I noticed an interesting thing about this fight: Golovkin can win, but most likely only by knockout - he is too old to last the whole distance of the fight and win on points.

I don't agree with you that GGG can't last the whole fight just because of his age. He has the stamina to last long.

But likely, if the fight went to a decision, Canelo might be the winner. GGG can only win by Knock Out or he is evident the clear winner of each round like what happened when Bivol got the unanimous win against the favorite Canelo. Canelo is the current cash cow and the result might get influenced in favor of him.

I would have to agree with @agustina2 because even though GGG is 40 years old, I still think that he has enough stamina to make it all the way. But at the same time, I also think that it would be better if he went for the knockout rather than a fight to the majority decision. When it comes down to the judges' scorecard, I really believe that Canelo is going to win the fight.

@Japinat, There is no doubt that if it is a majority decision win, Canelo is going to be the victor. The fight should really be finished with an early knockout by Golovkin, and he should really try to do that. But I wonder if that will be the case, since you know, he usually takes a while to get used to the pace, so I'm not sure if that is going to happen.

And if boxing is business, so it must be corrupt as well as the judges might be in the payroll so that he will allow Canelo to win if the fight is going to be close. Otherwise if he losses this fight, everyone will be in shambles and will try to carry back because they need Canelo to regain his status asap. But we can't discount the fact that Golovkin has his own reasons to try and go win this fight.

This is his last fight with the DAZN contract, so not sure if he will renew if he is going to be offered a new contract if he decided to continue with his career, win or lose.

As judges are aware that people are on eyes of this fight, I don't think they will decide a very unfair decision.

I don't think that that judges will give a unfair decision, or at least favor Canelo if he doesn't deserved to win. As you have said, all eyes are watching, so they better do a good job as compare to the last 2 fight. Because for sure there will be a lot of criticism and they might not be able to judge or at least be suspended if they f**ed this one up.

Yes, this is an unfair fight to begin with. They waited for GGG be this old which is why GGG needs to KO Canelo or make obvious striking points beyond doubts to win this fight which is also difficult since he had gained weight.

At least GGG will have money after this fight.   .  It is obvious that if the fight is close, Canelo would have a high possibility of winning.  So GGG really needs to show the judges that he is a better boxer through the volume of clean punches if he can't KO Canelo.  In short, GGG need to outbox Canelo by a mile.

Well, boxing isn't only a sport but an industry that involves business.  So definitely, the boxing authority's decision is always affected by the thought of how much profit they can get out of those matches.

I like to think that boxing is Canelo's cash cow and he is milking it a lot in terms of revenues, his being a free agent makes it possible to make huge revenues, but the milk will not flow abundantly anymore if he loses this one, he is still boxing favorite to watch boxer even though he slides in the boxing pound for pound ranking, fighting Golovkin is a big challenge to him, he just comes out from a unanimous loss, and he is fighting someone who lasted a full 24 rounds, it's just the thought that GGG is now 40 years old and many think that father time is catching up and the hardship of boxing is now taking a toil in his body

GGG does not have to mind the trash-talk, he needs to focus on this fight and prove to the world that he can beat Canelo. Imagine if GGG will win here, that would give Canelo 2 losses in a row and will result in reducing his popularity. People will also remember that GGG is the better fighter between the two, so I understand why GGG is silent, it only says he will do the talking in the ring.

Yep, a good result is sweeter than a good words, if GGG can beat Canelo in this fight, I think many fans already stop to follow him since he can't prove if he's better than GGG. Not to mention how many bettors already lose when he fight Bivol before, they will be disappointed.

Maybe it's either Inoue, Crawford or Spence will become the best pound for pound boxer.

Light heavyweight also isn't a place where Canelo can easily beat the champion, it's a big challenge for him.

True, and I think because of the language barrier, GGG doesn't mind those trash talk, his seen better days when boxers trying to intimidate him by trash talking but in the end, he closes those big ass mount by either a TKO or KO victory.

There could still be bettors who are going to back up Canelo no matter what, just like the die hard fans of other boxers during their prime like Manny or Floyd.

This fight does not need trash talk to hype it, it was the fans who requested to see it and here it is, so I can say that it's going to be a sold-out fight and the fans will be entertained watching this. Canelo is the winner in the previous match but anything can happen here, GGG could win here and maybe retire to give Canelo a lesson that trash talking is bad.

I totally agree I'm also scoring the fight on my own and based on my score card GGG hasn't won a single round had the same score card, if this goes on GGG will have to knock out Canelo in order to win, Canelo is very aggressive throughout the fight, GGG will have to take action onwards for him to win by decision, but for now its all Canelo.

Canelo bounce back from a loss by winning this fight via unanimous decision the decision this time is uncontested he is more aggressive and connects a lot of big shots, GGG has shown slowness on his move but is still good, the fact that Canelo cannot hurt him seriously made us think that GGG can still continue to box, he sis moving forward now maybe he'll go for Andrade or offer a rematch against Bivol, his pound for pound ranking will surely improve with this win.

Canelo won but not with a good distance as two judges scored it 115-113 so there could be a draw if GGG won one more round which could spark controversy again. I've watched the fight and I think GGG has lost 9 rounds. If only he fought his fight in the early rounds the outcome could have been different but as they said, he was fighting as an old man, he may be gassed out if threw punches early and got knockout on the championship rounds.

So for me, this is the end of this match as clearly GGG is aging and depriving the fans of his true fighting style.
