1402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 22, 2022, 09:12:52 PM
There is a high chance that Shakur will move to 135 pounds after this fight because it might be rumor for now but I guess that is one of their way to inform the public that he is already struggling to shrink his weight inside 130 pounds but I sure do hope that he is not thinking to fight Tank Davis in his debut in that said weight class, he should know what patience is.

Most likely that this will be the scenario if ever Shakur will win against Robson this weekend because there is not much left for him in this division, i mean the money fight is in the higher division. Fighting the likes of Garcia or Davis could be helpful in Shakur's young career because he is known as a defensive fighter who doesn't attract crowds and Bob Arum acknowledges that.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA EuroBasket 2022 on: September 20, 2022, 12:35:13 PM
So I have some time to check all the results of my bets after the Eurobasket and I want to share them with you guys.
It's arranged as:
Game - My bet - End Score - Result
~snip~
14 wins and 15 losses. It's not bad. I didn't even feel a loss in my budget for this league. Actually, there may be little profit because of the high odds given to underdogs.
The experience though will be my background for the next league. I think that was the important part.
It sure was something entertaining and I will be looking forward to seeing more talented players.

Not bad at all, at least you are on the profit side unlike me who never won on my four bets  Embarrassed.

I should have trusted Bo Cruz and the rest of Spain, could have won big as they are the underdog most of the time, especially on the tail end of the league.

Yup, the experience is priceless as you already knew whom to beat next year or the year after but we should also be careful as this might work against us, you know what I meant. Serbia for sure will bounce back as well as Greece and Spain might be eliminated early in the tournament and we are betting heavily on them as that time they will be the favorite most of the time as they are the Euro FIBA '22 champion.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 20, 2022, 12:02:27 PM
We will find out this December, right now, the only available odds are the moneyline odds which is 1.02 for Inoue per my bookie. Maybe bettors will just be predicting which round Inoue will KO Butler as most likely Inoue will again win by KO. I believe he can do it with Butler as he does it with Donaire which is a better fighter than Butler IMO.

Correct. For sure in December, more lines will be opened. Even if it will out now, it's hard to analyze on what round Naoya Inoue will defeat Paul Butler. Even at the first round, Butler might put on sleep knowing how strong Inoue is.

KO at 1st Round - 3rd round I think will be @1.5.

With how spectacular he performed against Donaire, almost all of us are expecting that this fight won't last long and yes, this could end before the bell rings after the third round if Paul Butler commits a mistake just like Donaire.

I think as early as November we can see all the odds/markets for this fight because Inoue has already carved a name in the boxing world, especially in Las Vegas.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 19, 2022, 09:34:11 PM
This is the final result of the poll

Who do you think will prevail in this fight?
Canelo Alvarez   - 14 (31.1%)
GGG   - 30 (66.7%)
Draw   - 1 (2.2%)
Total Voters: 45

66.7% of us did not believe that Canelo can beat GGG this is one of the times that the majority of members of the community failed to accurately predict the winner, and I'm one of those members Cheesy I overlooked the determination of Canelo I rely on their recent performance in which Canelo lose by unanimous decision and GGG won by a knockout.

If we based our speculations on their last performances then I would say that Canelo has the edge. Though he lost to Bivol that was expected because the latter is bigger and faster while Canelo was swimming in unchartered water at that time.

If we review the fight of GGG against Murata, the former struggled in the first half of the fight until he landed those bombs that sent Murata to the ground but I would say that the overall performance of GGG was not impressive at all plus the fact that he is 40 years old, bettors should consider a Canelo win.

Lacking this thread in a few hours and as usual, thank you for your comments on this thread as this gives some ideas to users here who are not so familiar with this sport.

Expect Canelo to fight again in May against Bivol if he wins against Zurdo.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 19, 2022, 11:59:23 AM
Way to go Bitcointalk users. Many of you lost bets from this fight. Let us proceed to the next world title fights and make better analysis so that we can win our bets.

Most of us here love underdogs and with GGG as a very live underdog, it is understandable that many have backed the latter. If only this trilogy was held 6 months after the second fight, GGG might have won and Canelo knows that, that may be the reason why they delayed the trilogy. Though I bet for Canelo, I'm not very impressed with his performance but practically I have to put money on him because Father Time is catching up on him and I always emphasized in my previous post that this sweet science is a young men's sport.

1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 18, 2022, 12:43:52 PM
Congratulations to Canelo and good luck in fighting Bivol soon.
Now, this one is going to be exciting, Canelo already bring his name back as he impressed the fans, this rematch should be interesting.

IMO, Canelo will still be having a hard time defeating Bivol if we based our speculations on his performance today. Though he won against GGG but for me it is not that he has improved, just that GGG was saving his stamina in the later rounds or he will be gassed out early. When he started throwing that jab, Canelo got problems and if Bivol will do the same but on the early rounds then i think the outcome of the rematch would be the same as the first fight.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 18, 2022, 04:43:12 AM
I am watching the fight, as well as following Sporting News and CBS Sports for unofficial scorecards. The score so far is:

CBS Sports: 99-91 Canelo (Canelo won 9 out of 10 rounds)
Sporting News: 96-94 Canelo (Canelo won 6 out of 10 rounds).

https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/canelo-alvarez-vs-gennadiy-golovkin-3-fight-results-live-boxing-updates-scorecard-start-time-undercard/live/
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/boxing/news/canelo-alvarez-vs-gennadiy-golovkin-3-live-fight-updates-results-highlights/sdec6pobpwornrm7mxahujsl

Golovkin making strong comeback from rounds 6-7, but it looks as if that is not enough. Canelo is the clear winner of this fight, by a good distance.

Canelo won but not with a good distance as two judges scored it 115-113 so there could be a draw if GGG won one more round which could spark controversy again. I've watched the fight and I think GGG has lost 9 rounds. If only he fought his fight in the early rounds the outcome could have been different but as they said, he was fighting as an old man, he may be gassed out if threw punches early and got knockout on the championship rounds.

So for me, this is the end of this match as clearly GGG is aging and depriving the fans of his true fighting style.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 18, 2022, 03:58:19 AM

Unofficial scorecards from CBS Sports and Sporting News show Alvarez winning first two rounds (Canelo 20-18).

GGG clearly slowing down here...

Power punches of Canelo are slowly but surely showing up here, don't know if GGG can survive in the championship rounds.

edit:

It's just weird that Canelo is not going to the body which he was known for instead he is head hunting, looks like he wants to end GGG's career in a brutal passion.

edit:

GGG comeback but i'm afraid it's too late for him as Canelo has been filing points in the early rounds.

Can you the main card even if you are not subscribed to the PPV? I have read that the PPV was USD80+, so if subscribe to DAZN to less than a dollar and you can watch all the fight then it would be good if we subscribe to this one.

$84.98 is for the new subscribers within the United States. For other countries, it is lower. Yes. You can watch the main card with this ₹69 subscription. For Western countries, they need to add the fight to their subscription at additional cost:

US: $64.99 for current subscribers
Canada: CAD $64.99
UK & Ireland: £9.99
Australia: $44.99 AUD
New Zealand: $24.99 NZD

The fight is a part of the regular DAZN subscription, if you are residing in any of the non-PPV nations (no need for additional PPV payments). PPV regions are US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand.

Thanks for this info...

Have subscribed now for Php99 or 1.7 USD and the good thing is that i could cancel the subscription anytime i want just like Netflix.  Smiley

So let's enjoy the fight guys, main event coming up in the next few hours.

Very important: For Indian fans

In India, we can watch the match live by taking a subscription to DAZN India.

https://www.dazn.com/en-IN/home

The subscription fee is just ₹69 ($0.87), which is just around 1% of the PPV price in the United States. This is such a great offer and don't miss it. You need a credit card to get the subscription and it will be a recurring monthly payment. Once the fight is over, go to my accounts and then cancel the subscription. Else the next month also ₹69 will be deducted from your credit card. The video and playback quality is exceptional. I just signed up, and now I am watching the Akhmedov vs Rosado fight.

Note: You can watch the fight in your mobile, Smart TV or laptop.

Can you the main card even if you are not subscribed to the PPV? I have read that the PPV was USD80+, so if subscribe to DAZN to less than a dollar and you can watch all the fight then it would be good if we subscribe to this one.

1412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 17, 2022, 11:21:11 PM
What PBA needs to do is to focus on making the league better again, there's a lot of issues that they need to address PBA should start working on that.
They're not addressing it, they only addressed it because they're being called out and that made them nervous. The answers given by the comms aren't even enticing to hear and they only think of themselves. I just hope that B League would boycott the meeting that they'll about to have with the comms.

What would boycotting the meeting do? It will just worsen the relationship between the two leagues. It is better if they can come up with something that would benefit both leagues and the players as well.

I do not know if it is still in effect, but I think college players who do not want to get drafted into PBA are not able to play in PBA at all. If they can come up with a resolution that players can join b league and can still play in PBA after their contracts expire, it will be good for the league and the players.

Agree, they should talk and do whatever is necessary that could be good for both the PBA and Japan B-league and to the Filipino players that will be the affected on this move. Seems to me that the PBA is so selfish when they brought out this thing to the media but they kept mum on the issue of Greg Slaughter.

I mean Greg was silently boycotted by PBA teams as no one hires his services even if he was a free agent already and they left him hanging in the limbo this whole time but commissioner Marcial never acted on that one so he was forced to bring his wares to Japan.

This whole thing is so complicated in my point of view and as an ordinary fan of the PBA and basketball i hope they could come up with a better solution that will benefit the fans who are the source of their income also.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 17, 2022, 10:54:28 PM
Zurdo is also motivated by the thought of avenging his fellow countryman Canelo.

Not true. There's no way Zurdo has a thought to avenge Canelo from Bivol. I don't see how he will do that as he has his own legacy.

Zurdo was even disappointed with Canelo as the latter is not giving him a chance to fight him because Canelo doesn't want to fight his fellow countryman.

And for Mexicans, there's no avenging thing or stuff. During the time their boxers are beaten badly by Manny Pacquiao, those Mexicans are fighting to have a big achievement by defeating Manny, not to avenge their fellowman that got beaten by Manny.

Fight for the money that's the thing. Manny Pacquiao was once the biggest draw in boxing and whoever he fights will have the chance to earn the biggest purse of his career and the same with Canelo and if ever you got the chance to beat these superstars in boxing it will boost your stocks just like Jeff Horn when he defeated Manny and Bivol when he defeated Canelo.

If Canelo will win tonight's fight, that would be an added motivation for Bivol since he knows that he could earn more during the rematch with Canelo.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 17, 2022, 03:47:09 PM
This time, I don't think Ginebra will win the championship again despite having Brownlee who is undeniably a good import, why? Because with a healthy Fajardo, he can still dominate inside and with the help of their import, it will be easier for him. If we have a championship odds now, I'm guessing SMB will be the top favorites to win.

SMB is like having 2 imports in the upcoming conference now that JuneMar Fajardo is playing like in his prime. In the last conference, he is consistent in doing a monster performance from eliminations, quarterfinals, and semi-finals up to the Finals. Only an import can stop him but if that's the case, how can teams able to stop the real import of SMB?

SMB is like a tough team to beat again. CJ Perez is also playing in his prime and Terrene Romeo might return next conference. There are also other big men in the SMB that is tough to guard like Mo Tautaa and Vic Manuel. A powerhouse team.

This is also my observation and I think SMB Beermen really has the chance to win this Commissioner's Cup because of a healthy Fajardo and looks like he is making a case for his 7th MVP trophy. With a tall import, Fajardo's playing minutes might decrease but this is good as he won't be gassed out in the final quarter if he is still needed, and with CJ Perez adjusting very well to the system of coach Leo, ohh boy SMB is really a scary team now more than ever.

Ginebra will be having a hard time this coming conference even if they have Brownlee because of the reason i've stated above but i just hope that independent teams will have a good showing this time and not just play for the sake of playing, they should have the motivation especially now that the controversy in the PBA reached the Senate.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 17, 2022, 09:37:14 AM
Golovkin's current build is awesome. Is he really an aging boxer @ 40 years old? We can say that he is in good shape and no signs that he undergo heavy and intense training. I'm amazed at the disciplined in taking care of his body.

If no one knows about the real age of GGG, he can be mistakenly looked at as having the same age as Canelo.

But it's just his physical appearance. The real strength will be seen in the actual fight. Just around 17 hours to go of waiting and the event will now take place.

That's how professional GGG is when it comes to taking care of his body and aesthetic wise, they may look even at the scale but during fight time we all knew that Father time will have its toll on GGG but I do hope that this would still be a competitive fight like the first two.

Even at the presentation on the weigh-in, it was very obvious that they are hyping Canelo lol, we can't blame them as this fight is for him to look good and have a good stock before doing a rematch against Bivol.

Have already pulled the trigger and i hope would right this time.

1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA EuroBasket 2022 on: September 17, 2022, 09:17:00 AM
I stopped watching France vs Poland game after the 3rd quarter, it's too obvious where it is going.
They cannot find a good offense and the defense of France is too much for them, they were suffocated. A.J. Slaughter cannot get a window to shoot, not even a peek at the rim. He did great 3/3 outside shots in the first quarter but that's it, he is scoreless after that.
France soon realized Poland needed him to apply their plays so they pressured him to the extent that he won't even get a clean pass.

Lost my bet on Poland too, i thought that it would be a close game as that was a semi-final game but like you said the defense of France was too much for the Polish team and that ended their cinderella run.

I lost both my bets. Will try to win the last 2 games.

Who's your pick on France vs Spain mate? I'm more inclined to bet for France as their defense is more solid but this FIBA Euro Cup is very unpredictable so I may tail you on your pick hehe. I'm yet to win on this Euro Cup, lost my 3 bets already.

Guys, I'm sure you are familiar with Rendon Labador, what do you think about him trying to get Pingris to play with him one on one? hehe.. it's a very popular topic now in the internet where some fans criticizing Rendon Labador for challenging the Sakuragi.

Hahaha, this is a bit off topic but since it is the talk of the town since a former PBA star is involved then i think it is worth the discussion here.

From what i have learned, it was Pingris who challenged Rendon to a one on one basketball game because he was trying to defend coach Chot Reyes who was badly criticized by Rendon and the rest is history.

It is clear that Rendon is no match to Pingris if they play basketball but the money will flow in here because they are vloggers and we all know that Filipinos will go to that platform to witness them play if ever it will push through but i don't think it will because Pingris has been silent on this issue now.
1418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 15, 2022, 10:36:57 AM
Gamblers are considering the fact that GGG is no longer in his prime.

Though his fighting chance is still there, from what I've seen in his last fight against Murata, he still has that power
punches that if ever he got that good opening from Canelo, he can still put him down.

We just need to wait and we will see how they will perform and who will be the winner. Bookies favorite in favor
of Canelo as always.

Because this is the truth  Smiley.

If we based our speculations on GGG's last fight then I could say that he is past his prime because he was having troubles in the early rounds in dealing with the body shots of Murata who I could say is way below Canelo's boxing skills and even if GGG has the opening I doubt that he could knockout Canelo as the latter has a granite chin so no wonder most of the gamblers outside this forum are favoring Canelo to win.

Italy already kicked out one favorite, why not to do it another time. It should be amazing game.

They slayed Serbia and their confidence level by now must be very high so i'm riding with them to beat Rudy Gobert and company in the next few hours. Not so familiar with the players of Italy but the fact that they beat Serbia, they must have a solid lineup than have the chance to take the crown this year's FIBA or at least fight in the finals.
