141  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Forum Puzzle 18 on: May 23, 2018, 10:49:29 AM
That is a more serious puzzle. Let me try my luck to answer the puzzle, do I just need to send him a pm of the answer? or I will just transfer the bitcoin to my account? (imagining i could decode the puzzle) After seeing the image, reading his objective and process on creating those. It gives me a hit how to decode the puzzle. I think even he said "Hidden in plain sight" it is still not obvious that the amount of separated letter and number will hardly compose of a private key. Thus it need some additional transmutations.

Well, if you could decode it then transfer it to your Bitcoin address obviously.
Good luck it is very time consuming and does not worth the pain only if someone look at it as a challenge.

I'm enjoying common puzzle just like OP was doing but that puzzle is out of this world and will give you a headache.
142  Other / Meta / Re: New Report to moderator stats ;) thank you theymos on: May 21, 2018, 10:29:12 AM
Agreed to some of extent, but how about include them also?
My guess is, more stats will show up when you report enough.

Quote
For example, I want to improve my reporting to have a 100% and my reports are 50% bad. How could I improve it without seeing it?(Just an idea because I would like to report regularly once I bump into one of them)
As the report page says: "Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports."
In other words, it's better to report 10 posts without being 100% sure they're bad, and get 8 of them deleted, than just reporting the one you're absolutely sure about (which means the remaining 7 bad posts aren't deleted).
Meaning, its better to report than never.  Grin
143  Other / Meta / Re: New Report to moderator stats ;) thank you theymos on: May 21, 2018, 04:55:29 AM
Users who didn't made a report in the last 30 days, normally couldn't find anything in their history.
If you mean that you have for example less than 10 reports and you couldn't see how many are good/bad/unhandled then probably you are right about the minimum requirement (even if i don't understand the reason behind it)

Potential reasons could be to prevent users who aren't posting regular enough to complain about their reports not being handled or being marked bad which I expressed my concerns about earlier in the thread. Could also be that users who don't report regular don't need access to the in depth data that the regulars do.

Agreed to some of extent, but how about include them also?
For example, I want to improve my reporting to have a 100% and my reports are 50% bad. How could I improve it without seeing it?(Just an idea because I would like to report regularly once I bump into one of them)
144  Other / New forum software / Re: New feature request: a "Report merit abuse button" on: May 17, 2018, 11:27:51 PM

It does not ease the work.

It transfers the work from a decentralized system (the readers who investigate) to a centralized one.

But, is not centralized yet? I mean: only a few members can ban an account. And, also, this is not centralized, since it works the same way than the "report to moderator" button in a topic. Mods have the last word in this case.

Also, the actual way is to make a big thread (difficult to follow and read) in which the possible merit abuse is shown, that's why I consider it to "ease" the way.
But, again, this is just an idea. I don't need to be right, just to create a debate and to seek the best way of stopping the farmers.

Anyway, the merit starvation maybe will be enough for now.
Lets just wait more time for what we think about abusing merit. Drought of merit and topic selections that can be a great help in the new software. Admin are just gathering ideas specially after the merit system was introduce.
145  Other / Meta / Re: What about redesigning BitcoinTalk ? . on: May 17, 2018, 11:14:36 PM
The tag notification is cool!! I've joined a forum that has that feature and it is really helpful in calling members attention. If I remember it correctly that forum use Xenforo? Plus they also has a qoute/reply notification feature which is also helpful especially when someone bumped a dead thread. You can also post a status on your profile(which not needed here Grin).
Tag will be a great call for it. Nofication to promt your attention will be great addition. But goodluck to the admins if they were tagged most of the time. There should be atleast a restriction before adding this kind of feature
146  Other / Meta / Re: Ban the 3rd world non english speakers on: May 17, 2018, 10:59:12 PM
Ban accounts with IPs from china, russia, venzuela, indonesia, india, etc = home of the scammers.

Hi there, your post is very offensive. Don't make it general for those countries as bad english speakers, I showed your post on my Indonesian workmate and he want to lay a hand on your sweet face if given an opportunity. Please don't say stuff that will insult others just because you're good. Its better to have a nice attitude than a smart mind but without ethics.

There is a reason people block all communication with nigeria, because the majority of scammers.  Sometimes you ban the entire place for the greater good since the majority are scamming cockroaches.
Pinpointing a country is very unethical OP. It is not the countries problem, even in the real world all countries have scammers so dont make a fus making a suggestion of banning a country.
147  Other / Meta / Re: New Report to moderator stats ;) thank you theymos on: May 17, 2018, 10:46:32 PM
Hopefully people don't go on a rant when they see that one of their posts got marked bad though.
It would not be a big deal for the reporter because we are not reporting just for the stat but to make the forum clean from spammers and users that are present in the forum.

Hope we can filter our reports in the future. (Just a suggestion)
148  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: to make a button to filter out messages from users with signatures. on: May 17, 2018, 10:34:02 PM
Make Bitcointalk great again!
A nice message from a newbie, right Smiley ?

What is happening today? Is the newbie's troll day? Maybe we should baptize the May 17th like that.
Look, man, if you don't like people with signatures, just ignore us. So simple!! Do you know how to do this?

Make the forum great again? Have you been here enough time to even know how the forum was? For many of the great users' in here have been wearing a signature for a long while!
Bah, whatever, it seems like the fool Newbie's day.
They are coming. More spammy accounts are going to post this kind of shit in the meta section. They are like pest that will attack when they see foods.

149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Market Manipulation on: May 17, 2018, 04:15:59 PM
if it will be manipulated may require a lot of great people. because to manipulate bitcoin requires funds that are not small in number. here we can play to get a profit whether it is manipulated or not
Group of whales are the most common involve with this kind of manipulations.

This happens not only in Bitcoin but also other altcoins but its pretty obvious specially from alts.

151  Economy / Economics / Re: How to manage the risk in investing cryptocurrency? on: May 17, 2018, 02:42:08 PM
I invest in the cryptocurrency, you want to make money, but no one will give you money, you want to risk and invest in proven cryptocurrencies.
According to my observations, a lot of coins at the ICO stage cost more than when the ICO was completed, that's why it is worth investing on the stock exchange.
All investment have risk. Maximize your knowledge in the crypto. There a lot to learn about it specially the systems incorporated in blockchain technology.

But if your a trader, try to spread you investment not just one coin and also keep updated for each of it.
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC again Fall down at 7k?! on: May 17, 2018, 12:50:38 PM
BTC price is always pumping and dumping although this is the main magic of crypto market I like this fluctuations. But in this current market BTC is starting to dump again. So I have a question Is this time BTC will fall down again 7k?!

Back to your basic reading on how the trading works. you have been around in the forum in a while and still your questioning that "will Bitcoin fall down agian 7k?"

Analysis of the market is the best way to determine on how the market moves. But for 7k, I think it will go for 7.2k because of the support line last November 2017.
153  Other / Meta / Re: 100 Days of Merit on: May 17, 2018, 11:47:59 AM
Another great data presentation.

I would be interested to see more information about those who can’t rank up because of merit. I would be interested to see how long their posts are compared to others (specifically those who are one rank higher), where these accounts tend to post (what sections), if these people are participating in any kind of advertising campaigns, how much trust these people have sent/received.

The above information may give somewhat of an indication of how effective the merit system is working.
This could be a basis where the member are paying more attention for healthy discussion. We can also see the topics that topped at merit for a certain section and also the poster.

Giving and receiving of merits are the most important data so far. I think Senior and Hero members should start working on some merit distribution to add more stats on members that really deserve a merit.
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency resources and tools for newbies on: May 17, 2018, 07:23:57 AM
hitbtc is a very shady exchange and there are a lot of scam accusations:

Hitbtc scammed me +100K and have disable my account!!

I suggest you put a NOTE on the OP for people to take care when dealing with HitBtc, another suggestion is put another NOTE warning people that before making deposits in any exchange first they should read your TOS and then they should verify your account and only after verifying account must make deposits
Hit BTC's trade's are all divisible, small amounts that you have deposits can't be withdraw if your not aware of their Luxurious fee. In the end, you coins will be just a donation on that exchange. Better read all the fee's and minimum trades before entering.
155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of Campaign Managers Latest Post(Sig & Twitter Campaign) for Bounty Hunter on: May 17, 2018, 04:05:17 AM
AFAIK Lauda, deadley, Sylon, Avirunes, irfan_pak10 do signature campaigns too, so I guess you should put them on that side as well, dont know the others since I saw them running bounty campaigns only. And aside from post history you should put their profile link and add their campaign management thread/ANN thread on the OP too. And also try to check Aventhe's profile (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1054592) he's doing some signature and bounty campaigns too.

For the profile link, I think that would be unnecessary because the key in my post was to look in to the latest post of the managers not the page of their management thread. Its not my job to promote their campaign thread.

But in case of viewing their profile, I can just go to one of their post and I can already view the profile of the manager that's why it's not needed at OP.

But still, I appreciate your suggestion.

156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which is the Top potential coin to buy now? on: May 17, 2018, 03:55:30 AM
Bitcoin and Ethereum are two top projects to invest into for now, there are some second tier projects, like Monero, Neo, ICON, Cardano and Wanchain IMO. I think people need to understand that it is possible to have some of these small cap to grow but the risk of investing in them just keep increasing now, because we have the space full of scam projects
I suggest to invest from EOS. This project was being tagged as Blockchain 3.0 and transaction were more faster than both BTC and ETH.  Already $11,728,469,233 from market cap and already at Top 5. It may overtake Ripple at top 3 in the future.
157  Other / Meta / Re: How to remove 90% of scammers from airdrop/blog bounties/signatures on: May 16, 2018, 03:32:49 PM
Well im not 100% sure that i am an excellent member of this forum and worthy enough to not to be in the list, but i think managers must have a standard like SMAS list or DarkList. I do believe if "some" managers put works and times for their job, this forum would be less spammy than right now.
In the end, rules of the managers should still govern in order to remove them. But we still cant stop them specially low rank members to spam an airdrop. Who else don't want a free coin for an exchange?
158  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BOUNTY MANAGERS na may negative trust on: May 16, 2018, 03:15:22 PM
Mukang iisa nalang ang sagot sa mga tanong ni OP. This Topic should be lock kasi most of them already answer the question and give already heir opinions. Stop the spamming please.
159  Other / Meta / Re: Is a campaign manager responsible for preventing low quality posting? on: May 16, 2018, 02:32:57 PM
You would think that people getting paid to post would at least take some time in their replies and make a thoughtful post. But, it's just too easy. The criteria is way too low, and I do understand that the more people, and more posts the better advertising. But, if it were me who brought out something worth advertising I would want to best quality posters rather than hiring a bunch of Jr Members who have only ever posted in off topic and spam megathreads.

Probably I'm just too naive to assume that 10 posts are easy for everyone with limited English and limited understanding about bitcoin. I found that many generic threads, such as: bitcoin price, altcoin price, my portfolio, etc. are the culprits. Maybe campaign managers should look at this issue.

Seeing the stuff that gets advertised here - they probably want the opposite. It's the same reason why Nigerian scam e-mails are written in horribly broken English. Someone dumb enough to fall for such e-mails is a perfect mark. Someone dumb enough to click on some shitcoining ICO ad under an incomprehensible Google-translated word salad is a perfect "investor" for said ICO.

I wouldn't mind if theymos strong-armed the campaign managers into some sort of responsibility. Probably not gonna happen though.

Indeed, campaign managers should be punished for promoting scam ICOs. I still remember Benebit was promoted in this forum. I have this hunch that maybe seniors here already designed new rules, we're just not being informed yet.
Time can tell once new rules are implemented because members here are getting worst day by day specially spammers in the bounty campaigns. Enforcing bigger rules could be a solution but some of the spammers previously ranks up already before the merit system were implemented and I'am sure that many of them will still spam the bounties for the rest of the forum time.
160  Other / Meta / Re: Must Acrivity and Merit fall over time? on: May 15, 2018, 02:53:49 PM
I had an idea how to increase the amount of a common Merit, by reducing inactive accounts.
Perhaps you will not agree with me, but how can you look at accounts that have 1000 merit, but the last time in the network were back in 2016?
How about everything will work:
If you do not log in for 2 months - minus 10 Merits
If you do not write posts, within 2 months - minus 10 Merits
Where will Merit go? It will be distributed among people close to the administration, who will subsequently hand out it for useful topics.
Of course, this issue will need to be finalized, but what do you say about this idea? If you agree, what rules would you add?
You're just imposing more spammer rather than a healthy discussion in the forum. This could only promote more non-sense topics that would not really help in the community. Being away from keyboard is not a basis for deMerit. What if I want a vacation out of the city for two months? That would not be a basis for deMerit be everyone deserves their merits base on quality of the post and not for being idle alone.
