Liftoff in T: - 48 hours? That's what I'm counting on, anyways. I'm going to sleep. And when I wake up, the price better have stayed at about $240!
143  Economy / Digital goods / Re: i need full member account on: October 01, 2015, 02:32:16 AM
I have a member account with potential for Full Member. It has 60+ posts and activity, potential to have about 180 total activity. I could sell it to you for BTC0.04

Hey, anything interesting happening or coming up? Man, I'm starting to get real frustrated t the fact we're remaining mostly between $224-$231. Where is the bitcoin we all know and love to hate to love!?
145  Economy / Economics / Re: A good day to buy hard? on: September 19, 2015, 07:29:52 PM
A great great day to buy hard indeed. I am seriously considering buying with all my available money right now. We're flat, I dont think the price is dipping below $200 again, ever. We may be leaving behind $300 and maybe $400 forever within the next 8 months. I am very optimistic of the route we're taking in the not-so-distant future.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 14, 2015, 02:51:37 AM
Economists have know for 500 years that a currency must have some inflation, otherwise people will hoard it and it will not be available for use as a currency.

During the past 500 years, there were long periods of effectively zero inflation where economies boomed. In the industrial revolution in Britain, for example.

Also, I don't think there was such a thing as an economist 500 years ago.

As much as I hate to agree with the professor... but Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_economic_thought) says that the history of economic sciences stretches back to 500 BC. So at least there were at least proto-economists as far back as before the time of Jebus.

I recommend "A Transaction Fee Market Exists without a Block Size Limit" by Peter R in Montreal!

Hey, do you know where these are going to be uploaded later on? I'd like to see all of it later, maybe share it with my friends.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 07, 2015, 09:49:28 PM
So, how long do you guys think we'll last below $250? Do you think we can hold on to somewhere between $240 and $260 until sometime October? This range does definitely seem great for buying and HOLDING purposes.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 02, 2015, 10:29:39 PM

If there is no utility, then the investments are ponzi schemes. What gives Bitcoins their utility value is the ability to record titles and do timestamps of data on the blockchain.  With a transaction limit, that utility value is capped at the network transaction capacity.  A bitcoin that doesn't scale is like owning land where you are not allowed to develop it or use it for anything other than selling to some other sucker. Some people buy raw land like that in the hopes of use restrictions being relaxed in the future, but it is a huge gamble. That is the State of Bitcoin right now. Without a predictable schedule of blocksize increases, it's just a speculative bet, not an investment.

Exactly! Bitcoin was made to overthrow the old systems, where money was arbitrarily printed at the government's discretion! Now we're facing a similar issue with the block size. That is the among what is holding bitcoin behind, no scheduled block size increase. We have the math, we can figure out an automatic block size limit increase! Man, this debate should have been solved long ago.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Percentage of XT nodes... on: September 02, 2015, 04:20:58 PM
so are we going to have to switch or not?

im a bit confused with whats what now lol. although I rather just stick with the normal bitcoin qt client i already am satisfied with..

I dont think you need to switch over from Qt. Nothing will really come of XT (block size or price, it will have no lasting effect), we're just getting the weak hands scared to get these cheap, cheap bitcoin. We'll be laughing about this block drama by May.

For anyone out of the loop: we need bigger blocks, now or very soon. Since there's no automatic block size increase in the bitcoin protocol, there is some drama surrounding the need for blocks. There's several proposals, most of them starting with BIP. One is for 8MB blocks, one for increase dictated by the miners (with a max increase to 32MB) and another is an 8GB limit. It seems like the majority agrees (over 72% of... something. miners? nodes? I'm pretty sure it's miners) that we need bigger block. We're just arguing over how much and by which method.
151  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Purse.io - Bitcoin Amazon Marketplace - Save ~10-25% on Amazon Wishlist on: September 02, 2015, 03:58:10 PM
Guys, quick question, are the limits really enforced? Because I have seen a few new accounts post orders for higher than $50. I already have one transaction done on the site, and (according to the leveling system) my limit is $100. Would an order for $200 be denied, or removed or canceled because it's over my limit?
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price/Market Movement Discussion ONLY on: September 02, 2015, 03:26:23 AM
Looks like we're still sticking with the price downtrend line that comes all the way from the ATH. We broke above it, then below it, now we're resting above it. I think we're close to leaving that line behind. The halving will be starting to effect the price a few months from now, into 2016. I can't wait to see what happens then.

154  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Used 3DS, ocarina of time edition. on: August 31, 2015, 01:40:44 AM
I'm just testing the waters to see if anybody is interested. I have a 3DS that is the Ocarina of Time special edition, quite collectible. But I wont lie, it's a bit beat up. Looking at amazon, I see one being sold at $113 with "plenty of scratches". The other one at that range without stylus or charger. Mine comes with those essentials, and Mario Kart 7. It has Pokem X pre-installed, but the 3DS is linked to my nintendo account in Canada, so I think a system format would have to be in order (erasing the game). I would hope $140 (shipping included?) is a fair price? I'll be sure to upload a few pictures.

I'm willing to pay the escrow fees (have it be deducted from the payment, the payment being in bitcoin), and I'll be sure to have it shipped ASAP, and provide all the info I can. This would be my first time sending something outside the country, so that's cool. Hope to hear from you guys and gals. I'll be updating this post with pictures soon.
155  Other / Meta / Re: Is "account farming" frowned upon. on: August 28, 2015, 06:39:37 PM
If you have to ask, the answer is probably yes, same with most ethical debates.

There was a time when organ transplants were considered unethical. The discussion of whether something is ethical or not is very important thing in society. Ultimately, I think damage is what we should consider. And also the balance of how stuff turns out, though I wouldn't like to think that the ends justify the means.

Anyways, to answer OP, what damage does one do when farming accounts? None, really. So I don't consider the act of account farming alone to be detrimental. Not unless you are spamming, and deteriorating the quality of this forum. It's OK to have fun, make discussion with funny GIF, etc. making sure to keep on topic. Personally, I would prefer to have more substantial things to use as collateral than an account on this forum... but such is life.

159  Economy / Speculation / Re: when the guys who own 10,000 bitcoin see their net worth drop below 1 million on: August 23, 2015, 01:35:17 AM
Huh, what is 10,000 bitcoins ? Just one pizza Smiley

I look forward to the day when everything sold on online places that accept bitcoin will be priced at microbitcoin and nanobitcoin. "I remember people used to buy a pizza for BTC0.2! Man, those were the days. I sure am glad I got in while they were cheap, soon after, at $400!" They'll say. I think we might see some days below $200, some freak occurrences below $140, but never again double digits. The pre-halving bump and the post-halving jump will be in the news soon.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: how much FUD can you handle? on: August 23, 2015, 01:25:54 AM
The FUD only makes me want to buy more bitcoin. Anyone that knows anything about bitcoin should trying to maximize the amount they have at the moment for the pre-halving price bump. And maybe sell then to then accumulate more for when the post-halving price jump comes! Then maybe spend some, buy some, IDK... But anybody selling bitcoin below $280 is misguided, at best.
