141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you been profiting from memecoins? on: May 25, 2024, 02:28:03 PM
Unfortunately, I failed to profit from these meme coins I was targeting new meme coins in the market so I could profit when they started to pump into the market but it's hard to get the right meme coins to invest in because there are so many new meme coins coming up and you need a big investment.

These old meme coins that are already in the market are also good but compared to a new meme coin they hardly get pumped, I have 5 or 6 meme coins in my wallet and these meme coins failed to get in the market and the developers did an early rug pull, so many meme coins are like this, because scammers and hackers are meme coins creators too.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 25, 2024, 01:30:36 PM
It's a stack up cards so there's a lot of us boxing fans to look at not just this fight. Obviously the main even is Dmitri Bivol vs Malik Zinad. Although what we wanted is him against Beterbiev. But we will have to wait, Bivol just need to win this and then him and Beterbiev be rescheduled for this year hopefully.

It is a stack-up card and look it's only a week before the big fight could have been a lot more interesting if Beterbiev did not suffered an injury still a blockbuster event with the presence of Dubois and Hrgovic there's still no final announcement if these two are fighting for the IBF title as there will be announcement in the coming days

The main event alone is a do or die Wilder hints on a retirement but could change his mind if he can knock out Zhang not an easy task but if he can connect those rights he had a chance.

143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 25, 2024, 12:01:08 PM
Here in our country, if you hit the jackpot, you are given one year to claim your rewards. There is also a security feature on the back of the lotto ticket where you can write your name and sign it, so you are the only person who can claim the jackpot prize, and you have a year to claim it.
This is very bad, which country is that again? In my country, if you win your Lotto ticket today, you have the right to collect your money on that very day if time has not been far spent, or the very next day. At least, this is my experience with offline lottos, although they now have their presence online, but I do not think anything would change, and possibly, the online presence will make the whole process faster.

All they need to do is credit your bank account and you are good to go. Lotto is not what they are still verifying like that, once the combination is correct, you are good to go, so why the delay? A year? That's bad.

Its good that I caught your post my post is properly configured and all the members understand it, what I mean is you are given one year to claim your ticket,  your ticket is valid for one year you and can claim your ticket the next day the reason why I create this discussion is I wonder why the winners takes a week or months to claim their winnings when they can do that the next day or a week

I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the limits and common sense of bet? on: May 24, 2024, 03:54:21 PM

If the bettor has bet something... be it money or some personal item, is the bettor obliged to pay? What does your jurisdiction say about this?

Of course if a bet is between two persons both should honor their bets it will lead to quarell or even a fight if one party will not or cannot honor his bet, when you bet you should show that you can pay the bettor

Quote
Have you ever made a bet that led to an embarrassing situation or do you know someone who has?
Yes like betting on a cock fight but I really don't have enough money I just received a tip that the other cock is weak and it's going to lose, I ended up making a promissory note its a very embarrassing situation and I never did it again

Quote
What are the limits of a bet, can a bettor bet something that he is unable to pay? i.g: betting your own life or 10 years' salary? And also without gaining anything in return, since he only bet against and didn't bet anything if that bettor won...

Or as long as everything was done in a contract that such unusual types of bets would be worth?

No you should not bet in an unusual kind of bet, bets should be realistic and both parties should know what the bets are all about and they can honor their bets, betting is never a joke if you're going to bet take it seriously it  is different when you do it with friends and you all understand that its a friendly bet.

Wow just watched the weigh-in live stream Caterrall was getting cheered while Taylor was booed by the audience

Here is the result of the weigh in 139.8 for Caterrall and 139.6 for Taylor so we have a match this Sunday, on the face off Josh looks aggressive but there is minimal talk between the two they said the same thing all talks are over and they will go to work come fight night.

I have a hard time figuring it out but even though Taylor's performance last two fights was not that good I'll still go for Josh I still believe that Taylor can resurrect his career, but I have no problem with Catterall winning I just want to see a good fight, which I'm sure both fighters will give for their fans.

I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

What if you keep it and will surprise your family after a month, but you have an accident and you get into a coma?

Or you let it know to your family, but you decide that you will claim it after a month but some members of the family spread the news will this put your family and yourself in jeopardy

Do you think it's a good idea to claim your winnings a day after hitting the jackpot or wait a few weeks?

How about you? When do you think is the right time to claim your winnings?

Its a crazy scenario about the coma but literally could happen to anyone and you have to prepare for everything these days! You can never be sure of anything or any outcome and literally anything can happen, so failing to plan would be planning to fail! If it is me I am calling into the lotto to tell them I plan to take the next flight into town and submit my ticket in person. I would hope that would help speed the payout process, but I guess i'll have to find out when I win the lotto of a future scratch off ticket i'll buy at a gas station or supermarket  Grin

Life is full of uncertainty, we never know what's going to happen the next day, I watched a documentary movie where the father saves money but keeps it secret from his family, and when he dies no one in the family knows about his savings but the widowed wife eventually found out the location because the late husband told the wife on her dreams.

So it's better when you hit a jackpot you have to claim and stop dilly-dallying because the money you claimed is not yet yours better to have the money in your hands and just plan anything you want to do because when you have the money all your plan will materialize.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 11:41:13 AM

So what I'm trying to conclude is that gambling isn't something you should take as a hobby or as a means of earning just to make a living. So what are your thoughts?
I don't agree that you should not take it as a hobby but I agree that you don't take gambling as a means to make a living, it's a big illusion if you think that you can make money from gambling because the uncertainty is very high but you will not encounter any issues like you've mentioned in your post if you take it as a hobby and as a hobby you allocate money for you gambling activity,

The gambling platforms have done and keep doing their share of promoting their platform as a platform of entertainment, so it's up to the gambler how they discipline and how they set their mindset when playing in casinos.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 24, 2024, 10:50:11 AM
Yes match-fixing and fixing and not only in Football and these happen in big matches in boxing, basketball and almost every game, and even in horse racing, it happens because of connivance between each team and officials, because there is huge money to be made in game fixing.

Game fixing cannot happen if one team or officials will not cooperate because it will make it so obvious and evident that one team or officials will not cooperate, usually, it favors the weak team or player to make him the winner because of the odds of winnings, many bettors lose their bets and those who win are part of the syndicate.

The organizations usually have a monitoring team to monitor if any of the teams or officials engage in game and match-fixing still the attraction of the money is a big temptation to these perpetrators.

@everyone

I did not post this article right away when I created this discussion and waited for members' opinions some opinions are somewhat similar to what this guy did back in 2010 It is understandable because the jackpot is very huge but will you go to the extent of doing a stake out in the lottery office and wait for three months to get the price, have you not think of the risks.

Based on the article two winners did a stakeout already.

150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 23, 2024, 02:56:53 PM

It's obvious that the boxers are not going to admit for such defeat, even Fury in his last fight against Usyk thinks he still won. But it's very different when the fans see that Taylor really lost the first fight and that's why they should have a immediate rematch that didn't happen until Taylor has no belt and it looks like he is way past his prime. I rewatch his fight against Pedraza when he captures the last belt for his unification and his first fight against Catterall and it's totally different version of Josh Taylor. And then after that he losses to Teo Lopez. So let's see if he can turn back the clock and dominate Jack here or Catterall shows us that he should be the winner of the first fight if he beat Taylor this time in a clear fashion.

This is what makes this fight interesting one former champion who will try to prove that he still has it and one guy who many think was robbed of becoming a champion.

It's just unfortunate for Caterrall that in their rematch Taylor is not the champion anymore, but if he can beat Taylor then he could become an immediate challenger for Teofimo Lopez.

Both fighters are desperate for a win and I don't think they will want to leave in the scorecard but if ever it goes the distance the judges better make the right decision, they cannot afford another controversial decision between these two fighters.

On their press conference Jack is standing on his prediction that he will knock out Taylor in round 7 this is big words indeed so let's see.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has big wins and jackpot stories affected your gambling habit? on: May 23, 2024, 01:11:04 PM

I just want to know, How have jackpot stories affected your gambling routine?

Have you ever increased the amount you normally used in betting just because someone you know won big by betting with a greater amount?

I used to do it until I realized it's like you are chasing losses, it's envy, and greed that made you do this, the same thing that you feel when you are chasing losses.

Gambling is a game of luck, luck comes unexpectedly so one's luck could be your luck the next day and you don't have to change the way you bet because a guy you know hit a jackpot.

It's like a guy you read in news media who won the lotto, it's no use doubling or tripling your bet will increase your chance just because the guy who won the lotto had a lot of tickets, even a guy who bought one ticket had a chance to win.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Foolhardy bets. on: May 23, 2024, 10:53:22 AM
Internet is full of reassuring stories on big gambling wins like ten/hundred -thousand-dollar, or even more, while in most cases the gamblers are losing because they are either not the experts in on gambling they try or have not relevant skills and make foolhardy bets.

I'm sure everyone here involved into gambling has made such reckless bet  at least once in life.
Not only once but many times because of loss of control, reckless bet is something that will always come out because of too many temptations some of which are the odds and the rewards.

Quote
Did such bet/s change  your gambling styles?
Yes I have to change my style or I will continue to lose a lot of money, you have to always be on your limit if you don't want to depress yourself

Quote
Have you become to be more eager in gambling or , on the contrary it has put a chill on you?
It's going to pull a chill in you if you happen to lose money that is meant for paying bills or losing your savings that you saved for years only to lose for an hour of playing.
Gambling is a big trap for those who cannot control their bankroll and their time, allocation is the key, allocate time and money that you can afford to lose.

154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 22, 2024, 03:26:26 PM

Zhang is also good for a couple of rounds just like in his fight against Joseph Parker. The latter was able to survived early and then outboxed a obvious tired and exhausted Zhang till 12 rounds. So there is the blue print how to beat Zhang. It's just a matter on how Wilder will have to execute in this fight. He will rely on is power, but he needs to be able to withstood the early barrage from Zhang and he will be good.

Wilder's big concern is Zhang jabs, it's very punishing this is what Joyce suffered in their two fights I believe Zhang can deliver these jabs, Wilder's defense is not that good but he is a one-shot fighter he can take anyone if he connects, so it's going to be Zhang jabs and Wilder's right hand.

I agree that Zhang had issues with stamina if Wilder can bring the fight to the championship rounds he can deliver that powershot.

Zhang's strategy to win is to do a Parker-like performance swarm him and pour a lot of punches  because Wilder has a very weak defense, as we've all seen in his match against Parker.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 22, 2024, 02:07:00 PM

That's right, I also slightly favoring Catterall now, it looks like Josh Taylor is really on the verge of retirement and maybe after this fight and losing he might be thinking of hanging up his gloves for good.

He has been damage already in the first fight and we all know how he lost his last belt to Teo Lopez and now he had injuries that this fight is postpone again. But fortunately, it was move and rescheduled and this is fight week already. So let's see how Taylor will look like in this fight. If Catterall really prepared in this fight, he could be looking for a knockout win here.

For the record Taylor only has one loss and its against Teofimo Lopez but Caterall is not Teofimo so I don't rule out Taylor yet, when you're a boxer and you are fighting a fighter you once beaten the psychological advantage is on your side, although the fight is too close both fighters will make a good adjustment, since they have learned a lot from their last fight.

Taylor needs to win this fight to get into contention for another title shot and Caterall will try to prove that he is the winner of the first fight by trying to dominate Taylor.

Usually when there is a rematch the fight will take off where they left with some adjustment to favor them so its will another an all out of winner take all fight between the two.

Meanwhile this is the open work out live stream of their fight
JOSH TAYLOR VS. JACK CATTERALL 2 OPEN WORKOUTS LIVESTREAM

But you did know that the fight is controversial, Catterall even knock down Taylor in round 8 if I'm not mistaken and Jack lost a very close score in the judges scorecard and there are fans who says that Catterall was robbed in that first fight. And there is a rematch, which was postponed time and time again until Josh Taylor decided not to fight and go to Teo which is a bad decision. And again, Taylor suffered a injury and they rescheduled it. So with that, I will agree that maybe Taylor is not mentally prepared against Catterall here and that's why he become the underdog. And lucky for those who might bet on Catterall early when he was still a underdog.

It is a controversial fight, and the reaction of the fans and Caterrall is just obvious, but if we watched Taylor's interview, he believed 100% that he won the match when asked about his rhythm, he told the interviewer that he might be off, but he did good and deserved the win, the  confidence is on Taylor, but the motivation is on Caterrall so on the night of the fight it will be settled.

All the judges in the coming fight are fully aware of what happened, so they will decide rightly on this one. However, for both fighters, it's better for them to go all out and go for a knockout and not put it in the judges' hands.
We fans don't like to see results that are different from what we witnessed.

156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Teofimo Lopez vs Steve Claggett WBO Super Lightweight Title - June 29 on: May 22, 2024, 01:07:21 PM
I agree that Clagget is a cherry-picked fight and will not offer a resistance against Teofimo, saw the highlight of his fights and I like his being pressured fighter always moving forward, always tried to land his best punches but with Tefimo's caliber and skill in the ring I don't think he can do what he has done to his past opponents.

It will be interesting if he will still become a pressure fighter when they face each other because Teofimo is someone who loves to slug it out, one thing I notice about Clagget his punches are telepathic so Teofimo will not have a hard time doing a counter punch against Clagget.

Teofimo's team  picked the right guy to make him look good, nothing much to expect from a guy who has 7 losses.

158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lunatic gamblers who says Airdrop rewards are free funds. on: May 22, 2024, 11:06:47 AM
What you're friend means is airdrops come from new coins after doing tasks like promoting the project or connecting their wallet and doing some testing; they will only become free money if the project gets into the market. Unless that happens, these are shit coins in your wallet.
Only newbies participate in these airdrops because they are blinded by false promises.

And if the coins we get from airdrops become real money or become tradeable, we should think of saving it as not all the effort we make on claiming airdrops will be rewarded. Still, some people risk it in the hope of doubling it in gambling because they have it in their minds that they did not spend real money to get these coins so why not take a risk on gambling.

Remember, Bankroll Management is essential for responsible and successful gambling. It helps you stay in control, make informed decisions, and maintain a healthy relationship with gambling.

Yes, it is, but it is easier said than done. We all know that bankroll management is very important, but we tend to forget that as we go along. I have had a lot of problems managing my bankroll in the past because we tend to become too excited and put an excess bet on what we should allocate. This usually happens when we lose and want to chase our losses when we forget the allocation and go ahead and exceed our bets.

Some games where I tend to lose control of my bankroll are Crash, Dice Game, and Coinflip. Right now, I'm ok with my bankroll, but there's still time that I do away with bankroll management and just go with the flow.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Religion. Beliefs or Choices? on: May 21, 2024, 01:00:15 PM
There are some religions that have strict views on gambling, some considering it morally wrong. However, people still gamble for various reasons.

Have you ever faced any conflicts between your religious beliefs versus gambling? How it happen and how did you handle it?
How do different religions view gambling? What could be the reasons behind it?

Our country is a Christian country, but gambling is legal, and the government supports and manages the casino industry and the lottery platforms; it's on the individual how he processes gambling in his life; there is a saying in the bible that you cannot serve two masters at the same, you will love the other and hate the others.

If you value your religion, you will not treat it as important as your religion you will treat it as a form of entertainment and only allocate money that is less than what you are contributing to your church.

We must always choose our religion more than anything else because it governs us in our lives, keeping us from going astray and giving us hope in the afterlife.
