so, no release date, weasel words, big numbers claimed and this, "buy in partnership of $1.5M?" ah yeah, we are all rich and pay for the fabrication...

no information on availability of the chips or the "miner" that’s available "today"..

if you haven't emailed/PM'ed these guys sidehack, care for me to? I will act as my own party though (don't want you to cop shit from me).

and yeah, I realise I'm talking about the A4 not the A3.. if the A3 is even worth it..
142  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 20, 2015, 08:18:59 AM
That they have the Stock Option does not mean that they can vest it.
It doesn't remove the fact that they're trying to pay themselves that much.

I think no one would buy stock's in that big amount with the current Situation.
That huge document was essentially an information leaflet so current shareholders can sell. Lots want out it seems.

if only you could get one of them to throw you a chop of it each month..
but hey, they sold them selves out.

Another I came across: bitcoinmining.me no info on the site, and free 350GH/s that you need to spend real btc to get profits out..
Obviously not a scam!

So 7/7 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. I say 7 for the the free 350GHs
144  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 19, 2015, 05:38:14 AM
i ordered 5 from zoomhash last friday. monday morning they cancelled my order, no reason given.  Talked to bob and he had me reorder mon night. got confirmation and went to bed. I got up tuesday and order #2 was cancelled, blaming credit card acceptance issues on their end They then had me place a 3rd order tuesday afternoon using paypal. Was told they were in stock ready to ship. Got call tue night saying they all sold and were already shipped but I could get some of the 2nd batch coming in later this week shipping out on friday. I tried to get them to use expedited shipping at my expense or allow me to handle shipping (where i get a huge corporate discount), but they apparently dont do/allow that and only use ups ground . thats 6-7 days to get to me via ups standard ground.

sounds like they need some stock management training.. if they cant keep tabs on what they have to what they can sell.. Hell, if i was this "Bob" I'd keep the order in and Honour the deal next time there is stock in, even if the price doubled in the mean time..

But hey, this is zoomhash we are talking about here, at least they are not keeping your money and disappearing.
145  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Has anyone use Kryonaut Thermal Compound on their ASIC's? on: November 19, 2015, 03:56:21 AM
I had the thermal compound dry out on a KNC Jupiter one time, used Arctic Silver II and temps went back down. One interesting thing about some ASICs is that they perform well at particular temperatures, too cold and they don't hash effeciently, too hot and they stop.  There's a Goldilocks zone for the chips...

my U3 that lasts 3 weeks without resetting, doesn't car if its -10 degrees Celsius or over 40, it will still hash at 62GHs.
Although, my avalon3 likes to be at 51C to hash at 320GHs at 400MHz, get it down to 41C it cant push past 270GHs it could be a chip or 2 not talking correctly or the heatsink may be flexing away from some chips and they overheat an shutdown...

But..

I've read some very good reviews on Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal grease.  I have some on order to try on my used Antminer S5 that I recently purchased.  Curious if anyone had used it yet on their gear and what kind of results you saw on temperature?

There is claims out there(http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/362974-thermal-grizzly-kryonaut-the-ultimate-thermal-paste-you-can-actually-buy-it-now-d/) that this stuff could drop a CPU down 6 degrees Celsius.

This stuff claims to have Thermal Transmittance/Conductivity of 12.5 W/m-K, everyones favorite Silicon die killing 24 Carrot Diamond thermal compound does 4.5 W/m-K, Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme does 8.5 W/m-K, Shin-Etsu MicroSI X23-7762 Nano Grease does 4.0 W/m-K, There is "phobya Liquid Metal" that looks to be 2x better then Grizzly, but im still trying to find numbers..

iirc, higher number is better, basically how many watts of heat can be pushed per meter squared per Kelvin (temperature to rise 1 degree), or something like that..
146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: November 19, 2015, 02:47:57 AM
Yes, the A3218 is what the Avalon6 is using. We've known that for about a month. The Avalon6 wiki page was created October 20th. Pictures of its insides and closeups of bare ASICs existed in the wild a couple weeks ago. I and others have made attempts to track down sample chips, both from Canaan-Creative and BlockC, with no luck so far. If you do find a sales link for samples for the A3218, that'll be news worth posting.

not sure what you got from Canaan about getting the A3218s', I got over 4 months out, if they feel like it.
147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 19, 2015, 02:45:30 AM
I would be careful with zoomhash. I purchased 3x Antminer s5 used from them and I had two units DOA and then they sent me two more and one had dead chips. Finally got that one back from them and then it started going so I sold it for cheap. Anyways this took months after my purchase to finally get all my miners online like i wanted. and i had to pay to ship the miners back after they poorly packaged them. It was a nightmare.

you did buy the 2nd hand refurbished 3x S5 pack yes? I would expect that to be the luck of the draw.. yes they can power them up at their workshop, but they may be faulty since they didn't fully test them..

So they canceled my order last night

Refunded my PayPal just an hour ago

PayPal says 3-5biz days for refund to clear back into my account

What a bunch of BS.. Wonder why zoomhash didn't just keep my order, now they want me to place my order again Friday to ship out Friday

Doesn't make any sense

did you contact them to find out why? were they out of stock and didn't update the page? was there a issue with the final checkout?

149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: November 18, 2015, 11:47:10 PM
Just gotta wait for the A3218 to roll out. Looks to be active about 12 of November. There is docs on their site for a AUC2, looks to be nano to run them..
http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/hardware/A3218/
Also looks to be what the Avalon6 is using.
but I'm looking into it a little more..

Quick glance at that page showed me nothing newer than the A3222 which was released 15 months ago.

thought i had another link for the new  A3218 18nm chips now i can't find it, my bad.

cya

be it in my link?

I haven't heard from PlanetCrypto for a while, hasn't been on for almost a month.. last public message was his poem on here..

I wonder if he had any luck with getting his IP for the bitcoin core going..
151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 16, 2015, 12:25:00 AM
Hi everyone
Got my stickminer form bitshopper.de (easy to order from and quick tracked delivery) and have been playing with Multiminer ever since, as I could not get old/GekkoScience cgminer or bfgminer to even find the stickminer.

 ...

But no luck so far in getting over 4GH/s on the Home dashboard or in the API monitor...
Any anybody been able to achieve a better rate (no one so far, looking at previous posts)?
If yes, how?

Have you let it run for more then 5-10 minutes I have notice some sticks can take a little bit of time to climb to the speed.

Also this:
What versions of BFGMiner have you tried standalone? Only 5.3 and newer have proper Compac support.
152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 15, 2015, 09:30:35 PM
When adjusting compac frequency using cgminer, or minera cgminer-gekko, or cgminer-gekko-win32, is there an interval that needs to be
understood when adjusting?   Can I change from 276 to 277? Or is my 276 already being interpreted as 275 and a change to 276 will make no difference ?

tl:dr  do I have to change frequency in intervals of 5 or 10, or can I 'effectively' make a difference playing with one or two Mhz at a time?

there would be little to no notable difference with changing it 1MHz at a time.  changing it 10 at a time till it stops hashing properly or does mostly HW errors, then go back one step and fine tune it via 2-5MHz at a time
153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 13, 2015, 03:56:02 AM
Latest SEC financial filings for BTCS: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1436229/000149315215005382/form10-q.htm

Some interesting points, although these are my interpretations and could be entirely wrong:

1) Now $1.2M in stockholders deficit (Item 1)
2) Mined just $169k in Q3, which is very roughly 1PH
3) At the same time, managed to accrue another $4.1m in "administrative expenses". That's $7.8m in the first 9 months of 2015.
4) And where does most of that go? $6.38m on "Stock based compensation". So at least some of them are doing okay (more in 14)).
5) They held just $61k in digital currencies.
6) Cash flow was -$2.7m, which was cancelled out by "the issuance of Private Placement Units".
7) There was a working capital deficiency of $3.4m
8 ) Seems the Israeli side is also holding things up: "In addition to standard closing conditions, the closing of the Transactions will not occur until the Selling Shareholders receive rulings from the Israeli Tax Authority confirming, among other things, that the Selling Shareholders may defer the payment of applicable Israeli taxes....".

9) They need money:
Quote
Significant uncertainties include, among others, whether the Company will be able to raise the capital it needs to finance its longer term operations and whether such operations, if launched, will enable the Company to sustain operations as a profitable enterprise." ... "The Company will require significant additional capital to sustain its short-term operations and make the investments it needs to execute its longer term business plan. The Company’s existing liquidity is not sufficient to fund its operations and anticipated capital expenditures for the foreseeable future. If the Company attempts to obtain additional debt or equity financing, it cannot provide assurance that such financing will be available to the Company on favorable terms, if at all.

Because of recurring operating losses, net operating cash flow deficits, and an accumulated deficit, there is substantial doubt about the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern. The condensed consolidated financial statements have been prepared assuming the Company will continue as a going concern. The Company has not made adjustments to the accompanying condensed consolidated financial statements to reflect the potential effects on the recoverability and classification of assets or liabilities should the Company be unable to continue as a going concern."

10) We're not making money
Quote
"The Company expects to incur losses into the foreseeable future as it undertakes its efforts to execute its business plans."

11)
Quote
The Company continues to incur ongoing administrative and other expenses, including public company expenses, in excess of corresponding (non-financing related) revenue. While the Company continues to implement its business strategy, it intends to finance its activities through:" ***my cheeky addition**** "not paying its debts

11)
Quote
On January 23, 2015, the Company purchased 100 Spondoolies S35 digital currency mining servers from Spondoolies Tech Ltd. (“Spondoolies”) for $223,500 (the “Purchase Price”) pursuant to a purchase order agreement (the “Purchase Agreement”).

12) Something looks weird with the Coin Outlet transaction (note 8 ). On March 26th 2015 they purchased an additional 2% equity of Coin Outlet Inc. 5 days later, on March 41st 2015 they decided that the investment is not recoverable due to uncertainties in the BTC price. The price (according to coindesk's index actually rose over that period from $245.01 to $246.99. To me, that doesn't make any sense.

13) Spondoolies received $1.5m of cash on May 12th 2015, yet still won't pay.

14) At least we can line our own pockets with $1m+ a month:
Quote
Stock-based compensation expense was $3,629,804 ... for the three months ended September 30, 2015... . Stock-based compensation expense was $6,383,772 ... for the nine months ended September 30... .

15) Yeah, sure you are.
Quote
"We are dependent on our ability to retain short term financing and ultimately to generate sufficient cash flow to meet our obligations on a timely basis in order to attain profitability".

16) A statement showing that my debt is being declared as within the balance sheets:
Quote
We are not a party to any off balance sheet transactions. We have no guarantees or obligations other than those which arise out of normal business operations.

17) Hmm
Quote
ITEM 1 Legal Proceedings
None.

AKA "We are losing money quicker then Hindenburg going down, but we love you doggie.. no bone for you"

155  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 12, 2015, 04:01:10 PM

mine are set to 45% on the modual3, but when it goes zombie or loses connection, the fans kicks into high speed, and its heard at the other end of the house..

if the fans loses the PMW signal, the controller will give it full juice, for safety..

By spec, if the PWM line is not connected the fan goes to 100% - has nothing to do with the controller.

Personally, I don't see the point of running the fans at less than max - keeps the unit cooler for better longevity - but noise isn't an issue for me.

By multiple reports, there ARE PWM fans out there that do NOT follow the spec, be sure to check your fans before you trust them to go 100% with no input to the PWM line.

from multiple cleaning teardowns, the PMW pin has worked itself loose out of one of the plug (retainer clip on the wire broke off), i have to manually push it in after plugging in the fan.

without any commands other then its preset fan speed, it is 100%, once cgminer tells it to go 45%, it then changes. when cgminer cannot talk to the avalon, the avalon goes back to 100% fan speed.

Repeat - SCAM ALERT - There is no such product as an SP40!
Pay extra caution and look our for incorrect URLs

looks like someone is trying to use peoples wants against them, anyone care to report these sites as a frauds? FBI can look into it, if you willing to be open to who you are with them. (this one has rocked my boat more then any other with making a fake news/report site to complement the scam)

Guy/Spondoolies-Tech are you planning to fill this void? people want this type of item, they are hounding you for it, can you not deliver?
now its fine you got yourselves neck deep in the sp50 construction and filling contracts, but is this company willing to look at the people that want to mine at home?

you've probably been asked this many'a'times, and you probably don't care to answer it...

...
...There is nothing like the sound of miners in the morning.
...

nothing like waking up to the fans going into high speed from a failure

can't happen if fans are manual set.

but the fans could be silent and that means trouble.

I never auto set a fan on mining gear that allows for a manual number.
I set the manual number pretty high and if they stop I get nervous.

I'll take my issue with the physical side of the sticks is nothing to worry about..

I can get them to hash away, at 8GHs, after many many HW errors and time for the chip to warm up, and set to the maximum obtainable voltage (810mV)..

Oh well, I'll use them for dummy fittings, when I get my watercooling setup going Wink

sidehack, in these images, are they proper concerns?

the one that just drops the hashing:

img1 bad solder?
Bad soldering on the CP2102

img2 bad solder?
Looks like you had a second suck of the sav on this chip?

as for the one that slows down the hashing:

img3 bad solder?
looks like it may just suck up the solder under it..

also:

spotted that last minute modification you mentioned..
