and hearty. This forum has a lot of folks from different parts of the world and it is a clear indication that despite being at home, we still enjoy our time on the forum.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders need to learn on: April 03, 2020, 08:34:25 PM
As a trader or whoever aspires to become a trader, you would need to quickly study the range of fluctuation in the market, because trading is best done in a fluctuating market. Also, you should expect to see win and loss on trading, but while it seems you are losing, particularly when buying low, in the real sense of it, that is not a loss, but that you are accumulating for the future, for s time that the price will rise again. However, when its rising, do not allow greed to set in. Always take your profit when it is available or at your disposal.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are your safe haven now? on: April 03, 2020, 08:28:06 PM
My safe haven is usdt for now, the whole market is being coronated and infected with the virus, so I can't say for others, but as for me, am holding my Fiat and usdt till the market is stable. Except you want to.scalp in trading, then you can check the market for a reasonable coin to trade and get profit, but when it comes to holding in safe haven, then it's usdt.

T think you got my mind there and you read it perfectly well, the only difference is that I still trade. When it comes to safe even, I believe there is no other coin than for you to just hold your stablecoin or fiat on exchange. Although keeping money on the exchange too cannot be totally safe. Meanwhile, you can still keep your stablecoin in your wallet, particularly those that are ERC20 compatible. On the other hand, trading in a fluctuating market can also be a good idea.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The door is never closed to new traders on: April 03, 2020, 08:21:54 PM
The challenge is the sentiment in the market is not attractive. When news gets better and old investors are getting good gain large new investors will flow in. They will start buying in big amount when old investor and traders are selling. We dont have to worry the time will come, its a old space and will understand the space and attractive season. Investors at the bear market are the best positioned.

A lot of people find it difficult to make good resolutions when the market is down. They are always afraid it will plunge more, which is why they usually fall into the net trap of the whales or better still, those who take advantage of the bear. Whoever wants to become a trader must be ready to take the risk. Most of the times, when the market has seriously plummeted, particularly now that most good coins are far behind their ATH, no matter how much the coins fall more, they usually come back to surpass it.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: April 02, 2020, 09:34:08 PM
I still join some bounties but mostly BTC paying bounties. Since I have some spare money from my real-job, I buy small portions of altcoins and filling my bag while the market is down due to the pandemic. I am trying maximize the opportunites to earn specially everyone is struggling due to the economic situation.

Good for you. Thre are those who depend solely on the bounty and some cannot join BTC paid bounties. Most times they have no choice than to just keep sourcing for better and more bounties.
These days, there are lesser good bounties, which makes things harder to them.
In a bid not to be at a fix, thinking of what to do in a time like this, it will be better to look for real jobs, so that bounty will only serve as a side income.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hive: The New Steem Community Hard Fork...Thoughts? on: April 02, 2020, 08:02:51 PM
We are tracking Hive already and its currently trading on Bittrex and Probit.
Binance have honored the forked coins but have not open a market yet

Since Bittrex could start the trade for the hardfork, it shows a green light that other bigger exchanges will soon list it too, Binance inclusive. Coingecko is coming. CZ purchase of CMC will also see the hardfork on CMC too. Ether way, it will be listed.
If TRON's Justin does not dump the Steem he has, I envisage both Steem and Hive will survive in the long run. Hopefully, everything works out well on both sides, Ceteris Paribus.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty alone is not enough on: April 02, 2020, 06:58:10 PM
The fact is that a lot needs to be done, first, on the drawing board of most of these projects. If someone or a team is planning to push out a project, initial or starting fund is very essential.
What actually draws the line between most projects is the fact that some of them have more money to start something meaningful. If you can drive it first with your money, then the community will support. Getting it right at the first stage will minimize the problem that will be encountered in future and that will enable quick solution for such a project.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this still possible today? on: April 02, 2020, 05:07:08 PM
I just find out that some coins might start with very low volume and marketcap and end up growing big? true or false? i tracked back some old coins that start with trading volume around 6k and end up in millions, is this still possible today?

This is very much possible. It has happened before now, it is happening and it will continue to happen.
We all know that Tezos today is a wonder. A coin that that almost seen as being dead, suddenly woke up and rose to top 10 on CMC. So, I tried to used Tezos as a case study and I took the data from four different points, so as not to be biased.

1. The first image indicates that, as of July 12, 2018, the Market Cap of Tezos was $1,195,319.762 USD, with a 24h Vol. of $5,643,930USD

2. With progression in time, Feb 26, 2019, to be precise, there was a further increase of Market Cap to $245,949,366 USD, probably was as a result of the increased 24h Vol. to, $4,392,145 USD.

3. On Feb 28, 2020, there was a tremendous increase, in the Market Cap of Tezos to $1,872,295,460 USD and a great increase in 24h Vol. to $204.212.594.460 USD. This was when Tezos moved up in rank.

4. Also, as of March 18, 2020, it was able to keep up with the Market Cap, having $1,176,876,835 USD, while the 24h Vol. went higher, having $438,667,008 USD.

This is a clear indication that, first, what happened in the past as regards the possibility of coins increasing in Market Cap and Volume, can still happen till date and beyond. I believe there are some other coins that still behave this way. I do not easily give up o some altcoins, particularly when I see the potential in them.
