141  Other / Off-topic / Re: Risk or regret? (2) on: August 09, 2024, 11:22:35 AM
Considering risk and regret, which do you think will be the most painful for a gambler?

- the pain from taking a risk that they take on a bet and they lose, or the pain from regret of not taking a bet that ends up as the winning option, a life-changing amount?

I have gone through both, and the experience is painful on both, but the latter is the one that seriously hurts. I experience sleepiness and sorrow. It was a lotto bet I just missed by a few minutes betting those lucky numbers that turned the jackpot and that could have changed my life.

I tried to avoid that kind of scenario, so I always bet early. When I come up with numbers, I make it a point to bet them so there's no regret, whatever happens. I could let it pass if it's a small win, but if it's a life-changing amount, you will blame yourself for a long period of time, which will cause depression.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Media and Gambling, How does it work? on: August 08, 2024, 03:55:14 PM
How often do public perceptions and media narratives influence betting odds in ongoing leagues, and how can bettors exploit these discrepancies to find value bets?

You can check it and compare what you have, but the final decision should be based on your analysis if they are compatible with your analysis, then you have verified that your analysis is good, but if it contradicts what you have, then you have to go back and double-check and see where your error.

Public perceptions and media narratives have reasons for generating those results, and you can use that to your advantage. You should take it positively and use it to your advantage to get the best results on your bets.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 40% of coins have no broad usage? on: August 08, 2024, 02:50:31 PM
BNB, XRP, Solana, and Toncoin are in the top 10 based on market cap. However, it seems that tiny numbers actually accept or spend these coins, such as posting them in their donation links if they are a content creator. It seems like these coins represent a large fraction of the market but don't have even a fraction of their purported value of extremely small use cases. Is the value of these niche coins speculative or is it just market-propping?

You are not looking further; you have just based it on your limited perception and observation. These coins have their usage, not just for donations. They have their own community, and their users are using them for transactions for many purposes. Just last week, I paid for my internet connection using BNB.

These coins/tokens can be used for many things, not just for donations and speculation. In fact, there are stores online and offline that are using these coins to pay for their services and products; you have to do your research.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Crypto Trading is Gambling? on: August 08, 2024, 01:24:23 PM
So, I personally think that this volatility makes crypto trading more like gambling where luck plays a key role, right? Huh

I'm not a full-time trader, but I have many friends who are, and they told me that even if you do your analysis, it's not yet a guarantee that you can make a profit. What makes gambling and trading very similar is the advice that you should not use money that you cannot afford to lose.

The cryptocurrency market is very volatile. Just when you expect to make a profit, the unexpected happens. Your losses are greater in gambling than in trading. In trading, you can always cut your losses, something you cannot always do in gambling.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck or Experience on: August 07, 2024, 04:38:17 PM
Day before yesterday,I met my gambling friend who was in gambling over 7 years of time,he said me the game after the experience was based on the tactics and strategy based on the experience.

It really depends on the kind of gambling your friend is doing. If it's sports betting, then there are tactics, strategies, and experiences that can come into play to achieve the goal of winning.

But if it is a luck-based game, even if your friend has been playing for many years, he cannot guarantee his winning, so on sports betting, you can invest your knowledge, and if it is a luck-based game, then you have to control your betting and enjoy the games as there is no assurance of winning.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with a winning amount in mind on: August 07, 2024, 10:58:22 AM
In essence the thought process a gambler focuses on during any gambling activities will determine if such a gambler would gamble much more or lesser than normal and also, if such a gambler would become successful at their gambling endeavors.

I agree motivation is a huge factor in how you behave as a gambler if your goal is to gain or recover your losses, chances are you are not going to spend more than what you can afford to lose.

The right motivation should be to accept whatever the outcome of the game is and not force yourself to achieve what you want. If you're lucky, you will eventually hit your goal.

In gambling, you may not get what you want, but you may have a chance to do that when an opportunity opens up.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indonesia gov blocked poular search engine over gambling results. on: August 06, 2024, 02:43:29 PM
Just encountered this news - "DuckDuckGo blocked in Indonesia over ..., gambling search results." which has dropped a bomb on me. I have never been in this country and always thought it is loyal to gambling. But it seems to be not. How does the matter lie at present? I wonder this because of my plans to visit Indonesia for a couple of weeks and when visiting countries for the first time  I commonly show myself  round the local casinos.

All the answers are already in the article: gambling is illegal in Indonesia. It is a Muslim country, so the government will monitor anything and everything that is Haram and it's not the only Muslim that does that, so the action is pretty obvious on their part.

According to the article, Google's search engine is still working, maybe because they already censored it for Indonesians so they could retain their presence.

I think Duck Duck should follow Google's lead to enter Indonesia, which is to restrict or censor their search engine.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I Take This Telegram Airdrop Bot Seriously? on: August 05, 2024, 04:51:19 PM
Here:

The answer is simple: you need common sense. We can conclude it is a scam; there's no airdrop offering thousands of dollars. Imagine if they have 1,000 members—just do the math. This is worse than a HYIP or a Ponzi scheme. They entice you to connect your wallet for a possible hack.
When a project offers something that is too good to be true, they have a hidden agenda, so it is better to ignore it.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Btc is for rich solana is for people on: August 05, 2024, 04:23:17 PM
Btc is for rich and solana is for everybody still price low and solana fees are cheap so Even poor people have opportunity to make it.

How did you come out with that belief it's like saying that if you're poor, Bitcoin is not for you, so you should settle for cheap coins like Solana.

Just to enlighten you, you can buy $10 Bitcoin, and you can still make a profit, we have proven Bitcoin profitability for over a decade.

Solana is good, but I don't think it is better than Bitcoin in terms of profitability, market cap, and popularity; Bitcoin is a highly stable investment. You just have to be patient to reap the profit.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Every Gambler Should Be Aware Of This Health Risk on: August 05, 2024, 03:22:51 PM
Why did I create this topic: My nephew noticed that after I come home from work that involves sitting the whole day, I continue to play or gamble for hours, so he gave me a warning that too much sitting will have a bad effect on gambling.

Many gamblers are likely to suffer from mental, emotional, and financial issues, but do you know that there is a health risk that many gamblers who are playing online are not aware of? Sitting for too long; if you are a work-from-home guy or working in the office and you sit the whole time you are at work, and you continue to play online for hours, you can suffer from these health risks.

There are chronic gamblers who are glued in their chair for hours, and they are likely to develop these health risks.
How about you? Are you aware that sitting too long while playing without interruption can be harmful to your health?

151  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Good new! US gagawing reserve assets ang Bitcoin on: August 05, 2024, 01:57:24 PM
Don't set your hopes too high ika nga, masyadong too good to be true eh. Pero if may pure concrete plan sila on how to combat yung mga cons ng making it as a reserve assets which is hindi ko din alam, then why not. But expect na it's more another regulations and centralization din probably, knowing this is US.
Totoo kabayan.

152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Telegram The New Haven for Bounty Hunters? on: August 05, 2024, 01:16:46 PM
From what I've seen so far, Telegram is the future of bounty and token hunting. I'm afraid platforms like Bitcointlk have seen their best days. What do you think?

You're not looking in the right direction, then. Telegram has been part of bounty hunting since its creation, and for a bounty channel to increase its membership, it has to post on platforms like Bitcointalk.

Check the bounty campaigns section, and you will see that bounty hunters of Bitcointalk are obliged to join their Telegram channel. But have you seen a Telegram channel promoting an announcement thread of a project in Bitcointalk?

So, it's the campaign here in Bitcointalk that's pushing the project's memberships on Telegram, not the other way around.

153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: August 05, 2024, 11:43:53 AM
The Philippines just won its second gold in gymnastics courtesy of Carlos Yulo. He did it first in artistic gymnastics and again in the men's vault.
Prior to Hidilyn Diaz winning gold in the 2020 Olympics, we had a 100-year drought. Now, the Philippines has the potential to add more gold as there are still three hopefuls: two in boxing and one in the high jump.
The Philippines is now leading the medal haul in the South East; the Philippines has really come a long way.
Funny how and this has already been joked around for a while now, that the ones our sports committee pay little to no mind about, are the ones that are giving us golds and silvers all around. Basketball on the other hand while being funded and supported like crazy, couldn't even perform against B-list countries who didn't even have that much care nor love about the sport as much as Pinoys do. Goes to show just how stupid people are in this country.

In any case, not posting this to take away at the success of Carlos Yulo and the folks who really gave us a chance to be noticed in the Olympics, and as far as I know they are getting much deserved praise and love from our government recently. So good for them.

I hope the government of the Philippines will realign its budget and focus. We have been focusing on team sports that are laden with foreigners when, in fact, in this 2024 Paris Olympics, the locals are the ones bringing in the gold and the glory.

Gymnastics, weightlifting, and track and field are not very popular in our country because the government sports commission does not seek talent in these sports.

There was a time when athletes in these fields had to look for sponsors to go abroad for training, and they had to shoulder their expenses, I'm sure after Yulo garnered two golds in gymnastics, many youths will be interested in gymnastics.

154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Israil Madrimov vs Terrence Crawford on: August 04, 2024, 05:24:38 PM
Wow, this is unexpected. Rayo Valenzuela just happened to upset Pitbull Cruz by winning the fight via split decision. Rayo fought a very intelligent fight, warding off Pitbull's attacks. He has a good strategy, and he easily won the early rounds. He landed the most punches, although Cruz had the most significant or strong punches of the fight.

This is a major shake-up in the division, as Pitbull is looking forward to fighting Tank Davis after this fight. I think there's going to be a rematch in this fight, as the former champion usually has an option for a rematch in case he loses the fight.

Pitbull Cruz is pretty one dimensional. It was a matter of time until somebody with a defensive style came along and was able to frustrate him. I didn’t expect it to be Valenzuela, who is inexperienced, and isn’t that slick of a fighter. Pitbull is just very limited and only does well against fighters with more offensive styles like Tank and Rolly.

That is why I'm so surprised that it was Valenzuela. Pitbull's weakness is a fighter with good counterpunching, but part of the credit should go to his trainer, Robert Garcia. Garcia has trained many great counterpunchers, so he knows what plan to implement to counter Pitbull's attack.

I'm sure there will be a rematch of this fight if Pitbull wants it, as he is the former champion, but he'll need a lot of work to do as Rayo has his number. Pitbull does not expect Rayo to dance all throughout the fight, and this somewhat frustrates him.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most Important Advise to Enjoy Gambling on: August 04, 2024, 05:00:58 PM
I am going to reiterate the golden rule: 'Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.' Believe me, this simple advice can transform your overall perspective toward gambling, and you will enjoy it much more.
This simple advice needs some training and conditioning. Just use it sincerely in your next couple of gambling sessions, and you will never be the same miserable, guilt-ridden person again.

Yes, it's still and will always be the best advice, but for you to follow it with your heart, you have to go through a lot of trials. I received this advice when I was starting out, but I was so stubborn in believing that I could win the challenge that I lost a lot, and many of those losses were money that I should not have lost.

But control in gambling is best learned through experience; you have to go through tough times to learn the real lesson, and so far, I'm doing good with how I allocate funds for gambling.

157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can save lifes due to the word inflation on: August 04, 2024, 02:15:05 PM

What I want to know is: Did I do a good job by using gambling to save him? Or do I just make him have an interest in gambling as a source of income?

It's good that it has a good ending, but I recommend that you don't do that again. The guy is a construction worker who barely makes enough money for his family's needs. You should discourage him from gambling with the money intended for the family.

If you barely make money for your family, you should prioritize the basic needs of the family and not take chances in gambling. You may have saved the man, but that may have encouraged him to bet and hope that he wins so he can have income. You should educate him that he should gamble with excess money.
158  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Discover Over 4000 Casino Bonuses on BonusHunt.bet on: August 04, 2024, 01:06:29 PM
Every site should have terms or disclaimers, especially for casinos. I've checked your site, and I cannot find any, not even an FAQ.
I have not checked all the casinos because there are too many; I will not recommend the site because there's no information on how you list a casino and how you weed out the casinos to be listed. You have to ensure that you are not promoting scam casinos.
This is more like a cash cow, not something that will help gamblers choose a casino.

160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does User Complaints of a casino in the Reputation board influence you on: August 04, 2024, 03:29:47 AM
On the reputation board of this forum, there are numerous accusations against various casinos. While some casinos have more complaints than others, most of the time, it is the users who are at fault for breaking the casino's rules and regulations. In fewer instances, the casinos may be blame. Do these kinds of complaints influence your decision to play at a casino or not?

I will be aware and follow the development of those accusations but the one thing that will influence my decision is the result of the investigation.

Anyone can open an accusation but it does not mean that the casino is at fault. We have proven time and time again that the users are the ones at fault, or they just want to ruin the casino's reputation to try to get back all that he loses if the complaint is legit and a majority thinks that the casino is at fault then that will be time to take note and ponder if you want to continue playing in that casino.

I believe that casinos should maintain their reputation at all times because the industry is very competitive, and everything about a casino is its reputation in the industry.
