82  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Observation Regarding Threads Here in Our Section on: July 04, 2018, 11:20:04 PM
You have to earn it dahil eto ang mag define ng kakayahan mo bilang member para magtuloy tuloy ang iyong pagiging actibo dito.
83  Other / Meta / Re: Please, mods, stop this on: July 04, 2018, 06:19:33 PM
Reporting them to the moderator is still the best solution if you really want to clean up this section. Just take note that our mods don't work 24/7 just to handle all the reports. Its still better to report it than never.

Is there any monitoring if a couple of members already reported the same topics? I think with this solution, we could already see the topic in which need an action. Just an opinion
85  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a new feature of the forum? on: July 04, 2018, 05:07:35 PM
Its more convenient in editing a post. I didn't notice this one. Can all of our replies will be in this format? IMO, it will be more faster if you want to quote a reply which at the top of the page.

Edit:
Is it just my page or something? Do I really need to scroll down before I can save my edit. It is not like what OP' screen shot.

Edit:
Upon editing again my reply, my page are already the same with OP. I think its a little bug.

Your really great as usual. Since the merit system was introduce, why not change it to a fix 1000 merit? It would be a great reward who ever make it by then in which are very few of them.

Chill lang kayo darating din ang time na yan na maraming pagpipilian sa cx exchange, as of now considerable pa na kunti lang alts pwedi natin ma trade kasi bago pa yung ibang exchange site na bago tagal nga din makapagdagdag ng news coins for trading.
Well, okay na yan kasi medyo maraming coins na for trading at I'm sure maraming Filipino ang magkahilig sa trading.
Sa stocks palang ay marami ng sumusubok which is i think more safer for a newbie trader. Kahit ako, kapag alam kong bago plang ang exchange ay pagaaralan ko muna yung mga reviews before entering it.
88  Other / Meta / Re: Will the merit system be removed by BTT in future? on: July 04, 2018, 11:46:51 AM
IMO, its better for the forum to continue the merit system. More members are not just targeting the post count, interaction to members in the community is more important.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain technology curb corruption in our financial institutions? on: July 03, 2018, 05:48:48 PM
I don't think blockchain will significantly alleviate corruption. Transparent transaction don't remove the human factor and most likely people with authority would still find a way around. It's more likely bitcoin will show how inefficient fiat money and taxation systems are and people start realizing that a lot of governmental branches are inefficient, useless and sometimes harmful.
Government officials that only want money. Corruption will still be inevitable because people are using the system to a form of transaction, paying bill, loads and other money involving fiat. I think it will be still the same in terms of transferring from person to person.
90  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Other sections for this forum? on: July 03, 2018, 05:19:43 PM
@Dabs @rickbig41 I still think the Marketplace for us here for Filipinos would really be beneficial because of the circulation of BTC here in the Philippines.

    Reasons for Marketplace
    • Mainly exchange with Cryptocurrencies (Medium of Exchange)
    • Cryptocurrencies to be widely accepted
    • Opportunities for Entrepreneurs to market their product
    • Local economies to survive (Production of products locally)

    Feel free to add more.
I think generally, we dont need a market place. Why? Maraming mga scammers din dito sa forum. Para maiwasan din yung mga complains about scam specially for new members. Better to trust members that are trading here for a long time with trust ratings from DT members. [/list]
91  Other / Meta / Re: How long I can have sMerits? on: July 03, 2018, 01:41:17 PM
Kindly lock this post. This was already answered and merited by Ognasty. If members really want to contribute in the forum, better start reading every possible answers in this topic. Not just adding more post to this topic..
92  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PNB looks into use of bitcoin! on: July 03, 2018, 12:59:16 PM

93  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Price Drop and Hacks: This Week in Crypto. 25 June 2018 on: July 02, 2018, 10:25:58 AM
    94  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: July 02, 2018, 07:50:12 AM

    95  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: July 02, 2018, 05:17:38 AM

96  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Spoonfeeding, filipinos must read on: July 01, 2018, 04:00:10 PM

There is nothing much we can do here. We cannot force them to give their sMerits for the sake of low ranked members. There are only few ways to get things done and resolve these merit issues.
    1. Assign merit sources to our local/ for those established members in our local forun apply as a merit source.

Kapag hindi nagamit / inactive there is penalty.
Actually I’m planning to apply and I’m preparing different posts that deserves real merit. Some of the posters are replying here. Basta helpful and informative is okay, not the redundant part. I didn’t understand merits nung una, pero ngayon it’s something that would benefit those that are quality posters and not just bounty seeking users.

97  Other / Meta / Re: Merit System - Looking for Goals on: June 29, 2018, 07:16:21 AM
It's not an incentive system. There are four ways to change behavior. Positive Reinforcement and Negative Reinforcement [these both encourage the behavior], Positive Punishment and Negative Punishment [these both discourage the behavior].

The merit system falls under negative punishment. The result of negative reinforcement is the decreasing of some behavior. Negative punishment is when you take away something good that the person wants in order to stop the behavior you don't want. But it really doesn't matter what you intend, if you take away something good people will stop doing what they think led to the loss of what they liked.

Walk up to your child and tell the child 'no more TV for a week' and the child will ask why, complain, and try to figure out what the child did to deserve this and what the child can do next time to maintain access to the TV.

That's called negative punishment. It's been a documented concept since Pavlov/Skinner and is sometimes called Classical Conditioning.

You are calling it an incentive system because you think 'we give merit for good behavior' but the big picture is, BitcoinTalk took away ranking based on activity alone and has now made it harder to rank up with ambiguous rules and a liquidity problem and really really high merit requirements for ranking up. That's almost the same as freezing ranking up. It's not exactly freezing, but it close.

The merit system will be seen as punishment for anyone who wants to rank up and has been involved in this community for over 10 months. I don't know their reasons for wanting it, but anyone who wants to rank up, and has been around for a few month prior to this change, after this merit system came out has been punished. Again, using the formal term of punishment in the sense of behavioral conditioning. I know how people on here like to debate about the meaning of words https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punishment_(psychology)#Negative
Good at comparing it to psychological behavior. I think your a master of degree on it.

Merit system is a punishment for those members that don't want to interact in the forum and only want is to profit by signature campaigns and bounties. The goal you are looking for are still on the run because admins already have stats, its for them to take actions without missing the intent of the forum.
Limiting newbie participation is very harmful for a community. Newbie jail will never return: I consider the newbie-jail period to have been extremely damaging to the forum. When barriers to participation are too high, then the best people often just won't go to the trouble of joining, and the people who are willing to jump through the hoops are often people who aren't good for the community: people with nothing better to do, scammers, get-rick-quickers, etc. Having a permanent newbie jail policy would improve things a lot in the short-term, but would end up being a fatal poison to the community.

Different goals to different situation are needed on the later part because of new cases of spamming are popping out.
98  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [Filipino Guide] Ang Bitcointalk Merit System on: June 29, 2018, 06:13:36 AM
Well, sa kasong 'to, wala talagang pake yung mga ibang members satin.

Hays hahah.
Wala tayong magagawa jan. Freedom nila yan.
    99  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: June 27, 2018, 04:25:32 PM
Limited palang ata yan.

Wala talaga papi. Bka parang etherium siguro to.
100  Other / Meta / Re: Fighting spam and spammers on: June 27, 2018, 12:54:47 PM
Hmm... I was expecting more interest on this topic. Seems like I'm the only one bothered by spam or want to find solutions for it.

Could it be that the spammers are still generating traffic though and that means more advertising $$ for this forum?  Undecided

I know there were multiple threads on this spam issue but no solutions were implemented to stop the root cause, just the effect.
Check also your post. You have already spammed your previous 8 post less that 5 mins each. I think you have known on why theymos makes the forum free

The things on the forum which encourage spam are allowed mainly because it's part of the forum's mission to be as free as possible. Eg. banning bounties would undoubtedly reduce spam, but that'd be destroying an entire economy/population/culture which has been able to develop due to the forum's freedom. I am willing to take this sort of action, but only as an absolute last resort. It's always preferable to handle these problems by reshaping the environment to make them non-problems, rather than removing some freedom.

You can also add the definition of spam with the time of posting.
We can even define what it means to be a spammer, to me it's:
    • making 1 line generic posts
    • replying with the same thing not bringing something new to the thread
    • posting in useless, trivial mega-threads after page 5
